After Entering a Contract Marriage with a Disabled Alpha - Chapter 24.1
The bedroom had been kept cool with air conditioning all night.
In the middle of the night, while deep in sleep, Pei Yu rolled back into Qin Shen’s arms. He even hooked a leg over Qin Shen, instinctively seeking out the heat source and the pheromones that exerted such a powerful pull on him, snuggling close once again.
Qin Shen had lived a life of abstinence for years. Having finally met someone he liked, how could his heart remain untroubled? He had spent almost the entire night in a state of light sleep. Watching Pei Yu, who was sleeping as soundly as a little piglet, he couldn’t help but marvel at how big the boy’s heart was.
Does he really trust me this much?
Pei Yu truly underestimated the sense of unity brought by a 100% compatibility rating and the sheer allure an Omega held for an Alpha. An Omega as fragile and defenseless as him could be marked so easily.
Qin Shen ground his teeth slightly. He reached out to turn on the bedside lamp, his gaze wantonly tracing every inch of Pei Yu. Only when Pei Yu was asleep could Qin Shen allow himself to study him so unreservedly and boldly.
The boy’s collar was slightly open, revealing delicate collarbones and a glimpse of a snowy shoulder. His lips were soft, moist, and carried a trace of sweetness; his small face looked incredibly obedient with his lashes closed. And…
The hand Qin Shen had tucked under the nape of Pei Yu’s neck—if he so much as curled a knuckle, he could touch the boy’s most sensitive and vulnerable gland. Strands of rose fragrance muddled Qin Shen’s mind.
“What would happen if I bit your lip right now?” Qin Shen murmured. “Or if I tore off the scent patch and made a temporary mark… would you cry?”
In the quiet of the night, Pei Yu could not answer. He was like an ignorant little lamb, having no idea how terrifying the “big bad wolf” who could devour him whole truly was.
Qin Shen moved closer. He was mere millimeters away from kissing those sweet, soft lips. Just then, Pei Yu let out a hazy mumble, his lips parting slightly to reveal pearly white teeth and the tip of a pale pink tongue.
“Qin… Mr. Qin…”
The warm breath exhaled by the boy brushed against the tip of Qin Shen’s nose. He stopped, looking at the boy’s flawless face from point-blank range, before finally clenching his fist and lying back down.
“Fine. You win.”
Qin Shen suppressed the urge to steal a kiss, instead opting to rub the boy’s lips with his fingers. The soft lips changed shape under his touch, and Pei Yu inadvertently sucked on the tip of his finger. The pale pink lips were played with until they blurred into a lingering watery red, looking exactly as if they had been kissed that way.
Qin Shen had only intended to touch him, but the longing he had forcibly extinguished began to surge again. After a long while, he exhaled slowly, finally willing to withdraw his finger. Fast asleep, Pei Yu knew nothing of this; he simply smacked his lips and fell into a deeper slumber.
Qin Shen looked at his damp fingertip. A few seconds later, like a true “pervert,” he couldn’t control himself and smelled it. He really had become the “big pervert” Pei Yu called him.
Saliva contained pheromones—sweet but not cloying, mixed with the elegant scent of roses. Under the lamp, Qin Shen’s finger shimmered with a moist luster. He even felt an impulse to put that finger in his own mouth to taste the boy’s sweetness.
“…”
He snapped back from the absurd thought, his ears turning red. For the first time, he clearly realized that he did, in fact, have the potential to be a pervert. Decades of elite education suppressed that side of him.
Qin Shen took a tissue, leisurely wiped his fingertip clean, and pulled the soundly sleeping Pei Yu into his arms.
That night, Pei Yu slept exceptionally well. When he woke up, he felt full of energy, marveling that the sense of security Qin Shen provided was a potent medicine.
Opening his eyes, he found that he had somehow ended up in Qin Shen’s arms again. His face was very close to Qin Shen’s. If he lifted his head even slightly, he would kiss the man’s high bridge. With his ears turning slightly hot, Pei Yu tried to sneak out of the warm embrace like a thief. He moved inch by inch, victory nearly in sight, when Qin Shen easily hooked an arm around his waist, rendering all of Pei Yu’s efforts futile.
“It’s still early. Sleep a bit longer.” Qin Shen’s chest was pressed tightly against the boy’s back. The man’s long arms locked him in.
With their legs overlapping, Pei Yu couldn’t help but blush. He pushed at Qin Shen’s arms. “I still have to do my homework and write my reflection.” He shouldn’t have indulged in “male beauty” yesterday!
“It’s fine to skip it occasionally.” Qin Shen moved closer again, his husky, sexy voice lingering by Pei Yu’s ear. His lips were very close as he spoke with deliberate allure, “Baby, stay with me a bit longer. After you go to school, I have to do my rehab… it’s going to hurt.”
