- Chapter 3 - Electrocuted by the System
The palm of Lin Sui’s hand felt a slippery, icy chill. When he lowered his head, he saw the young man’s tense face and pale lips. Over a dozen whip marks on the youth’s body were shocking to behold as blood continued to seep out, causing Lin Sui’s heart to ache with intense pity.
Just as he was about to use his spiritual power to open his storage bag, a sudden, sharp pain pierced his heart. This served as a reminder of the consequences of his previous use of spiritual power. He turned his gaze toward Mo Bai and called out, “Fifth Senior Brother.”
Mo Bai pretended not to hear him. Feeling guilty, he turned his back and refused to look at Lin Sui.
Left with no recourse, Lin Sui could only offer low-voiced comfort to the youth. For some reason, he found it impossible to dislike the boy. Seeing the youth’s incredibly obedient appearance, Lin Sui’s heart felt as though it were melting.
He raised his hand to pat the youth’s head and, with a slight smile, handed his storage bag to the boy. His voice was very soft as he spoke.
“I cannot use my spiritual power right now. Can you open this storage bag yourself?”
The youth was stunned. He did not know what kind of trick the person in front of him was playing now. Was he trying to pretend to be a good master in front of the martial uncles?
It was laughable.
He had already recorded this man’s atrocities against him using a Shadow Recording Stone, yet he had only received a concluding remark from the Sect Leader stating that the person in the recording was not his master.
The Sect Leader told him to treat his master well, but what about his master? Had his master ever regarded him as a disciple?
At this thought, the urge to kill his master grew stronger within his heart. A dagger appeared in his palm. His gaze shifted, and he raised his hand to stab toward the man’s heart.
He clearly remembered stabbing this person’s heart at that time. The man should have died. Why was he still alive?
A sharp metallic clatter rang out.
Both the dagger and the youth were sent flying. His back slammed hard against the wall, and he spat out several mouthfuls of blood.
“Look at your wonderful disciple! I am still standing right here, yet he dares to try and kill you! Today, I shall clear the sect on your behalf!”
Su Zhanyun summoned his natal sword. In an instant, the room was filled with overflowing golden light. The pressure of the Transformation Stage forced the youth tightly against the floor.
As if he were oblivious to the pain, the youth used both hands to support himself, struggling to crawl up and look Su Zhanyun in the eye. The sound of bones snapping echoed, but he did not care in the slightest, even as blood flowed from his eyes and mouth.
“Is the Sect Leader going to kill me? That way, there will be no witness to the crime, will there?” After the youth finished speaking, he let out a low laugh.
Su Zhanyun was consumed with rage. The tip of his sword lunged directly toward the youth’s reddened brow.
When the blade was only an inch away from the youth’s forehead, silver-white spiritual power surged toward Su Zhanyun like a tide, slowing the sword that was about to enter the youth’s brow.
Su Zhanyun’s pupils constricted. He hurriedly withdrew his sword and turned around. He saw blood continuously overflowing from the corners of Lin Sui’s lips, staining his white inner robes a blood red. His icy eyes were dull and lifeless as they stared straight ahead.
“Sect Leader, this is my disciple. His life and death should be decided by me.” Lin Sui forcibly suppressed the rising blood in his throat. His tone was cold and unyielding.
“Fine! Fine! Fine!” Su Zhanyun uttered the word “fine” three times, each one heavier than the last. Seeing Lin Sui’s protective stance over the young cub, he finally let out a heavy sigh.
“I will not touch him, but you must enter secluded meditation. You must nurse that broken body of yours back to health!”
Lin Sui knew this was the greatest concession Su Zhanyun would make. However, in his heart, he could not let go of that youth. He looked ahead, and his tone softened.
“Sect Leader Senior Brother, please treat him well. Perhaps it is simply that I do not know how to lead a disciple, which caused him to hate me this much.”
The words “want to kill me” reached the tip of his tongue but were changed to “hate me this much.”
Su Zhanyun stared at the youth on the ground, who was bleeding from his seven facial orifices, with eyes full of loathing. He sneered, “Then let him start as an outer sect disciple. At that time, he can choose whichever master he wishes to follow! I only fear that with his current aptitude, he will be unable to enter the inner sect!”
