- Chapter 15 - Sleeping in an Embrace: Stick Your Tongue Out and Let Me See
“Nothing, I just accidentally knocked it over.”
Li Chu felt his face burning so hot he could probably fry an egg on it. He forced himself to stay calm and picked up the boxes from the floor one by one.
Shao Tingyue crouched down halfway and casually picked up one box to help him put it into the drawer. There were too many of them, and they were of every variety imaginable: cooling, ribbed, and ultra-thin.
His black eyes darkened, his gaze falling on the boy’s reddened fingertips. As expected of a teenager who had just come of age, this level of intensity was already enough to make him unbearably embarrassed.
Finally, after packing everything away, Li Chu shoved the case into a remote cabinet to keep it out of sight.
Shao Tingyue went to the bathroom to wash his hands. Remembering that Li Chu’s tongue had been burned earlier, he folded back and said calmly, “Stick your tongue out and let me see.”
Li Chu was just worrying about how to take a shower in this semi-transparent bathroom. Hearing this, he froze, and the shyness he had finally managed to suppress crawled back in full force.
“I am fine, Second Uncle. It is already much better.”
Shao Tingyue ignored him. He gently gripped Li Chu’s cheeks with his palm, his thumb pressing under his jaw. “Open your mouth.”
Pinned in place, Li Chu had to lift his face. His amber-colored pupils trembled, but in the end, he obediently opened his mouth and mumbled a vague defense: “It is really fine.”
The boy’s skin was as tender as the mousse cake they had that evening. The fragrant scent of his breath wafted through his slightly open lips, and a small blister had formed where his tongue had been burned.
“You call this fine?” The man’s tone betrayed no emotion, but his fingertip subconsciously brushed against the tip of Li Chu’s tongue.
The sensation was softer and wetter than he had imagined.
“Does it hurt?”
Li Chu thought it was a bit unhygienic and impolite for Shao Tingyue to put his finger in his mouth.
He blinked his eyes in a slightly aggrieved manner: “It is alright.”
“Don’t eat things given to you by others casually in the future, understand? Especially when I am not around.”
There were plenty of chaotic things in Hong Kong’s upper circles; the kid did not yet understand what it meant to maintain proper vigilance.
Li Chu felt as if his tone was like someone scolding a puppy.
Alex was not a stranger, and he had meant well; today’s incident was purely an accident. But he only dared to complain internally and nodded obediently on the surface.
Shao Tingyue finally let him go, his fingertips rubbing against the lingering moisture. “You go take a shower first. I will have the butler send some medicine over.”
Li Chu felt as if he had been granted an amnesty and quietly let out a sigh of relief.
He had been blown by the sea breeze all day and had broken into a light sweat; Li Chu had long felt sticky and uncomfortable.
But going to shower like this, how was it any different from being naked?
“You dared to go into the water wearing only swim trunks in front of people, yet now you know how to be shy?” Shao Tingyue saw through his concerns and turned toward the bedroom telephone. “Don’t worry, I will not look.”
Li Chu thought about it and realized it made sense. They were both men, and Shao Tingyue was such a serious and upright person, so he put his worries aside, clutched his clothes, and headed into the bathroom.
The bathroom’s decoration style was incredibly luxurious, with clear crystal washbasins and gold-plated faucets. Li Chu let out several “wows” internally and could not help but reach out to touch them.
Could it be real gold?
As soon as the thought popped up, Li Chu felt he was being a bit silly and started to wash up, dilly-dallying.
Shao Tingyue hung up the phone. The sound of trickling water already drifted from the bathroom.
A blurred figure was projected onto the frosted glass. The water mist outlined a slim waistline, fluid shoulders, and the graceful arc of his neck as he tilted his head back.
The light stained the outline into an ambiguous, soft glow, swaying with the flow of water, shadowy and indistinct. The boy was humming a song in his mouth, a tune he had never heard before.
The ink-black depth in Shao Tingyue’s eyes deepened, and his breathing grew heavier.
It overlapped perfectly with his dreams.
When Li Chu finished his shower and came out, Shao Tingyue was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. He held a cigar between his fingers, the spark flickering in the dark, deep ocean night.
He really had not peeked; he truly was a ship tycoon who kept his word.
“Second Uncle, I am done washing.”
The man replied from the shadows, reminding him, “There is medicine and a cup of warm milk on the table. The butler said it has been specially improved, so it will not upset your stomach. A little honey has been added. Drink it before you go to sleep.”
Li Chu saw the items on the table and reached out to hold the cup; the temperature was perfect.
When he was little and living under someone else’s roof, the kids at his aunt and uncle’s house would have milk before bed every night. He had envied them so much back then, curling up on his floor mat and falling asleep smelling the aroma of milk.
Once, when there was less milk in the relatives’ house, his aunt had specifically dragged him out of class at school to scold him.
