- Chapter 26 - It Won't Be... Filmed
“I went to look for you. They said Senior wasn’t there.”
The youth’s phoenix eyes were lowered, his gaze dark and heavy, staring fixedly at the Alpha’s face. Recently, the residual toxins in his body had been cleared; in less than a week, he would differentiate and manifest his secondary gender characteristics.
He would differentiate into an Alpha, just like the man before him.
He knew that with this man’s obsession with Omegas, the moment Gao Chang realized he wasn’t one, the Alpha would surely avoid him. How could he allow things to slip out of his control? Before that happened, he had to do something. Even if it meant using the hands of those media people to push him to the peak of public opinion. To imprison him…
Gao Chang felt his heart skip a beat under that impenetrable, light-colored gaze. He involuntarily turned his eyes away. “What a coincidence. I went to your classroom to find you, and your classmates also said you weren’t there. That’s how I found this place.”
“Senior went to the Principal’s office?!”
The youth squeezed between the Alpha’s legs, bowing his head. His nose brushed against the clean, smooth line of the Alpha’s neck, sniffing deeply inch by inch—like a king patrolling his territory. Beneath those calm, light-colored eyes lurked a chilling possessiveness.
Nearing his differentiation period, his physical capabilities were not only far beyond what they had been, but he was also gradually shifting toward the traits of an Alpha. Even his sense of smell had become ten times more acute, allowing him to detect the faint, lingering scent on the Alpha’s shoulder a scent derived from the same source as aquatic plants. Judging by the thin concentration, it seemed the two hadn’t had much contact.
Thinking of this, the gloom in the youth’s eyes faded slightly.
“You knew?!”
Gao Chang felt a bit uncomfortable and braced his hand against the light-haired head, trying to push the other away from his slightly distorted collar.
“The Principal’s pheromones are on you.”
Xing Xiyan slowly but firmly pushed back against the resisting hand. He buried himself back into the nook of the Alpha’s neck, which was rich with the scent of cold bamboo, and sucked on the collarbone.
Hearing him mention the Principal, Gao Chang immediately remembered the business at hand. He grabbed a handful of the short, light hair at his neck, yanking slightly with a bit of force. His tone was serious: “I have something to tell you. Something very important.”
At his words, Xing Xiyan raised his head, his eyes silent with inquiry.
Gao Chang gave a dry cough, trying his best not to notice the itching sensation on his collarbone. “The military academy’s disciplinary action has been decided. I’m required to go to Planet Gadobra for duty in ten days. The trial period is roughly… two years.”
“Did Senior… agree?”
The hand Xing Xiyan had around the Alpha’s waist loosened and then tightened. His chaotic thoughts, nearing their breaking point, inadvertently leaked out a fraction.
“…Yes, I agreed.”
Gao Chang didn’t ignore the stinging pain at his waist. Knowing the other was likely angry, a trace of guilt flashed across his face. He secretly regretted letting those posters stir up his desire for military merit, failing to stand firm in his refusal.
The youth’s eyes darkened. Sure enough. Again. Even though they had confirmed their relationship even though he had already granted the Alpha’s wish and agreed to the marriage the Alpha could still have his heart and mind stolen away by other people and other things.
“Why didn’t you refuse?”
Despite having anticipated the question, seeing the unmistakable dejection on that cold face made Gao Chang feel a twinge of apology. “You know, this is the academy’s rule. There was no way around it.”
Xing Xiyan suppressed the storm in his eyes and asked dully, “Since Senior is leaving, does the wedding we spoke of… still count?”
Noticing the hand on his waist was trembling more and more violently, Gao Chang realized things were heading south. He hurriedly expressed his determination: “Of course it counts! If you’re not at ease, we’ll move the wedding forward. Once we’ve registered and finished the ceremony, then I’ll leave!”
As long as they registered, they would be legal partners. Xing Xiyan would surely care about him a bit more. Even if the youth wanted a divorce one day, he’d have to find Gao Chang to sign the papers. It would prevent the boy from disappearing the moment Gao Chang left for two years. And of course, if the wedding could force the System out early, all the better.
The Alpha was making full calculations in his heart. After finishing, he didn’t forget to study the youth’s flawless face. Aside from the light-colored eyes which still held a lingering, unreadable emotion, the expression was the usual cold elegance. The previous dejection had vanished. Overall, he seemed to be in a decent mood.
Xing Xiyan emerged from his brief silence, taking Gao Chang’s hand and pressing it to his cheek. “…As Senior wishes.”
Gao Chang froze for a few seconds. He hadn’t expected Xing Xiyan to be so easily convinced. “How are you… being so agreeable this time?”
“I also want to complete the wedding with Senior as soon as possible.”
A tiny arc curled at the corners of the youth’s lips. His fingers, slender and nimble, circled the Alpha’s wrist, slowly moving and quietly measuring the size.
Gao Chang didn’t notice the small gesture, his heart feeling lighter. “That’s good. In the next few days, why don’t we go register our marriage first?”
As he spoke, he tried to pull his hand back, signaling for the other to get off him. Xing Xiyan, however, acted as if he didn’t understand the hint. He remained pinned in place, showing no intention of getting up. The hand at the Alpha’s waist expertly lifted the hem of his shirt, slipping inside to press against the warm, delicate skin. It moved with ease, massaging and exploring with varying pressure.
Feeling that hand carrying a hint of coolness move from his waist to his ribs and toward his chest, Gao Chang’s eyes went wide with shock. He never expected that his whim this morning to wear a loose T-shirt instead of a complex military uniform would end up making things so convenient for Xing Xiyan!
Before he could decide whether to stop the increasingly frantic pecking at his neck or the invasion of his body, he was suddenly jolted by a few impacts. Heat and excitement surged, penetrating the fabric and skin to strike his nerves. With almost no effort, the sensation easily broke through the memories he had tried to lock away, turning his mind into a mess of aches and tingles.
“Dammit… there are… cameras here…”
Gao Chang shrank back. His first reaction was to grab Xing Xiyan’s hand, which was currently attempting to pull down a zipper. He had wanted to deepen their bond, but he didn’t have the guts to do this in a place like this!
Xing Xiyan’s throat tightened. He looked up at the edge of the silver-white surveillance camera protruding from the wall; the lens was completely blocked. No matter which way it turned, it wouldn’t be able to film them.
Knowing the Alpha was promiscuous yet cared deeply about his reputation at certain times, the youth’s breathing deepened. The corners of his long, beautiful eyes were tinged with a faint, brilliant flush born of the excitement of holding the Alpha’s weakness.
He panted softly, suppressing the hot rush of sensation. With his free hand, he began to urgently stir the restlessness in the Alpha’s body with practiced ease.
“It won’t be filmed.”
“Even if it’s not filmed, this is still… it won’t work, right?!”
Forget what was on the ground if something flew over in the sky, they would still be caught perfectly clear. Gao Chang flailed his elbows, trying to block the constant harassment, his entire being radiating “I don’t believe you.”
“If Senior doesn’t want to be seen, then hide.”
Xing Xiyan took a few light bites of the Alpha’s perfectly curved chin, his voice thick with heat.
“?!”
Gao Chang was still wondering how he was supposed to hide when, in the next second, a cool breeze brushed his abdomen. The T-shirt on his body was yanked high by the youth.
Immediately following that, his vision was shrouded within a narrow space made of light-grey fabric. With every breath, he was surrounded by a rich, crisp, cold fragrance.
