Chapter 19: Housewife
Lately, after leaving the company, Shen Shuowen would drive aimlessly through the city streets. He often wandered until late at night; he had no destination, but he simply did not want to go home.
As he pulled over to have a cigarette, he noticed that gaze. He felt incredibly fortunate that he had driven down this particular street and happened to stop at this street corner for a smoke.
“Come with me, I will protect you…” Zhuo Mingyuan said, instinctively leaning closer to Tang Yiqing.
Immediately following this, what Zhuo Mingyuan felt was the powerful pressure between males. His expression shifted slowly from infatuation to agony; cold sweat broke out across his back, and his mind became crystal clear.
Then, he saw an Alpha dressed in a formal suit walk up to them. A deep voice rang out: “Tang Yiqing belongs to the Shen family; there is no need for you to protect him.”
Due to the pheromone suppression, Zhuo Mingyuan’s eyelids were trembling. He struggled to see the man before him clearly. Someone from the Shen family… he fought to focus on the face: distinguished features, a cold and stern aura—it seemed to be the eldest son of the Shen family.
The pheromone pressure eased slightly. He heard Tang Yiqing say to him, “I’m sorry, someone has already come to pick me up.” Soon after, the faint fragrance of daisies began to drift away.
The dampness after the rain brought a touch of coldness to the body. Tang Yiqing’s fingertips were chilled, but then they were grasped by Shen Shuowen’s warm hand, and he was led away.
After getting into the car, Tang Yiqing was still able to sit properly. His mind was clear, but the red wine-scented pheromones inside the car stimulated him, causing his body to shiver involuntarily. His face flushed a deep crimson with shame, fearing he might soil the seat.
He also stared uncontrollably at Shen Shuowen, his gaze filled with intense desire. Even with a clear head, he wanted to pounce on him, regardless of the consequences, to relieve the unbearable yearning in his body.
Tang Yiqing considered himself a law-abiding person who stayed in his place and never had an out-of-line thought. But now, he found he was almost meeting a new version of himself. If this was a form of torture, he could no longer endure it.
The car window was opened slightly. Rain began to flutter outside again, and the cold air, mixed with strands of rain, blew in, invading the scorching, humid atmosphere.
Shen Shuowen’s face was taut. Fine sweat had broken out on the back of his neck, and the blue veins on the back of his hand were bulging. Clearly, he had reached his limit—not just because of the daisy pheromones, but also because of Tang Yiqing’s burning gaze. Being watched with such a look made it impossible for him not to be aroused.
The car pulled over to the side of the road. Shen Shuowen opened the packaging of a suppressant and took it out.
Tang Yiqing had been staring at him intently. He saw him pierce the needle into his skin and smelled the scent of the suppressant. He felt an inexplicable surge of anger and wanted to throw the thing in his hand away!
At that moment, the system’s countdown timer rang in his mind. He had used two items already; the ten minutes of clarity were up, and he had no more points to exchange for more…
Just as Shen Shuowen pulled out the needle, Tang Yiqing pounced. The suppressant made his blood run cold, but the body pouncing on him made Shen Shuowen’s skin burn once more.
“Tang Yiqing,” Shen Shuowen called his name in a deep voice.
As the scent of daisies brushed past, Shen Shuowen felt a soft dampness press against his cheek, followed by his ear. Tang Yiqing’s lips were pressed against his ear.
Shen Shuowen’s hand clenched abruptly and then loosened. He pulled Tang Yiqing away, looking at his face which was tortured by desire. The watery light in Yiqing’s eyes seemed ready to overflow, and his flushed lips were slightly parted—every part of him was enticing the man to the fullest.
He pinned Tang Yiqing against the car seat and kissed him. The temperature in the car rose sharply. Red wine intertwined with daisies; the scent of pheromones reached near saturation, spilling out through the windows.
Shen Shuowen passed his saliva to Tang Yiqing, letting him hold it; when it spilled from the corner of his mouth, he lightly bit Yiqing’s lips. His own teeth felt itchy; he desperately wanted to bite something—he wanted to bite Yiqing’s glands and make him completely his own Omega. He had wanted to do this for a long time.
This kiss made Tang Yiqing feel slightly better. His mouth was filled with the taste of Shen Shuowen’s pheromones. He looked hazily at the man before him, wanting to demand even more.
Shen Shuowen’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He licked his canine teeth with the tip of his tongue. “Tang Yiqing, who am I?”
Tang Yiqing wanted to reach out and wrap his arms around the man’s neck, but Shen Shuowen grabbed both of his wrists. He struggled helplessly, only to hear Shen Shuowen’s ice-cold voice: “Speak.”
Tang Yiqing’s body shivered, filled with both longing and fear. “You… you are Shen Shuowen.”
Shen Shuowen’s eyes narrowed slightly, a bottomless darkness within them. “Do you want me to mark you?”
