- Chapter 36 - So cute, I wanna...
Xian Ning heard the roar of a beast, followed by a violent gust of wind. Qin Rong pulled her into her arms, shielding her from the gale that could have sent a person flying. Then, with a few leaps, they changed position.
“Looks like she’s quite fond of you.” A cryptic sentence came from somewhere near her ear.
Xian Ning felt something wet drip onto her face. It was warm and sticky, with a faint metallic scent.
Was Qin Rong hurt?
Xian Ning clutched her clothes, her voice full of urgency. “Are you hurt?”
Qin Rong glanced down at a scratch on her cheek. With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, she said, “With your dear elder sister going for the kill, how could I not be?”
Xian Ning grew even more worried. She reached out to touch Qin Rong’s face, but Qin Rong subtly avoided her.
“Save your flirting for when we’re out of here. Your dear elder sister is coming for us again.”
As soon as she finished speaking, another roar echoed through the air. Xian Ning felt a sense of weightlessness, followed by a series of cracking sounds. It must have been a collapsing roof beam. Fan Hua was truly trying to kill them.
With Qin Rong repeatedly escaping its grasp, the snow leopard felt as if it was being toyed with. It let out a frenzied roar, its golden eyes turning sharp, and its movements became even more agile. Although Qin Rong was fast, holding Xian Ning was a bit of a handicap. Each time, she narrowly avoided the snow leopard’s claws and fangs. Xian Ning could even hear its heavy breathing close by.
Fan Hua stopped in mid-air, facing off against Qin Rong. “I’ll say this one more time: let her go.”
A corner of Qin Rong’s lip lifted into a sarcastic smile. “Is making her forget the things you did the only way you know how to keep her?”
Fan Hua’s face changed in an instant, her eyes filled with murderous intent. Her long braids whipped through the air, and with the snow leopard, they formed a pincer attack.
Xian Ning also sensed the situation was getting dire. “Qin Rong, put me down. You’ll get hurt.”
Qin Rong chuckled, sounding like she was in a good mood. “What’s this? Are you worried about me?”
Xian Ning was at a loss for words. How could someone be so casual with their own life? This was a madwoman!
Seeing the worry on her face, Qin Rong’s smile grew wider. A crimson hue bled into her eyes, completely overtaking her black pupils.
She held Xian Ning with one arm. The immortal sword in her hand was now entwined with a dark, demonic energy, and its once cold and pure glow turned sinister.
Fan Hua saw this and let out a cold laugh. “So the rumors were true. You’ve become a demon.” Her voice was filled with ridicule and disdain. “The genius of the Immortal Sect has fallen to the demonic path. How ridiculous.”
Qin Rong laughed, too, but her laughter was for Fan Hua’s foolishness. She swung her immortal sword, sending a wave of chaotic sword energy mixed with demonic power toward the snow leopard and Fan Hua. The two couldn’t withstand it and were sent flying backward, landing hard on the ground.
Qin Rong stood on a large locust tree outside the courtyard, her gaze fixed on Fan Hua. “Out of respect for our past, I won’t kill you. But the next time we meet, it’ll be you or me.” Good and evil were never meant to coexist. She was of the righteous path, and Fan Hua was of the demonic one. Even without all this, a final battle between them was inevitable.
Just as Qin Rong was about to leave, Fan Hua called out, “Xian Ning, are you really going with her?”
Xian Ning, still worried about Qin Rong, was taken aback by the question. It seemed that ever since she met Qin Rong, she hadn’t had a choice but to follow her. But Fan Hua was her savior. Was it wrong to just leave her like this?
Seeing her hesitate, Qin Rong’s eyes grew colder. She leaned in, her teeth gritted as she spoke softly into Xian Ning’s ear. “Think carefully. Are you going with me or staying with her?” Without waiting for an answer, she added, “If you choose her, I’ll kill you both.”
Then just tell me I can only choose you! Why even ask? Xian Ning thought to herself.
“I’ll go with you,” she whispered.
A satisfied smile appeared on Qin Rong’s face. She looked at Fan Hua and said triumphantly, “What a shame. She says she’s coming with me.”
Fan Hua gritted her teeth. “Xian Ning, have you forgotten? I saved you from the brink of death when you were at your last breath. How could you…”
Xian Ning began to waver again. Qin Rong’s expression turned even colder than before. Her immortal sword broke free from her hand, its clear ringing sound pointing straight at Fan Hua’s face.
“Fan Hua, don’t you find it laughable to say such a thing? If you hadn’t put that curse on her, preventing her from cultivating, how would Jing Ji have gotten to her? Ultimately, you are the one to blame for all of this.”
