After Breaking Up With The Wealthy Heiress - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
The black sedan sped along the road.
Tan Yunshu knew where Fang Yu’s internship firm was located. She drove toward that district, eventually pulling up in front of a hotel that charged only two hundred yuan for an overnight stay.
This hotel was less than two kilometers from where Fang Yu worked.
To Tan Yunshu, this price was as ordinary as could be, but she had to consider Fang Yu’s perspective. Fang Yu always kept things very clear and separate between them.
The two checked in with a sleepy receptionist. Within two minutes, they crossed a hallway covered in cheap, soft carpet and swiped their keycard into a forty-square-meter room.
This “King Room” was far more spacious and brighter than Fang Yu’s rented home. The furnishings were complete. Her home didn’t even have a large LCD TV; usually, Fang Yu’s activities at home consisted solely of studying at her small desk. Of course, she didn’t spend much time at home she was always busy.
Fang Yu had just finished hanging up her backpack when Tan Yunshu hooked her arm around her waist, pressing her against the cabinet in the entryway.
Without high heels on, Fang Yu was naturally a bit shorter than Tan Yunshu. Now, she was forced onto her tiptoes, clinging to Tan Yunshu just to stay balanced. Tan Yunshu removed her glasses first. In the next moment, Tan Yunshu’s dense, warm breath covered her, invading all her senses.
A kiss needs no appointment; it happens as soon as the desire is there.
Fang Yu’s lips were pried open. A soft, wet tongue entangled with hers, giving her no chance to escape. The person in front of her carried a pleasant fragrance, passing it to her bit by bit.
Fang Yu’s hands gradually rose to caress Tan Yunshu’s neck. When her fingertips brushed against Tan Yunshu’s soft hair, she let them linger, unconsciously twirling strands in circles.
After an unknown number of circles, Tan Yunshu let her go.
Both of their lips glistened with moisture. Fang Yu tentatively leaned in closer, licking Tan Yunshu’s pink lips—once wasn’t enough, so she licked again.
Tan Yunshu stood still, eyes half-lidded, staring at her quietly. Watching her try to please her.
A few seconds later, Fang Yu gave up.
She looked into Tan Yunshu’s eyes and said, “It won’t work. The more I lick, the wetter they get.” She reached for her glasses and put them back on before continuing, “But don’t be angry with that man anymore, Tan Yunshu.”
Tan Yunshu let out a soft laugh.
How could she not see through Fang Yu’s tricks? Every time Fang Yu made her angry in the past, she would “coax” her like this, her dark pupils full of innocence.
But it seemed Fang Yu didn’t realize what the actual source of her anger was this time.
Tan Yunshu slowly raised her hand, pinching Fang Yu’s earlobe, and finally just said, “Go take a shower.”
Fang Yu realized something belatedly and said with a hint of embarrassment, “I don’t have a change of underwear…”
The event had been sudden; she hadn’t had time to think ahead. While they were on the road, she had sent a WeChat message to Fang Qin saying she was staying at a friend’s place tonight. Her excuse was that her friend was in a bad mood and needed her company. Fang Qin wasn’t very familiar with her social life; even if she had doubts, she had no way to verify them. As long as she was safe, it was fine.
“I have an unworn pair in my bag.”
“Oh,” Fang Yu blurted out, “Thank you.”
Tan Yunshu glanced at her sideways, the frost in her eyes melting slightly as she uttered a single syllable: “Mm.”
While Tan Yunshu opened her bag, Fang Yu went to stand by the window. She held the curtains but hesitated to pull them shut, instead gazing out at the night view. The hotel was in a good location with a wide field of vision and a gentle night breeze. Even though it was late, everything she saw was much more comfortable than Xinghu Courtyard No. 35. It wasn’t as crowded, the air was fresh, and more importantly, there were no constant barking dogs or crying children.
Fang Yu didn’t look for long. She closed the window and pulled the curtains, then turned around.
Tan Yunshu was sitting on the sofa, leaning back in a lazy, casual posture. She was playing with her phone, her new manicure very eye-catching. Catching Fang Yu’s movement in her peripheral vision, she turned her head and pointed to the underwear box on the coffee table. “Go ahead.”
“Okay.”
Tan Yunshu’s lips curled slightly. “But, Fang Yu.”
“Hmm?”
“Is this the first time we’ve actually got a room together?” Tan Yunshu sounded a bit uncertain, but the slight arch of her eyebrow betrayed her thoughts.
The term “got a room” (kāifáng) carried a suggestive, ambiguous weight, and Tan Yunshu was using it deliberately.
Fang Yu met her gaze and nodded. “Yes.”
