Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 64.1
“If you stop loving me, then I won’t love you either.”
The moment Sui Yu heard those words, her tears fell even harder. She clung tightly to Shen Jueshu, sobbing like a child who had made a terrible mistake—terrified of being discovered by a parent, shrinking away in fear, yet too afraid to confess.
Why? Why does the truth have to be this way?
Her eyes were red and swollen from crying. Why did it have to be this cruel?
Listening to Sui Yu cry like that behind her, Shen Jueshu felt like a giant hand was squeezing her heart, making it ache painfully. She lowered her voice and asked, “Can you tell me now… why you’re like this?”
Sui Yu shook her head through her tears. She couldn’t. She didn’t even know how to explain it.
Shen Jueshu looked up, her eyes briefly unfocused. Then she closed them and sighed quietly. “If you don’t want to talk now, then let’s just eat. Whenever you’re ready, we’ll talk then.”
Once again, she chose to indulge her.
Sui Yu bit her lip, trying not to sob out loud. She knew Shen Jueshu had spoiled her—so much so that she now cried at the slightest thing.
Still unwilling to let go, Sui Yu held her tightly. Shen Jueshu sighed softly, then turned around in her arms. She looked at Sui Yu’s pitiful, tear-streaked face—her nose red from crying—and gently wiped her tears with her thumb.
Her voice was calm. “Looking at you right now, who would believe you’re an Alpha?”
She cried more than any Omega ever did.
Sui Yu sniffled and looked up at her blankly, eyes dazed and full of affection—but also shy and evasive.
Shen Jueshu noticed the look immediately. She smiled faintly and told her to wait outside. Soon, she finished reheating the food. Watching Sui Yu scarf it down without even daring to look up, her gaze grew darker, unreadable.
After they finished eating, Sui Yu still didn’t speak a word about the truth. Shen Jueshu closed her eyes, forcing herself to stay calm, trying to be patient.
She told Sui Yu to go wash up first, and after wrapping up her work, she returned to the bedroom.
This unfamiliar coldness between them made Sui Yu’s heart ache. But she didn’t know how to fix it.
She kept thinking: if she told the truth now, would they lose even this thin thread of closeness?
When Shen Jueshu finally came back, Sui Yu was lying on her side in bed, pretending to be asleep.
Without saying a word, Shen Jueshu went to take a shower. She came out, got into bed, and lay down with her back to Sui Yu. Her nose twitched—there was no trace of the familiar scent of geranium she was used to. Sui Yu’s pheromones were gone.
This strange shift in behavior filled her with a creeping sense of dread.
She suddenly reached for her phone, her expression tightening slightly. She opened her messaging app and tapped into her saved audio messages.
“Wifey~ my darling~ are you done with work yet~?”
“Wifey, were you super busy today? You didn’t reply to me at all.”
“Darling~ your baby really misses you~”
“Wifey~ your baby is already in bed. Without you, it’s just so hard to sleep alone~”
Each voice message was soft and syrupy, dripping with affection.
Sui Yu had been pretending to sleep from the start. The moment Shen Jueshu came in, her whole body tensed. When she heard her lie down next to her, she forced herself to stay still.
But she hadn’t expected this.
The moment Shen Jueshu played the first message, her eyes flew open. Heat surged to her face like fire.
It was her voice.
When she realized what it was, she bolted upright, eyes wide in horror. “Don’t play that!” she shouted, completely mortified.
How could she still have those? And why was she playing them now?
Back then, she’d spoken with no shame—soft, sweet, and full of affection. But hearing them now, in this tense moment, felt like public humiliation.
Shen Jueshu looked up calmly and replied, “I’m just listening to the voice messages my wife sent me. Why do you care?”
Then she tapped on another one.
From her phone came Sui Yu’s voice again, sounding like she had a piece of candy in her mouth:
“Wifey, wifey, do you miss me? Your baby misses you so much~”
Another tap.
“My dearest wifey, do you know where you live? You live right here—in my heart.”
The sheer cringe of it all made Sui Yu’s brain explode. Her whole body flushed with heat and dizziness, and her vision went dark for a second.
But her heart was pounding like crazy.
Shen Jueshu had just called her wifey. She had never used that word in front of her before.
Sui Yu’s nose tingled, her eyes welled up again. She hated that she was crying so easily these days. Lowering her head, she choked out through her tears:
“Why are you doing this? Who bullies people like this?”
This woman really didn’t give her a shred of dignity.
Seeing Sui Yu’s pitiful expression, Shen Jueshu finally set down her phone, no longer teasing. She leaned in, looking at her from close up and said softly, “And you don’t think you’ve been the one bullying me?”
