After Flirting with the God-Tier Beautiful Tycoon - Chapter 29
The two walked towards the South City Park parking lot.
Although it was mid-May, the night was still a little chilly.
Chen Yi’s qipao had a high slit, and her smooth, slender, long legs were dazzlingly pale, disturbing Shen Xiaojiang’s heart.
“Little Aunt, are you cold?” Shen Xiaojiang looked at her sincerely. “Would you be willing to accept my jacket?”
Chen Yi hugged herself, and the wind scattered her hair the moment she looked up at Shen Xiaojiang.
Shen Xiaojiang couldn’t see Chen Yi’s expression.
She instinctively raised her hand to brush the scattered hair away from Chen Yi’s face.
Chen Yi didn’t answer. After blinking twice, she slowly leaned against Shen Xiaojiang’s shoulder. “We’re almost at the car. Just let me lean on you.”
“Oh.” Shen Xiaojiang didn’t know how to describe her current mood.
Chen Yi didn’t accept her jacket, which made her a little disappointed, but Chen Yi leaning on her made her ecstatic inside.
As if sensing Shen Xiaojiang’s thoughts, Chen Yi chuckled hoarsely. “I don’t want you to catch a cold either.”
Shen Xiaojiang was stunned, her heart skipped a beat.
So, was Chen Yi worried about her too?
After taking a few steps, she gathered her courage and reached out to wrap her arm around Chen Yi’s thin shoulders, pulling her closer into her embrace.
The other person’s body noticeably stiffened for a moment.
However, it was only a brief moment.
Soon, she let down all her guard and softened into Shen Xiaojiang’s arms.
They passed a vending machine.
Shen Xiaojiang stopped. “Wait for me.”
Chen Yi tugged at her sleeve. “What are you going to do?”
Shen Xiaojiang patted Chen Yi’s hand, only then realizing how cold that hand was.
Her brows furrowed deeply.
She didn’t know why a young person would have such a cold pair of hands in the mild weather of May.
However, meeting Chen Yi’s clear eyes, Shen Xiaojiang’s frown smoothed out.
She picked up the bony, icy hand and warmed it in her palm. “Let’s go, let’s buy a hot drink.”
Chen Yi looked at her hand being held, momentarily dazed.
The warmth coming from Shen Xiaojiang’s hand wasn’t just heat; it was like a small, scorching furnace to her heart.
Chen Yi had never used a vending machine before, so she just stood by and waited.
Before, she didn’t have money and couldn’t bear to buy anything.
Now, she had money, but there was no reason for her to buy one.
“Here, it’s not hot enough to scald you.” Shen Xiaojiang bought two glass bottles of strawberry milk and handed one to Chen Yi.
Chen Yi took it and was about to twist the cap open when she saw Shen Xiaojiang hand her another bottle.
The difference was that the cap on this one was already opened.
She looked up at Shen Xiaojiang.
The other person was looking at her too.
The next second, Shen Xiaojiang gave her a gentle smile.
It was a sufficiently warm and sweet smile.
It was touching and reassuring.
The moon emerged from the clouds, and its bright light gently poured down.
Even the wind became softer.
In exchange, Shen Xiaojiang took the unopened bottle from Chen Yi’s hand.
“I personally think the taste is pretty good. It’s the best you can get from a vending machine,” Shen Xiaojiang said.
Chen Yi paused, looking at the milk in her hand, then tilted her head and took a sip. She nodded in agreement.
She didn’t like sweets, but the strawberry milk, sweet enough to make her throat ache today, tasted exceptionally good.
Looking at the brightly smiling Shen Xiaojiang, Chen Yi murmured softly, “Shen Xiaojiang, the moonlight tonight is so beautiful.”
Shen Xiaojiang bit her lip, then slowly turned her head.
Under the weak light, she saw Chen Yi’s ear, half-hidden by her hair, tinged with a faint blush.
Her gaze lingered on that ear for a long time, reluctant to leave.
“Mm,” she leaned close to Chen Yi’s ear and breathed softly. “It is beautiful.”
Sitting in the car, Chen Yi rested her hands loosely on the steering wheel and couldn’t help but ask, “Why don’t you ask me what happened?”
Shen Xiaojiang pursed her lips, expressionless, but her voice was very gentle: “Do you want to tell me?”
“Do you want to know?” Chen Yi deflected.
