- Chapter 2 - The Alpha Elder Sister's Enforced Love
As night fell, Lin Sheng went to the study.
Yu Keqing listened carefully from inside the bedroom. Only after confirming that Lin Sheng was no longer outside did she finally muster the courage to step out.
To prevent her from leaving, Lin Sheng had stationed bodyguards at the door. Now that Lin Sheng was home, had the bodyguards at the door been dismissed?
Clinging to a sliver of hope, she opened the door. Hearing the movement, the bodyguards immediately turned around.
“Madam,” they said, their tone respectful, yet their bodies blocked the doorway firmly.
Gripping the doorknob, Yu Keqing let out a bitter smile. Had she not been compliant enough over the past ten years? Lin Sheng was actually still this distrustful of her.
Returning to the bedroom utterly crestfallen, she clutched the fabric over her chest, gasping for air from the suffocating distress.
The duffel bag she had brought from home was right here. Inside were just a few pieces of clothing and a simple toiletry kit. She had initially thought she wouldn’t be staying more than a few days, so there was no need to bring too much. Consequently, she had only packed a two days supply of her medicine. She had finished it all on the day she went to pay her respects at the cemetery. Now that several more days had passed, she found herself coughing through the night as she tried to sleep.
She lingered in the bathroom for over half an hour, not daring to go out. Lin Sheng was outside, and she had absolutely no intention of leaving.
Knock, knock!
Lin Sheng tapped twice on the door. “Are you planning to sleep inside there tonight?”
With no way to hide, Yu Keqing had no choice but to brace herself, open the door, and step out. She was still wearing the old, worn-out clothes she had brought with her.
As for the designer clothes Lin Sheng had ordered for her, they were all hanging neatly in the wardrobe. She hadn’t touched a single one.
When Lin Sheng saw the faded, over worn T-shirt on her, her brow furrowed imperceptibly, though she didn’t say anything.
If this had been the past, she definitely would have degraded Yu Keqing from head to toe.
“Come over here. I’m not a tiger, I won’t eat you,” Lin Sheng said, a hint of anger flaring up when she saw Yu Keqing shrinking back at the foot of the bed.
Yu Keqing’s shoulders visibly trembled. She was clearly terrified, yet she didn’t dare defy Lin Sheng’s wishes, so she could only edge her way up the bed slowly.
Lin Sheng leaned against the headboard, her arms crossed over her chest. Her black silk nightrobe draped loosely over her body, revealing her snow-white collarbone and her alluring cleavage. Her two long, fair legs were as smooth and flawless as jade. Her thick, long curls tumbled casually over her shoulders. With her full red lips and captivating eyes, her gaze was fixed entirely on Yu Keqing, who stood barely an arm’s length away.
In the past, Lin Sheng had always looked down on this woman’s soft and yielding nature. She was far too spineless, a born punching bag and scapegoat. Lin Sheng still couldn’t fathom how someone with such a weak disposition could devise such a sinister plot to harm Man’er. Yet, those deeds had undeniably been committed by Yu Keqing’s own hands.
“Go to sleep,” Lin Sheng threw out those three words.
Yu Keqing was stunned. Had she misheard? Did Lin Sheng mean for her to sleep in the same bed?
Even after sliding under the covers, Yu Keqing still felt like it was an illusion. She and Lin Sheng had never shared a bed before.
Her body was stiff as a board, not daring to move. She didn’t even dare to breathe too heavily. Just moments ago, she had expressed that she could sleep on the sofa or make do anywhere else for the night, but her compliance had only earned her a cold stare from Lin Sheng.
The heavy, suffocating scent of roses pervaded every corner. She carefully shifted her body toward the outer edge of the bed, trying her best to avoid getting too close to Lin Sheng.
In the next second, the body carrying that rich rose fragrance pressed closer. Yu Keqing could clearly feel that her hands were no longer obeying her own commands, like a puppet on strings, they were lifted by Lin Sheng and placed onto her waist.
Lin Sheng guided Yu Keqing’s hands across her soft skin, leading her to explore places Yu Keqing had never dared to even dream about in the past. Separated only by a thin, narrow strip of fabric, the dampness her fingertips brushed against made her entire body shudder.