Su Zhanyun made no attempt to hide his contempt for the youth. His words were full of mockery.
“Sect Leader Senior Brother! He is my disciple!” Lin Sui stood up in a panic. He fumbled at his waist for the youth’s disciple token. As his fingertips brushed over the recessed characters on the wooden plaque, a wordless bitterness surged in his chest.
“He is my disciple.” As if fearing Su Zhanyun had not heard him, Lin Sui repeated the words in a murmur.
“Lin Suizhi! Do not forget that I am the Sect Leader now! If you were not my Junior Brother, I could have bypassed you and killed this creature who betrayed his master and ancestors! I had no need to bring him here to ask for your opinion at all!”
Su Zhanyun was extremely angry. He could not understand how Lin Sui had been blinded by this little thing, risking his life repeatedly to save him. In his anger, he spoke without filtering his words. Only after he finished speaking did he feel regret.
Lin Sui’s expression froze. He stopped in his tracks and lowered his head. His voice became somewhat muffled.
“I understand, Sect Leader. Thank you, Sect Leader. I hope the Sect Leader treats him well.”
The three repetitions of “Sect Leader” stung Su Zhanyun so much that his heart felt as though it would explode. Finally, he laughed out of pure irritation.
“Suian, you simply want to provoke me to death!”
Lin Sui lowered his eyes and argued in a very small voice, “I do not.”
Su Zhanyun turned his head away, refusing to look at Lin Sui. He shouted aggressively at Mo Bai, who was standing to the side.
“Mo Bai, why are you still standing there like a fool? Do you not pity your Junior Brother very much? Can you not see that he can no longer stand up!”
After Su Zhanyun finished speaking, he used a sword strike to split the desk in the room in half. He looked fiercely at the youth, whose eyes were crimson as he stared deathly at Lin Sui, and said sternly, “Xiao Qingyan! Quickly thank your master.”
The youth called Xiao Qingyan raised his face, which was covered in bloodstains. His cracked lips curled into a mocking smile. “Thank him?”
“Ha! Thank him? Hahaha!” He laughed until his back arched and his shoulders shook. The blood that had stopped on his back began to seep out once more.
The hatred in his crimson eyes was so intense it seemed they might pop out. He tore open the clothing at his chest, revealing the freshly opened flesh over his heart. It was so deep that the white bone was visible.
“He injured me so severely, taking the blood from my heart every night and feeding me various insects. Just because I cannot feel pain, does he no longer view me as a human being?”
“He broke my bones one by one, just to stand aside and watch how I would heal.”
Xiao Qingyan stood up. Every word he spoke seemed to drip with blood. His broken fingers began to reconnect at an eerie speed.
A flash of strange astonishment crossed Mo Bai’s eyes. He immediately suppressed the thought in his mind and looked toward Lin Sui.
Lin Sui listened to each of the youth’s accusations, yet he found himself unable to defend himself. How could he possibly lay a hand on a child? Furthermore, it was so bloody and cruel. Was this not child abuse? Where he came from, child abuse was illegal!
He would not admit to it!
Seeing Lin Sui’s expression, which suggested it was not him, Xiao Qingyan laughed. He walked toward Lin Sui step by step. His hands did not stop as he began to remove his clothes piece by piece.
“Does Master dare to do it but not dare to admit it?”
Lin Sui could not see, but he could sense the youth approaching him step by step. He retreated a few steps in nervousness and hid behind Mo Bai. He grabbed Mo Bai’s arm so forcefully that his fingertips turned white.
[Ding!]
[The System has been rebound. Please, Host, take responsibility for all the evils committed by the original body.]
Lin Sui thought, “What on earth is this? Why should I admit to something I did not do!”

“Wait! Why is there a countdown!”

He wanted to prepare himself. He had never done these bad things, and he truly did not want to take the blame.
[Punishment beginning.]
A current of electricity swept through the tip of his heart. It was followed by a violent, stabbing pain that tightly enveloped his heart. Under the pain, his fingers spasmed into claws. This caused Mo Bai, who was standing in front of him, to tremble along with him.
“Junior Brother!”
Following Mo Bai’s cry, Lin Sui’s eyelids closed heavily.
