- Chapter 7 - Splattering Honey
Obedient?
Yu Keqing’s lips twitched into a bitter, desolate smile. Had she not been obedient enough? Yet Lin Sheng had never once thought of letting her go.
Was death the only thing that would finally satisfy Lin Sheng?
But she couldn’t die. She still had Xiaobao to take care of. Lin Sheng had detested Xiaobao so much in the past; she certainly wouldn’t love the child now. If even Yu Keqing were gone, there was no telling where Lin Sheng would send Xiaobao away to.
Since she had stumbled into this world by some cosmic mistake, she had to bear the consequences of the seeds she had sown. She couldn’t bring herself to abandon Xiaobao. That was her own child, after all. She couldn’t harden her heart enough to do it, so she would rather endure the suffering herself.
“Alright,” she softly complied.
A sudden wave of tenderness washed over Lin Sheng. She bent her finger to gently stroke Yu Keqing’s face, lingering there, seemingly unable to pull her hand away.
“If you had just been like this from the beginning, everything would have been fine. Why did you have to throw a tantrum and make yourself sick?”
“I’m sorry. It was my own lack of tact.”
It was the first time Yu Keqing had ever spoken to Lin Sheng in such a tone. It sounded grating and defensive, making Lin Sheng feel deeply uncomfortable as her brow furrowed slightly.
Still, considering she had kept Yu Keqing locked in the room for several days, it was normal for her to harbor some resentment and speak with a bit of a bite. Showing rare magnanimity, Lin Sheng chose not to press the issue and instead pulled Yu Keqing into her arms.
As those hands began to wander across her body, Yu Keqing could not suppress the deep-seated terror inside her. She still trembled with fear at Lin Sheng’s intimacy.
The intoxicating scent of roses felt more like a poison, leaving her completely weak and at Lin Sheng’s mercy.
“I want to see Xiaobao,” she gathered the courage to make the request again.
Lin Sheng licked away the tear at the corner of Yu Keqing’s eye. The faint, barely perceptible scent of sandalwood from Yu Keqing caused Lin Sheng’s cheeks to flush a deep, radiant crimson, making her look strikingly beautiful.
“You can,” Lin Sheng murmured, taking Yu Keqing’s earlobe into her mouth as her burning, intoxicating breath invaded her ear. “But you have to… please me.”
To see Xiaobao sooner and to escape this room, Yu Keqing had no choice but to submit. Closing her eyes, her hands shook as she reached out to touch that supple, flexible waist, pulling out the hem of the shirt that had been tucked into Lin Sheng’s pencil skirt.
She had heard people say before that top-tier Omegas had incredibly high sex drives. Was Lin Sheng’s current reaction what they meant by high?
Aside from Lin Sheng, she had never had contact with any other Omega, so she had no way of verifying if that theory was true.
If she pulled her hand away now, would Lin Sheng force her to continue, just like the previous few times?
She would. She absolutely would.
Staring blankly at Lin Sheng, who was kneeling by the edge of the bed, Yu Keqing spoke as if possessed: “Unlock the chain on my ankle.”
Caught in the throes of agonizing desire, Lin Sheng’s beautiful eyes were clouded with intense lust, her breathing ragged and heavy.
“Alright.” Even her voice carried the heavy fragrance of roses, a tangled web of desire that tugged at one’s heartstrings.
She hadn’t expected Lin Sheng to be so easy to negotiate with this time. Yu Keqing swallowed hard in nervousness, her fingers twitching.
Lin Sheng softened her spine, her skin white as snow, her gaze fixed on Yu Keqing with pure seduction.
A Lin Sheng like this was beautiful, so beautiful it was intoxicating. In the past, if Lin Sheng had knelt before her like this to entice her, Yu Keqing would have been ecstatic. She would have offered up everything she owned, bared her heart and soul for Lin Sheng to see, and touched her with the utmost care, terrified of breaking such a precious treasure.
But now, her heart held nothing but desolation. The place where she used to cherish the rose was overgrown with weeds; the fragrance was long gone.
“You can’t lock me away anymore. You have to let me go outside.” Emboldened by Lin Sheng’s delirious state of passion, Yu Keqing pushed further and made two more demands.