Seeing her like this, Tan Yunshu’s mood improved a bit. But as she looked back at her phone, she heard Fang Yu’s phone ring.
The room was only so big; it wasn’t as if it were a private affair.
Fang Yu answered Mengmeng’s call without avoiding Tan Yunshu. She stood by the window, pulling the curtain open slightly to look outside.
“Hello? Mengmeng.” “Sorry, I wasn’t looking at my phone much just now. Yeah, I’m home.” “Malatang tomorrow night? Sure, okay, no problem.” …
The call didn’t last long. After hanging up, Fang Yu checked WeChat and indeed saw the messages from Mengmeng saying she had arrived home. Seeing that Fang Yu hadn’t replied, Mengmeng had asked twice more, then called to check on her.
Just as the call ended, she heard a “thud” from behind.
The door had closed. It wasn’t particularly heavy, but it sounded exceptionally loud in Fang Yu’s ears.
Fang Yu turned around to find the sofa empty. Tan Yunshu had left the room, bag and all. Only the underwear box on the coffee table proved she had been there.
Fang Yu didn’t understand what had happened.
She was stunned for a moment, then grabbed her room card and chased after her while dialing Tan Yunshu’s number.
Unfortunately, they were on the teens-level floor. Tan Yunshu had entered the elevator ahead of her. There were only two elevators in the hotel, and the other one was currently on a high floor, slowly descending.
Fang Yu’s lips were pressed tight.
Tan Yunshu didn’t answer her call; she actually hung up. Only the mechanical prompt sounded in her ear, echoing in her heart. She didn’t give up and hit redial, knowing that if she didn’t show how much she cared, Tan Yunshu would be even more upset.
The young miss’s moods were unpredictable; Fang Yu was already used to it. If it were anyone else, Fang Yu thought, she would have cut ties long ago.
But this was Tan Yunshu…
She couldn’t let go.
She still remembered the first day they crossed paths.
That day, she was participating in a major college competition, but the prepared host had suddenly fallen ill. The administration decided to pull someone from the Art College’s Broadcasting and Hosting Department to help out, since the two colleges were close.
The person brought in to save the day was Tan Yunshu.
That was the first time she had seen Tan Yunshu from such a short distance. Before that, Tan Yunshu had only existed in rumors. Tan Yunshu was a frequent topic of conversation among students after class. The daughter of the Junling Hotel family beautiful, rich, with a good personality, and many admirers in school. She was someone most people saw as out of reach.
Fang Yu remembered her mother’s warning and didn’t stare as blatantly as others. Tan Yunshu was undoubtedly excellent; despite just arriving at the venue, she could host perfectly as long as she was given the script, no matter the sudden circumstances.
That competition was full of talented students, and it was Fang Yu’s first time participating. She heard Tan Yunshu read her name. When the competition ended, Fang Yu had outperformed herself and took second place.
She thought her intersection with Tan Yunshu ended there. That was what her mother would have wanted.
But one afternoon not long after, while she was waiting for the bus, a heavy rainstorm suddenly broke out. She had forgotten her umbrella. The shelter at the bus stop couldn’t withstand rain that heavy and sudden, and the wind was rushing toward her. Returning to school would only get her more soaked, so she tried her best to shrink into a corner.
She still got wet.
The rain poured down; the windshield wipers of passing cars looked like they were working so hard they might catch fire. The bus wasn’t coming anytime soon.
Before long, a black sedan pulled up near the front of the bus stop.
Tan Yunshu stepped out from the driver’s seat holding an umbrella. Rain splashed on the ground, dirtying her beautiful shoes and the hem of her skirt. Under the torrential rain, Fang Yu’s glasses were fogged up, but she could still see Tan Yunshu’s slender, graceful fingers on the umbrella handle, and that face so beautiful it would have been more than enough for her to be a celebrity.
Tan Yunshu walked toward her step by step until she stood in front of her, tilting the umbrella toward her. Tan Yunshu’s back was instantly covered in rain, water stains slowly spreading from her shoulders.
“I’ll take you home, Fang Yu.” …
Recalling this, Fang Yu’s heart grew even more urgent as she hurried downstairs.
Fortunately, the other elevator reached her floor a few seconds later, and the ride down was smooth without any stops. However, by the time she reached the first-floor lobby, the familiar black sedan had already pulled out, slowly disappearing into the night.
This time, her call to Tan Yunshu was not rejected.
Fang Yu pursed her lips, watching the car fade away, as Tan Yunshu’s voice sounded in her ear, seemingly from a great distance:
“I have an appointment with a friend.”
“It’s late. Get some rest.”
