After Entering a Contract Marriage with a Disabled Alpha - Chapter 40
Before the final physics evening self-study session ended.
Sun Hai stood up and announced, “We’ll have monthly exams right after the National Day holiday. Review what you need to review. Every exam in senior year is crucial; treat the monthly exam like the Gaokao, understood?”
A chorus of lazy voices echoed in the classroom. As soon as the bell rang, students immediately began packing their homework.
When Pei Yu and Qin Yiyang reached the school gate, Uncle Yang had already parked the car and was waiting. The night was busy with parents picking up their children, and some boarding students were buying midnight snacks outside the gate to take back to the dorms.
Pei Yu pulled open the car door and sat in the back, greeting softly, “Mr. Qin…”
“Mhm. Old Yang, let’s go.” Qin Shen took the backpack Pei Yu had taken off and set it aside. Their fingers brushed inadvertently, sparking a faint, subtle itch.
Pei Yu buckled his seatbelt. Seeing the gray shirt on Qin Shen, his face flushed with awkwardness. Then, his gaze drifted downward. He swallowed hard… Was Qin Shen really wearing the “personal” item he had worn? It was way too embarrassing.
“I’m wearing it.” “It’s on me.”
As if reading his mind, Qin Shen answered Pei Yu’s unasked question.
So perverted. Truly a pervert!!!
Pei Yu’s eyelids jumped, and he quickly turned his head to look out the window, though his ears—peeking through his fluffy black hair—were burning red. A hint of a smile flickered in the depths of Qin Shen’s eyes.
On the way back, Pei Yu was busy calculating his confession in his head. Qin Shen would be surprised, right?
Throughout the evening, Pei Yu was a bit distracted. Qin Shen assumed he had encountered some troubling matter at school; it was normal for students of this age to have their own worries. Qin Shen didn’t intend to pry too deeply, so he just placed some food in Pei Yu’s bowl: “Focus on eating.”
“Oh…” Pei Yu used his chopsticks to pick up the food, chewing slowly.
He had actually already eaten dinner, but after such a long evening self-study session, it was normal to feel hungry again by the time school let out. Once home, Auntie Zhou would always prepare a light midnight snack.
In the living room, Grandpa Qin was making idle conversation with his daughter and son-in-law. On the surface, the family atmosphere looked harmonious and gentle, but undercurrents were surging. Qin Shen simply chose not to burst the bubble of this facade.
After finishing the snack, Qin Shen returned to the study to continue his work.
Pei Yu walked out into the old mansion’s flower garden. Various colored flowers were in full bloom, decorating a corner of the estate beautifully. Previously, the garden didn’t have roses; most of the flowers Grandpa Qin liked were elegant and understated—various orchids, white camellias, fragrant jasmine, and the like. Roses were too flamboyant and didn’t quite match the overall decor of the old house.
However, after Pei Yu moved in, Qin Shen specifically instructed the servants to transplant many different varieties of roses: noble Champagne roses, pink-and-white Pink Avalanches, Lychee roses, warm jade-toned yellow roses, and the passionate red Corolla roses.
When they returned earlier, the night was already deep. Pei Yu hadn’t had a chance to see which flowers were in the garden. Standing by the garden fence once more, he turned on his phone’s flashlight, the bright beam illuminating the darkness.
After a quick scan, Pei Yu soon set his eyes on a beautiful red Corolla rose. In the night, that rose was in full, magnificent bloom, its crimson petals layered and glistening with dew. While red roses are common, he felt the red color was more passionate and better represented his feelings.
Pei Yu was extremely devoted by nature; once he set his mind on someone, he would offer 120% of his passion and sincerity. This specific rose happened to be right at the edge of the fence, making it easy to pick.
Pei Yu returned to the living room to ask Auntie Zhou, “Can I pick a rose from the garden?”
Auntie Zhou didn’t know why he wanted it, but since Qin Shen had planted them for him, she smiled and said, “Of course. Those roses were planted specifically for you by Young Master Qin.”
“Is that so…” Pei Yu’s face flushed with embarrassment.
Auntie Zhou grabbed a pair of sharp shears and accompanied him to the garden.
“Young Master Pei, is it this rose you’re pointing at?” “Yes, this one.” “Then I’ll cut it right now.” “Okay, go ahead.” “Hiss—” “Oh, did you accidentally prick your finger?” Auntie Zhou’s voice sounded panicked.
“It’s fine. It’s just a tiny prick. I’ll just head upstairs and put some iodine on it.”
The flower garden wasn’t far from the window of Qin Shen’s study. As an Alpha, Qin Shen’s senses were quite sharp. He vaguely heard Pei Yu’s voice—it wasn’t clear, but it sounded like he had pricked his hand.
