- Chapter 86 - The Thrill of Psychological Superiority
He was truly despicable, utterly vile.
He chuckled, a lazy satisfaction lingering in his eyes as he leaned in to nuzzle her cheek. “You won’t get pregnant. I mean, humans and gods can’t conceive offspring.”
He explained without a hint of regret.
Si Tang glared at him, growing even angrier.
“Why didn’t you say so last night?”
He hadn’t said a word last night, deliberately watching her reaction, enjoying her panic and helplessness as she struggled against his overbearing behavior.
“I was wrong, Tangtang.” His voice softened, the apology flowing without hesitation.
He was wrong, but he’d dare to do it again.
And Si Tang knew all too well that he felt no real remorse.
She turned her head to look at him.
“Fan Yi, give me my phone. It’s been over a day since I’ve had any contact with the outside world.”
Her eyes held an unyielding stubbornness that brooked no refusal.
Fan Yi was reluctant but knew he couldn’t provoke her further. He had already done everything he wanted.
So, obediently, he handed her the phone.
Si Tang took it, unlocked it, and was immediately flooded with messages.
She didn’t have many friends, and most of the messages were from the company. What surprised her was that the person who had contacted her most frequently was He Chenzhou.
Calls and texts had hardly stopped.
“Si Tang, my people saw Fan Yi take you onto a yacht. Did he do anything to you?”
“You haven’t been in touch with the company for a day, and your phone is off. Did something happen?”
“I’ve tracked your location. Why is Fan Yi taking you toward the dangerous, uninhabited sea? Wait for me. I’ll find you in a day.”
Si Tang stared incredulously at the last message.
Judging by the timestamp, it was sent this morning, which meant He Chenzhou would arrive tomorrow?
They were merely acquaintances, what made him go to such lengths?
As she stared at her phone, Fan Yi’s voice, sour and sinister, came from beside her.
“We’re husband and wife. What could I possibly do? Why is he meddling?”
He was deeply displeased with He Chenzhou’s excessive concern but hesitated to act because of the other man’s status.
“He’s just showing concern out of goodwill,” Si Tang retorted sarcastically. “He noticed early on that you’re two-faced and even warned me about it.”
Fan Yi let out a light scoff. “How is that two-faced?”
Si Tang turned her head and looked at him calmly, her expression saying, “Keep pretending, just keep pretending.”
Fan Yi suddenly rubbed the tip of his nose and muttered, almost inaudibly, “Isn’t it because you like that kind of man?”
“What kind of man do I like?”
“In that interview, you said you like men who are good-tempered and caring.”
Si Tang: “…”
So that was the reason for his act?
She had only said it offhandedly back then.
She truly didn’t know what to say.
In the midst of her speechlessness, her phone suddenly rang. The screen displayed He Chenzhou’s name.
Pursing her lips, Si Tang answered the call under Fan Yi’s watchful gaze.
“Hello? Si Tang, are you okay? Where are you now?”
“I’m fine. I’m with my husband. There’s no need for you to come. I’ll be back in a couple of days.”
“Si Tang, are you really okay?”
He Chenzhou’s voice remained calm, but upon closer listening, one could detect a hint of doubt and urgency.
A strange feeling crept into Si Tang’s heart. She truly couldn’t understand why He Chenzhou had taken an interest in her.
Suddenly, the unruly hand beneath the covers grew even more brazen. Si Tang gritted her teeth and kicked the person behind her, all while speaking into the phone.
“I, I’m really fine,” Si Tang insisted repeatedly.
Fan Yi, having been kicked, showed no anger. Instead, he enveloped her entirely, wrapping around her like an octopus and trapping her in his embrace.
His silk-like silver hair brushed against the hollow of her shoulder, tickling her. Damp, warm, and slightly cool kisses began to stamp themselves wantonly across her skin.
Si Tang bit her lip and let out a shaky breath. Just as He Chenzhou was about to press further, she quickly said, “President He, I’m truly fine. I’m just on vacation with my husband. Thank you for your concern.”
With that, she hung up. The moment the call ended, Fan Yi had already pinned her beneath him.
Si Tang pushed at him. “Mm, get off me.”
Fan Yi paid no heed, and his actions only grew more audacious.
“I’m hungry!” Si Tang raised her voice.
His movements paused, and a muffled voice sounded. “Once. we finish, we’ll eat.”
Si Tang wanted to resist, but she no longer had the strength. Fan Yi had already lifted her waist, winding himself around her and holding her tightly.
“Tang Tang…”
Their necks entwined in intimacy.
By late afternoon, nearing dusk, Si Tang sat listlessly at the dining table, held from behind by Fan Yi.
She was exhausted and famished, while the instigator of her state looked refreshed and energetic.
She picked up her chopsticks and took a few bites before remembering something. Turning to Fan Yi, she asked, “Aren’t you going to eat?”
Fan Yi played with her glossy black hair, holding her close as he intertwined a strand of his own hair with hers, a faint smile curling his lips. “In a moment.”
Only when he had his fill of playing did he set Si Tang down. With a mere flick of divine power, he brought the seafood from the kitchen to the table and sat beside her.
He still ate with elegance, not transforming into a monstrous form to devour his food as he had when Si Tang first met him. Though he no longer needed to maintain the facade of a gentleman in front of her, he didn’t want his true eating habits to frighten her.
Si Tang, unaware of his thoughts, focused on her meal.
After finishing, she set down her utensils, wiped the corner of her mouth, and asked, “When are we going back?”
Fan Yi also put down his utensils, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. His deep, dark blue eyes turned to gaze at her, intense and shadowed. “What? Does Tang Tang not want to stay with me?”
That wasn’t what she meant, she was merely inquiring about their schedule.
Fan Yi lowered his lashes slightly, realizing he shouldn’t frighten her with such a possessive tone. Softening his voice, he said, “We’ll return home tomorrow evening.”
Satisfied with the answer, Si Tang nodded and pulled out her phone to reply to messages from her company, allowing Fan Yi to hold her in his embrace.
Fan Yi carried her out to the deck to bask in the sunlight.
“Tang Tang, let’s watch the sunset together,” he said gently.
But Si Tang, preoccupied with her phone, worried about company matters and offered only a few perfunctory replies.
Her assistant had just reported that the design drafts for their collaboration with the British royal family had been rejected. The other party was highly dissatisfied and demanded to terminate the contract with Xing Nian.
This project was crucial one of the reasons Xing Nian had remained a leader in the jewelry industry.
“Tang Tang.” Fan Yi tightened his grip, displeased, resenting everything in the human world that stole her attention.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Si Tang saw the stunning face full of accusation, as if he were particularly dissatisfied with her lack of focus.
Like a child needing to be coaxed.
So, Si Tang instinctively offered a perfunctory appeasement to appease him.
She stroked his head, just as he had once stroked hers. Only after doing so did she realize why he enjoyed it so much the indescribable psychological thrill of being in a superior position was truly hard to put into words.
Fan Yi didn’t get angry and saw right through her thoughts, allowing her to ruffle his silk-like, smooth long hair into a messy state.
