After Losing My Memory, I Suddenly Had A Fiancée - Chapter 36
The time, the place, and the people were all right.
Ji Fanghuai watched Jiang Zhi slowly move closer to her, shifting from a side-by-side recline to Jiang Zhi hovering over her. The friction through the fabric made her skin tremble gradually.
She liked the image of Jiang Zhi being weak and needing her, but she also had to admit that she was subdued by Jiang Zhi’s assertiveness.
Ji Fanghuai was nervous, expectant… all sorts of mixed emotions filled her mind. Finally, she simply gave up struggling and lay peacefully on the soft, large bed.
Jiang Zhi supported herself on both sides of Ji Fanghuai, looking at her face so close to hers, and asked, “When I left before, did Jin Lin say anything to you?”
“Huh?” Ji Fanghuai had thought she was about to do something mischievous, but she was only asking a serious question, which made her feel a little disappointed.
“She said that my relationship with you is like opening a blind box.”
Jiang Zhi was a bit surprised but also found it amusing. She lowered her head and gently kissed Ji Fanghuai’s eyelid, saying softly, “Is opening a blind box like this? You never know where I’ll kiss you next.”
Ji Fanghuai’s eyelid fluttered. “Maybe so.”
“Fanghuai.”
Jiang Zhi called her name again. It was just two ordinary words, but when spoken by Jiang Zhi, they seemed to be able to bewitch people.
Ji Fanghuai felt a bit dry in the mouth, feeling restless.
She closed her eyes and said, “If you’re going to kiss me, just do it quickly.”
Jiang Zhi paused for a moment, then stopped hesitating. She lowered her head and gently held Ji Fanghuai’s lips, rubbing them tenderly.
Lips touched, breaths intertwined.
Jiang Zhi’s breathing was soft and long. The few intimate moments Ji Fanghuai had shared with Jiang Zhi had always happened suddenly, leaving her unprepared and without time to fully savor the taste.
This was the perfect opportunity.
The two were like in a battle for a city.
One attacked, one defended, neither giving way.
Ji Fanghuai gradually became lost in the tenderness Jiang Zhi offered.
Just as they were getting into the rhythm, Ji Fanghuai’s body trembled slightly, and she raised a hand to push Jiang Zhi away.
Jiang Zhi’s body instantly cooled down. Her eyes were filled with little flames, perhaps from anger or something else. She released Ji Fanghuai’s tongue, her breath unsteady, and asked, “What is it?”
Ji Fanghuai said sheepishly, “With you like this, my chest feels tight, and I can’t breathe.”
Jiang Zhi’s eyes brightened, and she shifted to a side-by-side embrace.
She had worried that Ji Fanghuai hadn’t accepted her again.
Their lips met again. Ji Fanghuai was kissed by Jiang Zhi until her hands and feet curled up. She tightly clutched Jiang Zhi’s back, her body trembling slightly as if struck by electricity.
Jiang Zhi considerately paused. Ji Fanghuai, her face red, said awkwardly, “I forgot to breathe.”
She was embarrassed that so many mishaps occurred just while kissing.
Fortunately, Jiang Zhi didn’t tease her. She just held her and gently comforted her, saying in a matter-of-fact tone, “Scientific research shows that kissing increases the secretion of dopamine, elevates mood, and increases affection between couples.”
“…” Ji Fanghuai had no doubt that if Jiang Zhi hadn’t had some reservations, she might have already been taken on the spot.
Several times, she felt that Jiang Zhi’s hands were no longer content with just holding her.
She asked, “Were we like this before?”
Jiang Zhi was puzzled by the question. “Like what?”
“Like stopping right after kissing.” Although Ji Fanghuai admired Jiang Zhi’s ability to restrain herself, she still wanted to ask if Jiang Zhi was really a big sister almost in her thirties?
How was she able to stop and start so freely?
Although it was difficult to say, Ji Fanghuai had wanted to go all the way for a moment just now. If it weren’t for her damned modesty holding her back, she might have already thrown herself into Jiang Zhi’s arms and removed her clothes.
Jiang Zhi quickly understood her meaning and said, “I’m afraid you haven’t prepared yourself, and it’s still daytime. Aren’t you afraid?”
Ji Fanghuai was actually a master of empty talk and didn’t want to admit that she was indeed unprepared. She insisted stubbornly, “Maybe your technique isn’t good.”
Jiang Zhi said expressionlessly, “My technique is excellent.”
Then she rolled up her sleeves, making a threatening gesture.
Ji Fanghuai chuckled twice dryly, enjoying Jiang Zhi’s tenderness in her arms. The faint fragrance in her embrace was like a hypnotic spell, and drowsiness visited Ji Fanghuai again.
Drowsiness gradually crept over Ji Fanghuai, but her lips felt cool again as Jiang Zhi’s smooth tongue probed once more. Ji Fanghuai’s sleepiness vanished again…
Ji Fanghuai’s tongue felt numb, and she turned her back to Jiang Zhi in resentment.