Pei Yu recalled the image of the painful rehab and fell right into the trap. Combined with the doting nickname, the green Pei Yu was coaxed into a daze.
“Alright… just a little bit longer then.” Pei Yu tossed his homework and half-finished reflection to the back of his mind. Behind him, the corners of Qin Shen’s lips hooked up slightly as he enjoyed the momentary peace of the morning.
Time ticked away. If they didn’t get up soon, they would be late. Qin Shen reluctantly let go of Pei Yu. Pei Yu was still in his pajamas; his school uniform was back in his own room.
“I’ll go back and change. See you in a bit.”
Qin Shen got up as well. “Alright. I’ll get ready too.”
“Do you want me to help you?” Pei Yu blinked.
Qin Shen shook his head. “No need. I’m quite fast at changing.”
“Okay then, I’m off.” Pei Yu slid his feet into his slippers and padded out of the bedroom. As soon as he pushed the door open, he bumped into Qin Yiyang, who was already in his uniform.
“Hello, my invincibly smart Brother Pei!” Qin Yiyang waved. “Good morning.”
Pei Yu: “Good morning. I’ll change and come down.”
Qin Yiyang stood in the hallway, stunned. Wait… did Pei Yu just walk out of his cousin’s room?! Shocking!
“So, you’re saying Xiao Yu and A-Shen slept together last night?” Grandpa Qin was surprised at the breakfast table.
Qin Yiyang took a big gulp of milk. “Looks like it. I saw it with my own eyes—Pei Yu coming out of Big Bro’s room in pajamas, hair messy, looking like he just woke up.”
Grandpa Qin burst into hearty laughter. Pei Yu was truly the Qin family’s lucky star.
The laughter continued until Pei Yu and Qin Shen entered. Pei Yu sat down and took a bite of a crab roe bun, forgetting how hot they could be.
“Hiss—” Scorched, Pei Yu pouted.
“Burned?” the others asked in unison.
Qin Shen frowned and had Aunt Zhou bring the first aid kit. He used his left hand to gently hold Pei Yu’s chin. “Open up a bit more. I’ll apply the medicine.”
“Mm-mm…” Pei Yu revealed a soft tongue with a red patch at the tip.
After a cool sensation passed, the pain eased. But he couldn’t eat directly; he could only sip some fruit juice through a straw. Ugh. Healthy things tasted terrible.
“Sorry. It’s my fault for not warning you,” Qin Shen said by his ear. Pei Yu looked at him with beautiful eyes. He had never seen someone as eager to take the blame as Qin Shen.
It was time for school. Today, Qin Shen decided to accompany them. Before they left, he had Aunt Zhou pack a lunch box of cut fruit.
“If you get hungry before noon, you can eat this,” Qin Shen said.
“Wow, then I’ll take it!” Pei Yu smiled. Then, he spotted the physics test he had forgotten to write.
“Brother Pei, you didn’t finish the test? Want to ‘reference’ my homework?” Qin Yiyang offered.
Qin Shen raised an eyebrow. “Your physics test? If I recall correctly, you failed physics last semester.”
“Pfft—” Pei Yu laughed.
Qin Yiyang was mortified. “Fine! But you have to trust my seatmate’s skill!”
Qin Shen gave him a meaningful look. “So, your test is copied from your seatmate?”
Qin Yiyang’s parents didn’t meddle much. Since his father’s failed power struggle, he took a relaxed VP role and spent weekends traveling. They were happy to have Yiyang live at the estate under Qin Shen’s wing.
Qin Shen hoped Qin Yiyang could get into a domestic university. “You’re a senior now. Focus. I’ve hired tutors to come to the house. Aim for at least an undergraduate degree.”
Qin Yiyang groaned, “Alright, alright, Bro, stop talking. Someone would think you’re my dad.”
Qin Shen suddenly went silent, feeling like a nagging elder. He turned his head to look at Pei Yu.
Once in the car, Qin Shen whispered to Pei Yu. “Did I sound too nagging just now?” his voice was very soft. Because of the sudden whisper, Pei Yu didn’t react immediately.
He felt as if his ears were about to melt from the man’s warm, lingering breath.
After a few seconds, he blinked and asked, “What do you mean, ‘just now’?”
“When I was lecturing Qin Yiyang,” Qin Shen said.
The daylight was beautiful; the golden morning sun pierced through the thin layers of clouds, illuminating the boy’s clean and vibrant profile, tinging his hair with a gentle golden hue.
Pei Yu’s eyes curved; his smile was breathtaking. “Not at all. I think everything you said was absolutely right.”
As a student who also valued academics, Pei Yu didn’t find anything wrong with Qin Shen’s words.
