- Chapter 22 - A Terrible Script
Diary Page Six:
“World No. 1760, 1500 BC, Ancient Greece.
I was in a bad mood today, which caused the eruption of the Cretan volcano and triggered a tsunami.
The power of the Sea God bestowed by Father Deity is simply too overwhelming and difficult to control.
Watching the insignificant lives below suffer and perish, I felt not a shred of the compassion Father Deity spoke of as a god’s duty.
Perhaps I was born without such a thing.”
Diary Page Seven:
“World No. 0856, 47 BC, Late Western Han Dynasty.
Another group of people fought right under my nose today, constantly babbling in my ears about wanting to dominate the world. Aren’t they tired of it? I certainly am! It annoyed me so much that I kicked over a table deep in the ocean. I didn’t control my strength well, and it ended up causing a tsunami, reaping a bunch of filthy souls. Not a single cookie to my taste another nauseating day.
During my cultivation today, I realized my memory does seem to have some issues. Why did my elder brother go to such lengths to place a seal on my memories from the time of my birth? What does he want me to forget?”
Si Tang: Twitching mouth jpg Fan Yi really is a terrifying and dangerous individual.
Diary Page Eight:
“World No. 0900, 1860 AD. The debates between creationism and evolutionism in this world intrigue me. I eavesdropped on a few discussions.
The Chief Deity sent a divine envoy to investigate, saying I’m an unqualified god three thousand years and still unrepentant, with no concept of good and evil.
I have no idea what he’s talking about. He also said I’ll be punished with imprisonment. Who knows which world they’ll dump me in this time? As long as it’s not the Triassic or Jurassic period, I don’t want to eat sulfur.
The gods blame my elder brother for shielding and spoiling me. This time, the Thunder God himself is descending to pass judgment, exiling me to the Atlantic Ocean in World No. 8856. Fine, at least there are fish in the sea and people on ships I won’t starve. The only boring part is being confined to the Atlantic.”
The diary ends here, with no further updates.
It seems this fish’s crimes are too numerous to record, greatly displeasing the gods, which is why divine punishment and imprisonment were imposed.
Fan Yi closed the diary as if nothing had happened, as though he had just been reading someone else’s story.
“Your experiences are truly, eventful.” Si Tang pressed the back of her hand to her nose, suddenly regretting having read it.
Did she now know all his secrets?
Remembering how, over those three thousand years, he loved eating humans countless humans Si Tang couldn’t help but shiver.
She even thought that if he hadn’t lost his memory, with his inherently cruel nature, she probably would have been devoured by him right from the start.
Unable to control herself, she took a cautious step back, her almond-shaped eyes wide with fear as she asked timidly,
“Do you really like eating humans?”
Fan Yi glanced at her.
At that moment, Si Tang suddenly flashed back to their first meeting three months ago this fish could transform into a monster large enough to swallow several humans whole.
The mere thought made her feel utterly unsettled.
Noticing her reaction, Fan Yi slowly leaned forward, his narrow peach-blossom eyes narrowing as he stared down at her with a hint of intimidation.
“Are you afraid of me?”
“A little.” Si Tang answered honestly, her clear, innocent almond eyes gazing up at him as she whispered, “Please stop eating humans. and stop involving innocent lives.”
Fan Yi stared at her, silent for a long while.
Just as Si Tang thought he was about to erupt in anger, he slowly straightened up, the oppressive aura dissipating completely.
He replied, “Fine.”
He lifted his chin slightly, his expression utterly indifferent.
“Anyway, there’s nothing particularly tasty about it. To me, humans are nothing more than a snack.”
Si Tang: Why do I feel even more terrified after his explanation?
“Don’t worry, I won’t eat you. As long as you’re by my side, I’ll protect you.” He curved his lips into a smile and suddenly reached out, lightly tapping the tip of Si Tang’s nose.
Si Tang stared at him blankly, seemingly stunned by the intimate gesture. Yet, Fan Yi’s blue eyes remained calm and unruffled, as if he hadn’t just crossed any boundaries.