Shen Xiaojiang turned sideways, bracing one hand on the center console, staring directly into the other person’s eyes. “Yes, I want to know everything about you.”
Pure, frank, sincere, and direct.
Shen Xiaojiang’s directness was the hardest for Chen Yi to handle.
For so many years, she had dealt with all sorts of people, but no one was like Shen Xiaojiang, who put on a negotiating demeanor but was more sincere and straightforward than anyone else.
She was too clean.
Like a piece of white paper, unstained by dust.
Chen Yi was slowly sinking.
Falling captive to Shen Xiaojiang’s words and gaze.
“I can tell you, but on one condition,” Chen Yi bit her finger, not daring to look directly into Shen Xiaojiang’s eyes. “Stay with me tonight.”
The car door was unlocked and was now violently pulled open from the outside.
“Boss Chen, so this is where you were hiding!” a coarse male voice rang out.
Shen Xiaojiang, who had just fastened her seatbelt, looked over to Chen Yi’s side at the sound.
“Oh, you have a friend with you.” The man spoke while peering into the car.
Chen Yi had one hand resting on her lap and the other clutching the steering wheel.
Her composure had always been impeccable, but at this moment, it uncontrollably turned gloomy.
She looked tense and very uncomfortable.
Shen Xiaojiang didn’t know who the person outside was, but her gut told her this person was trouble.
“What do you want?” Chen Yi’s voice was cold, devoid of warmth.
It sounded like she had an acquaintance with the man, but not a close one.
“What do I want?” the man sneered. “Where’s the money?”
Chen Yi couldn’t be bothered to look at him. “Didn’t I tell He Zhong to give it to you?”
“He brought ten thousand, where’s the other ten thousand?” The man leaned one hand on the door frame, showing no intention of moving aside.
Chasing a debt? Could Chen Yi be in debt?
Shen Xiaojiang’s heart lurched when she heard this.
In an instant, she thought of the New Year’s money she had temporarily stored with her mother.
Although it wasn’t a lot, after all these years, it should amount to tens of thousands of dollars, right?
If Chen Yi needed it…
“Bang” The man’s fist slammed against the car, as if he couldn’t feel the pain. “The rumor is you lost money in the stock market. Is it true? It’s okay if you don’t have money, just sell the car and sell the house. You have plenty of cars and houses, anyway. Or should I go borrow some from your bar? Or maybe borrow some from that old Mr. Bai?”
“Don’t you dare.” Chen Yi’s fingers tightened around the steering wheel.
Heaven knows how much effort she had put into getting the Chamber of Commerce Chairman position. If Chen Heping went to old Mr. Bai to cause a scene now, Mr. Bai would definitely be furious, and the chairman position could easily go to someone else.
She couldn’t take such a big risk.
“Don’t you know whether I dare or not? By the way, did you sleep with that old man?” The man’s words were extremely offensive.
Shen Xiaojiang couldn’t stand hearing anyone speak ill of Chen Yi and was so angry her teeth ached. “Mister, how can you talk like that?”
This was the first time someone had spoken up for her. Chen Yi subconsciously looked at the fiercely protective Shen Xiaojiang.
“Tch, what do you know, people like you…” The man stopped speaking, his gaze lingering on Chen Yi’s face for a moment before quickly looking away.
He hesitated.
Seeing his daughter’s friend for the first time, he didn’t want to say anything too nasty.
Before the man could hesitate further, Chen Yi raised her voice, “Chen Heping, are you finished talking?”
The man froze for a moment.
Chen Yi prepared to get out of the car.
Shen Xiaojiang grabbed her wrist.
Chen Yi turned around, her eyes wide and bright, a trace of desolation in her sharp gaze.
“Wait for me, just for a moment.” She finished, then got out of the car with a mournful air and walked a short distance away with the man.
In the wind, she stood with her arms crossed while the man smoked a cigarette and chattered on about something.
Shen Xiaojiang didn’t follow them, after all, everyone had secrets they didn’t want others to know.
She wouldn’t pry until Chen Yi voluntarily told her.
Shen Xiaojiang’s well-placed sense of boundaries subtly increased others’ good feelings toward her.
Just then, she saw the man named Chen Heping push Chen Yi.
All of Shen Xiaojiang’s blood seemed to rush to her head instantly.
The next second, she pushed the door open, darted out of the car, and rushed over, placing herself between Chen Yi and Chen Heping.
“No matter what your relationship is with her, if you dare to touch her again, I’m calling the police!” Shen Xiaojiang said while shielding Chen Yi behind her.