Qin Shen, who was making a concentrated effort to bridge the generational gap, let out a small sigh of relief and imperceptibly curled his lips into a smile. He looked at Pei Yu, who seemed to be layered under a golden “shimmer filter.”
Dressed in his blue-and-white school uniform, Pei Yu looked clean and pleasing from every angle. Sometimes Qin Shen felt his luck was simply too good to have met such an obedient Omega.
“It would be nice if I could have a kiss,” Qin Shen couldn’t help but let his thoughts slip out.
Pei Yu’s face went into a “shocked kitten” expression: ?!
He stole a glance at the driver and Qin Yiyang sitting in the front and said softly, “You can’t. They’re right there. We’ll be caught if you try to steal a kiss.”
Qin Shen knew it was unlikely, but hearing that Pei Yu was worried about being seen—rather than rejecting the idea outright—sent a ripple of excitement through his heart.
He teased lazily, “So what you’re saying is, I can kiss you when no one is around?”
This time, Pei Yu couldn’t stop his cheeks from turning red. Qin Shen is such a rogue, why would he ask that…
“That’s not allowed either,” Pei Yu muttered softly, his ears turning a deep crimson.
“Oh.” Qin Shen expressed a hint of regret and sighed, “If I’d known, I would have just kissed you last night while you were sleeping.”
Pei Yu’s eyes widened, and his flushed face glared at the dignified-looking man.
“Why are you looking at me so fiercely?” Qin Shen’s expression remained calm. “I didn’t actually kiss you last night.”
Pei Yu bit his lip, not knowing what to say to him. After all, he was the one who had suggested they sleep together last night.
The next second, his cheek was pinched by Qin Shen.
Qin Shen even gave a serious review of the texture: “So soft.”
Pei Yu: “…”
The car came to a steady halt just as Qin Yiyang finished his game, the screen displaying a large “VICTORY.”
“Brother Pei, let’s go.” He turned around and saw Pei Yu with bright red cheeks.
Qin Yiyang paused, then glanced at Qin Shen, who had a faint smile in his eyes, and felt a pang of “single person’s grief” once again. Why do I have to be fed dog food every single day?
Pei Yu had planned to finish his physics test during English morning self-study. After the bell rang, the English teacher didn’t show up to supervise; instead, Sun Hai walked in carrying a thermos filled with wolfberries and red dates.
“The English teacher is on leave today. I’m taking her self-study session, and the two English periods this morning will be swapped for physics.”
The students groaned sluggishly in response.
Sun Hai: “I’m going to spot-check a few physics tests from yesterday to see which problems need explaining.”
The sleepy “sandmen” in the students’ eyes vanished instantly. Everyone lowered their heads, terrified of being called on.
Pei Yu, who had just pulled his physics test out of his bag to start: “…”
I couldn’t be this unlucky, right?
He looked up, only to accidentally lock eyes with Sun Hai’s sharp, spirited gaze.
“Pei Yu, Qin Yiyang, Li Shuangshuang, Zhou Yang…” Sun Hai rattled off a few names. “Physics representative, collect their papers.”
“Crap, Brother Pei, what are you going to do?” Qin Yiyang pulled out his own test.
Zhou Yue found the question strange and asked, resting her chin on her palm, “What do you mean? Is it even possible for Pei Yu not to have done his homework?”
The physics representative reached the back row: “Papers.”
Qin Yiyang handed his over. Seeing Pei Yu not moving, the representative blinked: “Top student, your physics paper.”
A few students by the aisle looked over at Pei Yu while reciting their English essays.
Pei Yu said with slight embarrassment, “I’m sorry, I forgot to do it.”
The surrounding students let out a collective gasp. As expected of the student who got a perfect score—a simple physics test obviously doesn’t challenge him, so he didn’t even bother.
The representative was stunned for a moment: “I see. I’ll let the teacher know.” He took Qin Yiyang’s homework and turned back toward the podium.
A few seconds later, Pei Yu saw Sun Hai frown, stand up, and walk over.
Qin Yiyang whispered, “Holy crap, Sun Hai is coming. Brother Pei, you’re definitely going to be made to stand in the back.” He added, “I asked you in the car if you wanted to copy mine, and you insisted on writing it yourself.”
Looking at the stern Sun Hai, Pei Yu’s heart raced with nerves. Standing in the back… He had never been punished for missing homework before.
“You didn’t write the physics test?” Sun Hai walked over and asked in a low voice.
Pei Yu was a bit dazed and felt quite ashamed. “Yes. I forgot. I was planning to finish it before physics class today.”
Sun Hai let out a long “Oh.” “But the first period is physics.”
Pei Yu paused. “I was going to do it during English self-study…”
