After Entering a Contract Marriage with a Disabled Alpha - Chapter 28
Outside the car window, the streetlights and the shadows of trees blurred as they retreated rapidly. The wind fell still, and time seemed to stagnate.
Pei Yu’s heart felt like it was about to explode. His mind was a total blank, and all his senses were converging on a single point, surging with terrifying intensity.
“Qin…”
Pei Yu’s voice was soft and thin. He arched his back, murmuring tentatively. But he only managed a single syllable before Qin Shen took control.
“What did you call me? Say it again?” Qin Shen’s lips curved upward, his dark eyes brimming with a deliberate, knowing smile.
Qin Shen’s chest was broad, and his frame was tall. His arms were long as well; when he reached out, he easily pulled Pei Yu entirely into his embrace. The petite Pei Yu leaned against him, his face flushed a deep crimson, like a ripe tomato bursting with succulent red juice.
With the slightest movement of Qin Shen’s long fingers, Pei Yu’s spine went completely numb. How could he possibly find the strength to defy or resist?
“Ge… Gege (Big Brother).”
Pei Yu fell into a dense, frantic haze of confusion, finally remembering that Qin Shen preferred this more intimate nickname. He called out urgently, not knowing where to put his eyes or his hands—he was utterly helpless. Finally, he could only grasp Qin Shen’s wrists with both hands, his fingertips tightening slightly.
His fair, pink-tinged fingertips brushed against the strap of the man’s watch. Holding onto Qin Shen’s hand, he said intermittently, “Let go of me quickly.” His voice sounded as if it had been soaked in sugar water for a long time—sweet and melting.
“Baby wants me to let go?” Qin Shen’s voice was raspy and deep, the grainy texture of his tone grinding against the boy’s burning ear. There was a hint of amusement in his voice, as if Pei Yu were saying something incredibly naive.
How could Qin Shen not know the truest thoughts hidden in Pei Yu’s heart? That transparent attempt at rejection was nothing more than a mask used to cover his shyness.
He laughed softly and spoke: “But I feel like this part of you doesn’t mean that at all.”
Qin Shen’s Adam’s apple rolled. Looking down at the shamed and annoyed Pei Yu, a husky laugh escaped his throat; he found this incredibly entertaining.
“Am I right?” Qin Shen pressed, enjoying himself.
Pei Yu felt like he was going to faint. His breathing and heartbeat were a mess, and he had been dragged into a boundless, absurd heat with no exit in sight. How could a youth as young as him handle such a lethal situation? He gripped Qin Shen’s wrist, whimpering in a tiny voice for him to stop.
“Is that the truth?” Qin Shen’s tone was unhurried. He tilted his sharp jaw and took the opportunity to steal a kiss on the boy’s fluttering, long eyelashes. “Then I’ll listen to you.”
Qin Shen stopped moving, but his hand didn’t leave, as if he were waiting for Pei Yu’s next move.
Now it was Pei Yu’s turn to feel an extreme, unbearable restlessness. He had only said it casually; why did Qin Shen actually stop?
He was being bullied again. Pei Yu bit his lip, a wave of grievance welling up in his heart.
“Say it again, baby. Do you like it?” Qin Shen allowed the wicked side of his personality to show, teasing the heat-stricken Pei Yu like one would tease a small child.
“I like it…” Pei Yu squeezed his legs together in shame.
“Like me?” A thick sense of possessiveness swirled in Qin Shen’s eyes. He licked his lips, and his fingers moved again.
Qin Shen loved this feeling—this version of Pei Yu was for his eyes only; no one else could catch even a glimpse. His blood was practically boiling, and every one of his billions of cells was filled with an addictive excitement and euphoria.
“N-no, I don’t like you,” Pei Yu bit his lip hard, refusing to admit defeat.
“You don’t like me, yet you turn into this?” Qin Shen leaned close to Pei Yu’s ear, teasing, “Remember, we’re still in the car.”
Pei Yu froze, his eyes wide. He was completely speechless; he couldn’t force out another word. At no moment had he felt the texture of Qin Shen’s callused fingertips and broad palms more clearly than now. Every single nerve ending was perceiving him.
“Wuu… wuu.”
Pei Yu’s face was beet red. He whispered his accusation: “You said earlier you wouldn’t laugh at me. But now…” He blinked, the tears pooling in his eyes threatening to fall, trembling on his lashes. “You’re bullying me.”
