A Fatal Attraction from Lawyer A - Chapter 71
The stability of his pregnancy had allowed Gu Yuxi to become increasingly uninhibited. Although the reproductive cavity remained narrow, his Alpha constitution granted him significantly more stamina than a typical Omega.
Luo Panzhi had experienced this firsthand.
However, Gu Yuxi was only five months pregnant. No matter how much they desired each other, they couldn’t be too greedy. Had Luo Panzhi not sternly insisted on stopping to avoid harming the baby, Gu Yuxi certainly wouldn’t have been willing to end the encounter so soon.
After showering, the two lay in bed—one brooding with lingering desire, the other helplessly trying to soothe him.
“Luo Panzhi, you’re incompetent.”
Gu Yuxi stared at the ceiling in silence for a moment before dropping that sentence. As soon as the words left his lips, he was pulled into a firm embrace. From above, he heard the man’s deep, low chuckle. “What did you say?”
Gu Yuxi allowed himself to be held but ignored the question. He thought to himself: Isn’t it true? What does doing it just once mean? How could once possibly be enough?
He sighed and pulled the duvet over his head. He simply wanted another round.
“Tell me, how exactly am I ‘incompetent’? Is two hours at a time not enough?” Pushed to his limit by Gu Yuxi’s antics, Luo Panzhi helplessly pulled the duvet away from the other man’s head. “You need to remember there’s a baby in your belly. Exercise some restraint. Two hours is more than sufficient.”
The duvet had ruffled Gu Yuxi’s hair. Stripped of his usual meticulously groomed lawyer persona, his hair was soft and messy, giving him a lazy, casual air. He hardly looked like a man in his thirties.
With a blank expression, Gu Yuxi yanked the covers back and turned his back to Luo Panzhi. He had even gone so far as to ask Qi Lin for advice on how to act spoiled. His “spoiling” had been successful, and Luo Panzhi seemed satisfied, but he hadn’t achieved the end result he actually wanted.
His eyes lowered. Lately, his desires seemed to be frequent and overwhelming. Was it due to the pregnancy?
“Baby, do you still want more?” Sensing Gu Yuxi’s sullen mood, Luo Panzhi hugged him from behind and waved his hand in front of him. “Should I use this to help you?”
With a sharp smack, Gu Yuxi swatted the hand away.
Luo Panzhi couldn’t help but laugh. He pinched Gu Yuxi’s cheek and leaned in to kiss him. “You’ve become quite the temperamental one since you got pregnant. Have you noticed?”
“No.” Gu Yuxi buried his face in the pillow to dodge Luo Panzhi’s hand.
Laughing, Luo Panzhi fished him out of the blankets. “Can such a small thing really make you this unhappy? I told you—once the baby is born and you’ve recovered, we can do whatever you want. But for now, you have to endure. If you’re really struggling, I can help you.”
“Is ‘helping’ useful?” Gu Yuxi looked up. The frustration of their interrupted passion flared into irritation. “From now on, I’ll see you every single day. You’re the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing I see before I sleep. Doesn’t that mean I’ll want you every—”
Luo Panzhi leaned down and kissed him. The word “you” was swallowed before it could leave his lips.
The anger in Gu Yuxi’s eyes vanished instantly, replaced by a hazy blur. He surrendered to the kiss almost immediately, feeling as though his very breath was being plundered. Luo Panzhi gripped the back of his neck, tilting his head up to deepen the contact.
Gu Yuxi gazed at Luo Panzhi blankly. Luo Panzhi didn’t close his eyes either; he watched him back, his gaze so full of deep affection and indulgence that Gu Yuxi felt he might drown in that tenderness.
Despite having no prior dating experience, this man seemed naturally gifted. He could kiss someone until their soul felt light and they were left craving more. Gu Yuxi loved kissing Luo Panzhi; they had once spent an entire hour doing nothing but that.
In the spacious bedroom, the intoxicating scent of Oolong Brandy pheromones drifted out, a drunken, mellow aroma that enveloped the Vanilla Juliet scent. It was as if the brandy intended to gently crush the rose within its embrace, distilling its fragrance.
The pheromones of the two Alphas did not repel each other. Instead, they blended harmoniously—not in a traditional “soft meets firm” way, but as a fusion of two equal powers.
Under the covers, Luo Panzhi held Gu Yuxi close. Seeing the other man’s dazed expression, he decided to kiss him into a stupor. If he could coax him to sleep, Gu Yuxi would stop dwelling on his unsatisfied desires.
Since the second trimester began, Luo Panzhi knew Gu Yuxi was often preoccupied with their unfinished business. Naturally, he wanted it too, but as Gu Yuxi’s husband, he couldn’t let him be reckless. He had to be responsible for Gu Yuxi and their unborn child.
Thus, he could only coax and distract him. He would take it one day at a time; four months would pass quickly.
After an indeterminate amount of time spent kissing and catching their breath, Luo Panzhi felt Gu Yuxi’s body go limp. He pulled back slightly, pressing his forehead against Gu Yuxi’s, and patted his back gently.
“Baby, shall we sleep now?”
Just as he thought Gu Yuxi was drifting off, he saw a single finger extend in front of him. He froze.
Gu Yuxi looked at him, holding up his index finger with a sincere gaze. “Please. Just one more time.”
The man in his arms was clearly dazed from the kissing, the corners of his eyes flushed crimson, yet he looked up and shook that one finger slightly. In a raspy, lazy voice, he whispered a soft “please.”
That finger undoubtedly shook Luo Panzhi’s heart. If this isn’t acting spoiled, what is?
Luo Panzhi felt his heart skip a beat. It was a surge of joy he couldn’t describe. He realized that from the moment he fell for Gu Yuxi, his heart had never stopped racing for him. What kind of spell has this man cast to make me so utterly devoted?