Tang Yiqing was so miserable he was about to cry. He struggled and writhed. Seeing the other person desperately trying to reach him, Shen Shuowen didn’t have the heart to press him further.
He flipped Tang Yiqing over and heavily massaged the back of his neck twice. While Tang Yiqing was shaking all over, he bit down, injecting his pheromones and giving Tang Yiqing a temporary mark.
Tang Yiqing jerked twice in rapid succession, his legs involuntarily crossing and trembling. Then, he let out a muffled groan; he had reached the peak of the pheromones.
Shen Shuowen stood up, quickly fastened Tang Yiqing’s seatbelt, and started the car. A temporary mark could buy Tang Yiqing a moment of peace.
At the front desk of a five-star hotel, a Beta was quickly checking in guests. He smelled an incredibly pungent scent and understood immediately; he had seen many such guests. This pair was special because the Omega was being carried on the Alpha’s shoulder, wrapped entirely in a blanket so that not even a toe was showing. Furthermore, this Alpha was exceptionally handsome, though his aura was so intimidating that no one dared to look at him twice.
Under the Alpha’s gaze, the Beta’s movements became even faster. He soon handed over the room card. It wasn’t until the man left that the Beta breathed a sigh of relief; the pressure of attending to such a guest was immense.
The door opened. Shen Shuowen placed Tang Yiqing on the bed and immediately took out another suppressant. His forehead was covered in fine sweat; from the car all the way to this room, his erection had been aching with pain.
Just then, Tang Yiqing struggled out of the blanket, sat on the edge of the bed, and hugged his Alpha, rubbing his nose back and forth against the man’s abdomen.
Shen Shuowen threw the suppressant into the trash can. Tang Yiqing had no idea what a dangerous thing he was doing. He lifted Tang Yiqing’s chin; the other person looked at him with red-rimmed eyes like a clingy rabbit, obedient and piteous.
If he were told to lick right now, he would probably do so obediently. Shen Shuowen stuck his finger into Tang Yiqing’s mouth, moving it around.
As expected, Yiqing endured it submissively, even grabbing the man’s hand and placing it on his own body, trying clumsily to get him to alleviate his desire.
An Omega who has been marked becomes exceptionally clingy toward their Alpha. Tang Yiqing was no different. His intense reaction after being marked was clearly because it was his first time; he was more clingy and dependent on his Alpha than a typical Omega, his tongue curling around the man’s finger, unwilling to let go.
Shen Shuowen felt himself losing control; his rationality was on the verge of snapping. He withdrew his finger, withdrew his pheromones, and pinched Tang Yiqing’s chin to make him look at him.
“Tang Yiqing, get a divorce,” Shen Shuowen said in a raspy voice.
Deprived of the Alpha’s pheromones, Tang Yiqing wept from the discomfort. Saliva continuously trickled down, staining Shen Shuowen’s collar. He made unbearable “mhm mhm” sounds. “Give it to me… give it to me…”
“Is a divorce okay?” Shen Shuowen asked. “Promise me, get a divorce.”
Tang Yiqing’s head was a mess of mush. Only the word “divorce” vaguely entered his mind. He was supposed to get a divorce…
“Get a divorce, Tang Yiqing…”
The voice rang in his mind again, like a demand and a temptation. Tang Yiqing murmured unconsciously, “Divorce… I will divorce…”
The next second, the pheromones he craved enveloped him, so rich they made him want to scream.
Then, a wave of coolness hit his body. The desire that had left him with no direction finally found its place, making his whole body tremble violently. So, it was like this…
Tang Yiqing woke up on the morning of the third day. His entire body was limp, and every joint was aching.
He rolled over and saw Shen Shuowen sleeping beside him. The man hadn’t woken up yet. In sleep, he lacked that intimidating sternness and appeared much softer.
However, when Tang Yiqing saw him, his brain seemed to crash. He struggled to sit up, only to find that he wasn’t wearing anything under the covers.
His movement seemed to affect Shen Shuowen. By the time Tang Yiqing realized he didn’t know how to face him and tried to pretend to be asleep, it was too late. Shen Shuowen sat up. He was dressed in a shirt and trousers, looking far better than Yiqing.
Shen Shuowen rubbed his brow and then turned to look at Tang Yiqing. For a moment, there was silence.
There were dark circles under Shen Shuowen’s eyes, and his face looked weary. He sat on the edge of the bed and spoke: “Are you better?”
Tang Yiqing’s face turned bright red. He nodded. “Better.”
Then, silence fell again. The morning sunlight in the room was just right. There were potted plants in the room; everything was peaceful, but the flow of air was stagnant, making one want to escape.
Tang Yiqing’s expression was complex. The situation was truly chaotic. He knew that one day he might lose control, but he hadn’t expected this kind of scenario. Perhaps there would be someone, but he hadn’t expected it to be… No, his subconscious told him it wouldn’t be anyone but Shen Shuowen, even if their relationship was unspeakable.