The man was startled at first, then his laughter echoed through the night. “Call the police? Kid, what did I do that you need to call the police? Huh?”
Shen Xiaojiang’s gaze was ferocious, even she hadn’t realized how terrifying she looked when she was angry.
“Whoever you are, whatever you’re doing, you are not allowed to bully her!” Shen Xiaojiang was unwavering.
Chen Yi stood behind her, staring blankly at her back.
“Chen Yi, I’m glad you have a friend like this.” Chen Heping said.
“I don’t need your gladness.” Chen Yi gave him a hostile look.
“Hmph, with that attitude, aren’t you afraid of a mutually destructive outcome?” Chen Heping narrowed his eyes.
“Fine, a mutually destructive outcome then. Who’s afraid of whom?” Shen Xiaojiang took over the conversation, glaring at Chen Heping while pulling out her phone.
“You’ve got guts,” Chen Heping looked at Shen Xiaojiang, then back at Chen Yi. “You both have f-ing guts! I remember her face. You wait for me.”
“We’ll wait.”
Looking directly at him, Shen Xiaojiang realized that the man looked somewhat familiar, very much like the person in the photograph.
No, not just very much alike, he was identical.
Watching Shen Xiaojiang’s fearless demeanor, ripples surged in Chen Yi’s heart.
After all these years of struggle, there was no one left in South City that she was afraid of.
But this Chen Heping, her biological father, was giving her an immense headache.
Since she took over the bar business, Chen Heping had done nothing to harm her other than demanding money.
If she truly had to deal with him, it would be difficult for Chen Yi.
After all, kinship was the hardest thing in this world to cut off.
“You should go. What I do has nothing to do with her. The remaining ten thousand will be transferred to your account in an hour,” Chen Yi said coldly.
Chen Heping snorted, touched his nose, and with a lazy, irresponsible appearance it was unclear if he was genuinely irresponsible or just pretending said, “If you’d given in earlier, none of this would have happened.”
The man drove away.
Shen Xiaojiang took Chen Yi’s hand and walked back.
“He’s my dad.” Chen Yi’s hand was loose, allowing Shen Xiaojiang to lead her.
“It really is getting a bit cold now,” Shen Xiaojiang said lightly, the grip on her hand not weakening.
“Shen Xiaojiang, that person is my dad. We have a very bad relationship, as you saw.” Chen Yi repeated.
“Let’s hurry back. The strawberry milk should still be warm.” Shen Xiaojiang pretended not to hear what Chen Yi said.
Chen Yi pulled her hand away from Shen Xiaojiang’s, her voice trembling, “The me you want to understand is actually quite pathetic. Even so, do you still want to understand? Are you still willing to care about me?”
Shen Xiaojiang stopped.
The moon hung high, and its clear light shone directly on the two of them.
Shen Xiaojiang stood with her back to Chen Yi and slowly began to speak: “If understanding everything about you means tearing open your wounds, then I don’t need to understand.”
Chen Yi’s expression froze, and her heart skipped a beat.
They seemed to be on different wavelengths, but Shen Xiaojiang’s words were strangely comforting.
“Shen Xiaojiang… I…”
Before Chen Yi could finish, everything suddenly went dark in front of her.
Shen Xiaojiang quickly turned around, cupped her face in her hands, and kissed her very gently and very affectionately.
Back at the hotel, Chen Yi took a shower first.
Shen Xiaojiang returned to the living room and looked at the photograph.
The Chen Yi in the picture looked very young, and the smile on her face was completely different from her current one.
The man beside her was Chen Yi’s father, Chen Heping.
The Chen Heping in the photo was dressed formally, smiling sincerely, and radiating the greatness of paternal love.
What exactly had caused him to become a completely different person?
Why did the father-daughter relationship between Chen Yi and Chen Heping become so strained?
Shen Xiaojiang had too many questions.
She had time; she would slowly understand.
She gazed at the two people in the photo, lost in thought. She decided that she wanted Chen Yi to smile the way she did in the picture again.
No, she wanted it to be brighter and more carefree than in the picture.
“Click” The bathroom door opened.
Chen Yi wasn’t wearing a bathrobe today, just a simple white towel wrapped around her important parts.
Hearing the sound, Shen Xiaojiang put down the photo, ready to go take a shower herself.
Chen Yi dried her hair with a towel and walked to Shen Xiaojiang barefoot, carrying the scent of steam.
