- Chapter 4 - Marriage: As You Wish
“What?”
Tracy’s request was like a thunderclap to him.
Adonis’s black antennae stood up in shock. The Mantis-tribe Major General appeared completely at a loss when faced with such a confession, looking like a pitiful, dazed fool.
Tracy found him even cuter for it.
He touched his chin and asked, looking piteously at the other, “Are you not willing?”
No female would ever refuse a clear invitation from a male.
Adonis could not understand how such an unconventional male could exist in the world.
He did not despise the scent of his pheromones, he was not afraid of the blood-red medals that symbolized his danger, and he was even taking the initiative to show favor.
Adonis fell silent.
He took a sip of lemonade; it was so sour it made his teeth ache.
He also sobered up a little.
Perhaps he is here for my money.
“Since you are willing,” Adonis began, “it is my honor, my Lord.”
“But I must clarify first that I may not be as wealthy as you expect.”
Adonis raised his eyes. “My blind date with you cost me one million contribution points. I am very poor right now.”
“It does not matter.” Hearing this, Tracy felt even more apologetic.
He was a pauper himself.
If it were not for the fact that meeting him had vaporized one million contribution points, the female in front of him would have been considered quite wealthy.
Poverty caused by marriage.
Tracy could not help but feel a little embarrassed.
“Although the fee for my blind date was a bit expensive, I will definitely make you feel satisfied.”
Tracy flicked his tail hook as if to prove his grand claim.
In his original world, he was a total homebody who liked nothing but fictional characters.
But for his first blind date, he had matched with a handsome man who had broad shoulders, a wasp waist, and long legs. He felt he was quite lucky.
Although it was rumored that this cool guy had a somewhat bad temper and they might need time to adjust to each other, after meeting him in person, he felt things were not too bad at all.
“My house is also very small,” Adonis emphasized. “I moved out of the family estate after coming of age.”
Adonis curved his antennae. Because he had never thought a male would ever move in, he added, “The room is only 180 square meters. There is no lawn, and no private garden.”
“180 square meters!” Tracy’s eyes lit up. “How many rooms does it have?”
“Only two.” Adonis’s voice was somewhat strained.
This really was not much to brag about.
Males all liked to live in manors.
But he did not notice the gaze in Tracy’s eyes slowly turning into excitement.
“That is simply fantastic!” When Tracy was on Blue Star, he had always wanted a room of his own, but his family was poor, and he had not had much savings.
So, after making his first pot of gold as an influencer, the first thing he thought of was buying a house.
He had already looked at one: south-facing, with a small garden downstairs. Although there was only a pool of stagnant green water in the center, it was, in a real sense, the first house that belonged to him.
He had originally planned to go look for a relationship once he had a home of his own, but before the plan could be implemented, he arrived in this brand-new world.
Life on the Trash Star had been even more miserable.
Jonah, who worked as a bar thug, was just a bottom-tier female selling his labor, and he still had to raise a delicate and sickly male child. The family did not have a single cent in savings.
Tracy had eaten chaff and drank sewage-tainted water. He had felt that his life had absolutely no meaning.
Watching as he was about to starve the child to death, Jonah had painstakingly fixed the broken terminal his father had left behind. Only then did Tracy pick up his old profession and start streaming, earning a little money to improve their lives. It was precisely because of this that the Kahn family had found their long-lost male bloodline.
Therefore, Tracy really had not lived through many good days. Hearing that his future female lord had a 180-square-meter luxury home was simply an unexpected delight.
What a great life males had: getting a wife and being assigned a house!
Tracy was so moved he was about to tear up.
Although the darkness of the past twenty years was mostly due to his need to hide his status as a male, Tracy did not blame Old Dad Jonah.
That was the best choice on the Trash Star. If his identity had been exposed back then, he might have had ten thousand ways to die, only to be packaged as a gift and tossed onto the beds of various females. He would never have had the choice he had now.
“Then it is settled, Adonis.” After the glass of lemonade hit the bottom, Tracy stood up, wanting to toast with this female. He stood up clumsily, becoming completely different from his initial poised demeanor.
He looked like a callow, green boy.
“I am very satisfied with you. I hope we can get married soon.” Tracy raised his glass.
“Our young master is also very satisfied with you!” A yellow Bee-tribe member popped out from somewhere. As if afraid that Tracy might run away, he eagerly replied, “Our Kelson family will certainly provide the utmost sincerity to facilitate this family alliance!”
“Are you sure you do not want to reconsider?” The Major General pushed the scout bee away, his expression turning somewhat pale.
“Do you have any difficulties?” Tracy tilted his head.
He did not like to force others.
The Major General looked as though he really did have some hidden difficulty, but his gaze only remained fixed on Tracy’s face for a few seconds.
Tracy heard a soft sigh.
“As you wish, my Lord.” The female raised his lemonade, clinked glasses with him, and drank it all in one gulp.
“Three days from now, we get married.”
“Your blind date really succeeded?” Florson looked at him in disbelief.
He had originally planned to just withhold the 200,000 deposit and call it a day, never expecting such an unexpected delight.
“Were you not shaking with fear from his pheromones?” Seeing Tracy return in one piece, Florson still could not believe it.
He touched Tracy’s neck and inspected his tail hook, examining him thoroughly from head to toe, but he did not find any signs of Tracy being mentally wilted.
“Pheromones?” Tracy touched his nose, still a bit unaccustomed to this sudden concern.
He had not smelled anything related to pheromones because he had used olfactory-numbing spray in advance.
But if he were to sniff carefully, he could indeed smell a trace of them.
He had also sensed from the reactions of the females around him that the other party’s pheromones were indeed quite intimidating.
The scent was too unique.
It was a bit like… the Trash Star he had lived on for twelve years?
But that familiar stinky water scent gave him a sense of familiarity, which, on the contrary, had drawn them closer.
As for the scent of his own true pheromones…
He really did not know.
It was said that the pheromones of top-tier females indeed had a suppressive effect just like their mental power, which would make other bugs feel weak and dizzy.
“I sprayed olfactory-numbing spray beforehand,” Tracy added.
“No wonder.” The male Florson understood.
That explained it.
Florson looked at his cheap nephew with a hint of pity.
A male’s sense of smell was always extremely acute. If they had to use such methods as olfactory-numbing spray because of a female, it was too shameful. Especially since they would be living in the same room from now on!
Always relying on external objects to block pheromone suppression was just too miserable.
But bugs from small places had never seen the world. He did not know that one day of endurance was fine, but living with a female long-term, that persistent, lingering fear would make them feel so uncomfortable.
However, over time, males had their own set of ways to deal with this type of mismatched-rank marriage.
Florson watched the one million contribution points hit his card, his mood excellent.
He looked at his cheap nephew with even more gentleness.
At least he had not been scared into weak knees or made any disgraceful moves in front of the female due to the weakness of a D-grade male, thus preserving the face of their Kahn family.
“Spraying olfactory-numbing spray is not a long-term solution,” Florson frowned. “Since when do males need to force themselves to suffer?”
Tracy was a bit baffled.
He did not feel like he was suffering.
But Florson obviously did not think so.
He thought for a moment, and a mysterious smile curled the corner of his lips.
Florson patted Tracy’s shoulder. “Uncle will send you a big gift. Use it well; it will certainly ensure you are not suppressed by that female.”
