After Entering a Contract Marriage with a Disabled Alpha - Chapter 38.1
Back in the bedroom, Pei Yu was worried that Qin Shen might be upset by the unpleasant encounter earlier.
When Pei Yu was having conflicts with his own mother, Qin Shen had always been there to comfort him. Feelings are mutual; Pei Yu believed it was his turn to be the supportive one. This wasn’t just a matter of courtesy; he truly felt for the man.
Pei Yu could at least tell himself that Jiang He wasn’t his biological mother to explain her coldness. But Qin Shen was different. To most people, a betrayal by their own parents would be unbearable.
According to Qin Yiyang, when Qin Shen first discovered that his uncle was conspiring with his parents, he had actually given Qin Shifang a chance. He had waited for her to give him a private hint, or at least show some internal struggle or hesitation—that would have made it easier to take. But she didn’t. She acted perfectly normal, smiling at him, eating with him, and having afternoon tea together.
It was clear that Qin Shifang loved her husband more than her son. Lu Shan, the man who had married into the family, was ambitious but lacked real talent. Initially, Grandpa Qin had considered letting his sons, daughter, and Lu Shan manage the Qin Group together, hoping only that they would maintain the legacy.
However, as Qin Shen grew up, he displayed an extraordinary genius for business. Grandpa Qin changed his mind and focused all his efforts on grooming him. This sparked deep jealousy in the eldest and second sons, who envied Lu Shan’s luck in having a son like Qin Shen to pave his way.
But Lu Shan himself was unhappy when he heard the entire company would go to Qin Shen. Arrogant and high-minded, he refused to admit his own “incompetence” and had been plotting to turn the Qin Group into a “Lu Group.” Qin Shen’s brilliance had completely derailed his plans.
Later… well, things happened. Grandpa Qin often regretted his decision to make Qin Shen the sole heir. If it weren’t for that decision, his eldest son might not have turned to extremes, and Qin Shen’s legs might still be fine. He truly hadn’t expected that the harmony among his children was a facade—that their lack of interest in power was all an act.
“Are you okay?” Pei Yu asked softly, looking down at him.
Qin Shen stopped his wheelchair and turned around. He opened his arms and pulled the boy’s slender waist close, his black hair brushing against Pei Yu’s abdomen as he sought the warmth and softness of the person he loved. The soothing, sweet scent of roses enveloped his senses.
Qin Shen inhaled deeply, his long fingers gripping the soft flesh of Pei Yu’s waist. For a moment, he wanted to stay like this forever. He didn’t speak, but his actions said everything.
Pei Yu felt a pang of heartache. He reached out and stroked Qin Shen’s hair; it was much coarser than his own and felt a bit prickly. Echoing what Qin Shen had once told him, Pei Yu whispered gently, “It’s okay. If they don’t want you, I want you.”
A few seconds passed before the man’s deep voice answered, “Okay.”
“Do you want to lie down and rest for a bit?” Pei Yu rubbed his hair. “Did you talk to them for a long time?”
“Half an hour. It was exhausting,” Qin Shen said, his tone heavy with frustration. “They even said the watch you gave me was cheap.”
Pei Yu found it funny. Qin Shen sounded like a little kid reporting a grievance to him.
“Baby, don’t listen to them, and don’t be angry.” “I love your watch. I didn’t even take it off when I showered.”
A warm current wrapped around Pei Yu’s heart, like a feather brushing against it. Every cell in his body felt a sense of joy. “Good thing I bought a waterproof one then,” he teased gently.
Qin Shen half-closed his eyes and lay down on the bed, feeling relaxed.
“I’ll do some homework before I rest then.” Pei Yu opened his bag and pulled out tonight’s test paper. As he turned to go to the desk, his wrist was caught. Qin Shen, propped up against the pillows, easily pulled him back into his arms. He tightened his hold, as if trying to merge the boy into his very bones.
“Hug me for a little longer first.”
