- After Mistaking My Stepsister’s First Love
- Chapter 15 - Then... maybe you should bite me too, sister
Realizing what she had done, Ye Wenjin panicked instantly.
Yet Jian Mo turned to her at that moment and said softly, “Xiao Jin, you did very well.”
Ye Wenjin stared at her blankly. “R-Really?” She felt a pang of guilt. “But… sister, did I bite you too hard?”
Jian Mo raised a delicate brow. “What if I said it did hurt? What would you do then?”
Ye Wenjin froze again before lowering her head in shame. “I… I’m sorry. Then, maybe you should bite me too, sister.”
As she spoke, she reached up to push aside her hair, exposing the nape of her neck.
Jian Mo couldn’t help but curve her lips slightly, stopping her movement. “Alright, I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt.”
Ye Wenjin jerked her head up, brows furrowing. “Really? But… but it’s swollen there.”
Her words came out haltingly, her expression downcast, still convinced she had bitten too hard.
Then, two gentle pats landed on her head, full of reassurance.
Ye Wenjin looked up, her heart pounding heavily at the sight of Jian Mo’s tender expression.
Dazed for a second, she quickly snapped out of it, only to notice Jian Mo frowning as she searched for something clearly without success.
“Sister? What are you looking for?”
“A scent-blocking patch, but it seems there aren’t any left in the room.”
Ye Wenjin immediately stood up. “I’ll go ask Butler Wu for one.”
Without delay, she hurried out and ran into the anxious-looking butler.
“Butler Wu.”
Hearing her voice, Butler Wu quickly approached. “Miss Ye, how is Momo?”
Ye Wenjin explained the situation, and upon learning that Jian Mo had mostly stabilized, Butler Wu sighed in relief and promptly fetched a scent-blocking patch for her.
“Please take this to her, Miss Ye.”
Ye Wenjin shook her head hastily. “I’m just glad I could help.”
With that, she took the patch and rushed back. She was about to push the door open directly but paused at the last moment, opting to knock instead. Only after hearing a response did she enter.
In that short time, Jian Mo’s complexion had mostly returned to normal. Seeing her recover, Ye Wenjin relaxed slightly.
“Sister, I brought the scent-blocking patch.”
Jian Mo nodded and casually swept her long hair aside. “Help me put it on.”
The gesture made Ye Wenjin hesitate again, but she quickly regained her composure. Tearing open the packaging, she leaned in closer, focusing intently as she applied the patch.
The circular patch covered the Omega’s gland completely, blending seamlessly with the skin and concealing the bite mark and slight swelling.
The lingering pheromones in the air were gradually dissipating. Finally freed from their overwhelming presence, Ye Wenjin exhaled quietly in relief.
But after being entwined with Jian Mo’s pheromones for so long, while she logically understood that Jian Mo withdrawing them was necessary, emotionally, she couldn’t help feeling reluctant.
Before being drawn back, those pheromones had stretched toward her, as if unwilling to leave proof that she wasn’t the only one reluctant.
However, the moment she recognized her own thoughts, Ye Wenjin held her breath in alarm, not daring to dwell on it further.
By the time everything returned to normal, she had finally shaken off the lingering effects of the pheromones.
After the matter was resolved, Ye Wenjin belatedly felt a wave of awkwardness, making it hard for her to stand still.
After a brief pause of two seconds, realizing she was standing too close to Jian Mo, Ye Wenjin suddenly took a step back. “Sister, since you’re fine now, I won’t disturb you any longer.”
Jian Mo’s eyes flickered slightly, as if she had something to say, but in the end, she simply nodded. “Mm, go ahead.”
So Ye Wenjin obediently turned around. However, as she walked toward the door, a conflicted expression surfaced on her face.
It wasn’t until she opened the door that she finally made up her mind. Turning back to look at Jian Mo, she said, “Sister, it’s getting late. You should rest soon.”
After a brief hesitation, she added in a small, embarrassed voice, “Goodnight, Sister.”
The smile on Jian Mo’s lips deepened. “Mm, goodnight.”
Having received a response, Ye Wenjin hurriedly left, afraid that if she stayed even a second longer, Jian Mo might hear the frantic pounding of her heart.
Dazed, she stepped out and immediately spotted Butler Wu, who had been waiting by the door the entire time.
Seeing this, Ye Wenjin quickly said, “Butler Wu, Sister is fine now. You should go rest too.”
