After Being Seduced by a Beautiful Bad Girl Omega - Chapter 4
Teasing a little animal that does not know its own limits.
After getting off work and returning home, Pei Yuan deliberated for a moment before finally adding Cen Zhixu’s contact information.
Chatting idly with the system, she typed the numbers into her communication ring: “Ah, just a chance meeting, Miss Cen is so busy, she might have forgotten all about me by now.”
“Ding,” the notification tone sounded the next second.
Cen Zhixu: [You have successfully added a friend.]
Pei Yuan: “…”
The system: “Judging by the speed at which she accepted the request, Miss Cen has not forgotten all about you.”
Pei Yuan: “Thanks a lot, I can tell.”
Pei Yuan had always considered herself a bold person, ever since childhood. The number of reckless things she had done was at least eight hundred if not a thousand, which had once given her adoptive mother endless headaches.
Yet solely when facing Cen Zhixu, this strange Omega whom she had only met twice counting every single time, she felt a trace of inexplicable nervousness.
Why?
This was not like her.
Pei Yuan stared at the communication interface for a moment, her fingertips pausing on the input area before tapping out a line of text:
[Pei Yuan]: Good evening, Miss Cen.
Send.
Cen Zhixu: How have you considered it?
Five words without any pleasantries or padding, concise and direct.
Pei Yuan frowned: “Tsk.”
“Miss Cen seems quite obsessed with me, or rather, she is quite obsessed with an Alpha with 98.9% compatibility.”
Pei Yuan said to the system, “I do not think she needs an intimate relationship. In other words, what she needs should be Alpha pheromones.”
She thought about it: “Is it because of her legs?”
The system: “The higher the compatibility, the greater your suitability in physiological, spiritual, and emotional dimensions.”
“In human terms, it can probably be understood as ‘hitting it off,’ or rather, ‘destined partners.'”
The system continued: “I still suggest you consider her proposal, or at least try spending some time together. This is beneficial for both of you.”
“Sys, are you not my exclusive system?” Pei Yuan did not even raise her head. “Our relationship is this good, why do you keep helping Cen Zhixu speak?”
She tapped the communication ring twice, her tone teasing: “Could it be that you too fell for her looks and cannot walk away upon seeing a great beauty?”
The system: “…”
Pei Yuan stared at the dialog box, the corners of her mouth curving slightly, not the dull, ingratiating smile she wore at the company, but a sly, slightly mischievous arc.
She leisurely tapped out a line of text:
[Pei Yuan]: Miss Cen, I went for a pheromone test today. The report said my pheromones smell like a moldy orange that has been left out for half a month.
[Pei Yuan]: Are you sure you can accept that?
Send.
Pei Yuan leaned backward, sinking into the pillow, her hands crossed behind her head as she smiled smugly at the communication interface.
Come on, Miss Cen.
Let us see how you handle this.
During these days, the usually carefree Pei Yuan could be considered enduring humiliation, living a life of hiding out in her workstation at the office, where eating two extra pieces of meat required her to count pennies on her fingers.
Going to work, leaving work, eating, sleeping, spinning around in the exact same routine day after day. If not for the purpose of finding the mysterious weapon mentioned by her teammates, why would she suffer through this?
Yet in these past two days, this utterly boring city suddenly became a bit more interesting.
And then:
Cen Zhixu: Never had one.
Cen Zhixu: But we can try.
Pei Yuan’s smile froze on her face.
She let out a “tsk,” the tip of her tongue pressing against a sharp canine tooth inside her mouth as she slowly sucked on it.
What does “can try” mean?
Try what? Try a moldy orange? Or try her, Pei Yuan?
Pei Yuan originally harbored a slightly teasing intent, only to end up being outmaneuvered instead. She stared at the light screen for a long time without tapping out a reply.
The system popped up: “Why are you not replying to her?”
“Do not know how to reply,” Pei Yuan answered quite frankly. “I just feel like I lost a round, and for some reason I feel a bit unwilling.”
She removed the communication ring, tossed herself onto the bed, and muttered, “Whatever, I am not replying.”
The system: “Why?”
“What are you rushing for? It is not like I am never going to reply.” Pei Yuan yawned. “I need to give myself some time to think of the wording, do I not?”
“I cannot just answer every single sentence Cen Zhixu drops, what would that make me?”
“Her pet puppy?”
“Hmph.” After saying that, Pei Yuan chuckled softly to herself and rolled over, wrapping herself up in the blanket.
On the bedside table, the light screen of the communication ring dimmed, those two lines of text sinking into the dark screen.
Yet Pei Yuan knew it was there.
Like a piece of candy tucked into a pocket, not yet unwrapped, but just squeezing it through the wrapping paper was plenty of fun.
The structure of White Tower City was an extreme aesthetic of order. The entire city formed a standard circle, precisely divided into eight sector districts.
Each district possessed clear functions, for instance, Sector Two was used for residential housing, while Sector Six held many recreational and leisure facilities.
At the intersection of the eight pathways stood a tower made entirely of pure white: the White Tower.
It was the core of the entire city where all data processing, information dispatching, and city maintenance were completed.
Thanks to the system’s help, Pei Yuan, despite being a rather unwelcome “outsider,” managed to find a job at the White Tower.
At noon, Pei Yuan stretched luxuriously.
Seeing that the office was more than half empty, she also got up and took the cloud elevator to the employee cafeteria.
The White Tower certainly had deep pockets. Aside from nutrient packs, the restaurant even provided meals made from fresh ingredients, paired with a few simple fruits.
