After Mistakenly Marking Her Stunning Omega Stepsister - Chapter 9
As the words hung in the air, Wen Xiangzhu’s gaze shifted.
“Really?”
Her lips trembled. “Really.”
A long silence followed. Wen Xiangzhu’s hair, now dry, draped casually over her chest. Her small face looked pale and delicate, her expression complex, her thoughts unreadable.
Uncomfortable, Lin Sui averted her gaze. “You should go inside soon. You’ll catch a cold.”
“Mm.”
Wen Xiangzhu lowered her eyes and nodded, then stepped inside.
Lin Sui stood frozen in place, hesitating for what felt like an eternity.
Has the smell in the room dissipated…?
After steeling herself, Lin Sui finally stepped inside.
The overpowering scent of red wine had faded considerably. Wen Xiangzhu was seated at the dressing table, head bowed over her phone, showing no intention of leaving.
Lin Sui’s eyebrow twitched. She suddenly felt like she didn’t belong here. The way Wen Xiangzhu was acting, it was as if she were the guest in this room!
Something’s not right here…
This is definitely wrong!
It felt like two little people were fighting inside Lin Sui’s head.
Before she could recover, Wen Xiangzhu looked up at her.
“Why aren’t you coming over, Sister?”
Lin Sui glanced at her. The tips of her fingers, hanging at her sides, curled slightly. With a composed expression, she walked over. “Aren’t you tired?”
Wen Xiangzhu shook her head gently and smiled. “Do you have plans tomorrow, Sister?”
“No…” Lin Sui paused. “What do you want to do?”
“The dorm assignment list has already been posted in the group chat. You haven’t checked it yet, have you?” As she spoke, Wen Xiangzhu leaned back further. “If you don’t have anything else to do tomorrow, Sister, I can help you pack.”
“It’s just a shame that Omegas and Alphas can’t live in the same dorm.”
Lin Sui was taken aback. “You want to live in the same dorm as an Alpha?”
“Uh…” Wen Xiangzhu blinked. “I want to live with you, Sister.”
Lin Sui didn’t expect her to say that and choked on her words. “Forget it. Even if we didn’t live in the dorms, we could never live together.”
“Why not? You slept with me that night when it was thundering,” Wen Xiangzhu said, her small face furrowing in displeasure.
“What nonsense! I didn’t sleep with you!” Lin Sui’s eyes widened. She took a deep breath and sat down beside her, trying to reason with her. “You insisted on sleeping in my room. I didn’t do anything.”
“Sister did something, and you’re denying it,” Wen Xiangzhu muttered, pouting.
Lin Sui’s vision went dark. “What… what did I do?”
“Sister felt sorry for me and carried me to bed to sleep,” Wen Xiangzhu said, looking up at her with a mischievous grin.
Lin Sui remained silent, her heart clenching. How hadn’t she seen how cunning this girl was before?
Sighing, she turned to search for her phone. Where had she put it when she was showering?
Wen Xiangzhu watched her search for a moment before suddenly speaking up. “Sister, are you looking for your phone? It’s right here.”
She pointed to the dressing table.
Following her gesture, Lin Sui saw her phone resting safely on the table.
“Sister, I didn’t touch it,” Wen Xiangzhu said, blinking with a teasing glint in her eyes. “But I am curious… does your phone have secrets?”
Lin Sui glanced at her, then walked over, sidestepping Wen Xiangzhu to grab her phone. “Does your phone have secrets?” she countered.
“Of course,” Wen Xiangzhu replied with a smile. “But if Sister wants to look, the password is…”
“Stop.”
Lin Sui cut her off hastily. “I don’t want to know. I’m not interested.”
With that, she sat back down on the bed, lowered her head, and opened her phone, scrolling through the allocation chart Wen Xiangzhu had mentioned.
The high school had four dormitory buildings, two for Alphas and two for Omegas.
