“Snap!”
Inside the Demon Realm’s water prison, a dying young man hung from immortal-binding ropes as thick as an arm. His body was covered in a crisscross of bloody whip marks.
Standing before him was a man dressed in mysterious black silk, gripping a demonic whip overflowing with dark energy. The veins on the back of his hand bulged, and his fingertips turned white from the force of his grip.
The man’s blood-red eyes were filled with immense hatred. He raised the whip, and with the sound of tearing air, he lashed it across the young man’s mangled chest, causing the flesh of every existing wound to churn.
The young man’s slender hands had protruding knuckles, hanging down powerlessly. His silver hair clung messily to his cheeks; yet, even his deathly pale face could not hide his ethereal beauty.
His delicate, curved brows were tightly furrowed, and his thick eyelashes trembled with every breath. He bit his lip hard, refusing to let out a sound. However, under the excruciating agony, broken groans of pain escaped his throat.
“Heh,” the man’s thin lips moved, and a faint, cold sneer escaped him.
The demonic whip in his hand transformed into a long sword, its snow-bright tip pressing against the young man’s heart. Through the blade, the man could clearly feel the young man’s heartbeat vibrating against his palm. It was weak and slow.
The moment the sword tip pierced the skin, the man felt the pulse in his palm grow stronger.
“Ugh,” the young man groaned.
The sound spilling from his lips was hoarse. The man’s hand holding the sword could not help but tremble once before he thrust the blade even deeper into the heart.
The young man, who had been keeping his eyes tightly shut, suddenly snapped them open. The depths of his light blue pupils were filled with confusion.
Where am I?
“Master.” The man’s devil-like whisper made Lin Sui’s heart tremble violently.
At that call of “Master,” Lin Sui’s dilated pupils focused. The cinnabar mole between his brows appeared incredibly seductive against his deathly pale face.
Isn’t Xiao Qingyan the villain from my book? Lin Sui wondered. Why am I dreaming about the villain? And why is it from the male lead’s perspective?
He remembered that the male lead’s ending did not seem very good.
“Cough!”
The taste of iron surged up his throat. He could not stop himself from coughing up a mouthful of blood as the pain in his body swept over him in an instant. His fingers convulsed with agony. His heart hurt so much he wished he could rip it out himself.
“It hurts,” he murmured softly.
In his pain, his slender neck stretched taut. Five finger-shaped bruises covered his fair skin, and his green veins throbbed visibly.
“Does Master also know the meaning of pain?” Xiao Qingyan asked.
He gave the hilt of the sword a horizontal twist. Instantly, the young man’s face distorted with agony. His complexion became so pale and transparent that even the tiniest blood vessels were clearly visible.
Lin Sui’s brows knitted together in irritation. Isn’t that obvious? Why don’t you try it and see if it hurts?
“I really want to see if Master’s heart is black!” A smile suddenly bloomed on Xiao Qingyan’s blood-stained face.
Lin Sui was so startled by the smile that he coughed violently again. Cold air rushed into his throat, drawing out even more blood.
“Argh!”
He could clearly feel a hand clutching his heart, squeezing tighter and tighter, almost as if it were about to crush it.
Pain.
His mind was filled with nothing but pain, so much that he wished for death.
“Ah!”
A shrill scream escaped his mouth, prompting a low chuckle from the youth before him. He was actually being kept alive while Xiao Qingyan dug out his heart. Blood surged in his throat, and every part of his body shook uncontrollably.
Lin Sui’s eyelids drooped powerlessly. Blood spilled from the corners of his mouth, forming a string of bright red pearls that fell continuously onto his white collar, quickly blooming like blood-red plum blossoms.
His consciousness drifted, making everything feel surreal, yet the sensation of pain was undeniably real.
“原來師尊的心不是黑的啊!” Xiao Qingyan remarked, noting that his Master’s heart was not black after all.
Lin Sui had lost all his strength. If it were not for the iron chains binding him, he would have collapsed to the floor. He should not have killed off the male lead in a fit of pique last night. Now, retribution had come for him.
Seeing Xiao Qingyan holding his heart and moving closer and closer to him, he suddenly began to struggle frantically. If he remembered correctly, the death he had arranged for the male lead was extremely bloody and driven by a vengeful psychological state.
“Don’t,” Lin Sui managed to squeeze out a hoarse, hideous sound.
He did not want to eat his own heart. A single tear rolled down from the corner of his eye.
A cold fingertip pressed ruthlessly against his eye. “Master, why are you crying? Isn’t all of this exactly what you deserve?”
Lin Sui wanted to shake his head and say it was not true, but his cheeks were pinched by Xiao Qingyan, forcing his mouth open. The thick scent of blood invaded his nasal cavity. His inner terror reached its peak, and his light blue pupils trembled violently.
No!
He screamed in his mind, looking in horror at Xiao Qingyan’s eyes, which were filled with the pleasure of revenge. His hands and feet were icy cold.
Who will save him? Hurry!
As if heaven had heard his plea, a streak of golden light flew in from the air behind them. With the momentum of breaking bamboo, it aimed to pierce through Xiao Qingyan’s heart.
Xiao Qingyan dodged easily and tried to catch the fast-approaching golden sword. A large gash was sliced into his palm, yet it did nothing to stop the sword’s progress. The blade plunged straight into Lin Sui’s neck, leaving a bloody hole in his slender throat.
“Master!” The pleasure in Xiao Qingyan’s eyes was replaced by panic.
Lin Sui’s consciousness drifted dizzily into the air. A cold, mechanical voice sounded:
