After Entering a Contract Marriage with a Disabled Alpha - Chapter 23
Pei Yu was feeling great, rubbing against Qin Shen’s neck one moment and shifting around the next. He was like a pampered, disobedient kitten. But for a kitten to act spoiled toward the person feeding him—that was an immense honor.
Qin Shen was truly suffering, yet happy.
Pei Yu, on the other hand, was perfectly comfortable, wrapped airtight in the Alpha’s dense pheromones. It was only Qin Shen who had it hard.
To make matters worse, Pei Yu began discussing pheromones with him, completely lacking any self-awareness.
“Your pheromones smell so good.” Pei Yu gripped Qin Shen’s collar.
The man’s bathrobe was already loose, and the belt was tied sloppily; it was prone to coming undone with even a slight touch.
“The scent of cedar and mint—it’s very suitable for summer.” Pei Yu’s eyes were bright. “But when winter comes, you’ll probably make people feel even colder.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Pei Yu leaned in to sniff Qin Shen’s scent again, acting like a little rogue.
“I told you, be good.” Qin Shen’s voice grew increasingly hoarse, his grainy tone brushing against the boy’s ear. He could clearly feel Pei Yu’s lean, soft physique.
Pei Yu didn’t go to the gym; his only chance for exercise was running during the school’s long breaks or doing a few minutes of calisthenics. His flesh was soft and yielding, a completely different state from Qin Shen’s.
“How am I being bad?” Pei Yu grumbled, moving again and staring with innocent eyes. “Fine, I’ll get down then.”
Seeing that Pei Yu was about to leave, Qin Shen licked his lips and hurriedly pulled him back into a hug. “No need. Just stay like this.”
He paused, then lowered his eyes. In the darkness, the tips of his ears were slightly red. “I really like it when you’re pressed against me like this.”
“Hehe.” Pei Yu let out a soft laugh, his eyes curving into beautiful crescents. He took hold of Qin Shen’s fingers, stroking them in the dark, carefully feeling the man’s long knuckles.
The loose-fitting bathrobe inadvertently slipped open a bit more.
The lights in the courtyard of the estate cast a dim, amber glow, providing just enough weak light to illuminate Qin Shen. The man’s facial features were profound, his lines rugged and sharp. His Adam’s apple was larger than Pei Yu’s, bobbing rhythmically as he swallowed.
With every breath, Qin Shen’s mind—trying to maintain its sanity—fought against his body—which wanted to be close to Pei Yu. It was a very delicate balance.
Qin Shen spent every ounce of his energy trying to maintain control, but in the next second, Pei Yu ruthlessly broke it.
“Your body is so good.” Pei Yu propped up his upper body and looked down at Qin Shen’s well-defined chest muscles.
They weren’t the exaggerated kind; it was a thin layer of muscle, firm and compact. With his pale skin, it was incredibly pleasing to the eye.
Pei Yu had once wanted to work out to have a body like this, but achieving such a state required time and effort, so the plan had been shelved for the time being. He didn’t have much muscle on his chest, nor did he have distinct abs; he only had a flat stomach, long legs, and what little “meat” he had on his body was all on his rear.
Qin Shen was nearly driven mad by the teasing. He didn’t know how Pei Yu could say such things in such a casual tone. One moment he was saying his pheromones smelled good, the next he was praising his physique.
Sensing that things were about to spiral out of control, Qin Shen parted his lips, about to say something to stop him. But then, his voice failed him completely.
The pink jade bracelet pressed against his abdomen, sending a chill through him as Pei Yu’s warm palm came to rest right on top.
“Can I touch your abs?” Pei Yu asked curiously. “I kind of want to know if abs feel soft or hard.”
“…”
After a long silence, Qin Shen finally said hoarsely, “Isn’t your hand already on them?”
Pei Yu blinked. “You should know, an excellent physique is also an indispensable trait for an Alpha to attract an Omega.”
Qin Shen raised an eyebrow. “And?”
“I’m trying hard to fall in love with you,” Pei Yu said innocently, as if he were truly just looking for Qin Shen’s good points to reach his goal as quickly as possible. “So, is it not even okay to test the texture?”
Pei Yu added softly, “Once we’re truly together in the future, won’t I be able to touch your abs whenever I want?”
Qin Shen pursed his lips, his jaw muscles clenching tightly. A vein near his temple throbbed.
“You can…”
With permission granted, Pei Yu actually did it. His slender, white fingers lightly traced the man’s exceptionally superior abdominal muscles.
Because of his leg disability, Qin Shen had to develop a powerful upper body to make his daily life easier. The eight-pack was neatly arranged, distinct and firm. Every muscle was clean-lined, brimming with concentrated hormones and powerful explosive force.