Li Chu blinked a few times, his nose suddenly feeling inexplicably sore. He silently took the medicine and obediently drank the milk.
Shao Tingyue returned from the small balcony, bringing with him the faint scent of sea breeze and cigars. He stared at Li Chu’s face for a moment, then reached out and handed him a tissue.
“Wipe your mouth.”
“Oh.” Li Chu quickly took it to wipe his mouth and then shuffled into the bathroom in his slippers to brush his teeth.
He did not wear the bathrobe prepared in the suite but wore the loungewear he had brought from home. However, the slippers were from the ship and were a size too big. His pair of white, tender little feet with slim, beautiful ankles looked like a child who had stolen an adult’s shoes to wear.
After much bustling about, it was finally time to lie down and sleep.
Li Chu looked at the massive bed that could fit several people and decided to sleep obediently in the corner, pulling over just a little bit of the quilt, his sleeping posture as orderly as could be.
Soon, the sound of water drifted from the bathroom again.
Li Chu closed his eyes tightly, not daring to look in that direction at all.
The waves gently rocked the ship’s hull like a giant cradle, and he gradually drifted off to sleep.
It was unknown how much time had passed when the mattress beside him sank slightly, and an intense masculine aura enveloped him.
Li Chu was too sleepy to open his eyes. He curled up like a little shrimp, his hands balled into fists like an infant.
Shao Tingyue stared at the boy’s cautious and resistant posture. In the middle of the enormous bed, there was a gap so wide it felt as if they were separated by a massive chasm.
Hmph, treating me like a flood or a wild beast?
Li Chu fell into a chaotic dream.
At first, he did not know why, but he had fallen into the sea again. Freezing, bone-chilling seawater poured in from all sides, and he struggled and suffocated in the dark seabed.
Then the scene shifted. He was crouching on the ground, struggling to build a snowman.
The snow grew bigger and bigger, gradually taking on a round, chubby shape, looking like an endearing doll.
Li Chu was a southern child and loved it to bits. After finishing his masterpiece, he could not help but stretch out his arms and hug that cold, soft, giant snowman tightly.
Shao Tingyue was slapped awake by Li Chu.
The boy’s breathing was long and even, his eyelashes shut tight. Somewhere along the way, he had rolled from the corner onto his body.
His cheeks were buried in the crook of his shoulder, his arms hugging his waist, and his leg was plastered unceremoniously over his own.
Shao Tingyue frowned slightly. He tried to push the soundly sleeping Li Chu away. However, the moment he moved him even a little, the person in his arms mumbled unhappily.
In the dim light of the room, Shao Tingyue could see his face flushed pink from sleep, his delicate brows furrowed slightly, and occasionally he would pull the corners of his mouth into a silly smile, dreaming heaven knows what.
They used the same toiletries, and the fragrance after the bath seeped through, creating an indescribable sense of intimacy.
Shao Tingyue’s Adam’s apple rolled, his breathing deepening.
He was a man with normal physical needs. The suppressed instincts in his body were gradually awakening, and the temperature of their touching skin was rising.
Li Chu must have been having a nightmare; the more he pushed him away, the more Li Chu clung to him, as if he had grabbed the only piece of driftwood left.
He even buried his face deeper, rubbing against Shao Tingyue’s neck like a little kitten.
After doing this back and forth a few times, Shao Tingyue finally reached out and pulled him closer, adjusting them into a more comfortable position, letting Li Chu lie almost entirely on his chest.
He had a light frame and was thin; holding him felt just like holding a light feather.
Shao Tingyue closed his eyes again, his arms firmly wrapping around the warm, soft body in his embrace. “You are the one who wanted to hug.”
Li Chu slept very well that night, surrounded by a steady, calm aura, feeling so comfortable that even his fingertips felt lazy.
He was awakened by the brightening sunlight outside the floor-to-ceiling window.
His eyelashes trembled as he slowly opened his eyes.
The first thing that caught his sight was the magnificent sunrise over the sea; the light pierced through the glass, casting gentle rays of light and shadow throughout the room.
Too beautiful.
Li Chu thought in a daze, moving unconsciously, wanting to change position to better appreciate it.
Something felt wrong about that movement.
Li Chu’s sleepiness faded. He lifted his head to look and locked eyes with a pair of deep, profound eyes.
The man’s superior facial features were magnified infinitely in front of him, his slightly messy hair adding a touch of sexiness.
But this person was Shao Tingyue! His Second Uncle in name!
And himself… Li Chu looked down.
He was “hanging” on Shao Tingyue like a koala, his two legs hooked casually around the man’s waist, his arms wrapped tightly around his neck.
And his bottom was pressed against a certain spot. Li Chu slowly closed his eyes. It must be a dream; it has to be a dream.
Shao Tingyue did not know when he had woken up, or perhaps he had not really slept at all. He looked at him with deep eyes. “Awake?”