Despite the ambiguous action, Si Tang actually felt a warmth and sense of gratitude.
However, she hadn’t yet grasped the deeper meaning behind Fan Yi’s words. She didn’t realize it was a command, an imperative sentence.
You can only be protected if you stay by my side.
You must stay by my side for me to protect you.
By the time she understood, everything had spiraled out of control.
Fan Yi returned to the depths of Atlantis.
The deity reclined lazily on his throne, his trident resting beside him. He took out the amber necklace and gently traced the character “Tang” engraved on it. The light from the luminous pearls and jellyfish reflected off his silver fishtail, casting an enchanting glow.
He parted his lips softly and said, “8856, come out.”
A wisp of golden light descended before him.
“Lord Fan Yi!” 8856 cried out anxiously, clearly still preoccupied with the decree from the Goddess of Fate.
“I called you here because I have something to ask you.” As if oblivious to its anxiety, Fan Yi moved in a flash of white light, appearing instantly before 8856.
Before 8856 could respond, a slender, bony hand abruptly seized the golden light, as if gripping its lifeline. His pale fingers, cold as jade, pressed down like a tangible blade against 8856.
In the deity’s deep blue eyes lay a blatant threat cruel, cold, and utterly chilling.
8856: !!! Weak, pitiful, and helpless jpg.
“Waaah, please don’t, Lord Fan Yi! Let’s talk this out!”
Don’t just grab its lifeline like that if the Sea God applied even a little more force, it would be utterly annihilated!
Fan Yi lowered his gaze, staring intently at 8856 in his palm, and spoke slowly and softly, “Tell me, her thread of fate.”
“Waaah, okay! Lord Fan Yi, don’t scare me! Even if you didn’t grab me, I wouldn’t dare not tell you.”
“Enough nonsense,” Fan Yi said coldly.
8856 trembled as it stammered, “Waaah, it’s you can see for yourself.”
He’s insane! Lord Fan Yi has truly lost his mind!
Fan Yi released his grip, and 8856 immediately pulled out a scroll from its embrace, the divine manuscript of the Goddess of Fate and handed it to Fan Yi.
“This is the thread of fate for this world, written by the Goddess of Fate over the past century. It’s the performance task assigned to me.”
Fan Yi reached out and took it, then swept a beam of white light over it, searching for Si Tang’s name.
In moments, his gaze settled on a line of text.
Fan Yi stared at those words for a long time. Suddenly, a ghostly blue flame ignited in his palm, instantly reducing the divine scroll to ashes.
“Get lost,” he said coldly.
8856 fled faster than a ghost.
It didn’t dare tell Fan Yi that burning the scroll was futile.
Because it could already feel the seabed trembling a sign of the Sea God’s wrath.
Faced with the choice of persuading the Sea God not to overturn the ocean floor or saving its own skin and fleeing, it decisively chose the latter.
Fan Yi’s azure eyes had unknowingly deepened into an icy, dark blue, as if tainted by a shadowy mist, giving him an almost spectral appearance.
Beside him, the trident, driven by the sea god, began to tremble violently.
The trident’s inner thoughts: No, no! Master, spare me! I don’t want to be implicated in your crimes again!
Fortunately, after more than ten seconds of violent shaking, the seabed gradually calmed down.
Fan Yi struggled to rein in his fury.
Because he remembered today, he had just promised Tangtang that he wouldn’t harm innocent lives.
He released the trident, his knuckles clenched tightly, and suddenly let out a chilling, cold laugh.
Ridiculous fate.
How dare it assign such a wretched script to his Tangtang.
Love at first sight with a fiancé? Betrayed by that fiancé who cheats with her stepsister? Shares stolen? Framed and imprisoned? A miserable, lonely death?
His Tangtang, so beautiful and pure, would die of illness at the age of 31?
Absurd!
Si Tang’s destiny would be determined by him alone.