“You suddenly turned cold and distant, didn’t want to see me, even turned your back to me in bed. Sui Yu, don’t you think that’s you hurting me?”
Sui Yu’s tears instantly spilled again. Her body trembled as she lowered her head, overwhelmed by Shen Jueshu’s words. “I just… I didn’t know if you’d still love me after I told you.”
Shen Jueshu placed her hand gently on Sui Yu’s face and lifted her chin, forcing her to meet her eyes.
Her voice was barely above a whisper. “But choosing to push me away like this… have you thought about how that hurts me too?”
“If you shut me out like this… does it really matter whether I love you or not?”
The corners of Shen Jueshu’s eyes had turned red. Her gaze fixed on Sui Yu with intensity—did she even realize what kind of pain her every withdrawal inflicted?
Sui Yu stared back at her in a daze. In those eyes… she saw disappointment.
Shen Jueshu was disappointed in her?
Sui Yu couldn’t take it anymore. She threw herself into Shen Jueshu’s arms, burying her face in her shoulder—clingy and desperate, yet physically revolted by the closeness. The contradiction was unbearable. It was driving her mad.
This was the person she loved. How could she possibly feel disgust?
“Sui Yu… please tell me, what’s really going on?” Shen Jueshu gently cradled her head, her tone tender. Just moments ago, she’d been telling herself to be patient—but clearly, she had overestimated her ability to wait.
When it came to Sui Yu, patience had never been her strength. Even back when Sui Yu didn’t understand her own feelings, Shen Jueshu had been desperate to become the only one in her eyes.
And under Shen Jueshu’s soft words, something inside Sui Yu finally gave way. She told her everything that had happened in the restaurant’s private room—but that wasn’t even the most important part.
“Shen Jueshu… I remembered.”
“I remembered everything.”
Huge tears fell onto Shen Jueshu’s shoulder. Sui Yu’s body trembled as her throat tightened, making it nearly impossible to speak.
“What did you remember?” Shen Jueshu asked softly, gently stroking her hair, like comforting a wounded little animal.
Sui Yu closed her eyes. She remembered how, after Fu Xin injected her with the drug, a needle-sharp pain had pierced through her brain. It made her collapse into the chair, utterly powerless. But that pain—sharp and persistent—had broken through something deep inside her. For years, she couldn’t think deeply about her past without getting a splitting headache. But now, she understood why.
Because… she really was Sui Yu.
Or rather, she was—and wasn’t—the same Sui Yu.
“You mean…” Shen Jueshu frowned slightly, catching on. “You’re saying… you’re a split personality?”
Sui Yu nodded slightly, her voice soft and faraway. “She never wanted to become like that. In those terrifying days, she was afraid she’d completely lose herself to anger and darkness. So I was born… I was the part of her that still held on to hope.”
They had shared this body. The primary personality always treated her with kindness. Whenever possible, she’d let her out for a breath of fresh air. As if Sui Yu’s existence could remind her that she wasn’t entirely lost—that she still had a gentle, warm side.
And that side… wasn’t controlled by the story’s script. She was free.
Shen Jueshu slowly closed her eyes, piecing it together. “Then how did you end up in another world?”
Sui Yu winced and closed her eyes tightly. “Because she realized… she still couldn’t resist the pull of the plot. She kept doing things that hurt you.”
“She wanted to change everything. But the only way to do that… was to let me—the one who wasn’t bound by the story—rewrite it.”
“With Uncle Li’s help, she sent me to the real world first. She made me believe I was born and raised there. Meanwhile, she stayed behind, trying to lay the groundwork to make my journey smoother.”
She planned for everything… except the intervention of the Traverser Association.
By the time she couldn’t hold on anymore, when the story once again veered out of control, she brought Sui Yu back. And to truly free this body from the grip of the script… she chose self-erasure.
No wonder—no wonder Uncle Li had told her to find the answer herself.
The answer… had been inside her all along.
After Sui Yu explained everything, Shen Jueshu finally understood why she had been so scared, why she kept pulling away.
She gently pushed Sui Yu back and looked at her disoriented, almost panicked expression.
Then she cupped her face and asked, voice soft as a breeze, “So… all this time, you were afraid I wouldn’t forgive you for what she did?”
Because those experiences… were too painful. Even Shen Jueshu had moments where she thought she couldn’t endure it.
Sui Yu lowered her eyes and gave a small nod. “I know how painful those days were.”
Back then, even just reading about it in the original script felt unbearable. The cruel methods used were inhuman. Shen Jueshu had actually lived through all of that.
Shen Jueshu closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, they were filled with a calm clarity. She looked into Sui Yu’s eyes and said seriously, “Sui Yu, I forgive you.”
