- Chapter 32 - Seductive Specter (5) My Turn
Yan Jue was not blind. Catching a glimpse of Yan Yi smiling brilliantly at the empty air from the corner of her eye, her previous suspicions were confirmed: that ghost was right beside her brother.
In an instant, she felt the sweltering room drop in temperature. It became so cold that her skin broke out in goosebumps, and no amount of thick cotton clothing could ward off the chill. The primal human fear of the unknown and the supernatural rang alarm bells in her mind. Her veins felt swollen and tight, ready for a flight response at any second.
Yan Jue’s limbs were ice-cold, yet her mind raced with confusion.
Why can my brother see the ghost?
Yiyi was human just like her, not an exorcist. Was the ghost intentionally making himself visible only to Yiyi, or did her brother have a special constitution? If it was the latter, would it affect his health? Moreover, Yiyi looked as though he were deeply in love with this vengeful spirit. Could the ghost have placed some sort of curse or spell on him? Otherwise, how could her brother possibly fall for such a terrifying entity in such a short amount of time?
There had to be a problem. When Master Tang arrived tonight, she had to ask her to examine Yiyi carefully. If her brother was in pain because of a curse, or if he was truly destined to be entangled with a ghost forever, what would they do? Humans and ghosts walk different paths.
Yan Jue’s neck felt stiff and her heart hammered wildly against her ribs. She kept her gaze strictly averted to a corner, not daring to look around, but her thoughts churned incessantly.
Zhang Xiu continued to gesture to her, asking what was wrong with her brother and why he had suddenly smiled so happily at the empty space beside him. Yan Jue suppressed her fear and forced a smile. “Yiyi is fine, Mom. You just saw wrong. Let us get back to eating.”
Seeing this, Yan Yi also stepped forward to smooth things over. He did not want Zhang Xiu, who was already in poor health, to worry about him. “Mom, I am okay. My hand just stopped feeling numb, so I moved it. I just thought of something happy all of a sudden. Do not overthink it, and do not worry. Just eat your dinner.”
Lu Yinshen followed him closely, leaning softly against him. Seeing Yan Yi’s gestures, a smile spread across Zhang Xiu’s face, small wrinkles crinkling at the corners of her eyes. “Something happy? Does that mean you are seeing someone, Yiyi? What do they look like? Where do they live? How old are they? What is their personality like?”
In Feng Village, people usually referred to dating as “playing with a friend.” Her sign language was so fast it almost looked like she was forming mystical hand seals. Yan Yi watched her finish carefully, a smile touching his brow. He nodded. “Yes, they are a very good person. Very beautiful, lives very close to me, and is slightly older than me. Their personality is gentle, cute, considerate, and kind.”
Hearing this, Zhang Xiu smiled so widely her teeth showed. She strained her neck as much as she could to look behind him, but she could only see air. She teased him, “Dating is a good thing. Why did you not bring them for Mom to see?”
Her son falling in love was a joyous occasion. If she could see him settled before she passed, she could die happy and have plenty to talk about when she saw Old Man Yan in the afterlife. Aside from the moment Juejue and Yiyi were born, that old man had never been truly happy in his life. If he knew about this, he would be thrilled; otherwise, he would spend eternity frowning, and if he were reincarnated as a baby, he would probably look like a little old man.
Yan Jue lowered her head, her body trembling. She thought to herself: My brother has not just started dating; he is already married, and his partner has invited himself into our home unannounced.
Back before her father’s accident, when she was in middle school in the county town, she had been friends with a cheerful girl who invited her to a movie. It was a domestic horror film. After it ended, the friend complained that the fake blood was terrible, the acting was bad, and the plot was abysmal, especially the ending, which was a total waste of money.
But at that time, Yan Jue had only recently been exposed to electronics and did not even know cinemas existed. That first viewing experience was terrifyingly intense for her. For a long time afterward, she did not dare leave her hands or feet outside the blanket while sleeping, and she never walked slowly at night, always running. She harbored a deep psychological shadow regarding ghosts. She used to comfort herself by saying they were not real, but now a ghost was standing right there.
Since she could not see the specter’s face, she projected the terrifying, deathly pale faces from the movies onto him. In an instant, her fear intensified. Her shoulders hunched, and her throat felt dry and parched. Her brother had to live with this ghost. What if it hurt him? No, she had to contact Master Tang immediately and have this ghost transcended before things got worse.
Yan Jue made up her mind. Zhang Xiu continued to sign: “Why not bring your friend to see Mom? Mom wants to have a meal with the girl.”
Yan Yi wanted to show her Lu Yinshen too, but arms were wrapped around his waist. Lu Yinshen held him from behind, his long hair tangling with Yan Yi’s. His chin rested on Yan Yi’s shoulder as he drunkenly inhaled his scent. His hands moved restlessly, wandering over Yan Yi’s waist and abdomen. He did not look like a proper person at all.
If Zhang Xiu saw that her son had made such a “friend,” she would likely call the police to arrest this pervert for sexual harassment. Yan Yi looked at Zhang Xiu. “Mom, it is not convenient for him right now. When there is a chance in the future, I will definitely let you see him.”
Lu Yinshen could manifest, but in this situation, if he suddenly appeared, Zhang Xiu and Yan Jue would likely faint together. In their family’s self-taught sign language, there were different gestures for male and female. Yan Yi used the sign for a male. When Zhang Xiu first saw it, she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She hurriedly asked: “Yiyi, are you seeing a boy?”