While Pei Yu was playing the rogue, Qin Shen instinctively held his breath, not daring to breathe too hard. His emotions were wound tight as those soft, warm palms sensed him wantonly.
“Hard.” Pei Yu’s pale pink fingertips gave a little poke.
Qin Shen reached his breaking point. He gripped Pei Yu’s wrists, his dark eyes looking deep and somber in the night. He pulled Pei Yu close in one swift motion, leaving the boy sprawling across his chest again. The man’s thin lips slowly drew near.
“Baby, stop playing with me.”
The sexy, raspy voice was like a feather scraping against Pei Yu’s eardrum. Qin Shen’s voice was not only pleasant but also carried a thick undercurrent of desire and a genuine plea for mercy. It was as if he truly couldn’t take Pei Yu’s games anymore.
Pei Yu froze. When he realized what Qin Shen had just called him, blood rushed to his face in an instant.
“What… what did you call me?” A massive wave of shame swept over him. Pei Yu was so nervous his tongue felt tied.
“Baby.”
Qin Shen used one hand to stroke the protruding shoulder blades on the boy’s back while the other arm encircled Pei Yu’s waist.
“…” Pei Yu curled his toes in embarrassment.
“Don’t call me that,” he whispered, wanting to cover his face in shame.
“Do you not like that name?” Qin Shen asked, lowering his long lashes.
“It’s—it’s not that I don’t like it.” Pei Yu didn’t know how to describe it. “Baby” was too sweet and sticky; he was already eighteen, yet he was being called that. It was… it was just all wrong.
Every cell in his body shivered. That overly doting nickname hit Pei Yu right in the heart. Most importantly, the person saying it was the cold and handsome Qin Shen. The massive sense of contrast hit Pei Yu’s bullseye perfectly.
“So, you do like it?” Qin Shen called out softly once more.
The doting name melted into the night air. Pei Yu’s face was beet red. He shifted, trying to get off of Qin Shen.
“Today’s treatment should be enough. I’ll help you again next time.”
Pei Yu tried desperately to escape the overwhelming shame and the heat of the moment, but Qin Shen was not prepared to let him go.
A powerful arm wound around Pei Yu. As long as Qin Shen willed it, relying on an Alpha’s ferocity and physical strength—which was several times higher than an average person’s—Pei Yu stood no chance of escape.
The boy’s thin back and shoulder blades were pinned down firmly, forcing him to press even closer. He was wearing pajamas, while Qin Shen’s bathrobe was now quietly disarrayed. A thin layer of soft cotton was not enough to insulate him from the scorching heat of the Alpha’s body; Pei Yu was nearly dazed by the temperature.
“You play enough and then you want to run? You’re being quite unfair, do you know that?”
Qin Shen’s tone was sharp and serious, as if he truly intended to make Pei Yu pay a price before letting him leave. Pei Yu had a bad premonition; his eyelid twitched.
In the next second, sensing the reaction Qin Shen couldn’t suppress, Pei Yu went completely blank. His face turned explosive red, and he stammered, “I… I have school tomorrow.”
He hurriedly added in a panic, “It’s already very late. We should just go to sleep.”
“You think I can sleep?”
Qin Shen’s voice was extremely dangerous, aggressively occupying the boy’s eardrums. “You should know that it’s not convenient for me to take a cold shower by myself.”
“Uh…”
Pei Yu felt a bit guilty, fearing Qin Shen would force him to help. This pace was far too fast for him. He blurted out randomly, “Watch your image! You’re still in your ‘probationary period’ with me.”
That one sentence left Qin Shen with no move to make.
Qin Shen, who seconds ago had been aggressively prepared to make Pei Yu take responsibility, immediately deflated. But he was still in discomfort, so he could only compromise: “Then we stay like this. Just holding each other.”
“There’s no logic in provoking me and then just patting your butt and walking away.”
Pei Yu swallowed hard. “…”
He stayed in one position for too long and wanted to turn over, but he was afraid of stirring up more trouble. Yet his leg was still touching Qin Shen’s…
“Fine.” Pei Yu took responsibility for the trouble he had caused.
Qin Shen pulled Pei Yu close with satisfaction. Pei Yu instinctively tried to shrink back but was only hugged tighter. His breath hitched, and his eyelashes fluttered erratically. The main issue was that Qin Shen’s presence was simply a bit too intense.
Five minutes passed. Pei Yu couldn’t help but feel drowsy, but Qin Shen showed no change—there wasn’t even a sign of him calming down.
Pei Yu’s voice was muffled and sleepy, sounding like he was acting spoiled: “How much longer? I’m so sleepy… besides, staying like this for too long isn’t good for your health.”
“I can’t help it either.” The veins on Qin Shen’s neck were exceptionally prominent.
