After Becoming a Full-Time Employee, I Signed a Romance Contract with My Ice-Cold Boss - Chapter 35
Is This Also Part of the Contract?
Night fell, and the moonlight was as cool as water.
The steam in the kitchen had dissipated, and the chicken soup in the earthenware pot was still wafting with fragrance. Jiang Fengyi, who had said early on that she was coming home to drink soup, was nowhere to be found.
In the living room,
A botanical scent of sunflowers bathing in the sun added a touch of freshness to the air. Jiang Fengyi’s face was flushed crimson as she reclined on the sofa, her body instinctively wanting to press closer to Xu Que.
“You… your pheromones…”
Xu Que apologized with a reddened face: “My emotional fluctuations were too great, and I lost control, causing the pheromones to leak out.”
Suddenly seeing the news push about Jiang Fengyi’s car accident, Xu Que’s heart had immediately leaped into her throat. Her heartbeat had not yet fully settled; after her nervous confession, she was astonished to find that the other party liked her back.
Her heart had been like a roller coaster all day—thinking she had fallen into an abyss, only to be suddenly launched into the sky, soaring into the clouds the next second.
The emotional swings were so violent that she had been momentarily careless and failed to control her pheromones. It wasn’t until she saw the person opposite her blushing and starting to pant that she realized what was happening.
She quickly carried the weak-kneed Jiang Fengyi to the living room sofa and then solemnly apologized to her.
That led to the scene happening now.
Xu Que suppressed her bodily instincts, stopping the pheromones from leaking further, but the passionate fragrance of sunflowers still lingered in the air.
Xu Que sniffed herself, worried that the pheromones clinging to her clothes would continue to affect Jiang Fengyi: “I’ll go change my clothes right now.”
As Xu Que moved away, Jiang Fengyi on the sofa seemed to suffer even more; the only breath that could soothe her was slowly dissipating.
“Wait… wait…”
Jiang Fengyi’s voice was weak, but as soon as she called, Xu Que immediately turned back.
At a glance, she saw a thin layer of sweat on Jiang Fengyi’s forehead. Her skin, white as curdled fat, was flushed with a light pink, and her breathing was much more hurried than usual. Her ruby lips were slightly parted at this moment.
She was like a night-blooming cereus about to unfurl.
Fine droplets of dew fell upon the gradually expanding flower, casting a soft light and adding a sense of misty atmosphere.
But the weight also made the petals unable to support themselves, drooping heavily, evoking pity from onlookers who wished to brush away the excess dew for her.
Xu Que reached out and wiped the fine sweat from Jiang Fengyi’s forehead.
“You’re so hot!” Her hand remained on Jiang Fengyi’s forehead, and the other woman moved slightly, proactively pressing her burning face against Xu Que’s palm.
She was treating Xu Que’s body like a block of ice to cool down.
Xu Que smelled a faint floral fragrance beginning to emanate from Jiang Fengyi. The sweat she had just wiped away beaded up again, and the closer she got, the richer the floral scent became.
Suddenly, Xu Que didn’t know where to put her hands and feet: “You… you’re in your rut…”
It was her; she was the one who had induced Jiang Fengyi’s rut.
“Sor… sorry, what should I do?” Heat rushed up Xu Que’s cheeks, and she didn’t know where to let her gaze fall.
Her brain, which had stalled, finally resumed normal thinking: “I’ll go find an inhibitor patch for you.”
“Don’t… don’t go…”
The sound of Xu Que’s voice made Jiang Fengyi feel restless, but the remaining pheromones on Xu Que’s body had become her life-saving medicine.
“Come… closer.”
Xu Que obediently did as she was told.
Immediately, Jiang Fengyi’s soft body pressed against her.
She kept pursing her lips; not long ago, Xu Que had left a kiss upon them. She had heard of such behavior—searching for the lingering scent left by the other person.
The pale pink of her lips was pressed into a vivid crimson by her force; her moist, shimmering lips looked as if they had been coated with a thick, shiny lip gloss.
Xu Que wanted to taste that fragrance.
The heart moved with the thought.
She leaned down and kissed her.