However, the portions were limited. After all, most people chose nutrient packs for convenience, and preparing too much food that went uneaten would only be a waste.
Pei Yuan had observed for a full two months, and she turned out to be the only one who deliberately came here to eat. The food was laid out there, whether she took two portions, three portions, or even a bit more, no one cared.
Pei Yuan was extremely satisfied with this. Every day she ate her fill, brought some along, and took at least four pieces of fruit back home.
However, today was a bit different.
Pei Yuan sauntered lazily, just arriving at the cafeteria entrance when she heard someone speaking inside from afar.
The voice was very soft, seemingly talking to herself:
“This thing is an orange?”
“How do you eat it?”
“No.”
Pei Yuan grabbed the door frame and poked half her head out.
Someone was standing deep inside the cafeteria, leaning against the edge of a long table.
Afternoon sunlight poured in through the glass dome, gilding her with a thin layer of gold, while she herself remained in cool tones.
Like a painting with grey-cold hues.
A white shirt, dark suit pants, her silver hair loosely tied back at the nape, with a stray lock draped over her chest, the ends slightly curled.
Her cuffs were rolled up to her mid-forearm, exposing a section of fair and slender wrist bones, and right in her hand, she was balancing an orange.
Cen Zhixu lowered her head, examining the round, orange-yellow little object in her hand.
She really could walk.
Pei Yuan raised an eyebrow.
Then why did she prepare a wheelchair? And why did she make me carry her up?
Pei Yuan was certain her footsteps were light, and she had even intentionally slowed her breathing, making absolutely not a single sound.
Yet Cen Zhixu saw her.
The orange stopped spinning. She abruptly turned her head, without the slightest hesitation, looking straight toward the place where Pei Yuan was peeking.
“Pei Yuan?”
She called her name.
Her voice was very soft, yet that trace of unfamiliar floral fragrance brushed past again, moist, gentle, wrapping around the tip of her nose inch by inch.
Pei Yuan silently walked out from behind the door.
Holding her hands together in an honest, simple-minded manner, she said, “Is this not Miss Cen? I did not expect you to also work at the White Tower, hahaha, what a coincidence, what a coincidence.”
Cen Zhixu spun the orange, her tone flat: “Did we not meet earlier at the entrance of the testing room?”
She actually remembered me?
Pei Yuan was surprised.
Cen Zhixu tossed the orange in the air, caught it steadily, and then with utmost naturalness, extended it forward: “Help me peel it.”
Pei Yuan accepted it as if under a spell.
The fruit peel was slightly cool, yet where her fingertips touched, a trace of lingering warmth faintly remained.
Cen Zhixu’s finger joints were very slender, making the orange look somewhat large in her hands, whereas in Pei Yuan’s grip, it could be easily held in one hand.
Pei Yuan wiped her hands with a wet wipe, pinching this round little thing, and belatedly reacted: Wait, why am I being so obedient?
Yet the orange was already in her hand. To peel or not to peel? That was a question.
Despicable.
I am really about to become her little puppy.
Pei Yuan grumbled inwardly as her finger bones pressed against the tenderest part of the orange peel, applying a slight force to sink deeply inside, squeezing the moist and soft pulp.
The peel split open a fine crack, stripped away by her thumb as juice oozed across her fingertips, wet and sticky.
The citrus fragrance overflowed.
“Miss Cen, are you treating me like free labor?” Pei Yuan smiled honestly, stealing a glance at her from the corner of her eye.
“Inside the White Tower, I am indeed considered your superior,” Cen Zhixu lazily curled a strand of fallen hair, “Is it really that excessive to order you around?”
Pei Yuan forced a smile: “Hahaha, not excessive at all. I love the White Tower and the White Tower loves me. The White Tower is my home, please feel free to order me around however you wish.”
She lowered her head and continued peeling the orange: “I just wonder, is Miss Cen a member of the White Tower Council, or the White Tower Research Institute?”
As soon as those words fell, the air stalled for a beat.
Cen Zhixu leaned against the edge of the table, her motion of twirling her long hair pausing as she turned her head to look over.
Those were grey-blue eyes with a gemstone-like texture, rimmed at the edges by an extremely faint ring of silver-grey.
Pei Yuan did not stop peeling the orange, but she suddenly felt a bit of weight on the top of her foot.
She looked down.
A light-colored, pointed short boot was stepping right on top of her shoe, with very light pressure.
Pei Yuan did not move.
Cen Zhixu did not pull back either.
She leaned forward slightly, and the tip of her boot slid up from her shoe surface, pressing against the inner side of Pei Yuan’s ankle, hooking her.
The boot tip was hard and cool, pressing against that little protruding bump of the ankle through a thin layer of trousers, grinding with moderate pressure.
There was hardly any distance between the two of them to begin with. With this lean forward, Pei Yuan could even count her long eyelashes and inhale that trace of faint floral fragrance.
Cen Zhixu leaned very close, close enough that if she went forward just half an inch further, their nose tips would touch.
Pei Yuan’s thoughts went blank for half a beat, inexplicably harboring the illusion that the other person was about to kiss her.
Yet she did not.
Cen Zhixu simply looked at her quietly, and then smiled very softly.
“Be a good girl and peel my orange.”
Her fingertip tapped on the tip of Pei Yuan’s nose, giving it a light scratch like teasing a little animal that does not know its own limits: “Do not ask what you should not ask.”