Qin Shen’s brow furrowed, unable to set his mind at ease. He paused his work and maneuvered his wheelchair out of the study. Just as he reached the bedroom door, he saw Pei Yu walking toward him, his slender fingers clutching a red rose.
Upon seeing Qin Shen, Pei Yu instinctively put both hands behind his back, hiding the flower.
“Mr. Qin, are you finished with work?” Pei Yu asked softly.
Qin Shen didn’t answer. Instead, he asked, “Did you prick your hand?”
“Huh?” Pei Yu was confused as to how he knew.
“I vaguely heard your conversation with Auntie Zhou from the study,” Qin Shen explained.
“Ah… I see.” Pei Yu had intended to keep it a secret, but since he’d been heard, there was no point. He brought the rose forward; the thorns on the stem had already been trimmed. “It’s just a tiny wound, it doesn’t matter. I was going back to the room to put some medicine on it anyway.”
Qin Shen gave a soft “Mhm.” “Come inside. I’ll help you with the medicine.”
The wound was indeed tiny—just a speck of red on his fingertip. In the few minutes it took to get upstairs, the blood had already begun to clot. Qin Shen simply applied some iodine and held Pei Yu’s finger. “What made you want to pick a rose all of a sudden?”
“Uh.” Pei Yu froze for a moment, making up a random excuse: “I just thought it was pretty.”
“You picked it just because it’s pretty?” Qin Shen laughed. “Baby, isn’t that a bit ‘cruel to flowers’?”
“…” Pei Yu silently complained about Qin Shen’s lack of romantic sense. This rose was clearly the one he prepared for the confession. He had thought about buying a huge bouquet, but that would be too obvious, and the delivery address could only be the Qin house.
He looked at Qin Shen silently, his eyes inadvertently showing a bit of being misunderstood.
Qin Shen paused and quickly tried to make up for it: “I’m not blaming you. Those roses were planted for you in the first place. If you like them, pick them whenever you want. Just be careful next time; don’t hurt your hand. I’ll be worried.”
“Oh… understood,” Pei Yu answered softly. After Qin Shen put away the medical kit, he couldn’t help but mutter, “Qin Shen, you’re so cheesy.”
“Am I?” Qin Shen raised an eyebrow and rubbed Pei Yu’s head. “I really would be worried. That’s the truth, not cheesiness.”
Pei Yu’s cheeks felt warm. “I know,” he whispered.
Seeing Qin Shen turn to leave, Pei Yu grabbed his sleeve. Meeting Qin Shen’s dark eyes, Pei Yu licked his lips and said, “Can we watch a movie together tonight?”
“Tonight?” Qin Shen felt it was a bit sudden.
Pei Yu nodded. “Yes, tonight.”
Qin Shen thought for a moment. “Sure. But give me ten minutes to wrap up my work.”
Pei Yu smiled. “Okay, go ahead.”
“Where should we watch it?” Qin Shen asked. “The media room or the bedroom?”
Pei Yu had originally wanted to go to the media room, but the words changed as they left his mouth: “What about you? Where do you want to watch it?”
Qin Shen considered for a few seconds. “Let’s watch it together in bed. I want to hold my baby.”
Pei Yu: “…” And he says he isn’t cheesy.
After Qin Shen left, Pei Yu put the rose on the table and found an old English newspaper from a stack of study materials. Following a tutorial he found online, he folded the newspaper to use as wrapping for the rose. He then went downstairs to ask Auntie Zhou for some gauze and a piece of twine.
He cut the gauze into a square, wrapped it around the newspaper, and tied the twine into a symmetrical bow. The rose bouquet looked vintage and quite professional.
He placed the wrapped rose by the pillow and pulled out his tablet to log into WeChat. Once connected, he quickly downloaded the movie Qin Yiyang had recommended.
After doing all this, Qin Shen came over from the study, and Pei Yu helped him lie down in bed.
“I’ve already downloaded the movie on the tablet.” To create a romantic and quiet atmosphere, Pei Yu specifically turned off the overhead lights, leaving only the bedside lamp emitting a warm orange glow.
“Okay.” Qin Shen was still wearing the same gray shirt. The pheromones on the fabric had faded significantly, as if they had all been absorbed by his body.
“Do you want to change your clothes?” Pei Yu asked casually.
Qin Shen replied, “Do I need to?”
Pei Yu’s eyelids felt heavy with heat, and he looked away uncomfortably. “Seeing it makes me feel so embarrassed.”
“Alright then, go to the walk-in closet and pick out a shirt for me.” Qin Shen pressed down on his legs. “It’s not convenient for me.”
“Okay.” Pei Yu hopped off the bed and quickly returned with a black shirt.