Lin Sui found her name and Zhu Huan’s in the same dorm room in Building 1. She instinctively flipped through the list until she saw Wen Xiangzhu’s name in Building 3, then stopped.
Realizing her behavior was a little strange, she felt inexplicably annoyed.

After a moment, she turned off her phone and looked at Wen Xiangzhu. “I’m going to bed. You can leave now.”
The latter blinked, the light in her eyes dimming slightly. “Okay… then I’ll come tomorrow to help you pack, Sister.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Lin Sui frowned, wanting to say there was no need. But as if Wen Xiangzhu had anticipated this, she quickly stood up, left the room, and closed the door behind her, leaving no chance for Lin Sui to refuse.
Looking at the suddenly empty room, she pressed her lips together, quickly dismissing the thought that had just popped up.
Forget it. Let her do what she wants.
That night, Lin Sui found herself unusually unable to sleep.
The moment she closed her eyes, the scent of Wen Xiangzhu’s pheromones filled her nose, and her mind was flooded with images of Wen Xiangzhu standing before her, her face flushed and hair damp.
This is unbearable. This really has to stop.
As a teenage Alpha, the temptation was overwhelming.
This solidified her resolve to move into the school dormitory.
I have to move! I absolutely must move! I’m moving out for sure!
Insomnia left her groggy the next day, and she didn’t wake up until noon, spending the morning catching up on sleep.
When she finally checked her phone, she realized it was already late afternoon.
The restless night had also given her a headache. She lay in bed in a daze until 1 PM, when her growling stomach forced her to get up.
Just as she finished changing and brushing her teeth, someone knocked on the door.
“Sister, are you awake?”
Lin Sui found it odd—how did this person always manage to knock just as she finished getting ready?
“Come in. The door’s unlocked.”
Wen Xiangzhu nudged the door open with her elbow and smiled at Lin Sui, who was sitting at the dressing table. “Sister must be hungry! Try my freshly baked cake!”
After speaking, she quickly entered the room and placed the plate and glass of milk on the table.
The plate held steaming paper cup cakes, with mountain hawthorn berries sprinkled on top as garnish.
Lin Sui was indeed hungry, but she hesitated, feeling awkward about accepting the food.
Seeing her just staring blankly at the cakes, Wen Xiangzhu blinked in confusion.
“Sister, are they not good?”
“No,” Lin Sui blurted out before she could think.
“Then why aren’t you eating them?” Wen Xiangzhu’s voice carried a hint of hurt. “At least try one…”
Lin Sui took a deep breath, forcing a smile. “I was just lost in thought.”
With that, she picked up a cup cake and took a bite.
Wen Xiangzhu’s eyes lit up. “How is it?”
“Mm, delicious,” Lin Sui said, picking up the milk and taking a sip.
Seeing this, Wen Xiangzhu smiled contentedly. Her gaze then swept the room, settling on a black suitcase in the corner of the desk.
“Is this the suitcase you’re using this time, Sister?”
Lin Sui glanced sideways. “Yes, but I haven’t packed yet.”
“I’ll help!” Wen Xiangzhu said, quickly pulling the suitcase out, laying it flat on the ground, and opening it.
“Wait.”
Lin Sui jumped, startled. She quickly set down what she was holding, stood up, and walked to the wardrobe. “I haven’t organized my wardrobe yet. I don’t know which clothes to bring…”
“That’s okay, Sister. I’ll watch over you. Just tell me what you need, and I can help you organize your wardrobe while I’m at it.”
Wen Xiangzhu smiled sweetly, looking at her with innocent eyes.
Lin Sui hesitated.
Usually, the housekeeper took care of organizing, but she could only tolerate someone coming in to clean. If anyone touched her things… she really would lose her temper.
So her wardrobe was a bit messy…
Still, Lin Sui couldn’t shake her reservations.
How could she let this unfamiliar younger sister see her messy wardrobe? She felt a little embarrassed.
