- After Redeeming the Villain, I Was Obliterated by the System
- Chapter 14 - Master is Going to Take Damage for His Disciple!
Lin Sui fell into a trance when the system told him he was on a flying vessel. Shouldn’t he have been in his bamboo cottage before fainting? How did he end up on a flying vessel?
Clutching the lotus flower that had manifested from between his brows, he looked like someone who had not fully woken up. Hearing footsteps, he called out, “Who is there?”
As soon as Xiao Qingyan entered, he saw Lin Sui leaning against the bed with his robes disheveled. The white bed curtains obscured half of his face, and the lotus on his forehead had reverted to a single cinnabar mole. His slender brows were furrowed, and his dry lips were pressed into a thin line. His dull eyes stared blankly ahead.
This expression truly resembled his Master to an extreme. Had he not hidden demonic energy within his Master’s body, he would have genuinely believed this was his Master. He remained silent, standing before Lin Sui. His intuition constantly told him that this youth must be connected to his Master.
He had already gathered a general understanding of Zhu Jiayu yesterday. Regarding Lin Sui, no matter how much he pried, he only received the information that the boy’s parents had been killed by demonic cultivators and that they had entrusted the boy to the sect on their deathbeds.
He stared at the natal flower in the youth’s palm, remaining silent for a long time. A youth possessing a natal flower could not possibly come from an ordinary family; why was he placed in the Outer Sect? Furthermore, his appearance was far too coincidental. Why was it that just as he was being kicked out of the Inner Sect, the youth’s family was killed by demonic cultivators and he was saved by an Outer Sect elder?
A slight smirk played on Xiao Qingyan’s lips. He stepped toward the youth and pulled back the drooping curtains. There was no rush, however. If this truly were his Master, he could take his time to toy with him. If it were not his Master, he did not mind becoming friends with the boy.
“Senior Brother Zhu?” Lin Sui was reaching his limit. He desperately wanted to ask what the villain intended by standing in front of him motionless. Had he still not dropped his suspicions? Had he known, he would have made up a different name.
“Senior Brother Xiao?”
“Mhm.” Xiao Qingyan snapped back to reality. He took the white silk from the bedside and tied it over Lin Sui’s eyes, giving a low response. Failing to control his strength, he pulled the silk so tight that the youth’s head tilted back. A low groan escaped Lin Sui’s throat, and his pink lips parted slightly.
The exhaled breath brushed against Xiao Qingyan’s chest. As if possessed by magic, it seemed to penetrate Xiao Qingyan’s clothes and cling to his skin, inexplicably sparking a flame that ran wild within his chest.
“Junior Brother Lin!” Zhu Jiayu’s voice rang out. Lin Sui tried to push Xiao Qingyan away, but unexpectedly, the man crouched down and untied his belt.
When Zhu Jiayu entered, he saw his peerlessly beautiful Junior Brother sitting there like an exquisite doll, obediently allowing Xiao Qingyan to handle him. Lin Sui had not originally wanted Xiao Qingyan to dress him, but the man had claimed he was the one who changed his clothes when he fainted. Lin Sui could not bring himself to be pretentious about it anymore. Since he could not see anyway, the most he felt was a bit of discomfort from the contact. He decided to just endure it.
He could not tell if Xiao Qingyan did not know how to dress someone or was doing it on purpose, as the man kept moving him back and forth yet had only managed to put on his inner robe. He grabbed Xiao Qingyan’s hand, but upon hearing Zhu Jiayu’s voice, he flinched, pulling Xiao Qingyan down onto the bed with him. The white bed curtains collapsed along with them.
“Ungh,” Lin Sui groaned in pain.
The disciples’ beds on the flying vessel were simple and hard. Lin Sui’s back hit the frame with a dull thud, and to make matters worse, someone was pressing down on top of him. Xiao Qingyan was in no hurry to get up. His hands pinned down Lin Sui’s scattered black hair, his fingers curling around the smooth strands.
The food box in Zhu Jiayu’s hand hit the floor with a thud. He stared at the two people on the bed in disbelief. A flush crept onto his face, and he covered his eyes as he ran out, shouting as he went, “Senior Brother Xiao, Junior Brother Lin, I did not see anything!”
Lin Sui desperately wanted to push Xiao Qingyan off and catch the shouting Zhu Jiayu. How was this any different from a guilty confession? Unfortunately, Xiao Qingyan’s hand was pressing directly against his left chest. He felt a strange, tingling sensation spread from there to his limbs, causing a groan to escape his lips.
“Senior, Senior Brother Xiao, you are hurting me.” Lin Sui could not budge him. The difference in their physiques was too great. As his hands touched Xiao Qingyan’s chest, he realized he was likely only half the man’s size. He could not help but curse the system in his heart. Why could it not give him a stronger body? If he were stronger, he could have pushed the villain away instead of lying here like a fish on a chopping block.
Xiao Qingyan did not miss the flickering expressions on Lin Sui’s face. Though the boy did not speak, he looked exactly like someone who was cursing in his head. He stood up slowly, ceasing his teasing, and properly dressed Lin Sui in his disciple robes. The blue-green cotton garment did not diminish the youth’s noble air; instead, it added a touch of approachability.
As Xiao Qingyan looked at Lin Sui, the image of his Master flashed through his mind again. His expression darkened, and with a flick of his finger, he activated the demonic energy left inside his Master’s body.