Qin Shen wasn’t as shy as Pei Yu. He took off his clothes right in front of him and pulled on the black shirt. The contrast between his cool, pale skin and the pure black fabric was striking, making his sharp, deep features look even more strikingly “abstinent” and cold.
Pei Yu suddenly swallowed hard.
Observing this, the corners of Qin Shen’s mouth lifted in a tiny, satisfied curve. He was very pleased with Pei Yu’s reaction. Seeing that Qin Shen had only draped the shirt on without doing up the buttons, Pei Yu asked curiously, “Aren’t you going to button it?”
“It’s fine like this,” Qin Shen said flatly.
It wasn’t until Pei Yu lay back down in bed that he realized why Qin Shen hadn’t buttoned the shirt. Because… he was pulled firmly into Qin Shen’s embrace, his back pressed tight against Qin Shen’s bare skin. The man’s body heat radiated clearly through the thin fabric of his school uniform.
It was so hot that Pei Yu’s body went half-weak.
“…” “You have far too many wicked ideas.”
“Does my baby hate it when I’m like this?” Qin Shen’s lips brushed against the boy’s ear.
Pei Yu’s eyelashes trembled. “No… I don’t.”
“That’s good.” Qin Shen rubbed Pei Yu’s waist.
Pei Yu’s body shook; he grabbed Qin Shen’s wandering hand and quickly changed the subject. “Let’s start the movie.”
After clicking play, soothing music filled the room.
“What kind of movie is it?” Qin Shen asked in a low voice.
“A romantic and delicate love story,” Pei Yu replied.
Qin Shen nodded slightly. “Good. I rarely watch romance movies; I’m looking forward to it.”
There’s something you’ll be looking forward to even more in a bit! Pei Yu chuckled secretly to himself.
The movie began slowly. The style was very “fresh,” with warm, bright tones. The first few minutes set the scene: a sweet and cute Omega college student starting an internship at a company. His boss was a total hunk—handsome, tall, but cold and strict.
When the Omega made a rookie mistake, he was harshly criticized. A month of high pressure pushed the Omega to his limit. After another sharp rebuke, the Omega burst into tears. The boss was completely stunned, followed by a flurry of apologies and an invitation to dinner after work.
Seeing this, both Pei Yu and Qin Shen froze slightly, their brows furrowing in confusion. Pei Yu peeked at Qin Shen and found the man’s face full of question marks, just like his own. To avoid breaking the cozy atmosphere, neither of them spoke up. Perhaps they just didn’t understand the “emotional development” of this film yet.
The movie continued. After dinner, the Alpha invited the Omega to a bar for drinks. One glass followed another until they were both tipsy. Leaving the bar, they went straight to a hotel. Three minutes later, their clothes were being thrown onto the floor piece by piece.
The Alpha pinned the Omega onto the bed, his hand moving down past the Omega’s waist… ???
Qin Shen: “…” Pei Yu: “???”
Is something wrong with the pacing? Or is the plot a “one-night stand turns into sweet love” type of deal?
As Pei Yu’s mind raced, a high-pitched, distorted moan from the Omega rang out from the tablet.
Pei Yu was completely floored. To be honest, during his first presentation, he had made a similar sound.
The plot after that was like a runaway horse. Pei Yu had assumed that even if there was a “bed scene,” there would be some affectionate flirting followed by a fade-to-black. But then the Alpha boss unbuckled his belt, and it was about to show…
“Do you want to keep watching?” Qin Shen’s husky voice vibrated in his ear.
Pei Yu’s world went dark as a large hand blocked his vision. The movie played on, the audio becoming intense and frantic; the two leads were clearly doing the deed.
Pei Yu had never seen such a scene. He was so embarrassed he felt like he might faint. And since this seemed to be a “pivotal” plot point, the sounds didn’t stop…
“A ‘romantic and delicate’ love story?” Qin Shen looked down at the boy’s crimson ears. “Or did my baby want to watch this kind of flick with me all along and was just too shy to say it?”
“If that’s the case, I’ll move my hand away.”
“No! I didn’t!” Pei Yu’s face was scarlet as he grabbed Qin Shen’s wrist, stammering, “Turn it off! Quickly! Why is it still playing!”
Qin Shen reached over and shut it off. “It’s off.”
The humiliating audio finally vanished. Qin Shen moved his hand, and light returned to Pei Yu’s eyes.
“Explain the movie then?” Qin Shen asked with a laugh. “If you really want to watch things like that with me, you don’t need to be embarrassed or use excuses about ‘delicate romances’.”
“I didn’t!” Pei Yu wanted to cry. “Qin Yiyang gave this to me. I really thought it was just a love story.”
“Really?” Qin Shen arched an eyebrow.
“Really—ah~”
A soft hum escaped Pei Yu’s throat as Qin Shen nipped his earlobe without warning, grinding his tongue against it.