Qin Shen rested his chin in the crook of Pei Yu’s neck, nuzzling the fair, warm skin near his collarbone. The crisp scent of cedar and mint surrounded Pei Yu, subtly stirring his emotions. Being draped over Qin Shen, Pei Yu could clearly feel the well-defined abdominal muscles beneath the man’s thin summer shirt.
Pei Yu, usually so pure-minded, found his thoughts wandering, and his face grew hot. It had to be Qin Shen’s pheromones affecting him again. He had planned to confess today, but given the massive argument Qin Shen just had with his parents, a confession might be too much of an emotional whiplash. He decided to try again tomorrow night.
As he was lost in thought, the back of his neck was suddenly kneaded like a kitten’s.
“Qin Shen, don’t touch me there,” Pei Yu murmured softly, his eyes flashing with playful indignation. He was a young man, too! Always pinching the back of his neck to tease him—what was that about?
“Baby, I’m sad,” Qin Shen said. His warm breath hit Pei Yu’s shoulder, making his eyelashes tremble.
“Don’t be sad.” Pei Yu didn’t know how else to comfort him. After a pause, he asked, “Is there anything I can do for you?”
He thought he heard a faint chuckle, but it vanished so quickly he thought he’d imagined it. The next second, the world spun. When Pei Yu regained his senses, Qin Shen was hovering over him.
“You can do…” Qin Shen lowered his voice to a gravelly whisper against Pei Yu’s reddening ear, “just let me kiss you a few more times.”
Gazing into those ink-black eyes, Pei Yu froze, then his face turned as red as a steamed shrimp. “You… you were faking being sad!” He bit his lip. That laugh definitely hadn’t been an illusion.
Seeing his ruse exposed, Qin Shen didn’t panic. Instead, he pressed his forehead against Pei Yu’s with total confidence. “My baby is too smart. You’re getting harder to fool.”
“One second of sadness for them is enough. They don’t deserve to keep my spirits down any longer than that.”
With their faces pressed together at a distance of mere inches, their noses brushed, and their lips met. The world went silent, leaving only the sound of their shared breathing and heartbeats. His lips were gently captured, bitten, and explored, from the labial tubercle to the tip of his tongue. Every inch of skin was stained with the man’s intense cedar scent and mature hormones, blasting away the last of Pei Yu’s rationality.
Oxygen grew scarce. Pei Yu’s face was burning, his cheeks flushed, and his nose was filled only with Qin Shen’s scent. Perhaps because it was the first time he had been pinned down for such a deep kiss, the man’s large frame made him feel locked in, unable to escape.
When Qin Shen lowered his head, his long lashes partially veiled his eyes, and his cool aura slowly circulated around them. Their lips and teeth chased each other, and his wrist was kneaded firmly. Qin Shen’s passion was more intense and dominant than before, carrying a heavy sense of pressure and possessiveness.
Gradually, Pei Yu’s body went soft from the kiss. He instinctively wrapped his arms around Qin Shen’s neck, but this action only made Qin Shen dive deeper. The kiss became more forceful. Pei Yu panted for air, wanting to push him away but remembering that their relationship had changed. As an Omega about to confess, pushing away his Alpha seemed a bit heartless.
Pei Yu’s eyes were hazy with a light mist, and the lamplight in his eyes blurred. It wasn’t until Qin Shen began to suckle gently at his collarbone that he snapped back to reality. His clothes were a mess, and long fingers were meticulously stroking the thin shoulder blades on his back.
Pei Yu finally found his voice, which was trembling slightly. “Brother… I need to do my homework.”
Time seemed to stop for a moment. Even the scorching pheromones cooled down.
“Mhm. I won’t stop you from doing your homework,” Qin Shen said, his voice husky with restraint.
