After Entering a Contract Marriage with a Disabled Alpha - Chapter 43
Qin Shen held Pei Yu for a long time, “recharging” his batteries; the youth’s rose fragrance always had a way of soothing the irritation in his heart.
After kissing for a while, Pei Yu remembered the surveillance cameras installed in the hallway. Overcome with shyness, he tugged at Qin Shen’s sleeve. “Let’s go back to the room before we hug anymore. Don’t stay out here.”
“There’s no one around,” Qin Shen noted, a trace of a smile flickering in his eyes.
“There are cameras…” Pei Yu stood up straight and, without another word, began pushing Qin Shen’s wheelchair.
Sitting in the chair, Qin Shen let out a helpless smile. This was the reality of not being able to control his own body—he couldn’t exactly hit a “force stop” button on the controls, so he had to let Pei Yu lead him back to the room.
Once inside, Pei Yu worried Qin Shen might be upset, so he played the part of the “good boy” and pecked Qin Shen’s cheek. “If we kiss in the room, no one can see,” he said, a blush blooming on his face.
“Just a kiss on the cheek? Isn’t that a bit too simple?” Qin Shen pinched the youth’s cheek as if playing with a toy.
“You mean…?” Pei Yu played dumb.
Qin Shen chuckled. “At least a kiss on the lips. I’m not even asking for a deep one.”
“Fine.” Following his lead, Pei Yu leaned down and gave Qin Shen’s thin lips a quick, light kiss. “I’m going to do my homework now. The teacher assigned so many worksheets for the three-day holiday.”
As he turned to leave, Qin Shen instinctively grabbed his wrist. He didn’t want to leave that sweet rose scent; the moment it was gone, he felt uncomfortable all over, his emotions turning volatile.
Dr. Lu had warned him that the closer he got to his Rut, the more he needed to keep his pheromones from fluctuating. But seeing Lu Shan try to hurt Pei Yu earlier had caused him to lose control. He had even forgotten that Lu Shan was his biological father; his mind was entirely occupied by the singular thought that Pei Yu must not be harmed.
An Alpha deploying a massive amount of pheromones for an attack causes intense emotional turbulence that is hard to quiet. Every cell in Qin Shen’s body felt like it was packed with sparks; if he wasn’t careful, his latent violence would ignite into a roar.
“What is it?” Pei Yu looked down to meet his eyes. He added an explanation: “Tomorrow will probably be a busy day, and I’m not sure about the plans for the following two days. I want to get as much homework done as I can while I have the time today.”
“Yes, I understand,” Qin Shen said hoarsely.
He said he understood, yet he didn’t let go of Pei Yu’s wrist. Instead, he gripped it tighter. With just a little pressure from those long fingers, ambiguous pink marks appeared on Pei Yu’s soft, fair skin.
“If you don’t let me go, how am I supposed to do my homework?” Pei Yu was bewildered, blinking his eyes in confusion.
Qin Shen licked his lips and said slowly, “The doctor said my Rut should be arriving within the next few days.”
The air grew quiet, an undercurrent surging between them. In that instant, Pei Yu realized the presence of the crisp cedar pheromones in the room had become much stronger. They felt like swirling snowflakes, coveting the little rose blooming in the drifts. At any moment, the snow might fall and drench the delicate, tender petals.
Qin Shen’s eyes were dark, staring unblinkingly at Pei Yu with a direct, piercing intensity that held a vast, boundless meaning. Pei Yu felt a momentary daze, as if… he were being watched by a large predator. The beast had been hiding in the shadows of the brush, appearing ready to pounce at any second.
An Alpha can exert an incredible sense of pressure and aggression. Pei Yu’s heart skipped a beat, and the skin where his wrist was held began to burn, the heat spreading to his very bones.
“I—I know!” Pei Yu nervously pulled his hand back.
The sense of danger from being targeted by an Alpha sent a chill down his spine, but then he remembered that the person standing before him was Qin Shen, and his fear vanished.
“Is there a specific time?” Pei Yu’s fingers felt weak. He wanted a precise time so he could prepare in advance.
“No, I’m not sure.” Qin Shen rubbed his fingertips together, a hidden look of regret in his eyes as if he were mourning the loss of the youth’s skin contact.
“Oh… it’s okay. When it happens, I’ll just help you,” Pei Yu said, his cheeks burning.