At the mention of “the forgetting spell,” a loud ringing filled Xian Ning’s head, followed by a torrent of sharp, stabbing pain. It was as if thousands of needles were piercing deep into her brain. She felt like she had been plunged into freezing water, her bones aching with a chilling pain that threatened to drive her insane.
Sensing that Xian Ning was in distress, Qin Rong immediately began to channel her spiritual energy into her, but it did little to help. The curse had been in place for too long. A little bit of power wouldn’t be enough to suppress it. In this situation, Xian Ning would have to endure the pain on her own.
Within moments, Xian Ning was drenched in a cold sweat. Her clothes clung to her body, making her seem even smaller. She was not a short person, but the pain was so immense that she curled into a little ball in Qin Rong’s arms.
Fan Hua was speechless. Seizing the opportunity, she tried to sneak an attack on a distracted Qin Rong, but she was startled by Xian Ning, who had suddenly opened her eyes.
“What were you hoping to get from me, going to all this trouble to put a curse on me?” Her voice was devoid of warmth, and she didn’t call her “Senior Sister.” The coldness in her eyes tore at Fan Hua’s heart, leaving her breathless. She stood frozen, a self-deprecating smile on her face.
Yeah, what was it all for? She had done so many terrible things and used the person she loved, but in the end, her father still didn’t acknowledge her and crippled her cultivation for someone else’s mistake. It seemed her entire life had been a joke. If she hadn’t lost half her cultivation, she wouldn’t have lost to Qin Rong. But even if she had won, Xian Ning wouldn’t have stayed with her.
Xian Ning was exhausted after saying those words. She buried her face in Qin Rong’s chest. “Let’s go,” she said in a muffled voice. In her current state, and with Qin Rong injured, fighting would only lead to a mutual defeat. It was better to leave this place first. There would be plenty of time to settle the score with Fan Hua later.
Her head was still pounding, but the memories of what happened before the curse were now crystal clear. Fan Hua had saved her, then strengthened the curse, which made her completely forget she had been afflicted by it, causing her to view Fan Hua as her savior. Looking back, was Fan Hua hiding her identity because of her position, or was it out of shame for the curse she had placed on her?
She couldn’t find a reason, so she gave up on trying. Xian Ning snuggled deeper into Qin Rong’s embrace, forcing herself to fall asleep so she wouldn’t feel the pain anymore.

Qin Rong flew back to the Jade Purity Sect on her sword. She ran into Li Zhao, who was on his way to the main peak to cultivate. Li Zhao saw Xian Ning in her arms and didn’t say anything, but he did stop the other disciples who were about to head up the mountain and sent them on a different path.
Qin Rong took Xian Ning to her quarters. She pushed open the door to reveal a large cage with a soft bed inside.
“Since you don’t want to stay with me, this is the only way.”
As if sensing something, Xian Ning rubbed against her. She whimpered softly. Qin Rong looked down and kissed her forehead, a sick smile on her face.
*******
The next morning, Xian Ning was awakened by the chirping of birds. She opened her eyes to see wooden bars above her and was momentarily bewildered. Am I still dreaming? She closed her eyes again and fell back asleep.
When she woke up again, the sun was already setting. A beam of warm yellow light fell on her face, and the comfortable warmth made her want to just stay in bed forever. The view above her hadn’t changed. She looked around and realized she was in a cage. Aside from the cage, everything else looked familiar. It was Qin Rong’s bedroom. So Qin Rong had brought her back to Jade Purity Peak and put her in a cage.
A giant question mark appeared in her mind. Xian Ning tried to prop herself up, but her elbow slipped, and she fell back into the bedding. The strength had been drained from her body. All she felt was a deep ache in her limbs. She obediently lay there, waiting for her strength to return. As she looked around, she noticed something even more important: she could see.
Her mind went blank for a long time before she slowly regained the ability to think. Her vision had indeed returned, and it was perfectly clear. There was no longer a layer of white fog over her eyes. Was her vision also a side effect of the curse of forgetfulness? Now that she remembered, her sight had returned?
She was so lost in thought that she didn’t notice someone had entered the room. Qin Rong stood outside the cage, watching her with a crazed, dark look in her eyes as if she wanted to devour her.
The light dimmed. Xian Ning turned her head and saw Qin Rong looking at her. That look of obsession and madness made her breath catch in her throat, and her heart began to beat wildly. No wonder she put me in a cage. She’s completely lost her mind.
“Junior Sister, can I get out?”
Qin Rong opened the cage door and crawled inside, naturally lying down next to her. She pulled the covers over them and held Xian Ning close. “Of course not. What if you try to run away again?”
