After Escaping My Paranoid Wife's Control - Chapter 19
Song Yu pushed open the door of the rented apartment. She placed the things she was carrying on the cabinet by the door, muttering to herself, “Back to my little broke house.”
The little broke house was a bit messy.
After changing into her slippers, she enthusiastically began to clean up.
During the eleven years she had been with Ji Mingsui, Ji Mingsui had never let her do any housework.
When the two of them were poor at the very beginning, Ji Mingsui did it.
Later, when Ji Mingsui made some money, she hired hourly workers.
Once Ji Mingsui made her fortune, they moved all the way from high-end apartments and large flat-floor apartments in the city center to a luxury villa next to a scenic area.
The domestic staff at home also changed from daytime aunties and live-in maids to a housekeeping team of over a hundred people.
To be fair, Ji Mingsui loved her very much and treated her well. She wasn’t the kind of person who took her blessings for granted or didn’t appreciate good intentions.
At first, she thought that when two people lived together, they always had to accommodate and adapt to each other. Since Ji Mingsui had a strong desire for control and she had a need for private space, then she and Ji Mingsui would each take a step back and work things out.
As a result, whenever she took a step back, Ji Mingsui would take a step forward. If she took another step back, Ji Mingsui would take another step forward. When she took three steps back, Ji Mingsui would advance six steps…
Talk about giving an inch and taking a mile.
During those eleven years with Ji Mingsui, she was the only one who kept backing up.
She had retreated to the point where she couldn’t even decide a minor detail like what color socks to wear when going out today.
Yet, Ji Mingsui had strictly never taken a single step back.
After mopping the floor, she carried the clothes she had changed out of to the small balcony.
The rented apartment didn’t have a washing machine, so she had to hand-wash her clothes in a plastic basin on the small balcony.
Song Yu had originally intended to throw all the clothes in her hands into the plastic basin at once.
But before throwing them in, she pursed her lips and singled out the jacket that carried the citrus scent of Ji Mingsui’s body.
During the eleven years with Ji Mingsui, she had fallen asleep holding Ji Mingsui every single night.
It really was every single night.
Because she didn’t need to work and was bored to death every day, she would follow Ji Mingsui wherever she went on business trips.
So tonight was the first time in eleven years that she was staying in an empty room alone.
Being alone in an empty room for the first time, she inevitably found it hard to adapt.
Therefore, she specially picked out this jacket, planning to use this jacket tainted with the citrus scent when she went to sleep at night, just in case she missed Ji Mingsui too much to fall asleep…
The tips of Song Yu’s ears turned red.
She admitted that she was being a bit perverted right now.
But she couldn’t blame herself; she had to blame Ji Mingsui.
Although she didn’t know the exact tactics of those schemes and intrigues Ji Mingsui used to deal with her, capturing her body was definitely one of Ji Mingsui’s strategies.
After she got together with Ji Mingsui, Ji Mingsui would find different ways to satisfy her every night, raising her threshold exceptionally high.
At the very beginning, whatever Ji Mingsui played with her felt novel and exciting.
By the end, even if Ji Mingsui wracked her brains, it would only elicit a sentence from her with a tinge of disdain…”Is that it?”
After hanging up the washed clothes to dry, Song Yu tidied up the room a bit more.
Then she boiled water to make instant noodles.
Her dinner consisted of instant noodles and potato chips.
Song Yu sat on the small sofa, picked up a can of ice-cold beer, and pulled open the tab with a “tsst” sound.
She raised the cold beer and clinked it against the air. “To freedom!”
The small sofa faced the room door directly.
Song Yu leaned back lazily on the sofa. As she stared at the tightly closed door, she suddenly dazed off for a moment.
Had she really escaped successfully?
In her past life, during the first two years she was with Ji Mingsui, she had run away very frequently.
But Ji Mingsui was always one step ahead.
So it often happened that right after she escaped and settled down in a place she thought was incredibly secretive, Ji Mingsui would appear within fifty meters of her shortly after, using any means necessary to force her to submit.
For example, after she ran away, she checked into a hotel room.
Room 401.
Half an hour later, Ji Mingsui checked into Room 402.
Then that very night, Ji Mingsui would wear a bathrobe, run over to knock on her door, and lie that the water temperature in her own room was unstable, wanting to borrow the bathroom in her room to take a shower.
The memories of the past flooded into Song Yu’s mind.
It was still from a third-person perspective.
[Song Yu opened the door slightly, leaving a crack. Looking coldly at Ji Mingsui, she said, “If the water temperature in your room is unstable, you should go to the hotel staff to solve it instead of running over to borrow my bathroom.”