Pressed against him, Pei Yu could feel the man’s body temperature rising. Yet, this intense desire could be stopped instantly with just one word from him. That was Qin Shen’s doting love for Pei Yu. Qin Shen knew that for Pei Yu, “this” was still too early; he just wanted more contact. He didn’t know if it was the approaching rut or just his subconscious, but he was already addicted to the boy. He wanted to hold him constantly, feeling his warm body, the rose pheromones, and hearing those shaky cries of “Brother.”
The desire could no longer be hidden. Qin Shen channeled his surging longing into a final kiss, nipping and licking at Pei Yu’s collarbone. The thin skin was so sensitive it turned red at the slightest touch. Pei Yu, feeling the moisture and heat at his neck, felt like he had turned into a puddle of water.
Qin Shen had been up for a while now. He sat to the side, looking down at Pei Yu. The boy’s lips were a watery red, and his eyes were glazed over from the kiss. Pei Yu tried to sit up, but his limbs felt weak and heavy, as if he were soaking in a misty hot spring.
“Did I kiss you so hard you can’t even get up?” A smile played on Qin Shen’s lips.
“…” “You still dare to laugh at me!” Pei Yu’s voice was a mix of anger and soft, coquettish indignation that made Qin Shen’s heart melt.
A soft pillow flew through the air in a smooth arc; Qin Shen caught it easily with one hand. As his arm tightened, the muscle lines looked fluid and handsome. Pei Yu glared at him, shyly wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. His lips were numb and hot; he suspected the skin had been bitten.
He looked down at his neck. The hickey on the left had just faded, and now a “strawberry” had been planted on the right. “…” Time for another band-aid.
Qin Shen pulled the boy’s slender wrist and drew him into an embrace. Just as Pei Yu was about to struggle, he felt a gentle pat on his back. “Thank you, baby, for letting me kiss you for so long.” A hint of tenderness appeared in Qin Shen’s sharp eyes.
What was there to thank him for? Qin Shen was far too polite. “You’re welcome.”
Pei Yu, face flushing, whispered, “I really have to do my homework, or I’ll have to stay up all night.”
“Okay,” Qin Shen said. “Are you going to do it in the bedroom? If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask me.”
Today was English tutoring, and since Pei Yu’s English was stable, he didn’t need to go to the study for the lecture. “Mhm, right here.”
Pei Yu blinked and, with burning ears, reminded him: “Don’t kiss me so fiercely next time. I’m afraid you’ll actually kiss me to death.”
Qin Shen laughed, kissing the tip of the boy’s nose. “How could I bear to let you die? I know the difference between one kiss and a lifetime of kisses.”
“…” Pei Yu couldn’t take it. He mumbled, “Alright, alright, stop talking.”
“But baby, you’re a bit out of shape. You were actually breathless from a kiss. It seems I’ll have to keep training you next time.”
“You’re the one who’s out of shape!” Pei Yu shot him a look. He glanced down at Qin Shen’s trousers and a smile tugged at his lips. “I don’t think I’m the one struggling here. You react like this just from one kiss.”
The boy’s eyes were clever and mischievous, his cheeks were pink, and his lips were an alluring red. The light from the ceiling highlighted his exquisite features. Seeing the fresh hickey on that snowy neck, Qin Shen felt even more frustrated.
He leaned close to Pei Yu’s ear and whispered a threat: “Keep talking like that and don’t even think about doing your homework tonight.”
“…” The smile froze on Pei Yu’s face. He stood up sheepishly, grabbed his bag, and sat down at the desk a few meters away.
Qin Shen sat for a while until the heat in his chest cooled down. Once he felt normal, he messaged his caregiver to come up and help him bathe. A few minutes later, a tall Alpha caregiver knocked and entered. Pei Yu instinctively looked over and realized it wasn’t the same person he had seen before. The commonality was that they were both Alphas and looked quite strong.
Pei Yu gave a quick look and then threw himself back into his studies. The sound of splashing water came from the bathroom, and the frosted door was soon covered in white mist. After about fifteen minutes, the caregiver finished his task, said goodbye to Pei Yu, and left.