Gu Yuxi was still immersed in the pleasure of the kiss. The emotions stirring within him were fermenting like an excitement about to reach its peak, lacking only that final spark.
Seeing that Luo Panzhi wasn’t responding, his brow drooped. He wiggled his finger again in a sincere plea. “Just once. I promise, only once, and then no more. Baby, just once, okay?”
The most lethal form of acting spoiled is the kind that happens unintentionally. Even his fingers were coaxing him.
Unable to resist the heartache of desire, Luo Panzhi took Gu Yuxi’s finger and kissed it. “Be good. We can’t go all the way. I’ll help you.”
As the night deepened, the snow fell harder outside. While the cold pressed against the windows, the room remained wrapped in warmth. Ultimately, under Luo Panzhi’s gentle persuasion, Gu Yuxi chose to yield.
The sound of the shower echoed from the bathroom.
Gu Yuxi lay on his side, listening to the rushing water. He slowly closed his eyes, clutching the duvet in front of him. Finally, the corners of his lips turned up, his expression one of complete contentment.
His Luo Panzhi truly was the best Alpha in the world. The family warmth and romantic love he had never experienced in his life were all found in Luo Panzhi—and they were incredibly intense.
He had once been happy to differentiate as an Omega, only to be heartbroken by the reality of it later. Then, after his unexpected re-differentiation into an Alpha, he had suffered even more. In one’s lowest moments, the mind tends to wander. Back then, it was President Chu and President Luo who saved him, pulling him from the abyss and giving him the courage to face the future.
And now, he had met Luo Panzhi.
This young Alpha possessed a strength and tenderness that seemed boundless. He shouldered the responsibilities of the Galaxy Group and the pressures of the Galaxy Research Institute. Even when facing difficulties, he chose to go against the current, becoming the very foundation of Gu Yuxi’s confidence.
Luo Panzhi’s pheromones flowed through Gu Yuxi’s veins. This Alpha was just like his scent: seemingly casual and mellow, but actually steady and gentle.
Gu Yuxi had first fallen for Luo Panzhi’s pheromones, then deliberately sought him out. He had questioned whether he approached him because of the scent or true love, but finally, he was certain: he loved Luo Panzhi. Because when a person is at their most emotionally fulfilled, they feel that being alive is the most meaningful thing.
To possess Luo Panzhi and stand by his side—that was his luck and his purpose.
After tossing and turning, he noticed the phone on the nightstand vibrating. It was Luo Panzhi’s. He hadn’t intended to answer, but as the vibration persisted, he sat up and picked it up.
The screen displayed: “Big Dad.”
It was a call from President Luo (Luo Qingye).
The phone continued to vibrate relentlessly. Sensing it might be urgent, he answered. Before he could speak, President Luo’s deep, serious voice came through the line.
“Youpan, I know the World Health Organization and the Inspectorate are putting public pressure on you because of the infectious disease outbreak in L Continent. They want you to take Yuxi for a new BO-type Inducer Neutralization Reaction Report to prove that re-differentiation isn’t a contagion, but a genetic issue. But don’t be impulsive and head-butt the Health Bureau. This isn’t just about the Galaxy Group anymore; it’s a national issue.”
“Because Yuxi is pregnant, it’s not appropriate for him to do the report now. However, the Research Institute is looking for a way to perform a neutralization report when his pheromone concentration peaks, without affecting his health.”
“This report isn’t just to prove re-differentiation isn’t a disease. We need to prove that the BO-type Inducer can effectively inhibit the side effects of genetic defects in re-differentiation. Yuxi is the best proof of that.”
“Now, Big Dad is asking you: if the Institute can guarantee Yuxi’s safety, are you willing to bring him in for the report? Of course, if you aren’t, I won’t force it. With the strength of our Galaxy Group, proving the Inducer works isn’t hard—we just have to weather a very nasty period of public pressure.”
Gu Yuxi looked toward the bathroom, his eyes shimmering. So this was what Luo Panzhi had been busy with?
He knew a zoonotic disease caused by re-differentiation had broken out in L Continent. Since the cause hadn’t been fully investigated, was the public blaming the re-differentiation phenomenon itself?
As the world’s first case of re-differentiation—and a patient with a genetic defect who recovered well under the BO-type Inducer—he was the best example for the Galaxy Group to prove this was purely a genetic matter.
Was Luo Panzhi’s temper in the study earlier because of this?
“Big Dad, it’s me.”
Luo Qingye on the other end froze for two seconds. His expression turned subtle upon hearing Gu Yuxi’s voice. “Oh, Yuxi. Is Luo Panzhi not there?”
Gu Yuxi leaned against the headboard, silent for a moment. “Big Dad, can the Institute really guarantee this check won’t affect my body?”
“Yes. The Institute has found a way. We only need to perform an amniocentesis when your pheromones peak. After extraction, we can obtain a report on the neutralization reaction with Youpan’s pheromones after about a week of chromosome cultivation.”
Gu Yuxi asked again, “Is this what has been bothering him lately?”
“Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I’ve told him to focus entirely on accompanying you. With me at the Group, there won’t be any problems.”
Gu Yuxi was stunned. So Luo Panzhi had pushed his work aside and asked President Luo to return to the office just so he could stay home with him? He had told him nothing and carried it all alone?
“Big Dad, if I’m willing to do it… can it help the Galaxy Group?”
Luo Qingye didn’t answer immediately.
Gu Yuxi rubbed the ring on his ring finger, seemingly making a final decision. Hearing the water in the bathroom stop, he spoke quickly: “As long as it helps the Galaxy Group and helps Luo Panzhi, I’m willing to do it. But… don’t tell Luo Panzhi yet.”
Luo Panzhi had done so much for him. It was time he did something for Luo Panzhi.