Jiang Zhi poked her back and said softly, “Fanghuai.”
Ji Fanghuai rubbed her lips and asked crossly, “What?”
Jiang Zhi leaned in, hugged Ji Fanghuai’s waist, and whispered in her ear, “Fanghuai, let’s get married.”
Ji Fanghuai’s ear felt pleasantly ticklish, and her mind went blank from what Jiang Zhi said. She turned around: “Huh?”
Jiang Zhi repeated, “Let’s get married.”
“But what’s the difference between being married and not being married now?” Ji Fanghuai didn’t quite dare to meet Jiang Zhi’s eyes, only staring at her glistening, watery lips.
She instinctively had some fear of marriage.
Jiang Zhi saw her reaction, lowered her eyes, and said disappointedly, “Are you afraid of marriage? Or are you really, as you said before, afraid of marriage? Are you a non-marriage advocate?”
“That was something I said in a fit of pique. People change, you know.” Ji Fanghuai was used to contradicting herself and felt her skin had thickened a lot. “I just feel it’s too sudden.”
Jiang Zhi’s expression was sad. “When you were discharged from the hospital, I promised you we’d take it slow. Half a year has passed, and you’ve accepted me again. Shouldn’t we get married?”
Ji Fanghuai thought about it; this was indeed true. If it hadn’t been for her accident, they might have already married and registered their union.
But she just felt it was too sudden.
She didn’t know how to tell Jiang Zhi, so she could only cheekily act spoiled and say, “Let me take it slow, okay? We just established our relationship. Why are you in such a hurry?”
Jiang Zhi tapped her nose and said, “I’m afraid you’ll run away.”
Ji Fanghuai hadn’t expected Jiang Zhi to have such a childish thought and laughed, assuring her, “Where can I run off to? I will always be by your side.”
“Alright, take your time to think.” Jiang Zhi compromised and held Ji Fanghuai. But as she held her, she started kissing her again, as if she couldn’t get enough.
Ji Fanghuai gasped, “I can’t take it anymore. I need to breathe.”
Jiang Zhi rested her chin on her hand and mocked her, “Your body is weak; you’re destined to lie down for the rest of your life.”
“That’s because you’re too ferocious like a wolf. I’m the normal one. I’ll lie down if I want to; I don’t feel like moving,” Ji Fanghuai said, shocked herself. She had always thought she was reserved, but today she felt like her true nature was exposed.
Jiang Zhi was very open about it, implying, “It’s normal to have desires for someone you love, and there’s nothing shameful about it. The hardest thing is having a desire but not being able to speak of it, having to hold it in.”
Ji Fanghuai thought Jiang Zhi was referring to the time she had amnesia. This period wasn’t too long or too short, about half a year, and it must have been difficult.
She couldn’t exactly say, Now I’ve figured things out, you don’t need to restrain yourself, and could only keep silent.
Jiang Zhi wasn’t entirely preoccupied with intimacy. She discussed with her, “If you like it here, we can move here. Nothing is lacking, except that moving Xixi will be a bit troublesome.”
Ji Fanghuai said a little sheepishly, “I get used to a place and don’t want to change. We can just come over occasionally.”
“Mhm, then let’s go back.” Jiang Zhi deferred to her.
Ji Fanghuai was ultimately defeated by drowsiness and slept on the big bed until dark.
The place felt cold and deserted. Ji Fanghuai still preferred their previous home. On the way back, Jiang Zhi was driving in front, and Ji Fanghuai, uncharacteristically, didn’t feel carsick and chatted with her.
Jiang Zhi said, “The best way to solve carsickness is actually to drive yourself.”
Ji Fanghuai knew this but was timid and didn’t dare to drive on the road. She said, “I don’t think I have a driver’s license.”
“That’s right. You didn’t get one before because you thought it was useless. Actually, you’ve improved a lot now. The way to deal with carsickness is to fight fire with fire. You’ve had it since you were little, and medication can only treat the symptoms, not the root cause.”
Jiang Zhi paused, and seeing Ji Fanghuai hadn’t fully reacted, she calmly added, “You told me that before.”
“It seems so.” Ji Fanghuai now only feels a reflexive discomfort the moment she gets into the car, provided the journey is short and the driving is smooth. Otherwise, she still feels very ill.
Ji Fanghuai looked at the night scenery outside the car window as the traffic flowed.
A nail salon called “Manicure World” caught her eye. The shop name was flashing in all sorts of colors, making it impossible for Ji Fanghuai not to notice.
She looked down at her own fingernails and decided to clip them once she got home. She couldn’t really lie down for the rest of her life.
But maybe I only need to clip the right hand?
Ji Fanghuai was still reluctant to cut off all the nails she had kept for a long time.
