After Entering a Contract Marriage with a Disabled Alpha - Chapter 26.2
Qin Shen raised an eyebrow. “Then do you want to come closer? I can’t smell much from that far away.”
Pei Yu blinked, feeling a bit shy. Qin Shen had drunk quite a bit of wine earlier, and his pheromones were inadvertently mixed with the mellow scent of red wine. He leaned lazily against the backrest, his dark eyes shimmering with a faint smile.
The yellow streetlights flashed past outside, reflecting in the man’s stern features. A slightly tipsy Qin Shen looked relaxed. The hazy, cool moonlight spilled over his profile; in the play of light and shadow, his sharp features were softened by the warm glow.
Qin Shen crooked a finger, loosened the top two buttons of his shirt, and slowly exhaled a breath of alcohol. Seeing Pei Yu still in a daze, he suddenly laughed softly. The corners of his eyes, reddened by the wine, turned upward, and his thin lips curled into a sharp arc.
“Come closer,” Qin Shen coaxed gently, his voice low and warm.
Under the man’s affectionate gaze, Pei Yu’s heart raced out of control, and the tips of his ears began to burn. “Oh…” he murmured, moving over slowly.
Second by second, Qin Shen’s long-lashed eyes remained fixed on him, never looking away. As soon as Pei Yu moved over, feeling nervous, a hand suddenly pressed against his lower back. He instinctively tried to straighten up, but the soft flesh of his waist was given a gentle squeeze.
“What are you doing?” Pei Yu’s spine felt like a current had run through it. His voice softened involuntarily; even through two layers of clothing, he could feel the scorching temperature of the man’s fingertips.
“Doing something I like.” Qin Shen turned slightly, his slender fingers moving.
Pei Yu’s ears heated up. He reached out to pull the hand away from his waist. “No, we agreed it was just for you to smell the pheromones.”
Qin Shen turned a deaf ear, ignoring Pei Yu’s words. Instead, he tightened his arm, pulling Pei Yu even closer. “I can only smell it if you’re close.” He looked down at the boy’s fair, flushing cheeks, his gaze tender.
Pei Yu’s shoulder was mostly pressed against Qin Shen’s body. His ears were red, and he instinctively tried to struggle away.
“If you move again, I’ll have to use force,” Qin Shen’s voice was low and husky, carrying an ambiguous sense of possessiveness.
Pei Yu’s eyes widened. He looked at Qin Shen and said dryly, “Y-you’re drunk, aren’t you?”
“Just assume I’m drunk then.” Qin Shen narrowed his eyes. The arm at the boy’s waist moved up, his broad palm cupping the boy’s shoulder before pulling him closer to himself. “I’m going to take advantage of the alcohol to be a bully now,” Qin Shen rasped.
They were extremely close. When Qin Shen spoke, his warm breath fell entirely on Pei Yu’s neck, sending a tingly, numbing itch down the side of his throat. Pei Yu shrunk his neck, his face turning even redder.
Just as he was about to ask what kind of “bullying” Qin Shen meant, something firm leaned against his shoulder. Qin Shen tilted his head, resting his entire sharp jawline on one side of the boy’s shoulder. His high-bridged nose brushed against Pei Yu’s cheek intentionally or otherwise. Pei Yu instinctively tried to hide, but he was held even tighter.
“Just leaning. Don’t be afraid,” Qin Shen said lazily. At this distance, he could clearly smell the rose fragrance.
“It’s… it’s a bit too close.” Pei Yu’s eyelashes trembled.
“I haven’t even kissed you. Does this count as close?” Qin Shen’s tone was borderline rogue. He looked down at the slightly protruding gland on the boy’s nape. The closer he got, the more he felt the floral scent hidden under the patch was incredibly rich.
“Close…” Pei Yu’s face turned a deep red. “You’re so close to my neck.”
Subconsciously, Pei Yu felt a sense of danger, as if he were being stalked. The man’s high nose rubbed against his cheek every now and then, it was very itchy. The hand on his shoulder was also very firm.
“Baby, I’m not going to bite you.” Qin Shen’s eyes crinkled with a sharp, tipsy smile. “Just leaning.”
Pei Yu’s heart softened. With a flushed face, he asked, “R-really?”
The sight of that fair-and-pink face was fully captured; even the boy’s earlobes were red. Qin Shen found Pei Yu’s reaction of turning red at a single touch to be overwhelmingly cute.
“Of course. If you don’t let me bite, I definitely won’t,” Qin Shen coaxed warmly.
Pei Yu felt slightly relieved. As long as Qin Shen didn’t bite him, he didn’t have much to worry about. “Lean then, as long as you don’t bite my neck,” Pei Yu said, blinking.