It wasn’t excitement. It was pure terror.
She struggled fiercely as memories of the past slammed into her mind like a heavy hammer.
She would never forget the time Lin Sheng went into heat. It had come on so suddenly and with such exceptional intensity that it was nearly impossible to endure without an Alpha’s temporary marking to soothe it. As an Alpha and Lin Sheng’s legal wife, Yu Keqing had naturally become the only choice.
That night, Lin Sheng had shed all her coldness and dominance. Flushed and trembling, she had collapsed into Yu Keqing’s arms, her mist-shrouded eyes carrying no trace of a threat, leaving only an undeniable, raw vulnerability.
“Bite my gland. Mark me,” Lin Sheng had commanded, her voice thick with breathless pants.
As an imposter who had transmigrated into this book, Yu Keqing had only a superficial understanding of the ABO dynamics. She had absolutely no idea how to handle such a sudden crisis. At a total loss, she had wanted to call an ambulance for Lin Sheng, only to be harshly rebuked.
“Mark me! Hurry up!”
“I… I don’t know how.”
“You’re completely useless!”
Ultimately, under Lin Sheng’s exasperated and furious guidance, she completed the marking.
The entire process had been a daze to her. The only things she remembered vividly were the overpowering scent of roses on Lin Sheng, and that one particular sentence.
“Do not let your hands touch my body. Don’t get me dirty.”
Those words had been like a bucket of ice water, instantly extinguishing all her fluttering emotions, leaving her with nothing but a bitter smile and a wrenching ache in her heart.
Even though she had complied fully that night without overstepping a single boundary, she was still slapped across the face by a fully sober Lin Sheng the very next morning.
“Yu Keqing, being marked by someone like you is truly the greatest humiliation of my life.”
Lin Sheng loathed her to such an extent, so why would she now voluntarily let her touch her body? Especially somewhere so private.
“No, don’t…” She tried to push Lin Sheng away.
But Lin Sheng refused to let her go. Having searched for this person for ten whole years, her longing had long since grown wild and untamed. How could she let her off so easily?
The pheromones of a top-tier Omega were like an inescapable net. Yu Keqing’s faint scent of sandalwood carried no aggression whatsoever. Under the crushing weight of the rich, fiery rose pheromones, she didn’t even have the room to resist. She could only become like a lamb led to the slaughter, turning so compliant it felt as if all the strength had been drained from her body.
“Don’t… don’t do this.” Yu Keqing’s voice shook uncontrollably as her hand was guided by Lin Sheng to knead the snow-white, supple flesh.
Her weak resistance only provoked an even deeper desire for control within Lin Sheng. Those red lips pressed firmly against hers, the fragrance growing increasingly intoxicating.
“Don’t do what?” Lin Sheng’s voice was wrapped in ragged breaths. “Our marriage is legal. You ought to fulfill your duties as a wife. You could mark me ten years ago, so why can’t you soothe me now?”
Her lips were filled with the taste of the fragrance, and every muscle in Yu Keqing’s body was taut with tension.
Lin Sheng’s words. Don’t get me dirty, were still echoing in her ears. Yet now, Lin Sheng was actively kissing her and guiding her touch. She was terrified of seeing that look of disgust on Lin Sheng’s face afterward. It was a nightmare that had tormented her for over a decade, humiliating her to the point of wishing the ground would swallow her whole.
You were the one who forced me to mark you back then. It was never my intention.
She desperately wanted to voice those words, but her mouth was thoroughly blocked by Lin Sheng. Her very first kiss with Lin Sheng was happening under these exact circumstances.
Was it agonizing? Was it sorrowful?
She didn’t believe for a second that after ten years, she had suddenly developed some magical charm that could make Lin Sheng fall for her, causing her to lose control and actively offer her body while completely sober, even doing things she would never have done before.
Past lessons told her that Lin Sheng’s actions must be connected to Man’er. Had something happened to Man’er? Did Lin Sheng suspect she was behind it, prompting her to sacrifice herself to this extent?
But she really hadn’t done anything. Over the last ten years, she hadn’t contacted a single soul.
