A Delicate Beauty Holding a Villain’s Script - Chapter 10
Li Rangnian was slightly stunned. That voice was so familiar, could it be the Protagonist Gong?
A calloused palm tightly gripped his hand, rubbing the delicate skin on the back until it turned red and itchy. Li Rangnian asked hesitantly, “Brother Qin Yuan?”
From his perspective, he could only see a slightly prickly, fuzzy head between his legs, but he recognized the person simply by that unique scent.
The man easily hoisted him higher, allowing Li Rangnian to see his surroundings more clearly, overlooking the entire scene from above. The astonished gazes from the crowd made his face feel hot. “Put me down, Brother Qin Yuan. I can squeeze through on my own…”
“It will be quick. Don’t be afraid.” Qin Yuan strode forward, radiating a terrifying pressure. The Alphas clogging the path ahead instinctively cleared a way.
Qin Yuan soon reached an open area, knelt on one knee, and gently lowered the youth from his shoulders. Upon landing, Li Rangnian’s legs were a bit weak; he had to lean against the other man’s firm, powerful arm to stand steady. He stammered, “Th—Thank you, Brother Qin Yuan!”
Qin Yuan was still recalling the warm sensation of those long legs pressed against his cheeks. His fingertips rubbed together with a sense of regret, though his face remained as cold and aloof as ever. “I didn’t scare you, did I?”
“Anyone would be scared if their legs were suddenly grabbed, right?” Once he caught his breath, Li Rangnian began to scold him, “Don’t do that next time!”
“Okay, my fault.” Qin Yuan apologized obediently, his eyes sweeping over the youth’s lips with a gaze so heavy it felt tangible, like a predator surveying its privately marked territory.
As Alphas and Omegas gathered separately, Li Rangnian couldn’t find the Protagonist Shou, so he temporarily stayed by Qin Yuan’s side. On a high platform, a middle-aged male Alpha in a sharp suit was giving a speech, his tone powerful and resonant, easily igniting the excitement of everyone present.
“Now, on behalf of the Federal First Military Academy, I declare the survival training officially begun!”
“Woo-hoo!”
A large crowd in the plaza cheered, joy evident on every face. All the academy instructors mobilized, gathering their assigned students and carefully detailing all precautions.
As luck would have it, Li Rangnian and Qin Yuan were assigned to the same group. Others in the group were quite familiar with each other, cracking jokes:
“Just you watch, kid. Your ‘daddy’ here will definitely survive longer than you!”
“Stop talking crap. I’m way stronger than you!”
“Hey, Brother Qin, who is this…”
A handsome Alpha named Li Yuan approached with a grin, draping an arm over Qin Yuan’s shoulder, his eyes sparkling with teasing intent as he looked at the bewildered beauty. “Hello there, I’m Li Yuan.”
“Hello, I’m Li Rangnian.” Encountering an Alpha who showed him kindness surprised Li Rangnian. He gave a bashful, sweet smile, his eyes curving into crescents and his dimples deepening.
“Keep your hands to yourself.” Qin Yuan shifted his shoulder to shake off the hand and introduced Li Rangnian with a hint of reluctance, “My roommate. We train together normally.” As for “Li-mei,” he was loath to let others know more. He shot Li Yuan a sharp look, a silent warning not to say too much.
Li Yuan, of course, knew who Li Rangnian was. This Omega-like beauty was famous on the campus wall and closely connected to wealthy heirs like Qin Yuan and Shen Yiqing. He was only acting oblivious to test Qin Yuan’s attitude. His family had just entered the Federal Capital Star and desperately needed a springboard into high society. The Qin family was that perfect ladder.
Seeing Qin Yuan’s protective stance, Li Yuan understood instantly. Unfazed by the cold shoulder, he said friendly to Li Rangnian: “Since we’re in the same group, let’s work together and pass this training smoothly!”
“Also, if there’s anything you don’t understand, just ask Brother Qin. He’s first every time, he knows everything and can teach you.” Li Yuan winked at Li Rangnian. “Don’t worry, Brother Qin will definitely be willing!”