Jiang Fengyi was half-kneeling on the sofa, her head tilted far back. Her long hair was scattered behind her, revealing a slender, white swan-like neck. The other person’s palms steadily cradled the back of her head to prevent her from losing strength.
Her hands tightly gripped Xu Que’s hem, the synthetic fabric wrinkling into a ball in her palms, but as soon as her hands loosened, it quickly returned to its original shape.
No matter how Jiang Fengyi pulled and tugged, the hem did not lose its form.
Jiang Fengyi wasn’t intentionally trying to pull Xu Que’s clothes; whenever she felt she was about to lose her breath and her mouth was blocked so she couldn’t make a sound, she could only rely on her hand movements to remind the other.
She gave a light tug. At first, Xu Que didn’t understand, but looking down at the gasping Jiang Fengyi, she realized.
After that, whenever Jiang Fengyi tugged the hem, she skillfully pulled back to allow a breathing gap.
After a bout of tossing and turning, the “lip gloss” on Jiang Fengyi’s mouth hadn’t faded; instead, it grew more intense, so red it looked as if lipstick had been smeared beyond the lip line.
Her legs were too weak to support her, and she relied entirely on Xu Que’s hands to hold her up.
Jiang Fengyi needed to rest. She gave Xu Que a push, and without the support behind her, her body softened and fell back onto the sofa, her head happening to land on a nearby throw pillow.
Caught off guard and pushed back a few steps, Xu Que took the opportunity to lie down on the sofa as well, squeezing in beside Jiang Fengyi.
The spot next to Jiang Fengyi sank deeply.
“So tired~”
Jiang Fengyi never knew before that kissing was so physically demanding; it felt exactly like running a marathon, requiring physical strength, endurance, and lung capacity.
Two streams of pheromones swirled and tangled together, indistinguishable from one another, just like the two figures on the sofa now, overlapping.
Xu Que picked up a strand of Jiang Fengyi’s long hair that had fallen beside her and wound it circle by circle around her fingertip, as if their lives were tightly intertwined and bound from this moment forward.
“You won’t be tired after resting for a bit.”
Being so close, the breath Xu Que exhaled puffed right against Jiang Fengyi’s ear.
“It tickles.”
Jiang Fengyi shrunk her neck.
Xu Que found it interesting and deliberately moved closer. She didn’t speak, but intentionally exhaled outward.
The desire Jiang Fengyi had managed to suppress flared up again. The air Xu Que exhaled clearly contained ingredients she was addicted to; once it started, it couldn’t be stopped.
The rise and fall of her chest grew larger. Jiang Fengyi closed her eyes and tried to take deep breaths to find relief, but she didn’t succeed. The temperature of the skin at the back of her neck continued to climb.
Even without a mirror, she could feel the gland that had just settled down acting up again, swelling until it was impossible to ignore.
Jiang Fengyi reached her hand back. The skin that was usually soft was now swollen and hard, with a nodule abruptly appearing.
She bit her lip, enduring the pain, and pressed firmly to try and soothe it.
“Does it hurt here?”
Suddenly, another hand joined in. The moment Xu Que’s fingertip touched her skin, her entire body felt as if hit by an electric shock; a current surged through her limbs and torso.
The gland at the back of her neck became even more red and swollen. Xu Que reached out and quickly sensed the abnormality, her fingertip slowly pressing down.
“Is it here?”
She asked while observing Jiang Fengyi’s expression, ready to lighten the pressure immediately if there was any discomfort.
“Mmh…”
Jiang Fengyi didn’t speak, only letting out a short, meaningless single syllable. Her brow smoothed over, as if praising her for having the perfect pressing technique.
Xu Que couldn’t help but increase the pressure, pressing bit by bit toward the center of the gland.
The floral scent overflowed, rich and fragrant.
With every breath, Jiang Fengyi inhaled a large amount of Xu Que’s scent. The other person no longer suppressed it, letting the pheromones pour out freely.
An entire field of sunflowers bathing in the sun stretched their bodies to the fullest; as soon as Jiang Fengyi drew near, the comforting pheromones wrapped around her passionately.
The intense emotion was so fierce it made her skin burn in waves.
Jiang Fengyi lay face-up on the sofa. The newly emerged sweat wasn’t wiped away in time, dampening the long hair at her temples into strands that stuck to the side of her face.