“Aren’t you afraid?” The burning in Qin Shen’s throat intensified, like a fire that couldn’t be extinguished.
“I’m not afraid.” Pei Yu nodded firmly.
“Even if it means… going to bed together?” Qin Shen’s questioning became more aggressive.
The question stunned Pei Yu. Go—go to bed?!
His eyes flashed with shock, and his face turned a sudden, brilliant red, the color flooding all the way down to his collarbone. Pei Yu vaguely knew how terrifying an Alpha’s Rut could be. He had instinctively avoided the thought of “going to bed.” It felt like as long as Qin Shen didn’t mention it, he could keep playing dumb.
The internet was full of exaggerated claims about how much an Alpha in Rut craves their most compatible Omega. Perhaps they weren’t exaggerations; perhaps that was simply the reality.
“What if I can’t control myself? Even then, do you still want to comfort me and help me through it?” Qin Shen pressed his lips together, waiting patiently for an answer.
“C-can’t you just… control it?” Pei Yu twisted his fingers nervously, so embarrassed he could hardly speak.
Qin Shen pulled the youth’s soft body into his arms, his voice low and slow. “Baby, if I can’t control it… I’m afraid I’ll hurt you. If this ends up damaging our relationship, I’d rather go through it alone.”
“Don’t…” Pei Yu interjected immediately. He licked his dry lips and, after a long pause, said hesitantly, “Then just… try your best to control it. If it really reaches a point where it’s unavoidable, then…” Pei Yu’s eyelashes trembled, and he fell silent.
“Unavoidable?” Qin Shen found the description amusing.
“Uh, that’s not it. Anyway, I’m definitely going to help you,” Pei Yu said. “As long as you don’t use the Rut as an excuse to purposely…” He looked like he was about to cry from embarrassment. “Don’t purposely bully me.”
Qin Shen’s heart skipped a beat. Looking at Pei Yu’s blushing face, his heart melted. He squeezed Pei Yu’s soft palm and made a solemn promise: “I won’t purposely bully you, but I will definitely bully you.”
Hearing this, Pei Yu felt like his ears were about to start smoking. As Qin Shen’s dry, rough fingertip ground heavily against his waist, Pei Yu felt his whole body go weak.
He nearly jumped. “I’m going to do my homework now!”
Pei Yu thought he had found a reason to make a successful escape, only to find himself falling into a new round of tension and shame.
The desk lamp illuminated a small corner of the room. The chair that went with the wooden desk had been moved aside by Qin Shen; the wheelchair and Qin Shen’s legs had become Pei Yu’s seat.
The man spread his legs slightly, letting Pei Yu sit in the small space between them.
“Qin Shen, I can’t do my problems like this!”
Pei Yu’s back felt numb from the scorching heat of Qin Shen’s body. His waist was held tight, and Qin Shen leaned over his back, his tall nose pressed against the back of Pei Yu’s neck. The man was sniffing and kissing him repeatedly, appearing completely addicted and unwilling to let go.
With every breath Qin Shen took, he let out a puff of scorching air. Every time it brushed against him, Pei Yu’s eyelashes trembled. Qin Shen was holding him too tightly. To avoid such close contact, Pei Yu tried to scoot forward, but every time he managed a tiny bit of distance, Qin Shen would follow right along. Eventually, his chest was pressed tight against the edge of the desk, with no more room to move.
“Why can’t you do the problems? I’m just holding you,” Qin Shen said. His tall, strong arms encircled Pei Yu, cradling him entirely. “Baby, just keep working. You don’t need to mind me.”
As Qin Shen spoke, the heat of his breath made Pei Yu shiver. How could his sensitive neck withstand such deliberate provocation? Almost simultaneously, the wild rose scent in the air grew thicker and more intoxicating.
Pei Yu never expected Qin Shen to be so shameless. He was clearly teasing and bullying him on purpose. In this situation, how could he possibly focus on homework? He wasn’t a block of ice with no feelings. And even if he were a block of ice, he’d surely melt under this kind of embrace.
“H-how can you be like this…” Pei Yu’s voice carried a tone of surrender and pleading that he hadn’t even noticed.
Qin Shen showed no mercy. The tormented Pei Yu could only bury his head lower, trying to escape Qin Shen’s sniffing kisses.
“If you get that close to the desk, aren’t you afraid of becoming nearsighted?” Qin Shen’s lips curled into a smile. His long finger hooked under Pei Yu’s chin, pulling the escaping little rose back into his embrace.
