After I Married the Comatose CEO - Chapter 26
Xie Qiu bit his lip and didn’t answer immediately.
He Siyan was dressed in a suit and leather shoes. The well-tailored suit showed off his perfect body proportions. Standing there with a cane in one hand, his height of over 1.9 meters brought a heavy sense of pressure.
The wooden cane didn’t look like a tool in his hand; it looked more like a scepter held by a medieval gentleman.
This version of Mr. He was quite unfamiliar to him.
Fortunately, He Siyan just waited with plenty of patience and didn’t rush him.
After a moment, Xie Qiu stepped forward and stood in front of the man.
He reached out to unbutton the suit jacket. With the man’s cooperation, he successfully removed it.
Next, he had to help undo the tie.
His fair, slender fingers touched the knot, and one hand pulled the end of the tie to loosen it.
He Siyan looked down, his gaze falling on the slightly blushing face.
The two were very close—close enough that he could smell the scent of Xie Qiu’s hair and the familiar, refreshing fragrance of his body wash.
the young man’s home clothes were very loose. Although the buttons were done up to the very last one at the collar, they still revealed his straight, delicate collarbones and a small patch of pinkish-white skin.
Xie Qiu was focused on undoing the tie when he suddenly noticed the Adam’s apple right in front of him move up and down.
He paused for a second. Thinking the man was annoyed because he was being too slow, he sped up, fully unfastened the tie, and pulled it away from the man’s neck.
Xie Qiu took a step back. “Is that enough, Mr. He?”
He Siyan stood still with his cane, obviously thinking it wasn’t enough yet.
Xie Qiu had no choice but to step forward again and continue helping with the buttons of the white shirt.
He didn’t know how much hard work Mr. He had put in privately during the time he was away.
But as the shirt opened, it was obvious that the body in front of him was much firmer than the last time he had seen it. It was gradually returning to its former strong state.
Xie Qiu was too embarrassed to stare, so he lowered his eyelashes. Unexpectedly, his line of sight landed right on a sudden, prominent bulge…
The fingers unbuttoning the shirt shook. He hurriedly looked up, only to crash into those dark, heavy eyes once more.
Xie Qiu’s heart rate sped up, and he instinctively avoided eye contact. “Is… is that enough now?”
He Siyan stared at him without blinking, the emotions in his eyes deep and hard to read.
Xie Qiu: “…”
No way. He doesn’t actually want me to undo his belt and take off his pants too, does he?
But then he thought again: Mr. He hadn’t fully recovered yet, and he had protected Xie Qiu’s dignity in front of the media today. Would it really be such a big deal to help him take off his pants?
Just as Xie Qiu braced himself and reached for the belt at the man’s waist, a large hand clamped down on his wrist.
“That’s enough,” He Siyan finally spoke. His voice carried a hint of a rasp that was hard to notice. “Thank you for your hard work.”
“Okay.” Xie Qiu let out a sigh of relief and tried to pull his hand back.
He Siyan let go. As he lowered his hand, he quietly rubbed his fingertips together as if he were savoring a memory.
“Then I’m going back to my room to sleep.” Xie Qiu put some distance between them. “Rest early, Mr. He. You can call me if you need anything.”
After saying that, he added one more thing: “Of course, you can also call the caregiver. I’m a bit clumsy.”
He Siyan said calmly, “No.”
Xie Qiu didn’t understand. “No what?”
He Siyan replied, “You are not clumsy.”
“Okay.” Xie Qiu smiled, accepting the compliment. “Thank you for the praise, Mr. He.”
He Siyan: “You’re welcome.”
Xie Qiu turned and walked toward his room. At the connecting door, he turned back and said goodnight. “Goodnight, Mr. He.”
He Siyan replied in a deep voice, “Goodnight.”
The next morning, Xie Qiu was woken up by his alarm. With his eyes closed, he reached out to find his phone on the nightstand.
