Achieving A Happy Ending With The Tragic Female Lead [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 72.1
Hearing this, Guan Yue stopped speaking, and Su Mi started kissing her from the beginning again. Every time she was interrupted by Guan Yue, Su Mi would stop to explain that this was part of the “bed scene,” and then everything would start over.
By the end, Guan Yue’s eyes were filled with a blurry, watery light, the faint red at the corners of her eyes looking ready to drip. Her neck was coated in a thin layer of sweat, and strands of hair were messily stuck to her.
Guan Yue bit her lip to suppress her voice, but fine sounds still inevitably leaked out. She couldn’t help but push Su Mi again, her tone even changing pitch. “…Do you have to kiss there too?”
Was the script really this scandalous?
Su Mi finally seemed to snap out of it and stopped. Looking at the wide open collar where the snowy peaks were almost exposed, she looked up at the other woman. Above her, Guan Yue bit her lower lip hard, her reddened eyes full of moisture, and faint red marks left on her pale neck and shoulders.
She looked exactly like someone who had been severely bullied.
Su Mi propped herself up, her voice low and raspy: “Let’s end here for today.”
After saying that, she even helped the other woman button up her messy clothes one by one. She appeared calm, but the force she used with her hands was not small, as if she were restraining something.
“You buttoned it too high, it’s uncomfortable,” Guan Yue voiced her dissatisfaction.
The moment Su Mi heard her voice, she stopped. She took a deep breath before helping her undo the top button, but she didn’t gauge her strength well, and the already loose button was suddenly ripped off by her.
“…Sorry.”
By now, Guan Yue’s senses had mostly returned. Realizing what they had just done, she silently clutched her collar and sat up, not quite daring to look at Su Mi.
Su Mi asked her, “Are you okay?”
Although Guan Yue was annoyed by her own performance just now, she still forced a calm huff. “I’m fine. My acting shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
Su Mi couldn’t help but smile. “Mm, you acted very well.”
Seeing that smile, Guan Yue’s shame turned to anger. “You… Su! What are you laughing at? You think you were better than me?!”
“No, I also acted very poorly,” Su Mi said subconsciously.
“You do think I acted poorly!” Guan Yue grit her teeth at her.
Realizing she had misspoke, Su Mi said, “…That’s not what I meant.” She truly felt she had acted poorly because, toward the end, she wasn’t thinking about the script at all and had almost done something out of line.
“Why are you so skilled at these things?” Guan Yue suddenly realized this question.
Su Mi was silent for a moment and said, “Perhaps it’s natural talent.”
“Heh!” Guan Yue gave a cold laugh. “I don’t believe a word of it, you flirt!”
“You know I have a good memory and my learning ability is decent.”
“And?” Guan Yue looked at her.
“So, I learned these from relevant materials,” Su Mi said. “You think I’m skilled perhaps only because you are more amateur than I am.”
Being told she “wasn’t good” made Guan Yue even angrier. She pushed the other woman aside to get off the bed and leave, taking back the button from Su Mi’s hand before she went.
Su Mi followed behind her.
“Why are you following me?” Guan Yue said crossly.
“I’m seeing you back.”
“My room is right next door,” Guan Yue said, speechless. “Don’t follow me.”
Su Mi had no choice but to stop. She watched her leave the room and only went to her own door after hearing the sound of the door opening and closing next door to put her mind at ease.
On the other side, after Guan Yue entered her room, she leaned against the door. She reached out and pressed a hand over her heart, which was beating so fast it felt like it would jump out.
So embarrassing. If I used that state just now to film that scene, I’d lose face in front of everyone.
Thus, the more she thought about it, the more she felt she couldn’t lose. Guan Yue went out again and knocked on Su Mi’s door. Su Mi, who was about to head further inside, turned back and opened the door.
“What is it?”
“Tomorrow…” Guan Yue’s eyes flickered, and the words that followed were mumbled and unclear.
