After Getting Pregnant, I’m Divorcing My Alpha - Chapter 25
“Where’s An Xiangdi?” Yao Honglang had driven straight to the hotel booked by the film crew after getting off the plane.
The hotel entrance was already swarmed with reporters. If not for the security guards holding them back, they would have rushed in long ago.
“In his room.” Xiao Gu, who had met Yao Honglang in the underground parking lot, jogged ahead to lead the way. “Brother Yao, don’t worry. Teacher An hasn’t gone anywhere. He’s been in his room the whole time.”
“Hmm.” Yao Honglang grunted a syllable, his face mostly hidden behind black-framed glasses, expressionless.
When the elevator doors opened, the hallway was filled with crew members craning their necks, wishing they had X-ray vision to see through the closed door into An Xiangdi’s room.
“Ah, the agent is here.”
“Make way, make way.”
Several crew members instinctively stepped back. Yao Honglang had a formidable reputation in the industry. Many artists feared him, and so did many crew members.
After knocking on An Xiangdi’s door a few times, Yao Honglang waited patiently for the door to open.
A moment later, the door clicked open. An Xiangdi had already freshened up and changed into casual clothes.
An Xiangdi had anticipated the “spectacle” of a crowd outside his door. Inside his room, he could faintly detect the scents of various pheromones, slowly confirming what Dr. Qiao had told him.
But being surrounded by so many pheromones made An Xiangdi uncomfortable, so he quickly closed the door after Yao Honglang entered.
“Did Director Wang come to question you?” Yao Honglang glanced around the room. The curtains were drawn tightly, the lights were on, and a small, opened packet of sour jujubes sat on the table.
“He did.” An Xiangdi sat back down on the bed. “He asked me if the trending topic was true.”
“What did you say?” Yao Honglang adjusted his glasses, watching him with unusual calm.
“It’s true.” When An Xiangdi first saw the trending topic, his initial reaction was panic, so he immediately called Shen Xiao.
But he hung up before the call could connect. No matter how much he tried to hide it, once his pregnancy started to show, it would be impossible to conceal. He figured it was better to address the issue sooner rather than later.
Yao Honglang pursed his lips, then pulled up a chair and sat opposite him. “You admitted it quite readily. So, tell me, what’s really going on?”
“It’s just as the trending topic says.” Under Yao Honglang’s questioning, An Xiangdi suddenly lost the composure he had mustered while alone.
Before Yao Honglang arrived, An Xiangdi had been scrolling through Weibo in his room.
He checked the latest comments in the trending section and the newest posts in real-time. Everyone was speculating whether he was an Omega, with only a few skeptics suggesting it might just be poor health rather than morning sickness though those voices were quickly drowned out.
When it came to gossip, netizens were always on the front lines, highly sensitive to the truth.
Beside An Xiangdi, his phone screen was still lit, displaying the top trending post.

Under Yao Honglang’s gaze, An Xiangdi extended his index finger and lightly swiped the screen. There were even more comments under the trending post.
“When Shen Xiao handed you over to me, why didn’t he mention you’re an Omega?” Yao Honglang, who had been silent all this time, suddenly muttered.
An Xiangdi’s finger froze, thinking he had misheard. He looked up. “What did you say?”
“Nothing.” Yao Honglang stood up. “This ‘person involved’ is worth looking into.”
Only when Yao Honglang brought it up did An Xiangdi, whose focus had been entirely on the trending topic, realize the issue.
“How many people around you know you’re an Omega and that you’re pregnant?” Yao Honglang narrowed his eyes as he asked.
“Shen Xiao.” The first name that popped into An Xiangdi’s mind was “Shen Xiao.”
“Aside from your Alpha, who else?” That was the answer Yao Honglang least wanted to hear.
Xiao Gu, who had been standing there all along, trembled as he pointed at himself. “Teacher An, Brother Yao, I know.”
Yao Honglang’s sharp gaze swept over him. Xiao Gu’s hand trembled even more. “I swear! I definitely didn’t tell anyone! This secret is absolutely buried with me!”
“How did you find out? And how can you prove you won’t spill it?” Yao Honglang pressed closer step by step.
Xiao Gu was naturally soft-spoken and a bit timid. Under the interrogation, he kept retreating until his back hit the cabinet, with nowhere left to go.
“I really didn’t tell anyone. I found out by accident.” Before Xiao Gu could finish, An Xiangdi cut in.
“I told him. He’s my assistant, so it’s fine for him to know.” An Xiangdi’s tone was calm.
“I thought after what happened with your previous agent, you’d be able to tell who can be trusted and who can’t.” Yao Honglang’s words were somewhat targeted at Xiao Gu, because if no one else knew about An Xiangdi’s pregnancy, Xiao Gu would undoubtedly be the prime suspect.
“I’ve always been able to tell, so it’s not Xiao Gu.” An Xiangdi trusted Xiao Gu’s character after all, they hadn’t worked together for over half a year for nothing.