Like a radiant rose swaying its stem under Yu Keqing’s clumsy, rigid touch, Lin Sheng abandoned herself entirely to pleasure. A splattering of honeyed fluids soaked into the dark fabric below.
Desperate to get Lin Sheng to agree without any chance of backing out, Yu Keqing subconsciously applied more pressure.
Lin Sheng trembled even more violently, her hands gripping Yu Keqing’s shoulders tightly. Her nails dug into the thin layer of flesh over the shoulder blades, causing a sharp sting of pain.
Yu Keqing’s body tensed up.
Lin Sheng leaned over to kiss her, messy, urgent, and completely devoid of technique.
Yet, amidst the chaotic, demanding embrace, Yu Keqing heard the exact answer she wanted.
“I promise you, I promise you everything.” Lin Sheng’s mind was completely unraveled; she would give Yu Keqing whatever she wanted right now.
Yu Keqing let out a sigh of relief and made her final demand. “Let Xiaobao live with me.”
Lin Sheng lifted her waist and hips. “What else is there, my little ancestor? Say it all at once, and I’ll agree to it all.”
“Nothing else. Just this.” She didn’t dare mention taking Xiaobao and leaving just yet, fearing she would enrage Lin Sheng all over again.
Lin Sheng could no longer endure the delay. “Then focus on finishing what’s in front of you. Make me feel good, and I’ll give you the stars in the sky if you want them.”
Yu Keqing stopped speaking. She lowered her gaze, her eyes falling upon the swaying, pale flesh before her.
The bedroom was entirely consumed by the scent of roses; her own sandalwood scent was light, faint, and utterly unnoticeable.
The bouquet of daisies that had been trampled into the ground remained scattered on the floor. Having nowhere else to look, Yu Keqing chose to focus her gaze on those yellow petals.
Following Lin Sheng’s desires, she left hickeys and fingerprints across that beautiful body.
When Lin Sheng wrapped her legs around Yu Keqing’s waist, pinning her to the corner of the bed and asking, “When are you going to mark me?” Yu Keqing met the question with absolute silence.
She would never mark Lin Sheng again. Xiaobao was already miserable enough, she didn’t want to bring another innocent life into this world to suffer alongside her. Lin Sheng could choose to be irresponsible, but she couldn’t.
Having achieved a temporary sense of gratification, Lin Sheng stared at her quietly for a long moment before finally letting her go. “If not now, then we’ll talk about it later.”
Miraculously, Lin Sheng had become remarkably easygoing.
Yu Keqing slowly propped herself up on the bed and pulled her clothes together. Her fingers were so devoid of strength that she failed several times just trying to fasten her buttons.
Lin Sheng knelt beside her, personally doing up her buttons before pressing a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth.
The scab on Yu Keqing’s lip had torn open long ago, the sharp stinging sensation constantly pricking at her nerves, though she paid it no mind.
“You’re too thin, and you have no strength.” Lin Sheng took her hand, her damp tongue sliding across Yu Keqing’s fingers.
The lingering scent of honey. Lin Sheng’s own scent, still coated them.
Uncomfortable, Yu Keqing tried to pull her hand back, turning her face away in silence.
Things she wouldn’t have dared to dream of in the past were now happening in reality, and they had happened multiple times.
She could touch Lin Sheng’s body at will, and far from being angry, Lin Sheng actually enjoyed it, completely losing herself in it.
But Yu Keqing constantly reminded herself not to take any of this to heart. Lin Sheng’s submission to her definitely came with an ulterior motive. A trap was undoubtedly laid out somewhere ahead, waiting for her to fall into it. She wasn’t a clever person, but after suffering so many losses, she had to at least learn her lesson.
The old Lin Sheng would look at her with utter disgust and snap: Don’t come near me, you’re filthy.
Yet the current Lin Sheng gripped her wrist and whispered in her ear. Want me.
How could she possibly dare to believe it? Unless she was looking to get slapped in the face by Lin Sheng all over again.
The star-shaped hickey on Yu Keqing’s collarbone caught Lin Sheng’s eye, instantly stirring up another wave of desire. Even Lin Sheng couldn’t remember exactly when she had become so obsessed with Yu Keqing. The mere thought of her made her ache for intimacy.