“And what if one day you proactively ask me to bite?” Qin Shen let out a low chuckle.
Pei Yu’s eyes widened instantly. “How is that possible?” He shook his head with a burning face. “That would never happen.”
“How could it be impossible? If your heat comes…” Qin Shen said.
“Then… then I’ll just get a shot,” Pei Yu stammered.
Qin Shen’s lips curled. “Then I’ll work hard so that you’ll be the one asking to be bitten in the future.”
Pei Yu’s face turned a shameful red. “We’ll see. No need to be in such a rush.”
Qin Shen laughed softly, his ink-dark eyes full of obsession and fervor. He flared his nostrils, taking another whiff of the clear rose scent. “Mm. Then we’ll take it slow.”
The car drove through the night. Gradually, Pei Yu’s initial tension began to relax.
…Qin Shen seemed to have fallen asleep.
Pei Yu looked sideways, stealing a glance at the sleeping Qin Shen. The yellow light cast a faint shadow of long eyelashes under the man’s eyes. Two buttons of his white shirt were undone; from Pei Yu’s perspective, he could clearly see the man’s sharp collarbones and distinct chest muscles.
Scorching breaths fell against his neck, and Pei Yu’s heart began to beat in rhythm with them. The city center was far from the old estate. Pei Yu spent his time looking at the night sky outside and then back at Qin Shen. In a daze, he felt Qin Shen looked better than the night scenery.
Leaning against him quietly like this felt quite nice.
So fragrant…
Pei Yu flared his nostrils slightly, finding that the crisp scent of cedar mixed with mint on Qin Shen was becoming more intense. Suddenly, a wave of heat rose from within his body, spreading through his blood to his limbs. The thin skin on the back of his neck began to burn.
Pei Yu shook his head, trying to stay clear-headed, but found he couldn’t do it. The sudden heat steamed the moisture from his body, and his throat grew increasingly parched. With every breath, he could taste the pheromones that were so incredibly attractive to him.
Pei Yu’s face turned a lingering red. Unlike his usual shyness, this flush seemed to seep from deep within his skin, accompanied by a cloyingly sweet rose fragrance.
Is it the second heat of the month starting? Pei Yu thought muzzily.
With a burning face and his body going weak, he wanted to wake Qin Shen to ask for help with a suppressor shot. Pei Yu moved his leg ever so slightly.
Suddenly, he froze. He swallowed, looking down to confirm and his light brown pupils contracted sharply.
He… actually turned out like this in front of Qin Shen? How was it possible? And this was in the car…? It was even more ridiculous than the dream where Qin Shen kissed him.
And even during his second differentiation, only his body had felt hot. Did he have feelings for Qin Shen that he didn’t even know about?!
Pei Yu’s ears turned red with shame. The heat rose from his body; his eyelashes trembled, and he didn’t dare move an inch. If Qin Shen discovered his state, wouldn’t it be another case of “social death”?
Pei Yu tried to control the effects of the heat, searching around the seat for a suppressor. He couldn’t find one…
What made him even more desperate was that, besides his neck getting hotter, he was also in pain.
Even if he harbored a few unconventional thoughts about Qin Shen, it shouldn’t have escalated to this extent in the car. Could it really be solely because of the heat?
Pei Yu was suffering immensely. Finally unable to hold it in, he called out in a soft, weak voice, “Qin… Qin Shen…”
Inside the carriage, the delicate scent of roses grew increasingly dense, as if a sudden downpour of petals was fluttering down around them. The boy’s low murmur and the intoxicating fragrance quickly roused Qin Shen from his light sleep.
When Qin Shen opened his eyes, he was momentarily stunned. The boy leaning against him had damp eyelashes, and a large flush—resembling an allergic reaction—had spread across his face and neck.
“Your heat is here?” Qin Shen reacted instantly. He straightened his back and threw a protective arm around Pei Yu.
The moment Qin Shen drew closer, the restraint Pei Yu had been fighting so hard to maintain shattered. He quickly untied the charcoal-gray jacket from his waist, letting it drape over his lap to prevent Qin Shen from noticing his physical state.
“Mm…” Pei Yu sniffled, his voice softening even further, carrying a faint hint of a sob. “The back of my neck… it’s so hot.” He raised a hand to peel back a corner of the scent patch.
In that brief instant, the fragrance of roses flooded the car, the rich aroma drifting out into the night breeze. Qin Shen reacted immediately, releasing his Alpha pheromones. The cold, crisp scent quickly built an airtight wall around them, preventing the boy’s cloyingly sweet information from leaking further.
Qin Shen had thought about marking Pei Yu many times; even earlier in the car, he had teased him about biting him one day. But now that the moment was actually here, his desire to mark him was suppressed by a wave of overwhelming heartache.
