After Becoming An Internet Sensation For Pretending To Be An Alpha, I Turned Into An Omega - Chapter 15
After the live stream ended, Bai Yue exited the studio. An Leng came over to help her pack up.
Bai Yue’s long hair was simply tied back, carrying a faint fragrance. Her heart raced, and she felt conflicted…
Returning home and their sudden reunion had left her with so many questions, but she’d never found the right moment to ask.
The affection she’d felt at sixteen or seventeen had been too pure, too cautious.
The lost time between them could never be regained, but Bai Yue didn’t want to truly grow distant…
Now.
Should she confess like this?
Say, “I’ve always liked you”?
“Are you… okay?” An Leng asked, waving a hand in front of her face.
Bai Yue snapped out of her daze. After a storm of thoughts, she still couldn’t bring herself to speak.
This one-sided affection had lasted too long, long enough to rob her of all courage.
She didn’t want to recklessly shatter the illusion and end up with nothing…
“Leave it with me,” An Leng said, packing the equipment back into the bag. “I’ll walk you downstairs. I need to pick up a few things anyway.”
Bai Yue mumbled a dazed agreement.
The descent to the lobby was silent, neither of them speaking until Bai Yue left.
As soon as Bai Yue entered her apartment and changed her clothes, her phone buzzed repeatedly.
She checked the messages. They were from An Leng:
[You left in a hurry.]
[I’ll bring the equipment to the company the day after tomorrow.]

Right!
She’d gone to An Leng’s place today to pick up her cup!
But… the day after tomorrow?
Just as Bai Yue was puzzling over this, Wang Xi’s message popped up:
[Be at the company for a meeting at 9 AM the day after tomorrow. I’ll pick you up.]
Ah, right.
They’d arranged the schedule themselves, so it made sense An Leng would know.
Without hesitation, Bai Yue replied to Wang Xi:
[Okay.]
Then she quickly switched back to An Leng’s chat, hesitating for a long moment before typing:
[Alright, see you the day after tomorrow.]
Whatever the outcome, she just needed to cherish every moment now.

Bai Yue stood before the mirror, taking a deep breath.
To present her best self to An Leng today, she had woken up two hours early and even put on light makeup.
Downstairs, she recognized the car parked at the front door, but couldn’t recall where she’d seen it before.
She walked to the back door and tried to pull it open—it was locked.
Bai Yue looked into the car, puzzled.
The window rolled down, and An Leng, seated in the driver’s seat, turned to look at her.
“Wang Xi is indisposed,” An Leng explained. “Get in the car.”
Bai Yue glanced at the locked back seat. Seeing that An Leng had no intention of unlocking it, she instantly tensed up and turned to sit in the passenger seat.
An Leng didn’t start the car until Bai Yue had fastened her seatbelt.
“Have you eaten breakfast yet?”
“I haven’t had a chance yet,” Bai Yue replied, shaking her head.
As An Leng drove, she couldn’t see Bai Yue’s expression. Assuming her tension was work-related, she reached over to connect the car’s sound system and played a soothing piano melody.
“Relax,” An Leng said. “The livestream’s metrics from the other day were actually quite good.”
“…That’s not what I’m worried about.”
The car stopped at a red light.
Noticing Bai Yue’s tight grip on her seatbelt, An Leng suddenly realized what was bothering her. “I’ve already passed my driver’s test,” she explained quickly. To reassure her further, she added, “I took the test myself…”
Bai Yue paused, knowing An Leng had misunderstood, but didn’t clarify. Instead, she smiled and asked, “But I remember new drivers are supposed to put a sticker on their car, right?”
“I did,” An Leng replied earnestly, as if lecturing. “So… next time, don’t just barge into a car you see on the street.”
Bai Yue pursed her lips, realizing she was at fault for not checking properly, and didn’t argue.
After two blocks, the car pulled over to the curb.
Clearly, they weren’t at the company yet.
An Leng unbuckled her seatbelt and picked up her phone. “Wait here for a moment.”
Through the window, Bai Yue watched An Leng dash across the street to the bun shop. When she returned, her hands were laden with breakfast bags.
“Why did you buy so much?” Bai Yue asked, getting out of the car to help.
“So they can eat their fill and work hard,” An Leng replied casually, tossing a breakfast bag into her arms. “Eat this first. We have a meeting at the office soon.”
Bai Yue hummed in acknowledgment, wondering if An Leng meant she should work harder to earn more for the company too.
She took out her phone and snapped two photos to send to Shi Xiaoxia.
For once, there was no teasing from the other end. Instead, Shi Xiaoxia replied with a photo:
[Class meeting.]
[We were so busy watching the finals that we forgot about the graduation ceremony this weekend.]
[The advisor asked if you’re coming?]
Bai Yue: [ …I don’t know. ]
Shi Xiaoxia: [ ??? ]
Bai Yue reluctantly explained the situation and promised to do her best to attend.

Inside the small conference room at GJ Entertainment, four or five people were already seated around the long table. Bai Yue entered, leaving only three seats at the front empty.
Two seats on one side, one on the other.
An Leng casually led Bai Yue forward and stopped at the pair of adjacent seats. “Here’s perfect.”
Artists don’t necessarily have to sit next to their managers. Sometimes sitting next to the Director is just fine.
Just as they sat down, Wang Xi stormed in carrying a stack of documents.
She plugged in the USB drive, and the meeting began.
“Yesterday, I reviewed the options and identified a few high-value projects. First, the final guest for Love and Support Station.”
“The recording is this weekend,” Wang Xi said, advancing to the first slide. “The theme is music, and the show airs during prime time—very valuable exposure.”
Bai Yue immediately raised her hand like a grade school student. “I just learned that my graduation ceremony is also on the weekend. I…”
As she spoke, she pulled up her chat history to show Wang Xi.
But Wang Xi waved her off as if she already knew. “This variety show is all about ‘helping.’ The final recording will be at G University’s auditorium.”
Wang Xi glanced at Bai Yue.
Bai Yue instantly dropped her objection, nodding enthusiastically. Of course she was excited to film at her own university!
Seeing no objections, Wang Xi continued flipping through the PowerPoint presentation. “Graduation is the first step into the real world, and also the most confusing time. The production team plans to secretly add our performance to the end of the graduation ceremony program…”
The meeting continued, but Bai Yue lowered her head, lost in her own thoughts.
How to deceive Shi Xiaoxia.
I can’t make it. I’m flying out tomorrow to film the show. /crying
Shi Xiaoxia: Did you get possessed?
Shi Xiaoxia: Bai, are you crying?
The table was tapped twice. Bai Yue looked up at the sound and pretended to focus on her work.
“…Finally, the spin-off show of Idol will be filming in mid-next month. In addition to the top four contestants, they also hope—”
Wang Xi paused, glancing at An Leng hesitantly. “They… hope Director An and Bai Yue will become permanent cast members.”
She asked tentatively, wondering if Young President An might also want to go. After all, why not earn the money if it was available?
Bai Yue immediately turned to look at An Leng.
The joy in her eyes was barely contained.
An Leng lowered her head, flipping through documents with a gloomy expression. Even without words, it was clear she was unwilling.
“Of course, our current stance is to refuse,” Wang Xi hastily explained.
“I’ll go,” An Leng replied.
The document open in front of her stopped at the list of program participants.
An Leng, Bai Yue, Chen Zi…
Waves were drawn under the first two names.
Before Chen Zi’s name, An Leng had forcefully drawn a line with her pen, separating it.