The physical exertion left Yu Keqing’s body utterly exhausted, and she soon drifted off to sleep.
When she woke up, Lin Sheng was no longer beside her. Only the fragrant scent of roses remained tangled in the air. Moving her limbs, Yu Keqing realized the heavy metallic weight around her ankle was gone. She immediately flung the blanket aside to check, terrified it was just an illusion.
She looked and touched the area repeatedly, the chain was truly gone.
Sitting on the bed, she covered her face and wept.
She had traded the last of her dignity for her freedom.
The tiny wound on her lip had scabbed over once again, carrying the cool scent of medicinal ointment. Lin Sheng must have applied it for her while she was asleep.
Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, Yu Keqing raised her hand to touch the scabbed wound, her fingertips lingering there for a long time.
The face in the mirror was entirely ordinary, a round, upturned nose with practically no bridge, average sized eyes, and sparse eyebrows. Her complexion was a sickly, pale color, and her fine, thin hair was tinged with a yellowish hue from malnutrition.
She wasn’t particularly tall, standing at about the same height as Lin Sheng. If Lin Sheng wore high heels, she would tower over her. Lin Sheng’s beauty had never needed an ugly duckling like her for contrast; Lin Sheng was inherently beautiful, a natural-born queen.
“Are you going to take a bath now?” Lin Sheng entered at some unknown point, wrapping her arms around Yu Keqing’s waist from behind.
A weight settled on her shoulder as Lin Sheng rested her chin there. As Lin Sheng’s hands slid upward beneath her clothes, finding emptiness, Yu Keqing hunched her shoulders as much as possible to avoid the teasing touch.
“Answer me, are you bathing now?”
She nodded obediently, not daring to make eye contact with Lin Sheng through the mirror, keeping her head low. Lin Sheng immediately bit her on the back of the neck.
“I’ll draw the bathwater for you. Take a good soak before coming downstairs to eat. I had them make your favorite dishes.”
She silently complied with the arrangement.
Hot water rushed into the bathtub. Lin Sheng sat sideways on the edge, leaning down to stir the water a few times with her hand.
After a moment, Lin Sheng shook the water from her hand and said, “It’s ready. Take off your clothes.”
Yu Keqing placed her hands on her buttons, trembling as she stripped off her clothes. Under Lin Sheng’s unblinking gaze, she stepped into the bathtub, submerging her bare body into the hot water.
Lin Sheng pulled her closer and wrapped her hair in a towel.
The fragrant bath essence created layers of bubbles in the water. Yu Keqing curled up amidst the foam, her hickey covered body half-hidden. Her sensitive earlobe fell between Lin Sheng’s fingers, gently rubbed back and forth until it turned bright red, vivid as a gemstone.
She pursed her lips, remaining completely silent.
Soon after, Lin Sheng hooked her chin, pressing her rose scented lips down and transferring the fragrance straight into Yu Keqing’s mouth.
Every single one of her firsts had been taken by Lin Sheng, even kissing.
The forced encounters from the previous days constituted her first kiss, she still didn’t even know how to properly catch her breath.
As a sense of suffocation washed over her, she instinctively splashed the water. The foam and hot water splattered, dampening the purple silk robe Lin Sheng was wearing.
Lin Sheng licked Yu Keqing’s wet lips with lingering desire. “Alright, get out now.”
Having been unable to leave the room for several days, she felt a wave of trance like disbelief the moment she stepped out the door.
When she reached downstairs, she noticed that the person cooking was no longer the previous auntie.
Lin Sheng pulled out a chair to signal for her to sit down, delivering a piece of good news. “I’ve already had them clear out Xiaobao’s room. We’ll bring her over tomorrow.”
Joy flared in her heart, and she asked urgently, “Can we bring her over today?”
The last time, Lin Sheng had also promised her ‘tomorrow,’ only to go back on her word later. She was terrified that Lin Sheng would break her promise again, leaving her unable to see her daughter.
Since the day Lin Sheng locked her up here, she had only seen Xiaobao twice. No matter how she asked or begged, Lin Sheng refused to tell her about Xiaobao’s situation, only saying that the child went to school every day and telling her not to worry.
