After Losing My Memory, I Went After My Archenemy - Chapter 25
At that moment, both faces began to heat up rapidly.
An hour later, as instructed by her uncle, Lin Xi properly saw off the two Omegas, then went to the rooftop alone to clean up.
“Are you keeping something from me?”
Shen Xuan walked up.
Her hand movements paused slightly, and Lin Xi changed the subject, “I thought you had already left.”
“I was going to, but then I suddenly thought of something halfway and decided to come up and ask for clarification.”
Shen Xuan walked closer and was surprised to find Lin Xi’s cheeks unusually flushed, “What did you do? Why is your face so red!”
The Alpha touched her face self-consciously, then lowered her head unnaturally, “What could I have done?”
Shen Xuan suddenly realized something, “Did something happen tonight when you and Xia Rou were alone on the rooftop? Oh, I get it now. Uncle Zhou was intentionally trying to create an opportunity for you two. But hasn’t that Omega always regarded you as a mortal enemy? When did your relationship become so intimate behind my back?”
“…” Lin Xi simply stopped what she was doing and asked seriously, “Where do you see that we’re intimate?”
Shen Xuan was not deterred at all, “Compared to your previous water-and-fire relationship, this is very intimate now.”
Lin Xi: “…”
“Seriously, be honest with me. Have you always had feelings for her?” Shen Xuan asked.
Lin Xi resumed cleaning, ignoring her question.
Shen Xuan simply crossed her arms and condescendingly said, “Forget it, I know even if you don’t say anything. Alphas find it hard to resist an Omega’s pheromone temptation, especially since you two have such a naturally perfect compatibility rating. I can understand you not being able to control yourself.”
She was met with a glare after she spoke.
Lin Xi clenched her fist: “I can control myself very well.”
Shen Xuan waved her hand dismissively, not pressing further, and quietly stepped forward to help carry the cleaned dishes downstairs.
A slightly tipsy Xia Rou was taken home by Shen Miao.
Facing the interrogation of Xia Rou’s parents, Shen Miao gave vague answers.
“You never drink.”
Xia Jianye stepped forward with concern but was abruptly pushed away by Xia Rou, who glared back, “None of your business.”
Watching her daughter stagger upstairs, Wu Daiyun quickly followed. Fortunately, her daughter did not refuse her assistance.
“Are you still angry about what happened last time? Even so, you shouldn’t punish yourself by drinking.”
After helping her wash up and tucking her into bed, Wu Daiyun sat by the bed and spoke earnestly.
“I didn’t drink because I was sad; I drank because I was happy.”
Xia Rou smiled at the woman.
Wu Daiyun was momentarily stunned. She could tell the truth; her daughter wasn’t lying. She quickly realized something and asked cautiously and curiously, “Did things progress well with the person you like?”
“Mmm, I suppose so…” Xia Rou said, covering her face shyly with both hands.
“Can you tell me what kind of person he/she is?”
Xia Rou shook her head in embarrassment.
“Well, you must at least tell me if it’s a male Alpha or a female Alpha,” Wu Daiyun added.
“A female Alpha.” After a pause, Xia Rou couldn’t help but say, “Mom, if—I mean, if I could be with the person I like, but this person’s family background doesn’t meet your requirements, would you object?”
“I don’t care what your father thinks. Right now, I only want my daughter to find her own happiness. As for money, our family is already wealthy enough. Looking around the entire Linlu City, no one is richer than us.”
“Thank you, Mom~” Xia Rou hugged the woman, feeling happy and touched.
“President, a new person wants to join our club.”
Lin Xi looked up at the sound. The newcomer brought in by the club member was none other than Xia Rou.
“Our club doesn’t accept members who are just doing it for fun.” Lin Xi tried to politely refuse her with this single sentence.
“I’m not planning to just play around. I’ve already bought some photography equipment.”
Xia Rou moved a large bag from behind her and sequentially displayed the various pieces of equipment inside.
“It’s very comprehensive, perhaps even overly so,” the male Beta club member next to them couldn’t help but sigh.
Lin Xi felt helpless but no longer had a valid reason to refuse, or it would appear as personal prejudice.
“Go fill out this form.” She tossed a club application form to Xia Rou.
Xia Rou officially joined the school’s photography club. Coincidentally, the club was having its weekly meeting that day, where members proposed using an upcoming holiday for a full-club field trip for photography.
Regarding the location, opinions differed.
Some wanted to stay around Linlu City—close by and wouldn’t cost too much.
Others felt they had already photographed the Linlu City area too much and wouldn’t find any new, stunning material, suggesting a place farther away.
This raised the issue of finances: accommodation, food, travel expenses, and so on.
Seeing everyone at a loss, Xia Rou, sitting in the corner, couldn’t help but raise her hand and weakly suggest, “How about I cover the expenses for this trip?”
Although Lin Xi disagreed, the majority rules, and everyone certainly wouldn’t refuse or reject Xia Rou, the “money bag” who was willing to contribute financially.
The location for the club activity was thus decided, with the departure date set for three days later.
“You have a school anniversary holiday in two days. Your dad thought it’s been a while since the three of us went on vacation together, so he wants to take us to the beach. What do you think, Rou Rou?” Wu Daiyun asked on the evening of school dismissal.
Xia Rou could tell her father wanted to mend their relationship, but she wasn’t ready to let go of the previous incident that quickly, so she decided to be honest:
“I have something to do and need to go out during the holiday.”
“Go out? Where to?” Wu Daiyun asked, concerned.
“I joined a club at school—the photography club. We’re going out for a field trip during this holiday. The location is quite far from Linlu City, and we have to leave early on the first day of the holiday.”
Upon learning the specific location, Wu Daiyun’s eyes were filled with worry, “Is it safe to go somewhere so far away?”
“Don’t worry, Mom. There are lots of people in the club. Nothing will happen.”
Unexpectedly, when Xia Rou returned home from school the next day, Xia Zhi was also there and enthusiastically inquired about her plan to go on a field trip with the club during the holiday.
Xia Rou casually brushed her off. After Xia Zhi left, she asked her mother with slight displeasure, “Why did she come?”
“She said she wanted to see me. They are relatives, I can’t just refuse her entry,” Wu Daiyun said helplessly.
“Then how did she find out about my holiday plans?”
“It’s all my fault; I accidentally let it slip. I didn’t mean to, Mom,” Wu Daiyun looked at her apologetically.
“It’s fine. It doesn’t matter what she knows. Mom, I don’t blame you.” Xia Rou pulled her mother’s hand. “I’m going upstairs to pack my luggage for tomorrow’s departure.”
Xia Zhi deeply resented her cousin, who was only one year older than her. Not only was she constantly compared to her within the family since childhood, but there was another crucial factor.
In this world, there is not only Alpha-Omega pheromone compatibility but also a rating system for Omega pheromones. Normal-level Omega pheromones usually have a wide variety of scents, excellent-level Omega pheromones have a fruity scent, and only top-tier Omega pheromones possess a floral scent.
Unfortunately, Xia Rou’s pheromones were floral, while hers could only be fruity. They were clearly of the same lineage, both named Xia.
This meant she was overshadowed by her for life, and Xia Zhi was unwilling to accept it.
Late at night, she sat in front of her computer, searching for the hotel information at Xia Rou’s intended destination, a meaningful smile curving her lips.