Qin Shen found him hilarious and coaxed him softly, “How am I bullying you? I’m clearly comforting you. This isn’t laughing at you; this is flirting.”
“Can baby not tell…?” Qin Shen chuckled.
Pei Yu thought about it and turned his head to look at Qin Shen. A soft tenderness bloomed within the man’s handsome, sharp features. The curve of his lips was obvious; the smile in Qin Shen’s eyes truly wasn’t the insulting kind.
“Okay then.”
Pei Yu believed him. Just as he was about to say more, all his words were swallowed back into his throat. The rich, clear scent of roses suddenly intensified, filling the small, enclosed space.
In a corner where no one else was watching, Pei Yu leaned limply against Qin Shen’s warm chest. Qin Shen rubbed his fingertips together, silently waiting for Pei Yu to recover his strength. He watched the boy leaning against him with a relaxed neck and shoulders.
Pei Yu’s fair face was flushed crimson; his soft lips were caught between his teeth from tension, leaving faint marks. Beads of sweat broke out on his neck, and he breathed in shallow gasps, like a fish out of water for too long. That cool, exquisite face was now stained with the vivid hue of a rose.
Qin Shen was hopelessly in love.
“Do you feel alright?” Qin Shen lowered his head to kiss the boy’s soft, black hair.
Pei Yu didn’t want to talk, but he knew he couldn’t hide. “Mm…”
“You got my suit dirty,” Qin Shen stated flatly.
Pei Yu curled his fingertips in shame. “…”
“I’ll buy you a new one.”
Qin Shen smiled. “But I’d rather baby pay me back by giving yourself to me.”
Pei Yu’s ears heated up as he muttered, “In your dreams.”
Qin Shen laughed again. Inhaling the dense rose pheromones, he said lazily, “What a waste of all these pheromones. They could have treated my condition.”
Pei Yu’s eyes widened. He was mortified. Raising his face—which was covered in fine sweat—he said, “What are you talking about? You’re a pervert.”
Qin Shen didn’t feel like anything he said was wrong. “I’m just stating facts.” He slowly placed his hand on the charcoal-gray suit, rubbing the fabric. This jacket likely couldn’t be worn again. But keeping it as a memento would be fine.
Qin Shen himself was still in discomfort, wondering how to righteously and grandly suggest that Pei Yu help him out as well. He imagined Pei Yu’s reaction in his head—no doubt he’d blush and reject him out of shyness, citing a lack of experience. Qin Shen thought: If that happens, I’ll just say, ‘Baby, I’ll teach you.’
The thought of Pei Yu’s hand touching him… Qin Shen’s eyes filled with an indescribable excitement and anticipation.
While Qin Shen was hesitating, wondering how to ask without being too forward, Pei Yu—lying in his arms—realized something was wrong. A flash of shock crossed his eyes.
How could it happen again so soon?!
“Qin… Qin Shen,” Pei Yu called out in a panic, his light brown eyes full of confusion.
Pei Yu truly wasn’t the type of person with high demands. He thought the first time was just the influence of the Omega heat. But now, this was clearly abnormal. It was as if he couldn’t get enough, it was completely illogical. He pulled on Qin Shen’s shirt sleeve, asking him to check if something was wrong.
Qin Shen also knit his brows. Logically, the interval really shouldn’t be this short. Could it be because Pei Yu differentiated as an Omega too late, causing a physical issue? Or was it the influence of being with a 100% compatible partner?
“Is it still uncomfortable?” Qin Shen asked softly.
Pei Yu whimpered and nodded dejectedly. “Is there something wrong with my body?” He lifted his eyes, the thin mist within them yet to dissipate. “It’s happening again.”
The situation was urgent and clearly defied common sense. Even as an Alpha, it was impossible to be this persistent. Qin Shen’s brow furrowed tightly as he reviewed the clues.
Pei Yu’s heat had come suddenly. According to Pei Yu, it wasn’t supposed to start for another two days. The suppressor had been useless, requiring him to make a temporary mark. And even after the mark, there was a reaction in the car.
…Of course, Pei Yu was different from him. He already liked Pei Yu, so having a reaction was normal. Having just made a temporary mark, an Alpha naturally has a strong sense of possessiveness and control over the Omega they’ve marked. Especially since they were sitting so close together.
But Pei Yu wasn’t like him; he was still “evaluating” Qin Shen. It was indeed suspicious.
