- Chapter 30 - The Clothes Are Discovered
When Ye Qinglan pushed open the side bedroom door, Su Jin was sitting cross-legged on the bed, her fingers sliding frantically across her phone screen while she muttered a non-stop stream of curses:
“This ID ‘Lan Lan’s Little Sweetie’ is absolutely a hater in disguise! Just yesterday they were leading the trend in the super-topic saying Ye Qinglan was acting like a big shot, and today they’re pretending to be a fan offering a hypocritical apology? Ptooey!”
She poked the screen indignantly, a few stray hairs sticking up from her messy, long mane.
“And this ‘Entertainment Industry Disciplinary Committee,’ opening and closing his mouth saying Ye Qinglan relied on a financial backer to get to the top. Where’s the damn evidence? Is keyboard warrior rumor-mongering free of charge these days? Just watch me report you until your account is banned!”
Ye Qinglan leaned against the doorframe, watching Su Jin’s “bristling” state with great interest; the gloom in her heart was swept away instantly.
The more Su Jin spoke, the more agitated she became, her fair face flushing red with anger: “The most disgusting one is this ‘Fang Qi Global Fan Club’! They’ve already been caught buying thugs to hurt people, and they still dare to jump around here? Your master’s ruined face is retribution! She deserves it! Low-life! Shameless!”
She was scolding with gusto when she suddenly felt a chill down her back. She jerked her head up and met Ye Qinglan’s half-smiling gaze.
“Ah!” Su Jin’s hand shook, and the phone went clatter onto the bed. “You… when did you come in…”
Ye Qinglan walked slowly to the bedside and picked up the phone.
The screen was still on the Weibo report page. The latest comment was one Su Jin had just posted: “If you keep talking nonsense, believe it or not, I’ll crawl through the internet cable and tear your mouth apart!”
Ye Qinglan read it aloud, raising an eyebrow with a hint of danger in her voice.
“How exactly are you going to tear their mouth apart?”
Su Jin gave a “howl” and lunged to grab the phone, only to be caught around the waist by Ye Qinglan and pressed down onto the bed.
As the mattress dipped slightly, Su Jin shrank her neck, her voice getting smaller and smaller: “I… I just couldn’t stand it. They were saying such nasty things…”
Looking at her reddened earlobes, Ye Qinglan suddenly lowered her head and gave her a light peck on the lips: “Well scolded.”
Su Jin’s face flushed crimson instantly. She twisted her body uncomfortably and stammered, “Did Zhao Man leave? I thought she’d stay for dinner.”
Ye Qinglan pinched her waist and lay down beside her, “She has things to do.”
After saying that, she leaned over to look at the phone. “What are you looking at?”
“Just… the messy stuff online.” Su Jin stuffed the phone under the pillow. “Fang Qi’s fans are still acting up, saying you framed her…”
Ye Qinglan let out a soft laugh, reaching out to stroke her hair. “Let them talk.”
She paused, “You’ll rest at home for the next few days and wait for the film crew’s notice.”
Su Jin nodded, then suddenly remembered something: “That… about Song Jing’s side…”
“She can barely take care of herself,” Ye Qinglan interrupted, rubbing the top of her head. “Don’t think about those things.”
This intimate gesture left Su Jin momentarily stunned.
She stared blankly at Ye Qinglan’s profile so close at hand; the long eyelashes cast fine shadows under the light, making those eyes appear even deeper.
“You…” Just as Su Jin was about to speak, she saw Ye Qinglan frown and reach under the quilt with a tug.
“What is this?”
“What…” Su Jin suddenly remembered what was under the covers. Her face changed drastically as she lunged to grab it, “Wait” but it was too late.
Ye Qinglan had already lifted that black lace camisole dress something that could barely be called clothing with shoulder straps as thin as spider silk dangling from her fingertips.
Her gaze moved from the dress to Su Jin’s burning face, her brow arching slightly: “This is…”
“It’s not mine!” Su Jin blurted out, immediately realizing how clumsy the excuse was. “I mean… this is…”
She stammered, unable to give an explanation, and reached out to snatch it back, but Ye Qinglan easily dodged her.
“Hidden so tightly…” Ye Qinglan’s voice suddenly turned cold. “Who were you planning to wear this for?”
Su Jin was stunned by the sudden interrogation: “I didn’t…”
“No?” Ye Qinglan gave a cold laugh, her finger hooking the matching leather collar. “Then what is this?”
The metal bell emitted a crisp ting with her movement, sounding exceptionally sharp in the quiet room.
Su Jin’s face was so red it looked like it might bleed. She opened her mouth but didn’t know how to explain.
“I’ll count to three,” Ye Qinglan’s voice dropped dangerously low. “Tell the truth.”
“One.”
Su Jin’s fingers gripped the corner of the quilt.
“Two.”
Her eyelashes trembled violently.
“Three.”
“It’s a system mission!” Su Jin closed her eyes and shouted. “It insisted I wear this… for some roleplay…”
The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted it.
Ptooey!
Originally she only had to wear it once, but now that she’d mentioned “roleplay,” who knew how Ye Qinglan would torment her?
But now that the words were out, there was no taking them back.
The room was terrifyingly quiet, she could only hear her own hurried breathing.
Ye Qinglan didn’t speak for a long time. Feeling uneasy, Su Jin peeked through her eyelids at the person beside her.
Unknown to her, Ye Qinglan had fished out the other items from under the quilt and laid them out one by one on the bed.
Su Jin’s heart thudded. She subtly pulled the quilt, trying to cover herself.
Ye Qinglan didn’t seem to notice her movement and let out a light laugh: “Is that so?”