Butler Wu visibly relaxed and smiled. “As long as our guest, Miss Ye, hasn’t retired for the night, my duties aren’t over yet. Miss Ye, let me show you to your room.”
Ye Wenjin froze for a moment before remembering she had no idea where to go. She nodded. “Alright, thank you, Butler Wu.”
Butler Wu smiled warmly. “No trouble at all. Please follow me.”
Ye Wenjin trailed behind as they passed Jian Mo’s study and another room before Butler Wu finally stopped.
“This will be your room. The ensuite bathroom is stocked with toiletries, and sleepwear has been prepared for you. Please take a look, and if you need anything else, don’t hesitate to call for me.”
Ye Wenjin waved her hands hurriedly. “This is more than enough. I don’t think I’ll need anything else. It’s late, you should go rest too, Butler Wu.”
With a polite nod, Butler Wu took his leave.
Once inside the room, Ye Wenjin felt her entire body relax. Without wasting time, she headed straight for the bathroom to freshen up.
But… when she caught sight of herself in the mirror, she fell silent.
So… she had been wearing this outfit, without even showering, while interacting with Sister?
Her face flushed crimson in an instant, a mix of regret and embarrassment washing over her.
Though the situation had been urgent, she couldn’t help but feel she’d been far too improper. Would Sister… think less of her?
Ye Wenjin squeezed her eyes shut, the sheer mortification slowly tinting her entire body a faint pink.
Her face burned with shame, the heat stubbornly refusing to fade.
After standing in awkward silence for what felt like ages, she finally accepted reality and began her nighttime routine with an eerily calm expression.
By the time she finished, at least her complexion had returned to normal.
But all this had taken so long that it was nearly midnight. If she didn’t sleep soon, she’d struggle to wake up the next day.
Ye Wenjin hastily cleared her mind of all wandering thoughts and climbed into bed.
Given everything that had happened today, she expected to lie awake, but to her surprise, she fell asleep almost instantly.
The blankets were warm and fragrant, as if lulling her into tranquility.
She slept soundly and woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and energized more comfortable than she’d ever been before.
She hadn’t slept this well in a long time, perhaps it had something to do with the fragrance she had noticed.
After freshening up, Ye Wenjin opened her door just as Jian Mo was stepping out from the adjacent room. It was then she realized that Butler Wu had arranged for her to stay right next to Jian Mo’s room.
Ye Wenjin froze for a second before quickly snapping out of it, obediently greeting, “Good morning, sister.”
Jian Mo’s lips curved into a smile. “Good morning, Xiao Jin. Let’s go down for breakfast.”
Ye Wenjin nodded and followed her downstairs.
When they reached the dining room, Butler Wu was meticulously arranging the dishes. Upon seeing her, he immediately smiled warmly. “Good morning, Miss Ye. Did you sleep well last night?”
Ye Wenjin nodded. “I slept very well.” Then, with a hint of curiosity, she asked, “Butler Wu, does the fragrance on the bedding in my room have a calming effect?”
The thought had occurred to her after hearing Butler Wu’s question, as she had indeed slept more soundly than usual.
Butler Wu glanced subtly in his young mistress’s direction before replying kindly, “Yes, it does. I’m glad you liked it, Miss Ye.”
Ye Wenjin didn’t notice the glance and nodded gratefully. “Thank you, Butler Wu. I appreciate your thoughtfulness.”
Being treated with such care was a first for Ye Wenjin, and it left her feeling warm inside.
After breakfast, Jian Mo drove Ye Wenjin back to school. Just as she was about to get out of the car, Jian Mo called out to her.
“Xiao Jin, could you send me a copy of your class schedule?”
Without questioning, Ye Wenjin immediately forwarded her schedule.
Jian Mo glanced at it and thought for a moment. “You don’t have classes on Thursday morning.”
Ye Wenjin was puzzled but nodded obediently.
“Good. Then we’ll go register our marriage on Thursday.”
Ye Wenjin’s eyes widened slowly.
Jian Mo looked at her and said softly, “Did you forget about registering our marriage, Xiao Jin?”
Ye Wenjin snapped back to attention. “No, I didn’t forget! I’ll follow your lead, sister.”
Jian Mo smiled slightly. “Alright, off you go.”
And so, Ye Wenjin stepped out of the car as if walking on clouds, her mind buzzing with one thought,
This time, she was really going to register her marriage with sister!