Full of panic and anxiety, her tears dampened her eyelashes. The salty teardrops slid past the corners of her mouth and were licked away by Lin Sheng.
The moment their two types of pheromones intertwined and wrapped around each other, Lin Sheng let out a soft, satisfied sigh. Her body softened even further, her full chest pressing tightly against Yu Keqing’s embrace.
Yu Keqing’s consciousness blurred. Her old T-shirt remained completely intact on her body, yet her body temperature was burning hot, a flush creeping onto her cheeks, and her fingertips were coated in a warm, slick moisture.
The April evening breeze was still chilly. Lin Sheng stood out on the balcony in her nightrobe, smoking a cigarette. The cold wind dispersed the smoke and carried away the heat from her body. Leaning against the railing, she looked through the glass door at the person fast asleep on the bed.
As long as she could keep this person by her side, she didn’t care what methods she had to use. She had given Yu Keqing time, and today was merely the beginning.
Staring so intently that she lost herself, the burnt-down cigarette singed her finger. Hiss…
She flicked away the ash, an unaccountable wave of irritability washing over her. Clearly, she was the one who had forced Yu Keqing, and she was the one holding the upper hand. Yet, seeing Yu Keqing’s panic stricken, terrified, and trembling state left a certain spot in her heart feeling hollow, deeply uncomfortable, and filled with dread.
In the past, even when facing her countless humiliations, Yu Keqing would still look at her gently and endure it all, her affection never waning in the slightest. But now, all that remained in Yu Keqing toward her was terror and fear, just like a startled bird.
Once the scent of smoke had completely dissipated, she gently pushed open the glass door and walked back inside.
Under the blankets, Yu Keqing’s breathing was heavy, her brow tightly furrowed in pain. Lin Sheng leaned down and touched Yu Keqing’s forehead. It was burning hot.
Damn it, she has a fever.
Having just recovered from her illness, Yu Keqing’s complexion looked even worse. She could only manage a couple of bites of the nutritious meal the housekeeper had prepared before losing her appetite completely.
Seeing how thin she was and that she had just recovered from being sick, the housekeeper felt deeply sympathetic and urged her, “How can you get by without eating properly? Your body is going to break down.”
“Thank you, but I’m really full.” Yu Keqing felt quite guilty that the housekeeper had gone through the trouble of cooking so much only for her to eat a tiny fraction. To avoid making extra work for her, she actively suggested, “In the future, just make something simple. I can’t eat very much.”
She disliked troubling others and wasn’t used to being waited on.
“You really eat too little,” the housekeeper said, shaking her head.
Yu Keqing just smiled, not pushing the matter further.
She had previously suffered from stomach cancer, and a portion of her stomach had been removed. Her food intake could no longer be compared to that of a normal person. Having been confined by Lin Sheng these past few days, her emotions had been in turmoil, making her appetite even worse. Being able to swallow those two bites was already a feat.
Lin Sheng had mentioned arranging for Xiaobao to go to school earlier, but she didn’t know how that was progressing.
She had been sick these past few days and hadn’t seen Xiaobao. Last night, she had brought up the request to Lin Sheng about wanting Xiaobao to live with her.
Xiaobao had never been separated from her since she was born. Being arranged by Lin Sheng to live alone in an unfamiliar house would undoubtedly terrify her. She had made this request on the very first day she realized she had been kidnapped by Lin Sheng, but Lin Sheng hadn’t agreed then. Lin Sheng had dragged it out until now to finally relent, promising that Xiaobao would be brought over to live with her tomorrow.
The nanny van dropped Xiaobao off at the school gates. Looking thoroughly reluctant, Xiaobao was led out of the car by Lin Sheng.
“When can I see Mommy?” This bad auntie had said that as long as she was good, she could see her mommy. She had been very good, but the bad auntie hadn’t taken her there at all over the last few days.
Just as Lin Sheng was about to speak, she saw Man’er’s car pulling up nearby. A beautiful little girl about the same age as Xiaobao stepped out of the vehicle.
This was Man’er’s daughter. Just like Xiaobao, she was also an Omega, but their personalities were entirely different. Xiaobao’s disposition resembled Yu Keqing’s, incredibly soft and gentle.
“Auntie Lin.”