Now that it had happened, thinking of anything else was useless. He was an adult and would take responsibility for his actions. He didn’t regret it; if Shen Shuowen hadn’t been there last night, things would have only been worse. Compared to his body and his life, what did this matter?
Even if time were turned back, Shen Shuowen would still be the best choice. And… he hadn’t been forced.
But the upcoming plot…
Shen Shuowen saw the complexity and conflict on his face and said, “I didn’t go inside. I just used my hand.”
Tang Yiqing instinctively looked at him. After realizing what he had said, he froze, his mouth slightly open and his face suddenly exploding in red.
Shen Shuowen continued, “I marked you temporarily. You needed my soothing at the time, so I just used my hand…”
Tang Yiqing lowered his head, his whole body looking like a cooked shrimp. “Don’t say anymore…”
“Don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault,” Shen Shuowen said. “If you must blame someone, blame me for marking you while you were unconscious.”
Tang Yiqing was not wrong; the fault was his. From the moment he created the deceptive medicine for Tang Yiqing and hoped to get feedback, his rationality had been collapsing. From suggesting the trip to relax to the temporary mark, his own temptations were woven throughout. Reaching this step, Tang Yiqing should not have to bear the burden.
“It’s all my fault. If you want to blame someone, blame me. I am the one who dragged you into an immoral situation,” Shen Shuowen said.
Tang Yiqing’s expression froze. His gaze swept to the floor, where there was a shocking number of empty suppressant tubes. He turned his head back and looked straight at Shen Shuowen. Suddenly, his nose felt a sting, and his eyes grew red. “It’s not like that… I don’t blame you.”
Shen Shuowen’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He didn’t speak again but raised his hand to rub Tang Yiqing’s messy, soft hair.
After withdrawing his hand, he put on his shoes and stood up, looking down at Tang Yiqing.
The two were silent for a long time. Tang Yiqing kept his head down, helpless and confused, not daring to meet Shen Shuowen’s eyes until his phone appeared before him.
Tang Yiqing looked up at Shen Shuowen in confusion, only to hear him say, “Call him. Divorce.”
His head went blank for a second. It took a while to understand what Shen Shuowen was saying. At the same time, he didn’t understand how the man who had just said it was all his fault could now be holding his phone and forcefully demanding he call for a divorce.
Facing Shen Shuowen’s piercing gaze, Tang Yiqing took the phone. This version of Shen Shuowen was so pressuring it made him feel a bit timid.
“Call. You said it yourself, you would divorce,” Shen Shuowen stated calmly.
Tang Yiqing stared at the phone. He had no recollection of when he had said that, but he did indeed want a divorce. But… to say it now?
“Call. Call Shen Mingzheng. Right now,” Shen Shuowen said.
Tang Yiqing shrank back slightly. Under the pressure of what could only be called Shen Shuowen’s coercion, he dialed Shen Mingzheng’s number.
Under Shen Shuowen’s watch, while he was still naked under the covers, the call was placed to his husband.
The other end picked up quickly. The background noise was a bit chaotic. “Where have you been these past two days…”
The voice on the other end sounded agitated, but before he could finish, Tang Yiqing spoke: “Shen Mingzheng, let’s get a divorce.”
The voice on the other end stalled. Only the noisy background and the increasingly heavy breathing let him know the call hadn’t been disconnected. It felt like an age passed before he spoke: “What did you say?”
“Shen Mingzheng, let’s get a divorce,” Tang Yiqing said calmly.
“What nonsense are you talking about! What’s wrong with you now!”
“I’m serious,” Tang Yiqing said.
A cold snort sounded from the other end, his tone full of mockery. “When have you not used this old cliché of playing hard to get? Does it ever work?”
Tang Yiqing frowned. Before he could speak, Shen Mingzheng spoke with a tone as if he had seen through him: “If I actually agreed to a divorce, you’d be the one left regretting it…”
Before Shen Mingzheng could finish his sentence, He Chenguang’s voice suddenly rang out on the other side. “Mingzheng, we’re just waiting for you.”
A child’s joyful voice sounded: “Daddy, come quickly and take the family photo.”
It was Shen Shanyu’s voice. Tang Yiqing suddenly felt it was absurd. They were actually taking a family photo together?
Shen Mingzheng’s tone suddenly grew irritable. “Shut up!”
Then he said quickly to Tang Yiqing, “We’ll talk when I get home. I’m busy right now.”
The call was then disconnected. Tang Yiqing stared blankly at the now-black phone screen. The room fell into silence.
After a long while, Tang Yiqing pressed his legs together. His cheeks and ears were flushed through and through, and then he shivered for a second.
The dampness under the covers seeped out. He looked up at Shen Shuowen. The lingering warmth of the heat was still there, and the Alpha before him still provided a sense of security like a partner.
There was a hint of complaint in Tang Yiqing’s misty eyes. While he was making the call, Shen Shuowen had released his pheromones.
It seemed he had soiled the sheets now.