Ji Mingsui curled her lips slightly. “You’re right.”
“I’ll go right now.”
Then she turned around and walked toward the elevator.
Through the crack in the door, Song Yu watched Ji Mingsui’s receding figure, her brows furrowed tightly.
The bathrobe on Ji Mingsui’s body was loose and untidy. As she walked, her exquisite collarbones and fair, tender thighs were faintly visible.
Song Yu knew Ji Mingsui was doing it on purpose, but she just couldn’t stand it.
She shouted at Ji Mingsui’s back, “Can’t you put on some clothes before going?”
“Or just call the front desk from your room?”
“Do you absolutely have to go to the hotel lobby yourself to find the staff?”
The hallway was empty, but the hotel lobby was bustling with people. If Ji Mingsui really went down like this, people would definitely stare at her.
Ji Mingsui ignored Song Yu and kept walking straight toward the elevator.
Song Yu gritted her teeth and endured it for dozens of seconds, but in the end, she couldn’t hold back. “Ji Mingsui!”
“Stop right there!”
She pushed open the door, ran a few steps to get behind Ji Mingsui, and grabbed Ji Mingsui’s arm.
Ji Mingsui turned around, sized Song Yu up for a few moments, and said with a smile on her face, “What’s wrong?”
With a dark face, taking advantage of the fact that there was no one in the hallway right now, Song Yu scooped Ji Mingsui up by her waist.
The corners of Ji Mingsui’s mouth curved upward. She wrapped one arm around Song Yu’s neck, leaned in, and kissed Song Yu’s cheek.
Song Yu’s face grew even darker. She turned around, carried Ji Mingsui back into Room 401, and said coldly, “I’ll lend you my bathroom.”
“Go take a shower.”
She had originally wanted to throw Ji Mingsui onto the bed with force.
But fearing that Ji Mingsui might get hurt, she had no choice but to carefully place Ji Mingsui down on the bed.
Ji Mingsui sat on the bed, bracing her hands backward against the mattress with her legs crossed.
她 tilted her head to stare at Song Yu. “What?”
“Don’t want others to look at me?”
Ji Mingsui’s lazy and casual appearance was incredibly seductive.
Song Yu swallowed her saliva, quickly turned her back to avoid looking at Ji Mingsui, saving herself from stepping into the trap Ji Mingsui had set up again.
She answered coldly, “You can let whoever wants to look look at you, it has nothing to do with me.”
“Okay,” Ji Mingsui responded with raised eyebrows, getting out of bed.
After walking into the bathroom, she didn’t close the door immediately. Instead, she held the doorknob and invited with a light laugh, “Want to come in and wash together?”
The tip of Song Yu’s ear twitched.
A trap!
Ji Mingsui was setting up a trap for her again.
Moreover, every time Ji Mingsui set up a trap for her, she would use herself as bait, being extremely willing to compromise and incredibly calculating.
She took a deep breath, remained resolute, and shook her head. “No.”
“If you don’t want to come in, then forget it.” Ji Mingsui shrugged her shoulders, then closed the door, and locked the bathroom door from the inside with a “click”.
Hearing the door lock, Song Yu furrowed her brows and began to sulk.
She had already said she wasn’t going in, so why did Ji Mingsui lock the door?
Was she guarding against her?
A few seconds later, the bathroom door unlocked again with another “click”.
Hearing the sound, Song Yu’s eyes lit up slightly.
Ji Mingsui pushed open the bathroom door. “Giving you one more chance.”
“Are you coming in or not?”
This time, Song Yu didn’t dare to talk tough. She turned around and, under Ji Mingsui’s gaze, walked into the bathroom with a serious face.
Ji Mingsui curled her lip. “Heh.”
After entering the bathroom, Song Yu closed the door behind her.
She turned around, pressed Ji Mingsui against the door panel, and asked switching to a tone of dissatisfaction, “What are you ‘heh’-ing at?”
The corners of Ji Mingsui’s mouth carried a smile. “Heh at you, this ungrateful dog thing that can’t be tamed.”
Song Yu didn’t speak. She turned her face away and started to sulk again.
She hadn’t been dog-like before.
How did she become more and more dog-like after being with Ji Mingsui for these two years?
Seeing this, Ji Mingsui raised her arms, wrapped them around Song Yu’s neck, and sighed softly.
After raising her for more than two years, she had finally molded Song Yu into a semblance of what she liked.
The corners of her lips hooked up as she coaxed softly, “Even if you can’t be tamed, I will still feed you.”
“In the future, whenever you want it, I will feed you at any time.”
“Okay?”]