Xian Ning listened to her possessive tone and knew there was no getting through to her. She tried a different tactic. “Then how am I supposed to use the restroom?”
Qin Rong nibbled on her earlobe, her voice low. “Little Senior Sister needs to relieve herself? Then just go right here.”
Xian Ning was about to call her a pervert when she felt a hand slip under the covers and slowly move downward. She’s crazy! She’s serious!
Qin Rong’s hand stopped. “Go on,” she said. “Didn’t you need to use the restroom?”
Xian Ning pushed her with both hands, her voice panicked. “No, no, I don’t need to anymore! You can let go!”
“No way.” Qin Rong grabbed her hand and kissed it. “That would be uncomfortable. How could I let my little Senior Sister be uncomfortable?” With that, she began to get to work. It didn’t matter what Xian Ning said. Her resistance had no effect on Qin Rong. If anything, it was an aphrodisiac for her.
Tears welled in the corners of Xian Ning’s eyes, and Qin Rong licked them away. She whimpered softly to show her displeasure, and Qin Rong’s mouth took hers in a kiss. She was already drained of all her strength, so she could only submit to Qin Rong’s every whim.
It’s still daylight. We just woke up and… Is this a little too much? The thought passed quickly, and her mind became a haze from the rapid, rhythmic movements. Soon, all that was left was a blank canvas.
Qin Rong let her go just before she lost consciousness, a satisfied look on her face as she looked at Xian Ning’s swollen lips and flushed eyes. She pulled Xian Ning into a hug and whispered into her ear, “Why aren’t you going anymore, little Senior Sister? Was I not serving you well?”
At that, Xian Ning’s sanity returned. “I don’t need to go anymore. Just stop…” The intense thrusts shattered her voice.
Her slender neck arched back. The veins under her delicate skin were clearly visible. Qin Rong’s eyes darkened when she saw them. Xian Ning was completely unaware of the danger. She was breathing with her mouth open. Her neck was suddenly bitten, and the pain only came after her blood was swallowed.
A flash of red passed through Qin Rong’s eyes. The dark pupils were now surrounded by a bloody color, like red gems, dazzling and beautiful.
“Qin Rong, stop… no… don’t…”
Qin Rong’s speed increased with every word Xian Ning uttered, making it impossible for her to say a complete sentence. The continuous onslaught of pleasure and pain made Xian Ning’s body tremble. Tears that welled in her eyes now clung to her lashes. Qin Rong leaned in and licked them away. Xian Ning instinctively whimpered, a soft, weak sound like a kitten.
Qin Rong’s playful side came out. Every time Xian Ning’s breathing quickened, she would slow down. After teasing her over and over, Xian Ning realized her cruel game and began to cry in frustration.
“How… how could you… do this?”
Whether it was from her sobs or something else, her words were broken, and her voice sounded more like she was whining than scolding.
Qin Rong leaned in. Their bodies were pressed tightly together, their hearts beating powerfully against their chests, in a rhythmic dance. “You don’t like this?”
Xian Ning gave her a resentful glare. Qin Rong’s heart skipped a beat. Her wrist moved faster. “Then what do you want me to do?” She kissed Xian Ning’s cheek, her voice loving. “Tell me what you want.”
How could Xian Ning say it? She stared at Qin Rong for a moment and then turned her face away in shame. This dog-like person just wanted to see her flustered. She wouldn’t give her the satisfaction.
Qin Rong looked at her childish tantrum, a smile on her face. What am I going to do? She’s so cute. I want to…
Her mind was made up. This time, Xian Ning gave in quickly. Her stomach trembled, her legs clenched without her wanting them to, and her feet pointed. Tears blurred her eyes, and she couldn’t focus.
Qin Rong was very pleased with her masterpiece. She stared at Xian Ning without blinking, her eyes filled with a possessive darkness and a storm of desire.
It took a while for Xian Ning to regain her senses. She looked up and met Qin Rong’s possessive gaze, almost getting lost in them. It took her a long time to find her voice. “Is that enough for now?” she asked hoarsely.
Qin Rong gave her a light peck on the lips, her voice laced with laughter. “Little Senior Sister, aren’t you the one who hasn’t had enough?”
Just as Xian Ning opened her mouth, Qin Rong held up her wet hand in front of her. “Is this considered relieved? I don’t think so.”
Xian Ning’s face was on fire. She had spent decades in the martial arts world without ever losing her composure, but today, she was utterly defeated. “I lied. I don’t need to use the restroom. So just stop.”
Qin Rong looked at her as if to say, “I knew it,” and the smile on her face deepened, taking on a strange, dangerous quality. “Lying isn’t a good habit. It needs to be corrected as soon as possible.”