“Qin Shen, wait a second.” Pei Yu tried to move away. He barely managed to sit up a few centimeters before being pulled back. Qin Shen teased him, “Why are you running? I won’t eat you.”
“I wouldn’t be like the Alpha in the film…”
“Mmh, Qin Shen, stop talking!” Pei Yu’s face was beet-red. The atmosphere had shifted from cozy movie-watching to something extremely tense and scorching.
Fearing things would spiral out of control, Pei Yu used all his strength to push Qin Shen back. Panting, he said, “I have… I have something to tell you.”
He couldn’t let more distractions get in the way. The courage he had gathered for this confession wouldn’t survive another round of teasing.
Seeing how serious he was, Qin Shen dialed back his playfulness. “What does my baby want to tell me? If it’s not as important as kissing you, I’m going to tease you even more in a bit.”
“…”
Pei Yu whispered with burning eyes, “It’s more important than kissing.”
Qin Shen grew even more curious. “I’m listening.” The man leaned lazily against the headboard. His thin lips, having just been kissed, were a deeper, ambiguous red, adding a touch of seductive charm to his usually cold image.
“This rose is for you.” Pei Yu pulled the rose from beside the pillow.
Suddenly receiving a beautifully wrapped rose, Qin Shen’s eyes froze. He took the flower with slightly stiff movements. “So you picked this rose as a gift for me?”
Pei Yu’s face reddened. He lowered his head and said, “Mhm. I thought it looked beautiful, so I picked it for you.”
“Thank you for the gift, baby. I love it. I really love it.” Qin Shen pulled Pei Yu into his arms and tilted his head up to kiss the boy’s lips tenderly. “I love the rose. And I love you.”
Being kissed again, Pei Yu’s whole body heated up. He pushed against Qin Shen’s chest and said with a red face, “I’m not finished yet! Listen to me before you kiss me again.”
Qin Shen’s voice was husky. “Okay. I’m listening.”
Finally, the critical moment. Pei Yu took a deep breath and met Qin Shen’s ink-black eyes. He bit his lip, his light brown eyes filled with sincerity. “Qin Shen, listen carefully.”
“I—” “I—” “I…”
He kept stuttering. The confession he had rehearsed in his head was stuck. The more he tried, the more anxious he got. His fingertips curled together in tension, and a fine sweat broke out on his forehead and nose.
Qin Shen’s heart began to race. He realized what was happening. Pei Yu is going to confess to me. He suppressed the frantic thumping in his chest and waited quietly for Pei Yu to finish. He watched him with focused, deep affection—neither interrupting nor rushing him.
The more Qin Shen stared with those scorching eyes, the more nervous Pei Yu became. The fact that Qin Shen wasn’t rushing him actually made him more frantic. It felt like Qin Shen already knew what he was going to say, and he had to say it all out loud just to “pass the test.”
Finally, Pei Yu couldn’t take the massive wave of shyness. He deflated and buried himself in Qin Shen’s chest, rubbing his fluffy head against him and whimpering, “Why did you steal my lines just now?!”
“Now I can’t say it in front of you. You said you liked me so easily… it makes me look so stupid.”
Qin Shen looked down at Pei Yu, who was complaining and acting spoiled against his chest, and his heart melted. He let out a soft laugh and stroked Pei Yu’s head. “Baby, I’ve already received your feelings.”
“I like you so much. I like you even more now.” “Baby, I love you.”
Pei Yu’s face turned even redder. This wasn’t his confession at all; it was Qin Shen confessing again! With a face flushed with blood, he looked up and kissed Qin Shen’s lips. His light brown eyes sparkled like stars.
“Qin Shen, I gave you a rose. My pheromones are roses. You understand what I mean, right?!”
“I do. How could I not?” Qin Shen held the boy’s waist, gently pecking at his soft lips. “My baby is telling me, I give this rose to you, and I like you.”
“Mhm, you’re right!” Pei Yu said with a burning face. “That’s exactly what I meant.”
Looking at Pei Yu’s glowing face, Qin Shen could no longer suppress the surging emotions in his heart. He pulled him close, kissing and nipping at Pei Yu’s lips with fierce intensity. Pei Yu was kissed until his body went weak and his eyes grew misty.
Qin Shen’s kisses moved downward, lingering at his neck. Pei Yu let out a gasp as he rested his chin on Qin Shen’s shoulder.
“Qin Shen, I… I like you.”
Qin Shen paused. His voice was gravelly and thick with desire. He took a deep, lingering suck on the fading hickey near the boy’s collarbone, then looked up into Pei Yu’s eyes.
“Baby, say it again, okay?”
“I like you.” “Again.”
“I like you.”
“Who do you like?”
“Qin Shen.” “Pei Yu likes Qin Shen.”