Tears welled up in Xiao Gu’s eyes the moment An Xiangdi spoke up for him. He had never realized before how deeply moving it was to be trusted. Not only did An Xiangdi trust him, but he also lied for him.
Even though he had found out by accident back then, and it wasn’t An Xiangdi who had told him voluntarily.
Yao Honglang met An Xiangdi’s resolute gaze and, after a long pause, spoke slowly, “Regardless of whether it’s true or not, let’s suspend your assistant for now. We can clear his name once the investigation is complete.”
“Th-there’s no need…” An Xiangdi had intended to say “no need,” but upon second thought, suspending Xiao Gu might not be such a bad idea it could even help lure out the real mastermind behind the scenes. “Understood.”
“Regarding this matter, I have a few more questions for you. I hope you’ll answer them honestly.” Yao Honglang paused briefly before adding, “If there’s anything you don’t want to answer, just say so don’t lie to me.”
“Go ahead.” To emphasize his stance, An Xiangdi hung up the call from Shen Xiao without hesitation.
Yao Honglang seemed satisfied. “First, why did you conceal your identity as an Omega?”
“It was Royal Entertainment’s requirement.” When An Xiangdi had been eager to enter the entertainment industry, he filled in “Beta” in the gender column on his information form to avoid complications. However, Royal Entertainment insisted on marketing him with an “enigmatic pheromone” persona and publicly claimed he was an Alpha.
Considering his reasons for entering the industry and the opportunity to collaborate with Shen Xiao, he signed a supplementary confidentiality agreement.
Only a few people who had brought him into the company knew about this. Li Guan, who was assigned to him later, never once questioned his gender.
Yao Honglang frowned, skeptical of his choice to join Royal Entertainment, and made a mental note to review their contract later. “Second, did Shen Xiao know from the beginning that you’re an Omega?”
“We grew up together.” However, Shen Xiao was unaware that An Xiangdi had issues with his pheromones. He simply assumed An Xiangdi used a pheromone blocker suitable for unmarked Alphas, which was why others couldn’t detect his scent. An Xiangdi had always been cautious, never revealing that he couldn’t detect others’ pheromones either.
“Third, have you considered that if this matter is exposed, you might lose many fans who trust you?”
This question left An Xiangdi silent. Just as Yao Honglang thought he might avoid answering, he spoke up, “I have. My gender is what it is I can’t change it. What I can change are my works. I’m willing to win them back with increasingly better performances.”
Yao Honglang studied him for a long moment before offering his solution: “As for the trending topic, don’t respond. Let the hype die down naturally.”
Since it was an undeniable fact, denying it would only invite more trouble. However, there was no need to admit it immediately either. Giving netizens time to accept it and making the announcement after The Yellowing Season wrapped up would not only build anticipation but also generate another wave of attention for the drama.
“Alright.” An Xiangdi had no objections to Yao Honglang’s approach he couldn’t think of a better solution at the moment.
“Focus on filming. I’ll be around during this period.” Yao Honglang had no intention of leaving An Xiangdi to his own devices for now.
“Brother Yao, I need to speak with Xiao Gu.” An Xiangdi glanced at Xiao Gu, who was huddled silently in the corner.
“Five minutes.” Yao Honglang set the time limit and walked out, closing the door behind him.
“I’m sorry, Teacher An.” Once they were alone in the room, Xiao Gu hung his head and apologized.
“Why are you apologizing to me? It’s not like you did it.” An Xiangdi was absolutely certain Xiao Gu wasn’t responsible. “Since Yao Honglang gave you time off, take a proper break. Aren’t you about to graduate? Enjoy the last of your university life once things get busy later, you won’t have the chance.”
“Alright.” Xiao Gu knew that being suspended was probably for the best right now. Once his name was cleared later, he would find a way to properly repay An Xiangdi.
Just then, Shen Xiao, whose call had been disconnected earlier, dialed for the fourth time. Xiao Gu promptly took his leave.
“Hello.” An Xiangdi answered the phone and casually tossed a sour jujube into his mouth.
“I saw the trending topic. What are you planning to do now?” Shen Xiao held the phone with one hand while signing a document for his new team’s proposal with the other.
“Yao Honglang told me not to admit or deny anything. In short play dumb.” An Xiangdi shrugged.
“Do you know who took those GIFs?”
“No idea. But Xiao Gu’s been forced to take leave, so no one’s going to bring me sour jujubes or waxberries anymore.” An Xiangdi glanced regretfully at the half-empty bag of sour jujubes on the table.
“I’ll bring them to you.” Shen Xiao curved his lips into a slight smile. He would definitely get to the bottom of who was behind this. “But shouldn’t we go home for a bit? Mom and Dad have probably found out by now.”
Reminded by Shen Xiao, An Xiangdi let out an “Ah.”
“We’re doomed.”