Without seeing her daughter safe and sound with her own eyes, how could she not worry?
Lin Sheng pushed a delicate soup bowl in front of her and said, “You’ve been sick twice in a row these past few days, and your complexion looks very haggard. Xiaobao will worry if she sees you like this. It’s better to get a good night’s rest first, and let you two reunite tomorrow when you look a bit better.”
Yu Keqing lowered her eyes in disappointment. “Alright. Thank you.”
Pushing the matter further might displease Lin Sheng, which would make it even harder to see Xiaobao.
It was just one night. She could endure it, she could wait.
They ate the meal in silence. Afterward, she was allowed to play with Tuantuan for a little while.
Tuantuan didn’t seem to want to eat the specially prepared dog food, and only sniffed at two pieces of freeze dried meat before abandoning them.
She felt Tuantuan’s stomach, it was completely flat. The dog definitely hadn’t eaten its fill.
“May I borrow the kitchen for a moment?” she politely asked the unfamiliar auntie.
Auntie Fang’s gaze bypassed her to look at Lin Sheng behind her. Only when the latter nodded in approval did Auntie Fang lead Yu Keqing into the kitchen.
Yu Keqing had lived in this house for nearly five years. She used to prepare all three of Lin Sheng’s daily meals with the utmost care, but Lin Sheng would only grant her the favor of eating a bite or two when she was in an exceptionally good mood. When she was in a bad mood, she wouldn’t even look at it, much less acknowledge Yu Keqing.
Later, when Lin Sheng was pregnant with Xiaobao, her morning sickness had been incredibly severe, and she could only rely on nutritional supplements to sustain herself. Seeing her suffer broke Yu Keqing’s heart. She spent hours reading books and researching data, meticulously pairing ingredients together until Lin Sheng could finally force down some food.
Even if it was just for the sheer hardship of that pregnancy and childbirth, she couldn’t bring herself to hate Lin Sheng. She didn’t hate Lin Sheng, she was merely terrified, no longer daring to indulge in foolish illusions.
Living in this house once again, she did not view herself as the mistress of the home. She hadn’t been in the past, and she certainly wasn’t now.
She remained courteous, polite, and strictly stood outside the boundaries, clearly understanding what her status was.
“I need some chicken breast, vegetables, and an egg, please.”
Auntie Fang acknowledged the request, retrieving the ingredients from the refrigerator and asking, “What do you need to make? Tell me, and I’ll do it for you.”
“No need, I can manage on my own. Thank you.”
She set Tuantuan down, washed her hands, put on an apron, and rinsed all the ingredients before putting them into a pot to boil.
It was a very simple dog meal. Once it cooled down and was placed into Tuantuan’s small bowl, the dog began eating happily.
Yu Keqing took the opportunity to restore the kitchen to its original state.
Watching her quietly organizing the items, Lin Sheng stood leaning against the kitchen doorway with an unreadable expression.
“This is your home. You can do whatever you want here.”
Yu Keqing, whose back was turned to her, stiffened for a moment. Her stiff lips twitched slightly, this place had never been her home.
Lin Sheng walked over, untied the apron around Yu Keqing’s waist, and braced both hands on the countertop, trapping her between the cooking surface and her own body. She greedily nuzzled against Yu Keqing’s neck, inhaling her pheromones.
Watching Yu Keqing busy herself at the counter just now had made her think about when she could have Yu Keqing vigorously take her right here in the kitchen. To hell with tender care, she wanted to be consumed fiercely until every drop of moisture ran dry.
Every inch of Lin Sheng’s body was screaming with an insatiable, unfulfilled desire, yet she had no choice but to endure this empty craving.
Fuck.
She bit down lightly on the soft flesh at the side of Yu Keqing’s neck, finally bowing her proud queen’s head and showing a rare sign of weakness.
“If you want to cook, just tell Auntie Fang whatever you’re missing or need. I remember your cooking is excellent. Cook for me again in the future, alright? Once we bring Xiaobao over tomorrow, we’ll be a complete family of three. Isn’t that what you always wanted before?”
Everything Yu Keqing had wanted in the past, Lin Sheng was willing to give her now.
