A Delicate Beauty Holding a Villain’s Script - Chapter 9
Shen Yiqing had been out of it all day. His feet felt light, as if he were treading on cotton, without any solid ground beneath him.
It was currently lab class. The instructor paced back and forth, correcting the students’ mistakes. Normally, Shen Yiqing would have disdained such a simple course, but today he had slipped up multiple times. His gaze kept drifting toward the other side of the room, and he didn’t even realize he had grabbed the wrong reagent.
After being corrected several times, Shen Yiqing pinched his own arm hard. He used such force that small crescent marks quickly appeared on his skin, oozing a bit of blood. The sharp pain finally snapped him out of his overwhelming joy, allowing him to barely regain his focus and finish the experiment at hand.
“Report, I’m finished.”
Despite his earlier errors, he was still the first to complete the task. The instructor walked over, lifted the test tube, and checked the color and purity. Satisfied, he nodded. “Mmm, not bad. You pass.”
Shen Yiqing caught a glimpse of the beauty in his peripheral vision, who was currently frowning in frustration. He instinctively spoke up, “Professor, may I help the other students?”
“Of course you can!” The instructor was delighted by such a helpful student and waved him off with a smile.
Thus, Li Rangnian, who was still agonizing over the exact dosage of the reagent, only saw a shadow fall over his head. A warm breath brushed against his neck from behind, enveloping him completely.
The laboratory was spacious, with many sets of equipment separated by dividers to create individual workstations. Others could only see a person from the shoulders up, hiding any movements behind the partitions.
A pair of hands reached out from behind, gently encircling Li Rangnian’s slender and flexible waist. After a brief moment of stiffness, his body slowly relaxed. Shen Yiqing savored the wonderful sensation and let out a sigh near the youth’s ear: “Li-mei…”
Li Rangnian’s earlobes couldn’t take such stimulation and quickly turned bright red. A flush spread down to his neck, and the beauty’s legs instinctively felt weak.
“What are you doing? Don’t bother me.” Li Rangnian wasn’t used to such intimate behavior. He gave a small, ineffective wiggle but couldn’t break free. He looked around worriedly. “What if someone sees!”
“…Be good, I’m not doing anything. Li-mei, let me teach you.” Shen Yiqing was slightly taller, allowing his chin to rest easily on Li Rangnian’s shoulder. He raised his arms and slowly grasped those long, slender hands, guiding them personally.
His larger hands enveloped the smaller ones, leading them to pick up a purple reagent and precisely pour out 5ml before mixing it into a colorless liquid in the correct order. Small bubbles soon rose within the vessel, hissing and popping as if the water were boiling. Once it cooled, the light purple liquid had transformed into a perfect blue.
Li Rangnian’s eyes lit up. “Boyfriend, you’re so amazing!” He had been struggling for ages, but his measurements were always off, resulting in an impure color.
“Ahem, it’s nothing.” Shen Yiqing loved the word “boyfriend” far too much. He chewed on the word silently in his heart countless times, and his usually cold expression became visibly joyous.
Reluctantly letting go, Shen Yiqing, acting quite like a deviant, leaned into the youth’s nape and took a deep, addictive breath. With his craving satisfied, his face beamed with a contented smile.
Li Rangnian raised his hand with righteous confidence: “Professor, I’ve finished!”
“Excellent. The color is very pure; you pass.” After checking the work, the instructor told the other students not to rush and to take their time.
Under the envious gazes of the others, the two walked out of the laboratory.
The virtual sky overhead was a deep azure, with soft white clouds drifting by in changing shapes. The boulevard was lined with lush, shady trees. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, forming countless dancing spots of light on the ground.
Perhaps influenced by the serene atmosphere, Shen Yiqing’s heart began to beat violently. He stole frequent glances at the person beside him. His gaze shifted downward, landing on the hand hanging at the youth’s side.
Hold it? Don’t hold it? Hold it? Don’t hold it…
His thoughts were a chaotic mess. Two little versions of himself were brawling in his mind. One screamed, “Just grab it, you idiot! Seize the moment!”
The other grabbed his hair and sneered, “You only just confirmed the relationship and you’re already holding hands? Too forward! You’re an Omega!”
“Who says an Omega can’t be proactive! Being beautiful makes you right! Li-mei is so beautiful, what’s wrong with being a bit assertive? A great beauty deserves to be pursued!”
“Damn you, shut up…”
Shen Yiqing felt like his head was about to explode. He shook his head vigorously. In the next second, a hand touched the top of his head. “Hey, what’s this?”
His pupils dilated as they reflected a flawless face. Those “autumn water” eyes were looking at him with a sparkling smile.
Clean fingers pinched a leaf, waving it before his dazed eyes. “Look, a leaf.”
Shen Yiqing’s face turned red from his neck to the tips of his ears. He felt like steam was about to rise from his head. Uncontrollably, he reached out and grabbed the beauty’s hand.
“?” Before Li Rangnian could react, he felt a sudden force pull him forward. He slammed hard into the other man’s chest.
His nose hit the warm chest and immediately turned red. The slight sting caused physiological tears to well up in his eyes. He complained in a spoiled voice, “Shen Yiqing, what’s wrong with you! That really hurt!”
Shen Yiqing could only manage a muffled “sorry” before he pulled the youth into his arms with undeniable strength. His palms gripped the slender waist, and one hand slid up the spine to the back of the head, pressing the youth toward him.
It was an overwhelming kiss, chaotic, unrefined, and laced with unspeakable desire.
