Private Consultation Room.
This psychological therapy clinic had been recommended by a friend a year ago; it was said the doctor was quite accomplished in the field.
Si Tang pushed open the door, and a warmly decorated therapy room came into view. The interior design felt exceptionally comfortable, putting her at ease.
Her attending physician, Ning Xuan, was already waiting there.
Doctor Ning Xuan was gentle and beautiful, with a consistently kind smile on her face. She adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses and said to Si Tang, “Miss Si, you’re here. Please have a seat.”
Ning Xuan gestured for her to sit. Her smile was warm, easing Si Tang’s tension slightly.
“How have you been feeling lately?” Ning Xuan asked.
Si Tang paused, sighed softly, and then whispered, “Still the same… but my dreams have become more complex recently. They’re no longer just the same scene as before.”
Ning Xuan nodded and continued probing, “Can you describe those scenes in detail?”
Si Tang furrowed her brows, trying hard to recall. “Before, I always dreamed of a man who transformed into a merman, you probably know about that. But just a couple of days ago, I dreamed I was on a small island, and that merman actually turned into a massive monster, swallowing a dismembered whale whole. I can still remember how I felt in the dream. terrified, deserate to escape.”
“What’s even more unsettling upon waking is that the image was a hallucination that had once flashed through my mind.. Ugh, it’s just awful.”
At this point, Si Tang hung her head in frustration.
Ning Xuan carefully recorded Si Tang’s description and then asked, “In these dreams, are you still unable to see its face clearly?”
“Yes,” Si Tang nodded. “There’s one more thing. I mentioned earlier that I had fantasized about that scene. I recently got married, as you might have seen in the news. Ever since being with my husband, I’ve been having these unrealistic fantasies.”
“Oh?” Ning Xuan’s pen paused briefly as she looked up curiously. “How exactly do they manifest?”
“He bears about an eighty percent resemblance to the figure in my dreams,” Si Tang admitted without holding back. “Maybe because of that, I always associate him with the merman in my dreams. but that’s probably impossible.”
Ning Xuan nodded in understanding, pondered for a moment, and said, “I never thought such a coincidence could exist in the world. Alright, I see. Your condition might be due to stress or anxiety. I’ll prescribe some medication to help you adjust; it should bring some improvement.”
Si Tang took the prescription from Ning Xuan, feeling a bit more reassured. Ning Xuan comforted her, “Don’t worry. Take the medication as prescribed, ensure you get enough sleep, and these symptoms should gradually fade.”
Si Tang let out a bitter laugh and lowered her head. “I hope so.”
Three years ago, her first psychologist had said the same thing.
After thanking Ning Xuan, Si Tang left the consultation room. She hoped the medication would truly help, freeing her from the occasional hallucinations that haunted her.
Downstairs, Fan Yi stared at the entrance of the therapy room, using his celestial vision to overhear the conversation inside. He frowned slightly.
Only he knew that those were not mere hallucinations.
And this was likely the prelude to Si Tang’s memories returning.
How could that be allowed?
She hadn’t fallen in love with him yet. If she remembered who he was, wouldn’t she run faster than a ghost? Wouldn’t the sweet love he desired be forever out of reach?
Forced fruit might quench thirst, but he wanted both to have his cake and eat it too.
With a darkened expression, he withdrew his gaze and said to 8856, “Drive. Let’s go back.”
8856 had no idea what had set off this ancestor again. His mood had just improved this morning, and now he was losing it again.
Not daring to make a sound, 8856 drove away from the psychotherapy clinic.
As soon as they reached the villa, Fan Yi silently locked himself in the basement. The trident left on the coffee table last time was kicked out the door by him.
Trident: What’s with this guy? What’s he doing
Fan Yi went crazy studying.
He gathered countless books on love education.
How to Make the One You Love Fall for You, The Five Love Languages, The Game, etc…
After tossing the umpteenth book into his space, Fan Yi felt confident again.
When Si Tang returned to the villa, Fan Yi was sitting on the sofa reading the financial newspaper.
He adjusted the gold-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose. Under the crystal chandelier, he appeared refined and elegant. His posture was straight and graceful, exuding an air of warmth, nobility, and composure.
Little did anyone know, he had practiced this very pose in front of the mirror all afternoon in the basement, repeatedly comparing himself to that man named He Chenzhou.
“You’re back?” he said, as naturally as a husband waiting for his wife to return late. He stood up, walked over, took the coat from the dazed Si Tang’s hands, hung it on the coat rack by the entrance, then held her shoulders and gently guided her to the dining table.
“Let’s eat.”
The dining table was not only laden with all kinds of her favorite delicacies but also adorned with candles and fresh flowers. The flickering candlelight created an exceptionally romantic atmosphere.
8856 had already been sent away in advance.
Si Tang sat down in a daze, taking a long moment to find her voice.
“Is today a special occasion?”
“No, I just wanted to cheer you up,” Fan Yi replied calmly as he sat opposite her, though no one knew how tightly he was clenching his sweaty palms.
The warm candlelight danced in his dark, blue-tinged pupils, making them appear strangely enchanting and mesmerizing, despite his gentle expression.
Si Tang glanced at him, then at the candlelit dinner setup, and couldn’t help but lower her head with a slight smile.
Mr. Fan Yi seemed, a little cute.
Of course, Si Tang didn’t expose the gentleman’s intentions.
She picked up her knife and fork and began to enjoy the meal.
Seeing no unusual reaction on Si Tang’s face, Fan Yi finally relaxed, a pure and soft smile spreading across his face.
“Is it good?”
“Very good,” Si Tang praised without hesitation.
Fan Yi felt even more elated.
Remembering something, Si Tang asked, “Where’s Xiao Liu?”
“Oh, he’s working overtime at the company.”
Meanwhile, 8856, who had been exiled by Lord Fan Yi to wander outside the villa.
8856: Life is tough, and there’s no one to complain to.
After finishing her meal, Si Tang said to Fan Yi, “By the way, there’s something I need to ask for your help with.”
“Oh? Tangtang, feel free to ask,” Fan Yi said with a gentle smile.
“There’s a rough stone auction in three days. I’ll be representing Xing Nian and would like you to come with me. There will be many media outlets there, and I need us to pretend to be an affectionate couple.”
Affectionate? Did they even need to pretend!
Fan Yi’s smile grew even more radiant. “It would be my utmost honor.”
Perfect, it was time to show all those human males who shouldn’t have any ideas that Tangtang was his!