Lin Sui’s legs suddenly went weak. He slumped back onto the bed as a surge of heat rushed to his head, and a swelling ache centered below his waist felt as if it would explode. Noticing something was wrong, Xiao Qingyan saw Lin Sui flushing deep red while clutching his lower body.
“Junior Brother Lin, what is wrong?”
Lin Sui squeezed his eyes shut. It was too embarrassing to speak. How could he have a reaction out of nowhere? And why was Xiao Qingyan just standing there asking him what happened?
“Senior, Senior Brother Xiao, I, I,”
Xiao Qingyan soon realized what was happening. Assuming Lin Sui was just too shy to speak and remembering the boy was blind, he spoke with apparent sincerity, “Do you need me to help you?”
The moment those words left Xiao Qingyan’s mouth, the internal restlessness in Lin Sui went silent for a second. His mind went blank. Could you even help with this kind of thing? Thinking of the implications, Lin Sui’s face turned beet red. He bit his inner lip hard. “No, no need. Senior Brother Xiao should just go out.”
As he spoke, a heavy breath escaped his lips. Startled, Lin Sui bit his lip even harder to keep from making another sound.
“Are you sure you do not need help?”
Lin Sui replied, “I do not.”
What was this villain doing? He wanted to help? How? With his hands? Lin Sui had his own! Besides, if someone else held him like that, he was afraid he would go limp instantly from the shock.
Attributing it to shyness, Xiao Qingyan walked out of the room. Once the door closed, Lin Sui immediately entered the warm spring bath. What was wrong with him? Getting a reaction just from being touched by Xiao Qingyan? He did not believe for a second he was into men. It had to be that bastard Xiao Qingyan putting something in his body when he was not looking!
[Only 27 days remain to help the villain break through the Foundation Building stage.]
The system’s voice prompted in his mind. After resolving the heat and washing away the scent, Lin Sui left the bath. He then received a voice transmission from Zhu Jiayu.
“Junior Brother Lin, are you ready? We are almost there. If you are finished packing, I will tell Senior Brother Xiao to come get you.”
“Senior Brother Zhu, I am already prepared.” Lin Sui did not want any more contact with Xiao Qingyan, but he had no choice but to follow the system’s missions. He sighed, retracted the lotus into his forehead, and waited quietly for Xiao Qingyan. By now, the system had downloaded the upcoming plot to him before going offline.
“Junior Brother Lin, Senior Brother Feng sent me to get you,” Xiao Qingyan’s voice sounded, his footsteps drawing near.
Lin Sui froze. Senior Brother Feng? Was that the Outer Sect’s Eldest Senior Brother, Feng Feibai? The one who, in order to hog all the merit points, would trap Zhu Jiayu and Xiao Qingyan in an illusion and return to the sect alone? No wonder the system wanted him to go on this mission with Xiao Qingyan. It turned out this was a cannon fodder plot designed to trigger the first step of the villain’s blackening.
In the original story, Zhu Jiayu never expected Senior Brother Feng to abandon them. He felt immense guilt, believing Xiao Qingyan would not have been involved if it were not for him. Consequently, to save Xiao Qingyan, his heart was gouged out by the Peach Demon, and he became fertilizer for the peach tree. He became an eternal scar in the villain’s heart.
The system only provided specific character plots when Lin Sui encountered key figures or reached specific plot points. To this day, he still did not know who the Male Lead was. He only knew the general trajectory of Xiao Qingyan and the original host’s final fate. Thinking of this, Lin Sui could not help but curse the system for being useless again. How was he supposed to guide the villain onto the path of a hero if he did not even know who the hero was?
Regardless, the system would refresh missions periodically. Following them was his best bet.
The group disembarked from the vessel and arrived at the scholar’s residence. It was located in a remote alley, the door covered in orange-yellow sealing talismans that erupted with red light whenever a living being approached. Being led by Xiao Qingyan, Lin Sui keenly sensed two types of auras within the house. He could not distinguish them yet, but the smell made him feel physically ill, and he refused to take another step forward.
“Junior Brother Lin, why have you stopped?” Zhu Jiayu had been unusually excited throughout the two-day journey, completely unaware of how dangerous this mission was or that the good Senior Brother he admired was about to send him to his death for points.
“I think there is something inside the house,” Lin Sui said, trying to stop them.
Feng Feibai sneered, “Of course there is something inside. Otherwise, what is this mission for? Do you think this is a game?” His voice was dripping with disdain for Lin Sui. As he spoke, he pushed the weathered wooden doors open. They creaked loudly, and several peach blossoms drifted onto Feng Feibai’s shoulders as the door swung wide.
Feng Feibai strode into the courtyard. Zhu Jiayu followed closely, glancing back at the two holding hands and urging them on. “Hurry up! Senior Brother Feng is very strong! We just need to stay behind him.”
The youth placed absolute trust in his Senior Brother, chasing after him with bright eyes. Xiao Qingyan cast aside his reservations and led Lin Sui inside. Upon entering, they saw a massive peach tree in full bloom.
As the four entered, the fragrance of the blossoms intensified, feeling almost physical as it crowded into their lungs. The scent became thicker, clogging their nasal passages. Lin Sui’s breathing became labored. Realizing the tree was the problem, he raised a hand and cast a barrier to block out the fragrance.
Thud. Thud.
Feng Feibai and Zhu Jiayu collapsed simultaneously.
[Host, please take the place of the villain’s White Moonlight during this mission and block the Peach Demon’s attack for him.]