Black against white—the extreme contrast in color highlighted the porcelain whiteness of Jiang Fengyi’s skin.
Xu Que’s other free hand carefully brushed away the hair stuck to Jiang Fengyi’s face, and the sweat was wiped clean bit by bit.
Jiang Fengyi’s face regained its freshness, but her neck, collarbone, chest, and back were likewise covered in a dense layer of sweat.
Xu Que tentatively lifted Jiang Fengyi’s collar, politely asking: “Do you need me to help you wipe away the sweat?”
Waves of heat surged one after another. Jiang Fengyi’s body felt as if it were being smoked and roasted over a fire; no matter how she tried to hide, she couldn’t escape this heat source.
The heavy sweating caused Jiang Fengyi’s body to become dehydrated. She kept swallowing her saliva, but for her parched throat, it was just a drop in the bucket and couldn’t solve the root of the problem.
“Thir… thirsty…”
“Do you want to drink water?” Xu Que asked while staying busy.
Jiang Fengyi, whose clothes were half-undressed, nodded impatiently.
“Water… ice water…”
Xu Que didn’t want to leave; she didn’t want to miss a single moment of Jiang Fengyi being moved.
She scooped up the limp Jiang Fengyi in her arms and coaxed softly: “I’ll carry you to get water.”
Jiang Fengyi’s eyes were blurred; she only felt Xu Que say something in her ear, but she didn’t listen closely to the content. Suddenly, her body was whisked up into the air.
With her feet no longer touching the ground, Jiang Fengyi instinctively wrapped her arms around Xu Que’s shoulders and hooked her long legs loosely around Xu Que’s body to keep herself from falling.
The koala-like embrace made Xu Que’s neck a bit itchy. Jiang Fengyi’s loose hair poked into her neck and collarbone… with every step she took, the dark silk swayed, and the dense strands felt like they were sweeping across her heart.
Xu Que held her hands under the crooks of Jiang Fengyi’s knees. She walked a few steps to the refrigerator, then moved the hand from under the knee up to the small of her back, freeing her other hand to open the fridge door.
As she pulled it open, a cold white light spilled onto Jiang Fengyi’s back. All sorts of drinks were neatly arranged inside the fridge. She tilted her head and asked the person in her arms.
“What do you want to drink?”
The moment the fridge opened, a blast of cold air hit them. Jiang Fengyi, with her back to the fridge, comfortably felt the chill, using it to alleviate the heat in her body.
“What do you want to drink?”
She heard Xu Que ask her.
“Bottled water is fine,” she answered with a hoarse voice.
Xu Que took out the bottle on the outermost side and unscrewed the cap. Just as she was about to bring it to Jiang Fengyi’s lips, a thought suddenly flashed through her mind, and she raised the water high out of Jiang Fengyi’s reach.
Seeing the ice water that was practically at her mouth fly away, the hand Jiang Fengyi had on Xu Que’s shoulder changed to a tight grip around her neck, while her other hand tried desperately to reach for that bottle of life-giving spring.
Xu Que let out a laugh. Her chest vibrated slightly with the frequency of her laughter, and her shoulders shrugged in small movements. Her entire upper body was shaking slightly.
Worried about falling, Jiang Fengyi wrapped both hands securely around Xu Que’s neck.
When a puppy is being mischievous, a bright light of excitement always shines in its eyes; Xu Que was exactly like that now, her sparkling eyes blinking.
A smile filled the depths of her gaze: “Feeding the boss water…”
A mischievous grin hung at the corner of her mouth.
“The agreement doesn’t seem to say anything about needing to feed the boss water.”
“Is this also part of the contract?”
“Mmh…”
Jiang Fengyi was being toyed with, feeling suspended in mid-air in every sense of the word.
Even with the cold air released from the fridge blowing on it, the gland at the back of her neck couldn’t be relieved of the heat radiating from within, and Xu Que’s pheromones were still constantly tempting her.
She no longer ran away and began to face the desires of her own body.
Jiang Fengyi closed her eyes and gave a light nod.
“Keeping the boss happy is a job requirement you need to fulfill.”
