“That’s the guesthouse at the foot of the mountain we’re headed to. It’ll take some time to get there, so you two can rest on the way,” the staff member said.

An Yu and Lin Duxi glanced at the towering mountain in the distance, then looked at each other, smiling as they turned their gaze outward.

The director at the door called to them.

“Teacher An, Teacher Lin, you’ll be staying at this guesthouse for the next few days. Here are your room keys. From your room, you can see the entire snow-capped mountain—absolutely breathtaking,” the director said.

An Yu took the room key and, together with Lin Duxi, went upstairs. Their room was on the right side of the second floor. Since they were a couple, the director didn’t question having them share a room.

An Yu set down her luggage and immediately had her attention captured by the huge transparent window in the living room. She walked over and pulled aside the curtains. The massive snow-capped mountain came into view—majestic and mysterious.

“It’s so beautiful,” she murmured.

Lin Duxi followed her gaze, naturally drawn to the huge window as well. An Yu, standing in the center, was bathed in a soft light that divided around her, perfectly blending with the snow-capped mountain. It was so pure that it seemed almost sacrilegious to disturb it.

“Shall we go down?” An Yu asked, turning to her. With the light behind her, her expression was hard to discern. Lin Duxi, lost in her gaze, nodded without catching the words clearly.

An Yu smiled at her, took her hand, and they walked over to sit on the sofa together.

“Is it really that beautiful?” An Yu asked, smiling as she tucked the strands of hair from Lin Duxi’s face behind her ear, revealing flawless skin.

Lin Duxi came back to reality, hearing the teasing in An Yu’s voice, and felt her ears flush pink. That blush was captured in An Yu’s gaze, her eyes full of tenderness.

Lin Duxi, hearing An Yu’s laughter, couldn’t help but hug her tightly, burying her head in her chest and murmuring her response.

“Beautiful… very beautiful.”

An Yu bent her eyes in a smile, recalling the complex emotions hidden in Lin Duxi’s concentrated gaze just now. Her expression softened as she asked quietly, “What were you thinking about?”

Lin Duxi shook her head in her embrace. She was thinking that she was now with An Yu, and that she would see countless moments like this in the future. Memories of past dark times sometimes crept back, making her cherish every moment with An Yu even more. She felt, as Jiang Yu had said, that An Yu truly was her cure.

An Yu didn’t know what Lin Duxi was thinking. Seeing her unresponsive, she didn’t press further, turning her gaze back to the distant snow-capped mountain. She pictured Lin Duxi standing at the foot of the mountain—the snowy landscape against her fair skin, dark hair contrasting with the white snow, exuding a sense of purity and cool elegance. Just imagining it made her almost breathless from the beauty.

Her suitcase contained a drawing board. Though it was heavy, the inspiration she felt at that moment wiped away any fatigue.

It was getting late, so they agreed to start drawing the next day and followed the director’s instructions to go downstairs and meet the others.

With the two of them, all six guests were now present. The two regular cast members were outgoing and greeted them warmly. The remaining two guest stars were currently leading a popular TV drama and were excited to meet them.

“Teacher Lin, Teacher An, I’m Chen Qi, I’m your… fan!” the female guest said, standing up excitedly. She paused before changing “CP fan” to just “fan.”

An Yu and Lin Duxi exchanged a smile.

“Thank you,” they said.

Chen Qi shook their hands, trying to contain her excitement, and returned to her seat.

Once everyone was seated, one of the regular cast members began explaining the plan for the next few days.

“We’ll tour the local scenery, visit historical and cultural sites, and showcase the culture. The most important thing is for viewers to see the beauty of the landscape,” he summarized in one sentence.

An Yu raised an eyebrow.

During lunch, everyone chatted and got familiar with each other. An Yu wasn’t particularly interested in small talk but responded politely when addressed, which led to some enjoyable conversations.

Just as she finished talking with Chen Qi and was about to take a sip of soup, she felt an itch at her waist. She looked down but saw nothing. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Lin Duxi’s indifferent gaze.

An Yu felt a sudden stroke of inspiration. She put down her spoon and reached for Lin Duxi’s hand, which was resting by her side.

Lin Duxi deliberately tried to avoid her, but after several attempts, she softened and allowed An Yu to intertwine their fingers.

She kept her eyes on her food, but the faint jealousy and annoyance she had felt was gently smoothed over by An Yu’s touch.

The conversation at the table continued, but the two’s clasped hands were discreetly captured by the camera.

Also witnessing it closely was Chen Qi, who, as a CP fan, paid special attention to every little gesture between An Yu and Lin Duxi. Seeing this small act made her even more ecstatic.

She covered her mouth to hide her huge, knowing smile, her heart racing with excitement.