His breathing quickened, and his blood boiled at the scent of roses. Every strand of that fragrance goaded him to mark, to occupy, to invade. Yet, the sincere and deep affection in his heart allowed him to restrain the most primal Alpha madness.
Qin Shen took several deep breaths and quickly retrieved the emergency suppressor kept in the car. The suppressor Pei Yu couldn’t find earlier was hidden in a secret compartment.
“Wuu…” Pei Yu was in agony, shifting his legs restlessly, his neck burning. Before long, a thin mist gathered in his eyes. He looked at Qin Shen with wet eyes, clutching the man’s shirt, and whispered, “Mr. Qin… so hot.”
The boy’s snowy skin was stained with broad patches of crimson.
Qin Shen frowned, quickly tearing open the suppressor’s packaging. The sharp needle shimmered with a cold light in the dim environment.
“Be good, just a little longer. It won’t hurt soon,” Qin Shen said through gritted teeth, the veins on the side of his neck bulging from the effort of self-control.
Pei Yu looked dizzily at the liquid in the syringe. It was a drug developed for most Omegas that mimicked Alpha pheromones to quickly and effectively suppress the heat. For some reason, Pei Yu didn’t want it at all.
“No… don’t want that,” Pei Yu whimpered softly. He pushed the suppressor away and buried his face in Qin Shen’s chest, seeking the exhilarating yet calming coldness of cedar. He pleaded in a small voice, “W-want Mr. Qin to bite.”
Qin Shen froze, staring at the fluffy head buried in his arms, utterly shocked. Pei Yu’s behavior was very strange. Even during a heat, Pei Yu was usually shy and bashful; his first instinct should have been the suppressor, not asking to be bitten.
“Baby, be good. I can’t bite you.” “You’ll feel better soon after the shot. Just endure it.”
Pei Yu felt incredibly wronged. His mind was muddled, and he couldn’t understand why the usually doting Mr. Qin wasn’t listening to him now. He had already gathered his courage to beg for a bite, for a temporary mark.
“No… I won’t—” “Ugh…”
A sudden needle-prick of pain came from his arm. Pei Yu looked at the needle that had pierced him and began to cry in earnest, crystal tears dripping onto Qin Shen’s jacket. The medicine was injected bit by bit into his bloodstream.
Qin Shen tried his best to ignore the rose fragrance, not even daring to look at Pei Yu, keeping his eyes fixed on the syringe instead. Finally, the injection was finished. He looked up slightly to find Pei Yu with red eyes and eyelashes clumped together from moisture.
“I told you… I didn’t want the suppressor.” Pei Yu pouted, clutching his arm, his wet eyes accusing Qin Shen of his forceful methods.
A pang of bitterness rose in Qin Shen’s heart. He reached up and wiped away the tears under the boy’s eyes with his thumb. “I want to bite you, but I can’t do it while you’re in a daze from your heat. It wouldn’t be right.”
Pei Yu blinked and gave a low “oh,” muttering, “If you don’t bite now, don’t regret it later.”
Qin Shen, who was already starting to regret it: “…”
Time passed slowly. Beneath the cover of the charcoal-gray jacket, the pain persisted, but Pei Yu bit his lip and stayed silent. The gland on the back of his neck was swollen and burning; despite the suppressor, it wasn’t working at all.
Driven by the heat, Pei Yu craved proximity to Qin Shen. He grabbed the man’s arm, lowered his head to show him the back of his neck, and whispered, “Wuu… it still hurts so much.”
Qin Shen glanced at the boy’s nape. The scent patch had been halfway torn off by Pei Yu, the edges curling up and revealing beads of fine, glistening sweat. Even that sweat carried a dense floral fragrance that filled Qin Shen with longing and obsession.
His Adam’s apple bobbed. After steadying his mind, he felt a sense of confusion. “Why hasn’t it subsided?”
Pei Yu remained nestled in Qin Shen’s arms, turning his head in a futile attempt to see his own burning neck. “Bite… Mr. Qin, just bite me…” Pei Yu’s light brown eyes were shimmering, and his voice was as soft as a kitten’s. “It really hurts. It’s so hot.”
Qin Shen was perplexed. Logically, the suppressor should have worked, just as it did during the second differentiation. But there was no time for deeper thought; Pei Yu, in his discomfort, kept rubbing his head against the man’s chest.
“Bite… wuu-wuu… if you won’t bite me, I’ll go find someone else,” Pei Yu threatened in his desperation.
Qin Shen paused, his gaze instantly becoming dangerous. He rasped, “Find someone else?”
Pei Yu shrunk his neck, frightened by the cold tone, but Qin Shen still wouldn’t bite, and the suppressor was useless. The heat inside him was growing more intense; if this continued, he felt he would burn up.