Perhaps because of the trauma of being cornered by paparazzi yesterday, he hadn’t slept well and had been having strange dreams all night.
Xie Qiu checked the time and got out of bed with a yawn.
It was the first day of summer break, but unfortunately, he couldn’t sleep in.
Xie Qiu went to the bathroom to wash up, changed into a regular T-shirt and shorts, and walked out of his room.
He stood in the hallway and glanced at the room next door.
Just as he was wondering if he should go say good morning, the caregiver’s voice rang out: “Good morning, Eldest Young Madam!”
“Good morning,” Xie Qiu replied with a smile. “Is Mr. He awake yet?”
“Eldest Young Master has been up for a while. He already finished a round of morning exercise,” the caregiver replied. “He should be downstairs talking with Madam and the others now. You can find him if you go down.”
Xie Qiu: “…”
I’m breaking into a cold sweat. As expected of President He, his self-discipline is at least ten times stronger than mine.
Xie Qiu walked downstairs feeling a bit guilty, praying that he wasn’t the last person in the house to wake up.
When he looked at the living room, the whole family was sitting neatly at the dining table.
“Xiao Qiu, you’re up,” Su Wanrong greeted him with a smile. “Since you finally have your break, why didn’t you sleep a little longer?”
Xie Qiu smiled. “I’ve had enough sleep.”
“That’s good then.” Su Wanrong waved him over. “Come and have breakfast with us.”
Xie Qiu walked over, intending to sit in the seat next to He Jingchen.
He Siyan’s gaze followed him as he moved, staying locked onto his face.
Luckily, Xie Qiu was getting used to it. He pulled out his chair and sat down calmly.
The servants brought out breakfast and placed it in front of everyone.
He Siyan withdrew his gaze and asked casually, “Jingchen, what are your plans for summer break?”
He Jingchen put down his utensils and asked tentatively, “Brother, can I do an internship at the group?”
Su Wanrong immediately cut in. “Jingchen, you could invite a few friends to go out and have fun for the break. There’s no need to work so hard at an internship.”
“I want to intern at the group to gain some experience.” He Jingchen looked up at her, speaking up for himself. “And since Big Brother just returned to the group, there will surely be many things to handle. I can help him a bit.”
“What could you possibly help your brother with?” Su Wanrong’s expression changed slightly. “If you just stay out of his way, that’s help enough.”
He Jingchen still didn’t give up. “I won’t cause trouble for my brother, Mother.”
Su Wanrong wanted to say something more, but He Siyan spoke: “It’s fine.”
Su Wanrong frowned. “Siyan!”
“He’s not a child anymore. It’s time to let him handle group business,” He Siyan said slowly. “When I was his age, I had already taken over the company.”
He Jingchen looked surprised and then stated firmly, “Thank you, Brother. I won’t let your trust down.”
Su Wanrong looked very upset, but she knew that no one could change her eldest son’s decisions, so she had to endure it.
The atmosphere at the table wasn’t great. Xie Qiu ate his breakfast in silence.
Finally finishing his meal, Su Wanrong was the first to leave the table, walking away without a word.
Xie Qiu stood up as well. “Mr. He, I’m finished eating. I’m going back upstairs.”
He Siyan used as few words as possible. “Mm.”
Xie Qiu returned to his room and flopped onto his soft, large bed.
After lying there for a while, he jumped up and started to count the things he had saved up while living with the He family.
There was the greeting gift he received at the beginning, the jade bracelet Su Wanrong gave him for calling Siyan “hubby,” and several other small gifts he had received over time.
As for the bank card Su Wanrong had given him, he had almost never touched the money, except for the time he bought a pair of limited-edition sneakers for Meng Ziye.
After all, he had been living in the He family home during this time. His food and drinks were free, and he even had a private driver for school, so he didn’t need to spend much money.
Once Xie Qiu finished counting his things, he found a large box and put everything inside.
Now that He Siyan had mostly recovered, everything was going back to normal. It was time for him to leave.