When his earlobes were gently licked and toyed with by Qin Shen, Pei Yu was so overwhelmed by shame that he nearly cried out.
In this situation, how could he possibly worry about whether he’d become nearsighted? Struggling violently like a reflex, Pei Yu ignored the strange, spreading itch on his ear and shouted in utter embarrassment:
“Then just focus on your treatment! Don’t… don’t play with my ears!”
Qin Shen looked down at the boy’s blushing ears, and a wave of longing surged in his heart. Fearful of pushing Pei Yu too far and losing even the privilege of a hug, he could only coax him hoarsely, “Alright, I won’t play with baby’s ears. I’ll listen to everything baby says.”
One “baby” after another, spoken in a low, raspy voice thick with yearning, made Pei Yu’s face flush a deep crimson. His heart hammered against his ribs. He gripped his pen so tightly that his knuckles turned white, nearly snapping the barrel in half.
He forced his attention onto the worksheet, but the black characters on the page began to blur and double. After taking several deep breaths, Pei Yu gritted his teeth and stared at the problems.
Just… just treat this as ‘anti-interference’ training from Qin Shen, he told himself. Pei Yu, focus!
While Pei Yu was desperately trying to hypnotize himself into ignoring the presence behind him, he had no idea that Qin Shen was once again coveting the back of his neck.
Through the clingy hugging and shifting, the scent-blocking patch on Pei Yu’s neck had already begun to peel at the edges. Due to the sweat, the adhesive had lost most of its stickiness. With a gentle tug, the smooth, slightly raised Omega gland was completely exposed to Qin Shen’s eyes.
Qin Shen’s strong, muscular arms suddenly tightened. With his dark bangs hanging over his eyes, he began to sniff incessantly around the youth’s nape. His movements were obsessive, like a predator driven by pure instinct.
The overwhelming rose fragrance filled his senses, making his heart drum wildly. All logic was shattered by the scent; his breathing grew heavy, and his scorching gaze locked onto the gland releasing that sweet perfume. He could no longer restrain the Alpha’s primal desire for his Omega.
Qin Shen parted his lips, and his soft tongue lightly swept over the back of the boy’s neck.
“Mmh…” The sudden warmth on his nape made Pei Yu’s eyelashes flutter. “Ge… Gege, don’t kiss there.” A massive wave of shame washed over him, and he sounded like he was on the verge of tears.
But Qin Shen, lost in a deep haze of desire, wasn’t about to be swayed by a single “Gege.” He remained deaf to the plea, all his emotions poured into the pheromones. He completely enveloped the youth, his sharp teeth grazing the thin skin of Pei Yu’s nape.
His voice trembled with a thrill: “Baby, you really smell so good.”
Under the soft white light, fine beads of sweat appeared on Pei Yu’s forehead and the tip of his nose. His skin looked snowy and translucent, and his cheeks were dusted with a soft, downy pink. He was breathtaking.
Qin Shen was like a large cat addicted to catnip; a dark red hue surged in his eyes as the last of his reason evaporated. His sharp teeth scraped across the nape, sending a jolt of static-like electricity through Pei Yu that made his scalp go numb.
Feeling Qin Shen’s teeth slowly sinking into his neck, Pei Yu said in a panicked, helpless voice, “I don’t… I don’t smell good.”
A massive amount of sharp cedar pheromones swirled around Pei Yu, soaking into his skin as if they had a mind of their own, stirring his emotions. Though Pei Yu didn’t want to respond, his 100% compatibility with Qin Shen meant his own rose-scented pheromones began to release uncontrollably.
In the bedroom, the two thick scents tangled together, thread by thread, as a warm, heavy atmosphere surged. Pei Yu’s brain was turning into mush. With every breath Qin Shen took, the vibration of his chest was felt clearly against Pei Yu’s back. A continuous burning sensation spread from his spine to his limbs, nearly wilting him from the heat.
“Baby, let me take a bite.”
Qin Shen’s eyes were dark red as he stared fixedly at Pei Yu. He licked his dry lips, looking exactly like a predator salivating over a soft, harmless rabbit.
“N-no,” Pei Yu said breathlessly, his entire body tensed.
“It’s okay, baby says it’s okay, right?” Qin Shen’s voice was incredibly hoarse.