“If you don’t bite me… I’ll just have to find another A—” Pei Yu didn’t get the last ‘A’ out.
His slender waist was gripped by Qin Shen’s arms and easily lifted. By the time Pei Yu realized what was happening, he was facing away from Qin Shen, sitting on the man’s lap. The jacket covering his legs nearly slipped, and Pei Yu hurriedly pulled it back.
“I’ll bite you then.” Qin Shen’s Adam’s apple rolled. He reached up and tore away the remaining half of the patch.
His callused, rough thumb pressed against the boy’s snowy neck. Pei Yu couldn’t help but tilt his head back and let out a small cry.
“Gently… please be gentle,” Pei Yu whimpered, pleading in a soft voice.
“Didn’t you ask me to bite? You can’t even handle a thumb pressing down, and teeth are much fiercer than this.”
Qin Shen lowered his head. He gave the white skin of Pei Yu’s neck an incredibly gentle kiss. As the thin lips brushed his nape, Pei Yu couldn’t help but shiver, his whole body trembling. Worst of all, he almost lost his composure entirely.
Pei Yu gripped the jacket tightly. As Qin Shen’s high nose rubbed against the back of his neck, the sensation only intensified his discomfort. “Wuu… don’t bully me.” Pei Yu took shallow, quick breaths.
A thin layer of sweat broke out on his neck, dampening his shirt collar. His black bangs were also wet, clinging to his face. After another minute, his heat was still not under control.
Seeing Pei Yu’s face and neck growing redder, the flush spreading toward the rest of his body, Qin Shen knit his brows. He realized he couldn’t delay any longer.
“I’ll give you a temporary mark first. If that doesn’t control it, we’re going to the hospital.”
Pei Yu nodded. He felt the warm, soft lips press against the back of his neck. He couldn’t help but cry out again, “Mr. Qin… bite gently.”
Then, his wrist was squeezed firmly.
Qin Shen’s voice was deep: “Call me ‘Gege’ (Brother).”
“Call me ‘Gege’ and I’ll be gentle. Call me ‘Mr. Qin,’ and I won’t be able to.”
Pei Yu pouted piteously, his soft hair swaying. With a burning face, he called out, “Gege… I’m afraid of the pain.”
Qin Shen’s breath hitched. His lips crushed against the boy’s white neck, and he caught a faint taste of the rose fragrance’s sweetness. He swallowed hard; even he was on the verge of being ignited. His gaze darkened, and he became serious.
He opened his mouth, and sharp teeth pierced the skin.
The moment his neck was captured, Pei Yu tilted his head back sharply and let out a gasp. A tingly, numbing sting spread across his nape, followed immediately by a massive influx of crisp, minty, snow-like pheromones. Qin Shen’s information flowed strand by strand into his blood, soothing the restless heat throughout his body.
Finally tasting the long-awaited fragrance, Qin Shen’s eyes grew deep and dark. His sharp teeth sank into the thin skin. Smelling the cloying wild rose scent, his Adam’s apple bobbed, and he began to bite and gnaw with increasing intensity. He wanted to leave his tooth marks on the Omega’s neck forever.
“It hurts…”
Pei Yu realized Qin Shen was biting harder and harder, as if he wanted to taste everything all at once. A dense pain spread across his neck, but as time passed, that pain was replaced by the soothing relief of the Alpha’s pheromones.
Pei Yu felt it was enough, but he realized Qin Shen had no intention of letting go. He whimpered, “Qin… Mr. Qin, it’s enough.”
Pei Yu tried to break free from the hold, but his strength was no match for Qin Shen’s. He could only silently endure the temporary marking. As the pheromones increased, a current seemed to run up Pei Yu’s spine, and crystal tears slid from the corners of his reddened eyes. His fingertips curled; he felt an indescribable sensation, like being soaked in a perfectly tempered hot spring.
Suddenly noticing that the change he was trying so hard to hide had increased rather than diminished, Pei Yu snapped back to reality. He instinctively tugged at the jacket and stammered for Qin Shen to let go.
Qin Shen’s eyes were a dark red. Using every ounce of his willpower, he slowly retracted his teeth. His breathing was heavy. After hiding his teeth, his soft tongue gently licked and tasted the boy’s nape, his gaze burning and hot.
Qin Shen held him, his voice low and raspy: “Baby, you smell so good.”
Pei Yu felt as if his spine was about to melt from the heat.
“Let me hold you a little longer.” Qin Shen’s voice was incredibly husky, as if he were restraining something with great effort.
Just as Pei Yu was about to speak, a sudden wetness touched the area behind his ear. His eyes widened, and his breath hitched.
Because Qin Shen was licking his ear.