“What?” Su Mi stepped closer, but still couldn’t hear what Guan Yue was saying.
Guan Yue went for broke, stiffening her neck and face flushing red. “I said, tomorrow we continue!”
After saying that, she bolted away like a puff of smoke.
Left alone at the door, it took a moment for Su Mi to react. The corners of her lips curved up slightly, and her hand on the doorknob tapped lightly against the surface.
“Continue, huh.”
The next day, when the two met on set, they greeted each other as if nothing had happened. The filming schedule was heavy, throughout the day, they had no time for idle chat except when rehearsing scenes.
After finishing for the day and returning to the hotel, Su Mi had just opened her door when she was pushed against the wall by the person following behind her. She then watched as the other woman stood on her tiptoes to kiss her. Su Mi let her mess around, even cooperating with her.
When it ended, Guan Yue asked breathlessly, “Any progress?”
Su Mi shifted her hand to support her waist. “Mm, it seems a little better.”
Guan Yue was incredulous. “Just a little?” She had scoured many reference clips to “cram” after going back last night, she was afraid the cyber police would call her in the middle of the night.
Su Mi suppressed the urge to smile, putting on a troubled expression. “How about we try one more time?”
Faced with Su Mi, Guan Yue’s inexplicable competitiveness flared up. After thinking it over, she readily agreed. Su Mi casually closed the door, leading the person further inside while being kissed.
By the time Guan Yue reacted, she was lying on the bed again.
Su Mi was a teacher who was extremely patient with a specific student, and Guan Yue was a studious pupil. Thus, after several consecutive days of “study,” Guan Yue achieved significant success.
However, the rain the director spoke of had yet to fall, and the time shown on the weather forecast kept being pushed back. On set, the director was complaining about it to the assistant director.
“The rain was supposed to fall yesterday, why hasn’t it started yet?” The director was worried.
The assistant director looked at the sky outside. “It’s been cloudy for two days in a row. The rain should be coming soon.”
The director sighed and was about to say more when she saw Su Mi and the other actors walking over. She immediately adjusted her state and plunged back into work.
On another part of the set.
“Teacher Guan, you’re off work today,” a crew member said with a smile.
Guan Yue nodded. “Yes.” She didn’t have many scenes today, so she finished early and could head back. Su Mi, on the other hand, had to stay and continue filming.
“Guan-jie, are we going straight back to the hotel?” the little assistant asked.
“Hmm…” Guan Yue thought for a moment. “Let’s wait a bit.”
She was free anyway, so she might as well go check out Su Mi’s set. This scene was indoors, upon entering, one could see the set was decorated with gold and jade, magnificent, with wine and food laid out on the tables.
When Su Mi acted, there were often people watching. Although the director had cleared the immediate area, there were still quite a few people on the outskirts. Thanks to her status as a lead actress, Guan Yue entered with almost no resistance and found a spot with few people and a good view. Her assistant followed beside her.
Guan Yue saw the person next to Su Mi and roughly guessed which scene it was. Before joining the cast, she had identified some of the supporting actors and recognized that the male actor next to Su Mi was playing the candidate for Duan Yuebai’s fiancé. This scene should be the Duan family banquet, where Duan Yuebai’s mother wanted the two to meet and then get engaged.
For some reason, Guan Yue suddenly felt those two on set were an eyesore.
The little assistant was originally watching quietly when she suddenly heard a disdainful snort from her boss beside her.
“Is there a need to be that happy while talking to a ‘fiancé’?”
“Acting is acting, why are they standing so close?”
“Still smiling? Is it really that worth being happy about?”
The little assistant looked at her boss’s back, then at Teacher Su on the set, whose mouth was barely even upturned and then at the gap between the two actors that was large enough to fit an entire person.
She silently covered her face. “Jie, keep your voice down.”
Guan Yue crossed her arms, displeased. “What? If she dares to do it, why can’t I say something?”