Yan Yi’s eyes filled with affection. A gentle, soft smile spread across his lips, and joy leaped in his gaze. “Yes, Mom. My lover is a man.”
Zhang Xiu was silent for a long time before signing back: “Even if it is a boy, you should still invite him home for dinner.”
She of course wanted her children to marry and have children of their own, living happily ever after. But she knew her family’s situation. With a body like hers, she would only be a burden to Yiyi and Juejue. She could not help them with children. Even if they had kids, as long as she was alive, her children would have to endure the hardship of supporting both the old and the young. Her daughter and son were wonderful, but they were born into this family and dragged down by her. Zhang Xiu sighed inwardly with pity.
She did not know how much longer she had to live, and she did not want to make things difficult for her children while she was still here. She would not force them to have grandchildren. If he wanted to date a boy, then so be it, as long as Yiyi was happy. Yan Yi’s smile brightened. “Yes, I will bring him to see you later.”
He could pick a suitable time. If Lu Yinshen was willing, he would meet the family together. After feeding her, Yan Jue needed to turn her mother over to undress her and give her a massage. She looked elsewhere, avoiding Yan Yi’s gaze, and simply said, “Yiyi, go to your room and pack your things. If you are hungry, cook some noodles for yourself.”
The weather was too hot and they did not have a refrigerator, so cooked food spoiled easily. Since she had not known when Yiyi would be back, she had only prepared two portions of food for the evening. Yan Yi agreed. “Okay.”
As he left the room, the hem of his shirt lifted into the air, though it did not reveal any skin. Only after Yan Yi made a stroking motion did the corner of the clothes return to normal. Yan Jue’s heart skipped a beat. There was no wind in the house. Seeing her brother’s clothes move like that, she did not need to think hard to know whose handiwork it was. She quickly pulled her gaze back, suppressing her fear and curiosity, and strictly looked away.
Wait, why does that specter seem so lustful?
Yan Yi reached back and grabbed Lu Yinshen’s increasingly bold hand. He laced their fingers together, locking them tight to restrain him. Lu Yinshen indeed stopped moving and floated beside him, staying close. Aside from a bed, a stool, and some miscellaneous small items, there was no other furniture in Yan Yi’s room. Large pieces like the wardrobe and table had already been sent to the county town by Yan Jue that afternoon.
As soon as he entered the room, Yan Yi was pushed onto the bed by a mass of black hair. His back hit the wooden boards with a crisp thud, but fortunately, Lu Yinshen protected him, so it did not actually hurt. Since the house was not soundproof, Yan Yi did not use the flirtatious “Brother-in-law” title, lest Yan Jue hear him.
His black pupils were moist. He bit his lower lip and looked at Lu Yinshen piteously, whispering, “It hurts.”
Lu Yinshen hovered over him, pressing close. He nuzzled Yan Yi’s face affectionately to comfort him. This time, Yan Yi’s hands and feet were not bound, so he could use them freely. He rested his hands on Lu Yinshen’s back, feeling the touch of his spine through the fabric.
The red robes provided a striking visual impact. The body hidden beneath was as white as jade, making Lu Yinshen’s features look even more vivid and gorgeous. He truly lived up to the title of a “seductive ghost.” Long hair wound around each of Yan Yi’s fingers, smooth and cool. As their necks brushed together, a tickling sensation rippled out from his knuckles and spread through his heart.
Yan Yi’s shirt was pulled down, revealing a scattering of red marks. Lu Yinshen bowed his head lower. Learning from the images he had seen, he began to practice earnestly on Yan Yi’s body. Points of exquisite, rosy marks bloomed, opening with intense passion. Yan Yi tilted his head back, his neckline exposed and shoulders tensed. Irresistible, muffled moans escaped his lips. His fingers, tangled in the soft, cool strands of hair, struggled to relax so he would not grip too hard. While enduring the peak of his sensations, he had to devote most of his energy to taking care of the culprit’s feelings.
Lu Yinshen acted as if he suffered from skin hunger. After curling into Yan Yi’s embrace, he became obsessed with kissing every inch of his skin, drawing more reactions out of him. His lips and tongue grew increasingly bold, and his dark eyes became more glazed. As fingertips sank deeper into soft skin, Yan Yi felt that if he let this teasing continue, things would become truly dangerous.
The red robes were not as solid as ordinary fabric. Touching them felt more like an electric, tingly sensation. A small part of the sleeve was crumpled. Lu Yinshen was an unrefined student, but his efforts were more than enough for Yan Yi. Techniques and methods were mere additives. Love itself was the ultimate fuel. A single spark could set a vast wilderness ablaze, turning the sky a brilliant, vivid orange.
Lu Yinshen’s body was ice-cold, but his love was scalding. The heat made the air sizzle, turning the summer night into a humid, sweltering source of desire. He was left with only instinct, clumsy and reckless. Hair grew wildly. His back arched and relaxed, and his body rose and fell like a continuous range of mountains in the night. The hem of the white shirt was completely wrinkled, looking as though it had been tossed about in a washing machine.
A moan brushed against Yan Yi’s ear as the heat flowed. Lu Yinshen’s pupils widened slightly. He had not yet reacted to the change in their positions. With a suppressed voice, Yan Yi whispered into Lu Yinshen’s ear, his eyes dark with intensity. “Darling, have you kissed enough? Now, it is my turn.”