She slowly smoothed out the wrinkles on the dress, her fingertips lingering on the near-transparent fabric: “In that case…”
She suddenly looked up, a dark glint flashing in her eyes, her smile becoming meaningful. “Put it on for me to see.”
“What?” Su Jin’s eyes widened, thinking she had misheard.
“Put it on,” Ye Qinglan repeated, her tone brook no argument. “Now.”
Su Jin’s ears burned hot. She instinctively shrank back. “This… this isn’t very good…”
Ye Qinglan didn’t answer; she just watched her quietly.
That gaze felt tangible, leaving Su Jin nowhere to run.
“I…” Su Jin bit her lip, finally resigning herself as she reached out. “Give it to me…”
Sooner or later, it has to be done. Since I can’t hide, I might as well enjoy it!
Close your eyes, open them, and the night will be over!
However, Ye Qinglan didn’t hand it over immediately.
She looked at the clothing thoughtfully and suddenly asked: “How much time did the system give you?”
“24 hours…” Su Jin answered in a small voice.
“Then there’s no rush.” Ye Qinglan placed the clothes on the nightstand and stood up. “Eat dinner first.”
This turn of events left Su Jin momentarily stunned.
She stared blankly as Ye Qinglan walked toward the door, until the other woman glanced back at her: “Not coming?”
Su Jin snapped out of it and hurried to follow.
Before leaving, she tried to clear the things off the bed, but a certain someone seemed to have eyes in the back of her head, tossing out a chilly sentence.
“For every item you hide, add one play scenario.”
Su Jin’s body stiffened; she didn’t dare move again.
Dinner was eaten absentmindedly.
Su Jin’s eyes couldn’t help but drift toward the stairs; her mind was filled with the scene she would have to face in a moment.
The more she thought, the less she could eat.
The more she thought, the more she wanted to just pack it in and “pass away” right then and there.
Ye Qinglan, however, acted as if nothing was wrong, even eating half a bowl more than usual.
“Full?”
Seeing that Su Jin had barely touched her chopsticks, Ye Qinglan wiped the corner of her mouth.
Su Jin nodded, then immediately shook her head: “I… I’ll eat a bit more…”
Stall for time. It would be best if Zhao Man came back and found something to take Ye Qinglan away.
Ye Qinglan saw through her thoughts but didn’t expose her.
She stood up to clear the dishes, intentionally slowing her movements to give Su Jin enough time for “psychological construction.”
When the clock hit nine, Ye Qinglan finally put down her coffee cup: “Let’s go.”
Those two words made Su Jin feel like she was sitting on needles.
She followed slowly behind Ye Qinglan up the stairs, every step feeling like she was treading on cotton.
Back in the room, that set of clothes was still lying quietly on the bed, looking even more suggestive under the warm yellow light.
Su Jin stood at the door, her feet feeling as if they had grown roots.
“Do you need me to help you?” Ye Qinglan leaned against the doorframe, her tone as flat as if they were discussing the weather.
Su Jin shook her head, took a deep breath, and finally took the first step.
She grabbed the clothes and rushed into the bathroom without looking back: “I… I’ll change in there!”
The moment the bathroom door closed, she let out a long sigh of relief.
The person in the mirror had flushed cheeks and watery eyes, looking both nervous and expectant.
“Calm down…” she told herself, her hands trembling as she unbuttoned her shirt.
Five minutes later, Su Jin stared at herself in the mirror, so ashamed she wanted to find a hole to crawl into.
The lace fabric was pitifully scarce, barely covering anything. The bell on the collar around her neck chimed with her movements.
“Ready?” Ye Qinglan’s voice came from outside.
Su Jin bit her lip and finally plucked up the courage to push the door open.
Ye Qinglan was sitting on the edge of the bed looking at her phone. Hearing the sound, she looked up, her pupils contracting sharply.
The dim wall lamp in the bedroom cast an ambiguous glow over Su Jin.
Su Jin stood awkwardly at the foot of the bed. The black lace clung to her curves, the semi-transparent material making her snow-white skin appear faintly visible. The complex spider web patterns spread from her collarbone to the tops of her thighs, cinching at the waist into an inviting hollow bow.
Because it was a bunny style, there was a white fluffy ball on the lower back simulating a rabbit tail.
Ye Qinglan’s gaze felt physical as it slid from Su Jin’s reddened earlobes all the way down to her slightly trembling knees, finally fixing on those bewildered eyes.
“Turn around,” she commanded in a husky voice.
Su Jin was so embarrassed her toes curled, yet she still obediently turned in a circle.
The bell on the leather collar made a fine sound, and the silver chain dangled between her shoulder blades, swaying gently with her movements and casting fine shadows on her smooth back.
The lace garter belts squeezed the soft flesh of her thighs, and the black stockings wrinkled slightly at the back of her knees, like ruffled raven feathers.
The bell rang crisply with her movements, sounding exceptionally clear in the silent room.
“What else did the system tell you to do?” Ye Qinglan suddenly asked.
Su Jin blinked, then shook her head: “Just… just wear this…”
“Is that so?” Ye Qinglan stood up, approaching step by step. “No other requirements?”
Su Jin was forced back until her spine hit the cold wall.
Ye Qinglan’s breath was close at hand; a hint of dangerous aggression mixed into her pheromones, making Su Jin’s legs turn weak.
“N-no…” she answered softly, her eyelashes trembling violently.
Ye Qinglan gave a light laugh, her finger stroking the collar around Su Jin’s neck.
“Then now…”
She leaned down and whispered into her ear, “It’s my turn.”