Mr. He might find it awkward to ask him to leave directly, so Xie Qiu felt he should be polite and do it himself.
After packing the gifts, Xie Qiu went to the walk-in closet.
He looked at the rows of clothes hanging in the wardrobe. Many were still new and he hadn’t even had the chance to wear them yet. He felt it was a bit of a waste.
But he couldn’t take so many clothes with him. He could only pick a few items he had already worn and pack them up.
However, he forgot that the suitcase he brought to the He house was very small. No matter how he tried, he couldn’t fit much inside, so he gave up.
When everything was ready, Xie Qiu sat on the edge of the bed. His eyes slowly moved across every corner of the room.
He had lived in this room for several months and it was very comfortable. It was only natural that he felt sad about leaving.
Xie Qiu gave a soft sigh, stood up, and went to the door. He turned the handle, ready to go out.
Right then, the phone in his pocket started vibrating.
Xie Qiu let go of the door and took two steps back into the room to answer the call.
“Xiao Qiu, you finally picked up!” Yao Man’s voice came from the other end, sounding fake and forced. “You haven’t been answering, and your mother was worried to death!”
Xie Qiu played dumb: “Did something happen?”
“Xiao Qiu, Mom saw the news yesterday. He Siyan is not only awake, but he’s also recovering very well!” Yao Man pretended to be upset. “Xiao Qiu, how could you not tell your parents about such a big thing?”
Xie Qiu: “…”
Who was the person last time who said they were so disappointed in me?
“Oh, that’s not the point. The point is that He Siyan admitted your marriage contract to the media!” Yao Man’s voice was full of excitement she couldn’t hide. “Xiao Qiu, does President He like you a lot?”
Xie Qiu said, “You have misunderstood.”
“What did I misunderstand?” Yao Man got anxious. “Didn’t He Siyan say it himself? He said you decide when the engagement happens!”
“That was just something Mr. He said to deal with the media.” Xie Qiu paused, and his tone became low. “Actually, I am leaving the He family today.”
At that exact moment, He Siyan was standing outside the door with his cane. His hand, about to knock, stopped.
“What? You’re leaving the He family?” Yao Man seemed to jump up on the other end of the line. “Aren’t you already married? Is He Siyan kicking you out as soon as he woke up?”
“As you know, this marriage has no real legal power,” Xie Qiu lied calmly. “So, Mr. He has the right to not recognize it and the right to kick me out.”
“No way!” Yao Man became very emotional, and her voice grew sharp. “The He family wants to use you and then throw you away? No chance!”
Xie Qiu frowned slightly: “What do you want to do?”
“If they kick you out, I will tell the media everything! I’ll tell them you were married long ago!” Yao Man said fiercely. “And that you only married into the He family to bring He Siyan good luck!”
“That is very dangerous. I suggest you think carefully,” Xie Qiu said seriously. “If the He family wants to crush someone, it’s as easy as crushing an ant. By then, it won’t just be me—the whole Xie family will be in trouble.”
“I… I…” Yao Man realized she had said too much. she tried to cover it up, saying, “Mom is just angry for you!”
“In the end, this marriage was just both sides getting what they needed. I have no right to complain, and the He family owes me nothing,” Xie Qiu said directly. “If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up. I need to pack my bags.”
Yao Man wanted to say more, but he simply hung up the phone.
Once they knew he had left the He family and had nothing more to give, the Xie family would naturally stop bothering him.
Xie Qiu took a deep breath, went back to the door, and opened it.
The next second, he was suddenly staring into a pair of dark, deep eyes.
Xie Qiu was stunned: “Mr. He, when did you get here?”
He Siyan stared at him. His voice was low and cold: “Since you said I was going to kick you out of the He family.”
Xie Qiu tried to explain: “Actually, this is a misunderstanding…”
A breeze blew, and the door opened all the way.
He Siyan’s gaze shifted and landed on the packed suitcase in the middle of the room.
Xie Qiu: “…”