Li Rangnian’s lips were bitten until they were a vivid, bruised red, glistening with moisture. He was powerless to stop the aggressive invasion. Even the tears that involuntarily escaped the corners of his eyes were tenderly kissed away. Feather-light kisses fell on his forehead and eyes before they merged again, a hint of saltiness passing between them.
“Huff… huff…” Finally released, Li Rangnian’s eyes were watery and his breath was ragged. A dash of vivid red bloomed from the corners of his eyes, looking exceptionally seductive.
He glared at the man who was still savoring the moment, slamming his fist into the other’s shoulder with what he thought was great force. He hissed, “You’re crazy! Bastard!”
Shen Yiqing caught the fist in his hand. Seeing that the knuckles were already turning red, he felt a pang of heartache. “Be good, Li-mei. If you need to vent, you can bite me. Don’t use your hands.”
In his eyes, the current Li Rangnian looked like a crushed peach blossom or a rose soaked in dew, emitting an alluring sweetness. Li-mei was truly too cute; even his “attacks” were like a kitten’s, that bit of strength meant nothing, he just feared the youth would chafe his own delicate skin.
Li Rangnian kept struggling, like a cat being held by the scruff of the neck. He was full of rebellion, paws flailing as he tried to run, his eyes darting around alertly.
“Alright, alright, I’ll let you go.” Seeing that the youth couldn’t break free and looked like he was about to cry, Shen Yiqing’s heart swayed. He quickly let go, fearing the youth would truly be angry. The moment he let go, the beauty jumped several steps away, glaring at him with a “fierce” expression.
“…”
Shen Yiqing’s hands felt itchy again. He really wanted to catch Li-mei and pin him down for more kisses, kiss him until he was huffing with rage, and then kiss away the tears when he finally cried. That look was truly beautiful.
But not now. Li-mei was having a little tantrum.
The Omega licked his lips, swallowing the strawberry-flavored saliva, and gave a gentle smile. “Are you angry? Be good, Li-mei. It’s my fault. I won’t do it again next time.”
051, who had just been released from the “dark room,” was indignant: (Cunning human! Taking advantage of my Host! He’s a total villain!) It had just been admiring its Host’s peerless beauty when it saw the Protagonist Shou’s “salty pig hand” reach out. The next moment, its vision went black as it was locked away! Hmph, hateful human! I have no grudge with you, why hurt me like this?
Li Rangnian pointed at him, his voice trembling. “You still want a next time? I’m telling you, not a chance! Hmph!”
He turned and ran at his top speed, looking back as he fled, terrified of being caught again.
Shen Yiqing touched the corner of his mouth. The soft sensation still lingered there. He couldn’t help but break into a doting, infatuated smile.
The two figures intertwined, separated, and left one after the other. The boulevard returned to its usual tranquility.
Shortly after they left, the leaf Li Rangnian had picked was suddenly crushed under a shoe with a crisp crunch.
Following the shoe upward were incredibly long legs. The hem of a long black windbreaker swayed slightly with the movement. A metallic belt traced a lean, powerful waist. The chest muscles were full, and the physique was perfect.
That handsome, charming face was currently covered in dark clouds. His eyes held a brewing thunderstorm.
The wind blew through the hair on his forehead. The man with “sword eyebrows and star eyes” looked down at the pulverized leaf and suddenly let out a cold laugh.
“I originally wanted to take it step-by-step, but now… it seems I shouldn’t have hesitated.”
He should have plucked that beautiful rose the moment he noticed it, peeling it petal by petal and letting it melt in his mouth, rather than letting it bloom and be picked by someone else.
Li-mei, you are too naive. You provoked me but treat me as a friend, remaining blind to the danger I pose…
An Alpha has no empathy, only the instinct to plunder. The beast imprisoned in his heart broke its cage, wanting nothing more than to tear apart everyone who coveted his beauty.
Half the semester flew by. Li Rangnian had flipped through that thick pharmacology book several times, and the plot finally arrived at the day of Survival Training.
The Federal First Military Academy frequently held such training, involving wilderness survival or field combat exercises. A vast number of people participated; not only the Binhai campus but also students from two other campuses were drafted for the training.
Alphas would be randomly dropped into the wilderness by aircraft for a month-long survival exercise. Each person carried a personal signal device to call for help in case of danger, and warships patrolled the skies. Omegas, on the other hand, only needed to follow the rescue teams into the wilderness to provide medical assistance after receiving a distress signal.
The massive plaza was densely packed with people waiting for aircraft transport. It was a sea of moving heads that could make someone with a phobia of crowd’s faint on the spot.
“Li-mei! Li-mei! We’re over here!” Several roommates from his dorm jumped up and waved, trying to get his attention.
At 182cm, Li Rangnian looked exceptionally “small” among the crowd of towering Alphas. Others were brawny, powerful, and stable; he was delicate and weak. Trying to squeeze through was basically impossible. Moreover, the air was a thick mix of various scents, with the sharp smell of sweat being particularly overpowering.
Just as he was furrowing his brows in distress, someone crouched down, grabbed his legs, and lifted him onto their shoulders with a slight shove.
“Ah!” Li Rangnian let out a short cry of surprise. He instinctively squeezed his legs around the person’s head and leaned down. His reaching hands were caught and held steady, stabilizing his entire body.
“Don’t be afraid, Li-mei.”
A deep voice reached him, carrying an undetectable hint of a smile. “I’m right here.”