“You once told me that someone like me would never be the type to forgive everyone who’s ever hurt her—that becoming some ‘saintly figure’ would be wildly out of character. But Sui Yu, today I’m telling you…”
“With you, I want to be that kind of person. So yes—I forgive you.”
Not just the Sui Yu she loved—the gentle, innocent alter ego who had never caused her any pain—but even the original personality. The things she had done had never been out of true malice. If in the past Shen Jueshu had merely let go of the resentment without forgiving, then now… she chose to forgive entirely, for Sui Yu’s sake.
She didn’t want the person she loved to carry such a heavy burden forever. What she wanted—was to be with her, simply and wholly.
Sui Yu stared at her, completely stunned.
She… she really didn’t blame her?
Her chest ached, and her nose stung. How could Shen Jueshu so easily forgive something that had caused her a lifetime of pain? Why… why was she so good to her?
“If you keep treating me like this,” Sui Yu said through a sob, covering her eyes with one hand, “I’m going to end up completely spoiled.”
She understood why Shen Jueshu forgave her—but how could someone like her ever be worthy of such love?
Shen Jueshu chuckled softly and gently pried Sui Yu’s hand away from her eyes. Looking into her tear-filled, red eyes, she leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to them.
“Because I love you, Sui Yu,” she whispered.
“You already asked me if I would love you no matter what you became.”
“I gave you my answer. So now, Sui Yu—let me ask you: do you still love me?”
Her tone was serious. Her eyes never left Sui Yu’s face, waiting for the answer.
Sui Yu’s heart pounded wildly. Choking on emotion, she threw her arms around Shen Jueshu and held her tightly—desperately.
“Shen Jueshu, I love you. I only love you. I’ve only ever loved you.”
It didn’t matter if it was her or the original personality—they had both only ever loved Shen Jueshu.
Shen Jueshu didn’t mind how tightly Sui Yu clung to her. She wrapped her arms around her in return, finally relaxing with a quiet sigh.
Truthfully, she’d been nervous. She was afraid that after regaining her memories, Sui Yu might feel differently.
The two of them stayed in each other’s arms. As Shen Jueshu softly comforted the sobbing Alpha, something else came to mind.
“You said the drug Fu Xin injected you with suppresses your pheromones?”
“Mm.” Sui Yu nodded. She had already told her everything earlier. Even now, when she touched Shen Jueshu, there was still a faint sense of repulsion in the back of her mind.
But she refused to be controlled by some drug. She wanted to touch Shen Jueshu—she loved her. That was all that mattered.
Shen Jueshu’s expression darkened. Just thinking of Fu Xin, locked away elsewhere, brought a sharp, murderous glint to her eyes. It had been a long time since she’d wanted to kill anyone—but Fu Xin was the first.
“I’ll make her hand over the antidote,” she said coldly, though her voice remained soft.
“No,” Sui Yu said firmly, locking eyes with her. “I’ll do it myself.”
She would never let someone who had ripped open her deepest wounds go unpunished.
Seeing the fury in Sui Yu’s eyes, Shen Jueshu finally relented. But on one condition—she had to be present, or at the very least, have a live feed to monitor everything.
Sui Yu agreed.
After pouring out their hearts and surviving everything that had just happened, both of them were exhausted. Sui Yu washed her tear-streaked face in the bathroom, while Shen Jueshu changed out of her sleepwear, which had been soaked by Sui Yu’s tears.
She looked at the shirt she’d taken off and let out a soft, helpless smile.
Who would’ve thought that in just one night, she’d end up needing to change because an Alpha had cried all over her—twice.
When Sui Yu came out, she immediately saw Shen Jueshu staring at the shirt. It didn’t take long for her to guess what she was thinking.
Flushed with embarrassment, she rushed forward, snatched the shirt from her hands, and tossed it into the laundry basket. “Nothing happened earlier!” she mumbled, red-faced.
It was too humiliating!
Shen Jueshu looked at Sui Yu’s flustered, mortified expression and, in the end, decided to let her off the hook. She pulled her to the bed and gently laid her down, then took out some eyedrops.
“You’ll feel awful tomorrow if you don’t use these.”
“Oh,” Sui Yu replied meekly, letting Shen Jueshu administer the drops. She even massaged around her eyes gently with her fingers afterward.
Once the medicine was absorbed, Shen Jueshu turned off the lights and climbed into bed beside her.
This time, Sui Yu didn’t turn her back.
Instead, she leaned in closer—wanting to be near her.
“If it makes you uncomfortable, then don’t lean over here,” Shen Jueshu said gently.