Qin Yuan let out a light cough, appearing flustered for the first time in front of others. His eyes stared brightly at Li Rangnian, though he spoke casually: “Being first is nothing, just a matter of convenience. Li-mei, if you don’t mind, just stay with me throughout.”
“Then I’ll have to trouble you, Brother Qin Yuan!” Li Rangnian cooperatively tucked his arm into Qin Yuan’s, standing close in a display of “fragility.”
Qin Yuan felt his entire arm go numb a tingling sensation traveled from his fingertips to his brain, making his fingers tremble. “It’s no trouble.”
Vrrrrm—
A massive shadow fell from above, like a stage curtain slowly closing, nearly blocking out the light. Looking up, they saw a gargantuan aircraft, dark grey and ten stories tall. It looked like a deep-sea behemoth floating in the sky.
Blue flames erupted from the tail, raising the ambient temperature by several degrees. The beast landed silently on the wide clearing, its hatch doors sliding open to reveal a bottomless corridor. Everyone felt tiny before it, like ants beneath a towering tree. This was the awe of future technology.
The crowd moved in an orderly fashion. Omegas entered first, followed by Alphas. The interior was massive, divided into dining areas, equipment rooms, and leisure zones, with dormitories on the upper floors. Alphas were paired two to a room to look after each other.
Li Rangnian was, once again, paired with Qin Yuan.
Inside the room, Qin Yuan felt strangely hot and broke into a sweat. He pulled out combat uniforms from the wardrobe, chose a smaller size, and handed it to Li Rangnian: “You wash first.”
“Okay.” Li Rangnian took the clothes, set them aside, and immediately grabbed the hem of his shirt to pull it over his head.
“Li-mei, you—”
Before Qin Yuan could finish his warning, the beauty had already nimbly stripped off his top, revealing a young, beautiful physique. His skin was pale, not overly thin, with smooth lines. A drop of sweat rolled down his abdomen, sliding lower.
Qin Yuan’s gaze followed it uncontrollably until it vanished near the waistband. He swallowed hard, his throat feeling dry. As Li Rangnian’s hands moved to his waistband, Qin Yuan’s face felt like it was on fire. His gaze darted away, yet precisely landed on those slender, well-defined hands.
The sound of rustling clothes echoed in the room. The exposed legs were slender, with a creamy luster and impossibly white skin. For some reason, Qin Yuan caught a glimpse of a certain area and felt his thirst intensify.
“I’ll go wash then.” Unaware of the burning gaze, Li Rangnian picked up the clean clothes and turned toward the bathroom. His movements were full of grace, his protruding shoulder blades looking like butterfly wings about to take flight.
Left alone, the Alpha’s expression darkened. His fingers curled as his eyes locked onto the discarded clothes on the floor. After a moment of internal struggle, he slowly knelt, picked up the clothes, and took a deep, greedy breath.
The taste of sweet and sour strawberries seemed to dance on his taste buds, plump, juicy fruit bursting in his mouth. Not enough, still not enough… He closed his eyes, obsessively sniffing the scent on the clothes, trying to leave his own mark on them.
After a long time, the Alpha looked up with a sated expression, like a predator that had finally been fed. His keen hearing captured every splash of water from the bathroom, his mind conjuring images of the beauty’s shy face and perfect body hidden behind the misty steam.
When Li Rangnian emerged, the dirty clothes had already been tossed into the washing machine. Qin Yuan’s face was flushed and his eyes were bloodshot, looking quite high-strung.
Li Rangnian hesitated, then asked softly, “Brother Qin Yuan, your face looks a bit off… are you sick?”
“I’m fine. Thank you, Li-mei. Go get some rest.” Qin Yuan clutched his clothes, his posture awkward as he hurried toward the bathroom. As they brushed past each other, Li Rangnian smelled a familiar scent.
“…” Li Rangnian turned back, only to see the other man practically flee into the bathroom, leaving only a blurred shadow against the frosted glass door.
Thinking nonsense again. Li Rangnian shook his head. Feeling refreshed after his shower, he took a flying leap onto the soft bed and rolled around happily. “Yay! Sleep time!”