“Okay.” Pei Yu knew that the more he said, the more mistakes he’d make, so he didn’t dare speak further.
Since Qin Shen truly couldn’t go take a cold shower alone, and he was afraid that making unreasonable demands would cause him to fail Pei Yu’s “probationary period,” he could only endure it.
In the room, the crisp scent of cedar grew dense, wrapping around Pei Yu strand by strand. Qin Shen attempted to use this method to feel Pei Yu, but it was merely “drinking poison to quench thirst.”
It took another ten minutes for the heat in Qin Shen’s blood to finally cool down and for the intense desire to retreat.
Pei Yu, lying on top of him, had slowly grown accustomed to Qin Shen’s “perversion” and wasn’t as shy as he was at the beginning. His eyelashes drooped, his heavy eyelids fighting to stay open.
Feeling that Qin Shen had finally returned to his “gentlemanly” state, Pei Yu suddenly remembered something.
Back when he was a Beta, he never specifically thought about whether he was interested in men or women, but he certainly never pictured himself as the “receiving” party. But now he had a specific marriage partner.
Qin Shen was an Alpha and he was an Omega. If they stayed together in the future, it wasn’t like they could let an Alpha be on the bottom. And Qin Shen only had a leg injury; he wasn’t “incapable” like the rumors claimed.
Pei Yu paused. Thinking about the potentially violent and painful process of a Complete Marking, his sleepiness vanished instantly.
He widened his eyes, looked up, and asked urgently, “If… if I’m with you in the future…”
“Won’t you have to completely mark me?”
Qin Shen, who had just regained his calm: “…”
He felt like he was being played to death. This back-and-forth tossing and turning was bound to lead to trouble sooner or later.
“Do you realize what you are saying?”
“You are discussing a Complete Marking with an Alpha.” Qin Shen spoke each word slowly, as if exerting extreme self-control. He gritted his teeth, every breath he exhaled coming out scorching hot.
Meeting Qin Shen’s deep, meaningful black eyes, Pei Yu shrunk his neck. “I’m just asking.”
“In all likelihood, yes,” Qin Shen said. “But you’re still young. Even if that time comes, it will be after you enter college, or even after you graduate.”
Pei Yu: “Oh…”
His internal reproductive chamber—unique to an Omega—felt a sense of security. He looked at Qin Shen, hesitated for a long time, and said, “Mr. Qin, I… I still can’t help but want to back out a little.”
Qin Shen’s heart jumped. He knit his brows in confusion. “Why?”
“Because you’re…” Pei Yu’s face heated up, and he said in a tiny voice, “a bit too big.”
Qin Shen paused. He thought about the age gap between himself and Pei Yu. They said a three-year gap was a chasm, and there were three of those between them; many topics of conversation weren’t even on the same level.
“I’m not that much older than you.” Qin Shen said. “It’s not a problem.” He would work hard to understand the topics frequently discussed by people Pei Yu and Qin Yiyang’s age.
Seeing Qin Shen’s calm and indifferent face, as if he didn’t care about the issue at all, the pain-averse Pei Yu let out a dissatisfied huff and said angrily, “Of course! It’s not like you’re the one who will feel the pain, so of course you think it’s not a problem.”
Qin Shen froze. A flash of stunned realization crossed his eyes.
“Pei Yu.” He squeezed the rounded curve below Pei Yu’s waist with some force.
Pei Yu shivered immediately, his whole body going soft. His voice couldn’t stop trembling as his watery eyes glared at Qin Shen.
“Why are you pinching me?” Pei Yu felt wronged.
“I thought you were talking about age.” Qin Shen’s gaze was dark and heavy. “Are you intentionally trying to make it so I can’t sleep tonight?”
Pei Yu blinked, his face turning red. He murmured, “I have to face this problem eventually…”
Taking advantage of Qin Shen’s distraction, Pei Yu flipped over, escaped from the man’s arms, and hurriedly hid under the covers. He bundled himself up tightly, leaving only his palm-sized, exquisite face showing.
He stole a glance at Qin Shen’s open bathrobe. The room was too dark, but he could vaguely see a prominent silhouette.
Pei Yu’s face reddened further. He couldn’t help but say, “You’re the one who can’t handle being teased, and yet you blame me.”
In the next second, Qin Shen moved, as if he were about to get up and capture the irresponsible Pei Yu who had caused trouble but refused to fix it.
Frightened, Pei Yu immediately buried his head under the covers. He wiggled his body, and his clear, clean voice drifted out from the blanket.
“I’m sleeping! Goodnight, Mr. Qin.”
Qin Shen stared at the lump in the covers. After several seconds, he said in a low voice, “You little ingrate.”
