- Chapter 20 - Filming the Endorsement
The endorsement was finalized quickly, and the shoot was scheduled for Sunday morning. Sang Luo was brought to the location by Qi Wang, where they were greeted by staff upon arrival. As they walked toward the filming area, an exquisite and flawless set came into view. The girl leading them appeared quite proud, constantly praising the photographer. Sang Luo listened casually, his eyes scanning the entire venue.
Soon, a man walked over. His expression was icy, and he looked exceptionally difficult to approach.
“You are Sang Luo?”
The youth slowly lifted his eyelids. “Yes.”
The two said nothing more, simply staring at each other with expressionless faces. For a moment, the scene looked rather odd. Standing to the side, Qi Wang almost wanted to laugh; it was truly hilarious, like looking at a carbon copy of Sang Luo. However, he soon changed his mind. Although this man was handsome, he could not compare to Sang Luo. While that might sound like a biased comparison, Qi Wang truly felt that way. It was not a slight, but a statement of fact.
“Cough, you must be Shi Fu. Thank you for your hard work,” Qi Wang intervened, feeling that if he did not stop them, the two might continue staring at each other until evening. He could not tell if Shi Fu was being provocative or something else, but he wanted to finish the job early so he could head back and report to CEO Huo.
“It is not too hard,” Shi Fu answered matter-of-factly. “Today’s shoot is not difficult; just cooperate well.”
This blunt response left Qi Wang stunned, but having been immersed in the entertainment industry for years, he was able to handle it. “Rest assured, we will cooperate fully. We will strive to let you go back and rest early,” Qi Wang smiled, his tone slightly teasing.
However, Shi Fu took him seriously. “Then thank you. But it is not for rest; the anime I am following updates today.”
Qi Wang: “…” There was really no need to be that honest.
Five minutes later, Sang Luo went to look at the clothes. As a luxury brand, MOM was focusing on a low-key, everyday style for this collection. Though low-key, the luxury was still evident. The person in charge at MOM had only signed Sang Luo for two outfits. Everyone understood the move; it was a trial run. The management’s concern was that even if Sang Luo’s appearance was flawless, he might not be a good fit.
Sang Luo, of course, would not disappoint. When he changed into the first outfit, everything around him seemed to dim. Everyone’s gaze fell on him without reservation. Even the most flowery language could not capture a tenth of his beauty. Words became excessively impoverished and flat in his presence.
Sang Luo took a few steps forward. The outfit featured traditional elements with a slightly trailing hem that left a faint fragrance. This garment was the least “everyday” of the series, yet it was chosen for Sang Luo. The result was surprisingly stunning and eye-opening.
“Very good,” Shi Fu gave a firm nod. “Beyond my expectations.”
Sang Luo’s expression was indifferent, but his unique aura made him exceptionally striking. Shi Fu toyed with his camera. “Come over here.”
The background resembled the room of a wealthy ancient household. As Sang Luo stood there and turned around, he seemed to merge into the setting. The blood-red robe looked somewhat like a wedding garment, embroidered with ethereal clouds and outlined in gold. The style was steady and grand. Sang Luo’s long hair was pinned up with two translucent white jade hairpins tucked into one side.
The most ingenious part was Sang Luo’s makeup. Not only was a floral pattern painted on his forehead, but mysterious and delicate patterns also traced his eye corners and the right side of his face. Following instructions, Sang Luo sat at the table. He picked up a teacup, but his eyes were fixed on the lens. Next, he walked to the window and stood against the light. The red patterns on the right side of his face became even more dazzling, appearing somewhat demonic. His gaze was cold and sharp, showing both a piercing edge and a sense of ease.
Shi Fu continuously guided Sang Luo, directing his poses. Suddenly, a whim struck him. Under the shocked gazes of everyone present, he walked to Sang Luo’s side and gave a swift tug, ripping the sleeve and pulling open the collar.
“Give me a makeup pen, red.”
Shi Fu was extremely serious, staring intently at Sang Luo as if deep in thought. An assistant brought the pen. Shi Fu pondered for a moment and then drew several wounds on Sang Luo’s face. Still unsatisfied, he mussed Sang Luo’s long hair, using a stray lock to hide the red mole at the end of his eyebrow. The tip of the pen touched the skin, and a tiny red mole appeared on the right side of the youth’s nose bridge.
Finally, Shi Fu removed one of the jade hairpins. Sang Luo now exuded a beauty of pure disarray. Satisfied at last, Shi Fu smoothed his furrowed brow and directed, “Lean on the bed. No expression needed, just half-close your eyes.”
He returned to his spot as if nothing had happened and continued shooting, ignoring the reactions of the others. Sang Luo was unexpectedly compliant, showing no emotional change even when his clothes were torn.
However, someone else was sweating on his behalf. When Shi Fu tore Sang Luo’s collar, Qi Wang was startled and nearly rushed forward to stop him. He controlled himself at the last moment, knowing Shi Fu must have a specific intent.
As time passed, the first set was finished. Sang Luo returned to the dressing room to change into the second outfit. This time, Shi Fu applied the makeup himself, clearly placing high hopes on the result. The second set was more fashion-oriented, and the makeup was extremely simple, just a bit of blush and lip balm.
The theme for this set was a fountain. The sound of water was crisp, appearing clear and bright under the warm lights.
“The clothes will get wet during the shoot; do not show any resistance,” Shi Fu looked up briefly before lowering his head to fiddle with the camera again.
The first few shots were easy to take until the final one. The staff had to spray water over the entire set to create the appearance of rain. Sang Luo sat by the fountain with his legs crossed, leaning back slightly and squinting. His white jacket was a suit-style cut with a shimmering belt, paired with black trousers and white tall boots that tightly hugged his legs. A water droplet fell, landing exactly at the corner of Sang Luo’s eye.
Click. This moment was preserved forever.
After the shoot, Sang Luo changed back into his own clothes. He followed Qi Wang out but was called back.
“Can you treat me to a meal?” Shi Fu’s voice was somewhere between deep and clear, sounding inexplicably pleasant.
Sang Luo lifted his eyelids. “What?”
“I have run out of money for this month. I will treat you next month, alright?”
It was hard to imagine these words coming from the cold-faced Shi Fu.
“Alright.” Sang Luo gestured for him to follow, and Shi Fu did not hesitate.
Behind them, Qi Wang felt like he was seeing things. What kind of strange development was this? The group had just walked out of the MOM entrance when they saw Huo Xun. The result of the encounter was that everyone went to a restaurant together. Looking at the table full of food, Huo Xun looked at the extra person with a faint, mocking smile. “Do not be shy. Order whatever else you want; my treat.”
Shi Fu looked at him for a second and then picked up the menu to order two desserts.
Huo Xun: “…” Are you truly an idiot or just pretending?
[THE END]