Qin Shen thought quickly; they had to go to the hospital for a check-up. He opened the screen in the back seat and messaged Old Yang to change the route to the nearest top-tier hospital.
Seconds after sending the command, the phone in Pei Yu’s pocket rang—likely Qin Yiyang asking what was happening because he didn’t understand the sudden detour.
“Let’s go to the hospital. There’s likely something wrong with your body,” Qin Shen said.
Pei Yu blinked blankly. “Ah!”
Go to the hospital like this??
He stole a glance at Qin Shen. In this emergency, Qin Shen had mostly regained his composure, his silhouette less prominent.
“But, how can I go to the hospital like this?” Pei Yu was so ashamed he was close to tears. The seat was a mess.
Qin Shen glanced at the address and time synchronized on the screen. Because of the detour, it would take over twenty minutes to reach the nearest hospital. He held Pei Yu and coaxed him gently, “It’s fine. We’ll tie my jacket around your waist later to cover it up.”
Wuu wuu. But if the driver and Qin Yiyang asked why they were going to the hospital, he would be mortified.
“Baby, avoiding the doctor won’t help your illness,” Qin Shen said seriously.
“…”
“I want to cry again,” Pei Yu said, covering his face, not knowing how to respond.
Qin Shen opened a bottle of mineral water from the back seat, took out a pile of tissues, and quickly cleaned up the mess, wiping the traces off the charcoal-gray jacket as well. It took him only three minutes.
Seeing Qin Shen so calm, Pei Yu felt like he wasn’t composed enough. If the body was sick, you go to the hospital—there was indeed nothing to be ashamed of.
Pei Yu looked at the navigation; there were still eighteen minutes until they reached the hospital. But he was suffering to death again. He pouted, wondering if he could hold out.
“Does it hurt?” Qin Shen asked, holding him, his eyes lowered.
Pei Yu nodded in shame. “It hurts… why am I like this?”
“We won’t know until the hospital checks.” Qin Shen lightly patted Pei Yu’s back. “It’s okay; we’ll let the doctor take a look.”
Pei Yu nodded awkwardly, then glanced at the distance and time again. “Why is time moving so slowly? Still fifteen minutes…”
Qin Shen paused. Seeing Pei Yu’s red, strained face, he said after some hesitation, “How about I help you relieve it again?” He added as an explanation, “If we leave it alone, it might cause physical harm.”
“…” Pei Yu’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“There’s only fifteen minutes left until the hospital…” Pei Yu murmured, nearly dying of shame and anger. He squeezed the words out from his throat: “Do you look down on me?!”
Qin Shen raised his hand and slowly reached out. Parting his thin lips, he coaxed him with an incredibly gentle voice: “Baby, you’ve misunderstood. I don’t look down on you at all.”
“On the contrary, you should have confidence in me.”
“Five minutes is all it takes,” Qin Shen said deeply. “I promise.”
With that, Qin Shen began to move again.
“…”
Pei Yu was practically led along by Qin Shen. Of course, it couldn’t be ruled out that he truly did need Qin Shen’s help. It was mostly a case of reluctant consent.
Qin Shen’s long fingers were cold and noble, his fingertips rubbing slowly and gently. The two were still very close, and the scent on Qin Shen wrapped around Pei Yu once more. The crisp cedar carried a chill, and the mint was fresh, with a hint of bitterness.
With just a few movements, Pei Yu couldn’t take it; his scalp went numb. He instinctively closed his eyes, feeling everything Qin Shen brought him. He had wanted to resist, to hold out and prove himself, but how could he win against the long-single Qin Shen?
Qin Shen kept his eyes lowered, taking in every change in Pei Yu’s repressed expression.
“Heh, finished.” Qin Shen let out a soft laugh.
Pei Yu froze. He opened his eyes blankly and didn’t come to his senses for a long time. Qin Shen’s lips curved into a smile as he kissed the boy’s soft, fluffy hair. He didn’t tease Pei Yu further; instead, he hurried to clean up, preparing for when they got out of the car.
He rolled down the window. The cool, slightly humid summer night wind poured in, dispersing the rich, heavy fragrance of roses.
Pei Yu lay motionless, watching Qin Shen busy himself, feeling a bit embarrassed. He had become a bit too lazy. He slowly shifted off Qin Shen’s lap and looked up, seeing the time on the navigation once more.
Since the beginning less than five minutes had passed.
“…”
Wuu, this is too embarrassing, ahhh!