With that, she flipped over and kissed Xian Ning’s lips. Her mouth still had a faint taste of blood. As their lips and tongues intertwined, the sweet and metallic taste filled her mouth. It thinned and disappeared as her saliva mixed with it. When the kiss ended, she moved lower to Xian Ning’s neck, gently biting and licking the small wounds she had made, leaving behind a mess of hickeys and teeth marks.
Xian Ning’s limbs went weak. She tried to push Qin Rong away, but her efforts were in vain. Qin Rong lowered her head, her lips grazing her collarbone, her chest, her soft curves, her stomach…
Xian Ning’s entire body went rigid from the hot breath on her most sensitive parts. She put her hands on Qin Rong’s head, trying to make her move away. They had just… how could they…
Qin Rong looked up at her, a deep red surrounding her dark pupils. “This isn’t enough. Do you want me to get even closer?” With that, she bit down. Xian Ning’s lashes trembled. Her hands were still trying to push her away. “No, go away…” She tried her best to control her ragged breathing so she wouldn’t make a sound.
Qin Rong did as she pleased. She was only teasing Xian Ning with her words. She would do this regardless of whether she wanted it or not. Unlike with her hands, the touch was more intimate and the mental experience more intense. Just the thought of what Qin Rong was doing was enough to make her heart tremble.
She kept trying to escape, looking for a way out. But Qin Rong wasn’t going to let her. She held Xian Ning’s slender waist, stopping her from moving.
Soon, everything began to feel right. Xian Ning felt conflicted. Part of her felt she shouldn’t give in, but the other part had to give herself over to this. Her slender fingers, as pale as green onion, intertwined with Qin Rong’s dark hair, making the intimate scene even more enchanting and sensual.
Qin Rong took a moment to look at her. Seeing Xian Ning’s face, completely lost in the moment, the desire in her eyes grew darker and more obsessive. Just give in to this. Even if you don’t love me, just fall for the feeling of our bodies becoming one. That way, you’ll never want to leave me.
Xian Ning felt something was about to give. She quickly reached out to push Qin Rong away. Qin Rong thought she was just being contrary again and didn’t move. Xian Ning began to panic. “Qin Rong, hurry and let…”
The rest of her words were drowned out by the sound of water rushing down a mountain stream. Xian Ning’s eyes rolled back. Fireworks went off in her head, one after another. All the sensations in her body seemed to converge in one place. It took a while for the mix of pleasure and shame to reach her brain.
The onslaught of conflicting emotions caused tears to stream down Xian Ning’s face. She cried like a little baby. Qin Rong couldn’t stand to see her cry. She immediately hugged her and comforted her, kissing and rubbing her face. When she tried to kiss her on the lips, Xian Ning turned her head away.
“You just… no!”
Qin Rong was taken aback. “Are you even disgusted with yourself?”
Xian Ning turned away in a huff, tears flying from her lashes. The red on her cheeks, combined with the single tear trailing down her face, made her look incredibly delicate and beautiful. Qin Rong cupped her chin and kissed her, deepening the kiss to share the taste in her mouth.
“Was it sweet?”
Xian Ning was so angry. “No, it wasn’t! It was bitter!”
“I thought it was sweet,” Qin Rong whispered in her ear. “It was your taste. How could it not be sweet?”
Xian Ning’s face burned. Soon, her sanity was about to be burned away. She thought to herself, This little monster is truly a master of seduction.
Qin Rong held her close, kissing her on the ears, cheeks, and the corners of her lips, as if she couldn’t get enough of her. She wanted to knead Xian Ning into her own body and become one with her.
Xian Ning was utterly exhausted. She was like a soulless puppet doll, letting Qin Rong do whatever she wanted. She stared blankly at a lantern-like flower on the ceiling of the cage, wanting to ask something, but she was too lazy to open her mouth. So she just lay there like a fish without a purpose.
After a long cuddle session, Qin Rong cast a cleansing spell, making Xian Ning clean and fresh. Then she got up to prepare a meal for her. Xian Ning sat up, holding the blanket, and watched Qin Rong expertly lock the cage door. Her brows slowly furrowed.
“Are you really going to keep me as a pet?”
Qin Rong glanced at her, her eyes so dark it was impossible to tell what she was feeling. “Yes.” She turned and walked toward the door. Just as she was about to step out, her legs went weak, and she grabbed onto the door frame. Several claw marks appeared on the wood. The red in her eyes flickered, and she gritted her teeth against the pain. The veins on her forehead and neck bulged, and her face was covered in a fine sheen of sweat.
The demonic energy was beginning to take its toll. Soon, she would become a monster with no sanity, neither a demon nor an immortal.