This time, without waiting for an answer, Qin Shen opened his mouth.
His nape was suddenly bitten, and Pei Yu’s eyes snapped wide as the taut string of his sanity finally snapped. He tilted his head back, his jawline carving a sharp arc in the air.
“Qin… Qin Shen…”
As the Alpha pheromones were injected, the pain at the broken skin was gradually replaced by a strange, overwhelming pleasure. The sensation of a temporary marking between a 100% compatible AO couple was no different from that act itself.
Pei Yu’s vision went white, as if fireworks were exploding in bursts, and his whole body began to burn. The Alpha pheromones flowing in his blood aggressively laid claim to him.
Time ticked away.
The stimulation of the temporary mark was too much; the bite on his neck felt like a searing fire, yet his nerves were hyper-aroused, his blood racing. His eyes were misty with tears, and his lips parted in an unconscious plea for mercy.
“Wuu…” Pei Yu sniffled, his nose turning red as the mist in his eyes turned into crystalline tears that rolled down his face.
The sound of his distress finally called back Qin Shen’s lost logic.
Tasting the mixture of rose and iron, Qin Shen’s fingers twitched, and his Adam’s apple bobbed. As he pulled away, he gave the wound a soothing lick. Looking down, he saw that the thin skin was already seeped with bright red blood.
Qin Shen froze for a long time. His brain was still hot, and he could hardly remember his frantic actions from a moment ago. He murmured softly, “Baby, I’m sorry… I couldn’t control myself just now.”
Hearing this made Pei Yu feel even more wronged. “I told you I didn’t smell good. I told you not to bite, but you still did.” He accused Qin Shen of his “evil” behavior, the corners of his narrow eyes red, looking incredibly pitiful.
Qin Shen’s heart ached with guilt. He hugged Pei Yu tightly, filled with self-reproach. “If it’s like this before the Rut even starts, then… maybe we should forget it.”
Pei Yu blinked, his lips trembling. Just as he was about to speak, his chin was tilted up. Qin Shen tenderly kissed away the tear tracks on his cheeks.
“I’m sorry.” Qin Shen kissed his eyelashes. “I don’t know what came over me just now.”
The usually steady, powerful Qin Shen, who always had everything under control, had become uncharacteristically vulnerable. “Let’s forget about this Rut. You can help me in the future instead.” He gazed deeply at Pei Yu.
The room fell silent, as if someone had hit the pause button. Qin Shen’s heavy exhaustion and guilt were palpable, and Pei Yu didn’t know how to feel.
After a long while, Pei Yu took hold of Qin Shen’s fingers and said very softly, “There’s no need… I already said I’d help you with this Rut. I’ll have to help you eventually anyway, so I might as well treat this as practice.”
If Qin Shen really lost control later and bullied him until he cried… then he’d just cry.
“But…” Qin Shen looked hesitant. “A single temporary mark made you cry.”
Pei Yu’s face turned red. “I wasn’t really crying! It was just a physiological reaction.”
“I’m sorry for biting you so hard that it hurt.” Qin Shen wrapped his arms around Pei Yu’s slender torso, resting his chin in the crook of the boy’s shoulder. His voice was thick with apology. “I wish I could bear that pain for you.”
“Uh…” Pei Yu looked embarrassed and explained sheepishly, “It… it wasn’t all pain. You don’t need to apologize.”
Qin Shen frowned. “Not all pain? I bit you until you bled.”
Pei Yu didn’t know how to explain it. He silently picked up his phone and typed: [It actually felt pretty good, it only hurt a little bit at the very beginning.]
“Really? Baby isn’t just pretending to make me feel better?” Qin Shen’s hand pressed down on the youth’s leg.
“I’m not lying to you,” Pei Yu mumbled. “Why would I lie about something like that?”
“I’m done messing with you. You’ve made it so I’ve barely written a word of my homework.”
Pei Yu was about to stand up, but his wrist was snatched back and pressed onto Qin Shen’s suit pants.
“…”
Pei Yu’s eyes suddenly widened, and he yanked his hand back. Overcome with an ocean of shame, his words came out in knots: “You… you are simply too much!”
“You can get like this just from biting a neck?!”
“Have some self-control, will you!”
Pei Yu’s cheeks were a dusty pink. Seeing this, a lazy laugh rippled from Qin Shen’s throat: “In front of baby, I have the least self-control of all.”