Her shoulders were narrow, her collarbones delicate, and she looked small, soft, and completely different from her usual self.
Although she wasn’t as tall as Shen Xiaojiang, her body proportions were incredibly good. The long legs beneath the towel were long and straight.
She was truly “all legs below the neck”!
Looking at those beautiful legs, Shen Xiaojiang instantly understood the meaning of “legs for years of play.”
She swallowed, trying to quell the inner heat. “Why aren’t you wearing shoes?”
After asking, Shen Xiaojiang noticed that Chen Yi’s feet were very small, very white, and also very slender.
The other person’s jade-like toes instinctively curled into the carpet, and she whispered, “Don’t want to.”
This seemingly self-indulgent caprice, which wasn’t quite affected, carried an indescribable charm, almost capturing Shen Xiaojiang’s soul.
“If you don’t want to… then don’t wear them,” Shen Xiaojiang said, then noticed that Chen Yi’s face was flushed, redder than when she first came out of the bathroom.
Chen Yi felt Shen Xiaojiang’s burning gaze, quickly blinked, and touched her face. “Am I… still running a fever?”
With that, she turned to walk away.
At that moment, Shen Xiaojiang reached out her left hand and gently wrapped it around her slim waist from behind. She raised her right hand and placed it on Chen Yi’s forehead.
Chen Yi instinctively let out a soft “Ah.”
The sound was very small, almost a whisper.
Hearing this whisper, something within Shen Xiaojiang began to gradually lose control.
“It’s okay, the fever is gone,” she said, her voice gentle, carrying a hint of tenderness.
The lights in the room were warm yellow, casting an ambiguous glow over everything.
Chen Yi was stiff; the skin Shen Xiaojiang touched was blazing hot, like it was being scorched by fire.
Then, Shen Xiaojiang lowered her hand.
She then wrapped both hands around Chen Yi’s waist.
Her breath puffed out onto the back of Chen Yi’s neck, and before long, the back of Chen Yi’s neck also took on a faint pink hue.
Shen Xiaojiang bent down, rested her chin on Chen Yi’s shoulder, and let the warmth from her mouth envelope her left ear.
“You smell so good.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Chen Yi’s shoulders tensed up strongly.
Her earlobe was crimson, looking like it was bleeding, and the tiny black mole on her earlobe only added a touch of alluring resistance.
Suddenly, Shen Xiaojiang tilted her chin up and gently sucked on Chen Yi’s left earlobe.
A wave of numbness shot directly to the deepest part of her heart.
Chen Yi let out a soft gasp, and her body began to tremble slightly.
“Shen Xiaojiang,” her voice was soft and weak, yet very captivating.
“Hmm?” Shen Xiaojiang’s tongue was playful.
“Shen… Shen Xiaojiang.” Chen Yi’s legs turned inward, and her back arched slightly.
“What is it?” Shen Xiaojiang played with her earlobe while exhaling warm air.
Chen Yi stumbled, almost losing her footing.
“Careful!” Shen Xiaojiang circled her into her embrace.
Time slowed down, the lights dimmed, and even the air grew thin.
Shen Xiaojiang could hear Chen Yi’s bare feet stepping on the carpet, as well as her own rapidly accelerating heartbeat.
The towel in Chen Yi’s hand fell to the floor, and water droplets from her hair landed on her collarbone.
Shen Xiaojiang slowly moved closer and licked those water stains clean.
Although they were tasteless, she could taste a hint of sweetness.
All of Chen Yi’s exposed skin was heating up, turning red, like a fully ripened peach.
It made one want to take a bite, letting the sweet juices fill their mouth.
Chen Yi whimpered for a while, then reached out and actively released the towel wrapped around her body.
Suddenly, Shen Xiaojiang’s mind blanked, completely shutting down.
“Hold me tight.” Chen Yi’s voice was like dew, like spring water.
Gentle, slow, and carrying a certain frantic impulse, it resonated in Shen Xiaojiang’s ears.
Shen Xiaojiang was unable to think normally, like a robot following instructions.
“Shen Xiaojiang, hold me tight,” Chen Yi repeated coquettishly.
Shen Xiaojiang obediently complied.
Her reason had broken down, but she had no regrets.
Their breathing grew more ragged. Chen Yi leaned close to Shen Xiaojiang’s ear and whispered, “Later, be gentle. I’m afraid of pain.”