“No need, I’ll tidy it myself,” Lin Sui said firmly after a moment’s thought.
Seeing this, the smile on Wen Xiangzhu’s face faded slightly. “Are you sure you don’t want any help?”
“No, I’m sure.” Lin Sui looked at her earnestly. “You can go ahead and leave.”
“Alright…” Wen Xiangzhu lowered her gaze and shuffled out slowly, looking quite dejected.
Lin Sui glanced at her, her expression softening. Unable to bear it, she called out, “Oh, and thank you for the cake. I really liked it.”
Wen Xiangzhu paused, turned back to look at Lin Sui, and her smile returned.
“Well, I’ll head out then.”
“Mm.”
After Wen Xiangzhu left, Lin Sui closed the door and opened the wardrobe. Staring at the tangled heap of clothes, she fell into deep thought.
******
The day before school started, Uncle Wang drove Lin Sui and Wen Xiangzhu to a spot near the school gate.
Dragging their suitcases, the two walked slowly toward the campus.
Wen Xiangzhu followed behind Lin Sui, her head bowed, lost in thought.
After a moment, she quickened her pace and caught up. “Sister,” she called out.
“Once we move into the dorms, can I visit you?”
Lin Sui paused, momentarily taken aback.
“Visit me?”
Wen Xiangzhu nodded. “Yeah.”
“Why would you want to visit?” Lin Sui asked, then added, “Just talk to me during class breaks. There’s no need to go to the dorms for that.”
Wen Xiangzhu pouted and lowered her head dejectedly, falling silent.
As they approached the school gate, they parted ways.
Lin Sui collected her dorm keycard and key. When she arrived at the dormitory with her suitcase, Zhu Huan and her two other roommates were already there.
“You made it,” Zhu Huan greeted her, then turned to her roommates. “This is Lin Sui. You’ve heard about her, right?”
“Of course! I heard Lin Sui won an award in the provincial black belt tournament. I even came to your classroom to see you!” A girl with a low ponytail and gold-rimmed glasses looked at Lin Sui with admiration. “You’re amazing!”
Being praised immediately upon arrival made Lin Sui feel a little embarrassed. She smiled and waved her hand. “No, no, it wasn’t a big deal.”
“I forgot to introduce myself,” Xia Yi said with a slightly embarrassed smile, her low ponytail swaying. “I’m Xia Yi, an Alpha, and the study committee representative for Class Five.”
She then pointed to the quiet, short-haired girl sitting beside her. “This is Ye Shuqian, also from Class Five. She’s a Beta.”
Ye Shuqian smiled shyly, looking quite reserved. “Hello.”
Lin Sui nodded in greeting. She couldn’t shake the feeling that Ye Shuqian looked somewhat familiar, but she couldn’t remember where they might have met. And there was something about Ye Shuqian’s demeanor that made her seem… a little afraid of Lin Sui.
After exchanging contact information, Lin Sui found her bed and began unpacking her belongings.
Zhu Huan, on the other hand, was in high spirits, chatting animatedly with Xia Yi. It was hard to imagine where they were finding so much to talk about.
After what felt like an eternity, Lin Sui finally finished unpacking. She turned on her phone and scrolled through the forum.
For some reason, Chen Huaxing’s failed confession post from before the mid-term exam had resurfaced, now marked with a “HOT” tag.
Curious, Lin Sui clicked through and discovered the guy had posted again:
[Family, tomorrow the mid-term results come out. If my rank is higher than that Omega’s, I’ll give her another chance! Family, wait for me!]
[Just say so if you want to keep licking. Oh, and don’t say you’re from Class Five when you leave.]
[Hmm? Who from Class Five?]
The comment section figured it out ages ago. Scroll up and read the earlier replies.
Reading this, Lin Sui narrowed her eyes and tilted her head, her gaze passing over Xia Yi to lock onto Ye Shuqian.
“If I’m not mistaken, Chen Huaxing is in your class, right?”