051 mimicked him, rolling around on the blankets until it was dizzy, finally collapsing into Li Rangnian’s arms with its head spinning.
After resolving his “issue” and taking a quick shower, Qin Yuan emerged to find the Alpha’s peaceful sleeping face. His heart suddenly grew quiet. He stood under the soft light, damp and silent, gazing at the sleeping beauty. Finally, he leaned down and pressed a chaste kiss to the youth’s forehead.
“Goodnight, Li-mei.”
The next morning, Qin Yuan woke up refreshed while the person beside him was still dead to the world. He reached into the covers, felt the soft waist of the beauty, and easily scooped him up.
“Mmm, so sleepy…” Li Rangnian refused to wake, hanging on him like a koala, his face tucked into the crook of Qin Yuan’s neck, his warm breath tickling the skin. Taking advantage of the daze, Qin Yuan planted a heavy kiss on his cheek before carrying him to the sink.
When the warm, damp cloth rubbed across his face, Li Rangnian finally woke up, batted the hand away, and struggled down to the floor.
After getting ready, they stepped into the hallway. It was already crowded with people chatting or looking down at the scenery below. Taking the lift to the first floor, they saw several Omegas already dining.
Li Rangnian immediately spotted the Protagonist Shou, who was eating alone. He looked cold and noble, and others were staying away from him. Perhaps sensing the gaze, the youth looked up, his eyes sharp as knives.
“Li-mei?!” The person he thought of day and night suddenly appeared. Shen Yiqing stood up abruptly in excitement, ignoring his fallen utensils as he strode over.
Shen Yiqing reached Li Rangnian quickly, his joy making him completely ignore Qin Yuan’s presence. “Li-mei, which room are you in? When do you like to eat? Can I come find you later?”
Dizzied by the questions, Li Rangnian didn’t have time to answer before Qin Yuan stepped forward, blocking the path between them.
Qin Yuan’s voice was cold: “Shen Yiqing, there is a boundary between Alphas and Omegas. As an Omega, perhaps you should mind yours?”
“I am talking to my boyfriend. It’s not an outsider’s place to butt in.” Shen Yiqing ignored him entirely, his gaze melting as he looked at his beloved. “Li-mei, okay?”
“Of course! I wanted to see you most!” Remembering his mission, Li Rangnian pushed the Protagonist Gong aside to face Shen Yiqing. He smiled brilliantly: “I missed you so much these past few days, Boyfriend~”
“I missed you too, baby…” Hearing the directness, Shen Yiqing’s hands trembled with excitement. He wanted nothing more than to pull him into a hug.
The ignored Qin Yuan felt a surge of violent rage. He forced his anger down, asking syllable by syllable: “Li-mei… you’re in a relationship?”
He desperately hoped Li-mei was just being misled, but the youth answered impatiently: “Duh, isn’t it obvious? Stop bothering me, I’m leaving!”
“Wait, I… Li-mei!”
The beautiful moments from before replayed in his mind, forming a sharp contrast with the youth’s current coldness. Veins popped on his forehead as sweat dripped from his hairline. Qin Yuan was on the verge of losing control.
Shen Yiqing gave him a mocking look and led his “treasure” away, leaving Qin Yuan alone like a trapped beast, wanting to tear them apart, yet hesitating to reveal his true, darkest side.
One last time, Li-mei. I gave you a chance.
Qin Yuan suddenly let out a laugh, cold and cruel. As the heir to the Qin family, he had always had everything his way. His harsh upbringing had made him arrogant on the outside and ruthless on the inside. A “favored son of heaven” like him had never tasted failure, nor had he ever moved his heart for anyone.
Only Li-mei, only Li-mei was worth his attention. From initial interest to wanting to protect, then to being unconsciously captivated… he had even enjoyed the time they spent together without speaking.
His clumsy attempts to please and his fake “gentle” posture meant nothing in the youth’s eyes. It hadn’t earned trust; it had only made him lose his long-standing pride.
His first clenched until his nails pierced his palm, but he didn’t care about the pain.
It’s okay, Li-mei. I will let you know that I am the only one suited for you.
