- Chapter 4 - Seventh Master He
That cold little face finally showed another expression, a sight that made the man’s throat go dry and his Adam’s apple bob. Driven by a sudden, inexplicable impulse, he grabbed the youth’s soft hair and moved in forcefully, intending to kiss him.
“Bang!”
Gu He never hesitated when he struck. His movements were swift and sharp, each punch landing solidly. He accurately hammered Zhao Pengtai’s cheek and jaw. Power surged from his slender arms; those thin limbs, wrapped in lean muscle, were unexpectedly potent.
“Crack.”
The dull sound of bone was swallowed by the gasps erupting from the surroundings.
Zhao Pengtai’s bodyguards rushed out brandishing iron rods. Without hesitation, one swung toward Gu He’s face. A hot, wet bead of blood slid past the corner of the youth’s eye.
Gu He flipped his palm and caught the descending iron rod mid-air. With force radiating from his wrist, he instantly knocked down two of the burly men.
However, he was outnumbered. Gu He was soon pinned by four or five men. Punches fell like rain upon his brow bone and the corners of his mouth.
Zhao Pengtai spat out a mouthful of blood-streaked saliva as a ruthless streak surged in his heart. He grabbed Gu He’s hair and, with a heavy thud, slammed him face-down onto the glass tabletop. The cold glass pressed against the bruises on the youth’s face, a sight that made onlookers’ hearts tremble with fear.
He cursed in a fit of humiliated rage, “What do you think you are! Don’t you poor students just rely on selling your bodies to please us? Stop acting so damn noble!”
“M-Manager Zhao, Boss Xu is here,” a subordinate hurriedly reminded him.
Speak of the devil.
Gu He was released and stepped aside. He took several deep breaths of the turbid air. After a few minutes of recovery, his face returned to its usual indifference.
“Oh, if it isn’t Manager Zhao?” Xu Jichuan walked forward unhurriedly, taking in the sight of Zhao Pengtai’s poised henchmen and his battered face. He thought to himself that this kid’s skills must be decent and his explosive power was quite strong.
Xu Jichuan’s fiery red hair shimmered under the lights. His eyes were bright, his teeth were snowy white, and his skin was fair. Despite wearing makeup and sporting that vivid red hair, he looked entirely natural in his flamboyant, dazzling way.
“So, it is Boss Xu.” Zhao Pengtai narrowed his eyes as he looked the man over. It was this sissy again.
Everyone at PURE was top-tier. Although Xu Jichuan looked young and easy to deal with, anyone by He Yunqi’s side was deeply formidable. Xu Jichuan exchanged pleasantries with a smile, then glanced at Gu He. “Your person is a bit disobedient.”
Xu Jichuan glanced at Gu He. The face was unfamiliar; he then remembered that someone had called in sick today and sent a friend to fill the shift.
As someone who had seen it all, Xu Jichuan took a glass of red wine from Gu He’s hand and approached the guest. “Manager Zhao knows that business these days is a two-way choice. We live in a society ruled by law now.”
“I spent money to consume. What? You will not let me?”
“That depends on the figure you are willing to pay.” Xu Jichuan’s smile was meaningful.
“Screw your mother!” Zhao Pengtai’s eyes widened, his temper clearly reaching its limit. Was this grandson of a bitch mocking him for being poor?
Xu Jichuan’s smile vanished, replaced by a chilling gaze. “Manager Zhao, you dare to cause a scene in Seventh Master’s territory?”
“Furthermore, who the hell are you talking about? Is your mouth so foul because you wiped it with a laxative? Do not think that putting on glasses and a suit can cover the disgusting stench radiating from your rotting hide. I can smell that rancid odor from a mile away.”
Xu Jichuan usually seemed like a smiling, non-threatening youth. However, once he turned serious, he was an entirely different person. Moreover, the word “mother” was his greatest taboo; Zhao Pengtai had clearly touched his nerves.
Even if the owner did not appear, the name alone was enough to strike terror into people’s hearts. Everyone said he was violent, tyrannical, and unpredictable.
“Seventh Master? He has not even secured his footing yet; is he not afraid of tripping? He swallowed so many of my businesses in one breath; is he not afraid of choking to death!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Xu Jichuan delivered a ruthless kick to Zhao Pengtai’s knee. His kneecap flared with pain, and with a heavy thud, he fell to his knees. His lackeys were thrown into a panic and did not dare to move. After all, this was someone else’s turf.
Zhao Pengtai narrowed his eyes. All of this humiliation was caused by Gu He. He swung a fist at the brat, his voice burning with a rage that consumed his last bit of reason. “You deserve to die too.”
Gu He was alert and dodged to the side. Unexpectedly, someone nearby maliciously stuck out a foot to trip him. Caught off guard, he collided with a firm, hard shoulder. Immediately, a pair of broad hands pressed against his lower back to steady him.
Meanwhile, Zhao Pengtai was kicked to the ground by Xie Jun.
Grimacing in pain, Zhao Pengtai’s arrogant flame was instantly extinguished. He was about to erupt in curses when he saw the other man’s face. His expression changed drastically. “S-Seventh Master.”
Nearly everyone in the room stood up in unison. The room fell into a dead silence. The revelers immediately gathered their clothes and retreated quietly to the side.
Zhao Pengtai’s heart sank.
Seventh Master He, the Cold-Faced Buddha.
