After Mistakenly Marking Her Stunning Omega Stepsister - Chapter 19
Before long, Ye Shuqian arrived at the classroom door, carrying a bag.
“Sister Suisui?”
Hearing the voice, Lin Sui, who was chewing on a piece of bread, looked up and gestured for her to come in.
Wen Xiangzhu’s seat was conveniently empty and close to Lin Sui, so Ye Shuqian headed straight for it.
“Keep it down,” Lin Sui reminded her, nodding toward Wen Xiangzhu, who was still asleep.
“Okay.” Ye Shuqian lowered her voice and nodded, curious about the relationship between Lin Sui and Wen Xiangzhu but not daring to ask.
She sat down and opened her bag. “I brought some snacks and drinks.”
Zhu Huan glanced up, then looked at Lin Sui, remaining silent.
Lin Sui nodded. “Just stay here.”
“Then, during the afternoon competition…” Ye Shuqian murmured, pursing her lips.
Lin Sui paused before saying, “If you want to come to our class’s viewing area, you’re welcome.”
“Okay, thank you, Sister Suisui,” Ye Shuqian sighed in relief, quickly thanking her.
After all, they shared a dorm room. Ye Shuqian hadn’t intended to withhold information, and there was really no need to make a fuss.
Zhu Huan rubbed her eyes, yawned, and laid her head on the table to sleep.
Lin Sui glanced at her but wasn’t in the mood to sleep. Bored, she mindlessly scrolled through her phone apps.
For some reason, she clicked into the comments section of that short story again.
The book wasn’t particularly popular, so she quickly scrolled through all the comments. One caught her eye:
[Is this a happy ending (HE) or a bad ending (BE)?]
[Author’s Reply: It depends on her.]
It depends on her?
What did that mean?
“Hmm?”
A voice brought Lin Sui back to reality. She looked up and saw Wen Xiangzhu awake, looking at Ye Shuqian, who was sitting beside her, with a puzzled expression.
Ye Shuqian looked at Wen Xiangzhu, a little shy, the tips of her ears turning red.
“Um… Hello, we’ve met before. Do you remember me?”
Ye Shuqian was mentally screaming. From a distance, she hadn’t noticed, but sitting so close now, she realized that this Omega, Wen Xiangzhu, was truly stunningly beautiful—especially now, just waking up…
Even a Beta like her could feel her heart racing.
Wen Xiangzhu blinked blankly, thinking for a moment. “You’re… Lin Sui’s roommate.”
“Right, right.”
“But you’re not like Feng Yue…”
Hearing this, Ye Shuqian quickly said, “I’m nothing like her!”
Wen Xiangzhu pursed her lips and turned uneasily to look at Lin Sui. After receiving a reassuring nod, she turned back. “Mm… Thank you for speaking up for me today.”
“It was nothing, really…”

The high jump competition was scheduled for the next morning. Wen Xiangzhu, still recovering from her injury, withdrew from the event.
When the announcement called for high jump competitors to enter the field, Lin Sui appeared in only a pair of neatly fitting shorts, intending to compete in that attire.
Zhu Huan frowned and tugged at her sleeve. “Aren’t you going to change into long pants?”
“Long pants would be too restrictive,” Lin Sui said with a helpless smile. “Don’t worry. It’s still early, and there’s no sun yet. Even if it gets hot later, I’ll have them move the equipment into the shade.”
Zhu Huan fell silent for a moment.
Is this the true strength of a No. 1 High School bully?
“Alright, I was just overthinking things,” Zhu Huan admitted.
Lin Sui chuckled and waved her off. “Alright, I’m off.”
“Wait!” Wen Xiangzhu’s eyelashes fluttered as she suddenly called out.
Lin Sui paused and turned to look at her, puzzled.
Wen Xiangzhu smiled sweetly. “Good luck! I’ll be watching the competition.”
Lin Sui stared at her for a moment.
“Okay.”
When Lin Sui arrived at the track and field, she spotted Wen Xiangzhu waiting behind the railing.
She was still in her wheelchair, watching in Lin Sui’s direction.
Suddenly, the announcement came over the loudspeaker:
[The following is an encouraging message from an unnamed student in Second Year, Class Five, addressed to someone:]
[You are like the luminous full moon in the sky, like a shining star in the Milky Way, like…]
Lin Sui’s eyes twitched.
How nauseating.
Throughout the day, with Wen Xiangzhu temporarily unable to keep up due to her leg condition, Ye Shuqian had taken her place, tagging along with Lin Sui for everything except the competition, as if seeking a measure of security.
The classmates watched them with curious eyes, their gazes filled with the eager anticipation of spectators waiting for a juicy drama.
“Wasn’t Lin Sui dating Wen Xiangzhu? Who’s this new girl in the picture?”
“Could she also have a crush on Lin Sui?”

The class buzzed with gossip.
Lin Sui didn’t care, and Ye Shuqian, busy avoiding people, could also ignore it.
But Wen Xiangzhu was different.
She was about to explode with anger.
“Why should I care?” Wen Xiangzhu glared at Ye Shuqian, who was hovering so close she even followed her to the restroom. Her small face twisted in frustration.
Lu Xiaomeng blinked, then whispered, “Weren’t you the same way before?”
“I…”
Wen Xiangzhu choked back her words, averting her gaze. “That’s different!”
Lu Xiaomeng chuckled, but continued earnestly, “I just think… Lin Sui is hard to read. Even if you’re on good terms with her, it’s best not to take things too seriously.”
When the photo first surfaced, Wen Xiangzhu and Lu Xiaomeng had explained it as “a visit to Lin Sui’s home.”
Lu Xiaomeng had believed it, still convinced there was nothing between them. But she could see the difference in Wen Xiangzhu’s attitude toward Lin Sui.
“What do you mean?” Wen Xiangzhu frowned, looking at her oddly.
Lu Xiaomeng sighed. “Wenwen, don’t you know that someone like Lin Sui, with her family background, is likely destined for a business marriage?”
Wen Xiangzhu’s eyelashes fluttered, a chill spreading through her heart.
How could she not know? She even knew Lin Sui already had a fiancée…
“So what?”
Wen Xiangzhu pursed her lips stubbornly. “The future is the future, and the present is the present. We can’t stop trying just because of a possible future, can we?”
Lu Xiaomeng pondered this for a moment. “That’s true.”
When it came time for the awards ceremony, Ye Shuqian returned to her class, trembling with fear.
Lin Sui listened dully as the Vice Principal droned on, delivering meaningless awards. Bored to the point of drowsiness, she didn’t immediately return to her seat, instead lingering at the back of the hall.
As expected, after the awards were presented, the Dean of Students stepped onto the stage with a microphone.
After some perfunctory pleasantries, she got to the point: “Recently, there’s been a lot of gossip spreading through the school, causing quite a stir.”
“I must reprimand a certain student from Second Year, Class One. Other students have reported seeing you involved in an early romance, and they even have photos. Let this serve as a reminder to all: early romance is not advisable…”
Lin Sui listened for a moment, then set her awards aside and strolled onto the stage, fixing her gaze on the Dean of Students. “A certain student from Second Year, Class One? Who exactly are you talking about?”
