Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 57.1
Jiang Siyue froze completely when she saw the headline. Her eyes stared blankly at the screen. After clicking into the article and reading it carefully, she realized the whole thing had started because someone took photos of her going home with Fu Xin. And just like that, a new piece of entertainment gossip was born.
Jiang Siyue: “……”
She silently handed her phone to Fu Xin to show her the title, her expression tinged with helplessness. “Is same-sex dating really this mainstream now?”
If that were true, how safe could Mo Yu’s relationship still be?
Fu Xin glanced at the headline and paused for a moment before chuckling. “Looks like the paparazzi are running out of things to write about.”
Jiang Siyue nodded in agreement. Seriously, what is this? They spent the entire day shopping and no one cared, but just one night staying over turned into a news story?
“Come here,” Fu Xin said, pulling out her phone and waving Jiang Siyue over. Jiang Siyue leaned in, slightly confused, only for Fu Xin to wrap an arm around her shoulders and take a few close-up selfies. Then she said, “I’ll take care of this. You just repost it later.”
She knew that Jiang Siyue was still an idol, and her image mattered. As an actress, Fu Xin had a little more freedom—but Jiang Siyue didn’t have that luxury.
“You’re amazing, Sister Fu!” Jiang Siyue said, touched.
Fu Xin laughed.
While the two of them were calmly working out a solution, on the other side, Li Yi had already noticed the trending topic—well before it went viral. She immediately called Li Jiang.
“You haven’t contacted Miss Jiang at all lately?” she asked directly.
Li Jiang, who sounded a bit down, quietly replied, “No, I haven’t.”
She had also seen the news and watched the video of Jiang Siyue and Fu Xin looking close. She had been stunned.
“You’re so dense! Just like your pheromones!” Li Yi snapped, frustrated beyond belief. No wonder Li Jiang’s scent was that of an elm tree—stubborn and unchanging. She really was emotionally clueless!
Hearing her cousin say that, Li Jiang felt a little wronged. She stayed quiet, not knowing how to respond.
“You just keep bottling everything up. Keep it up, and she’ll end up falling for an Omega instead!” Li Yi scolded, then abruptly hung up the phone. She was seriously starting to worry herself into an early grave!
And she couldn’t afford that. She was already a good few years older than her girlfriend. If she really lost years off her life, she couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her love alone so soon.
Li Jiang stared at the dark phone screen after the call ended, her expression filled with inner conflict. In the end, she sighed softly and closed her eyes.
The online rumors were handled quickly. Fu Xin’s blog post was enough to suppress the buzz.
Jiang Siyue stared at the blog post in disbelief. “Sister Fu… you actually went ahead and said you already like an Alpha—and that you’re still waiting for her?”
Is this what actor freedom looks like?
Fu Xin set her phone down and smiled lightly. “Why wouldn’t I say it? I don’t rely on fans for a living.”
She had been in the industry for fifteen years, mostly acting in serious dramas. All she needed was an audience, not fandom hype.
Jiang Siyue was genuinely envious. Her desire to switch to acting grew even stronger. Thankfully, her company had been giving her solid opportunities. She could take on supporting roles in various productions to build her skills. Once she matured as a performer, she could try for lead roles.
The next morning, when Sui Yu and the others woke up, they naturally found out what had happened the night before. They held their foreheads in disbelief—none of them had expected that Jiang Siyue’s effort to give them some privacy would cause such a mess.
Not long after they woke, Sui Yu received a message from Jiang Siyue. She said she had found a new place and planned to move out.
Jiang Siyue had thought it through before sending that message. Sui Yu had originally invited her to move in so she could keep an eye on her and stop her from chasing someone who didn’t return her feelings. But now, she was no longer that kind of person. She was getting busier with work, and Sui Yu’s relationship was growing stronger. If she kept popping in and out, it might disrupt their time together as a couple.
“Why are you moving out?” Sui Yu asked, puzzled. The apartment was big, with more than enough rooms. Plus, Jiang Siyue was barely around a few days each month. What was the point of moving?
Seeing that message, Jiang Siyue couldn’t help feeling exasperated. Why doesn’t she get it?
“You and your girlfriend should enjoy your time together!”
Now was the perfect stage of their relationship—things were heating up. What if they suddenly wanted to try something spontaneous, like on the living room sofa or in the kitchen? Without her around, they wouldn’t have to worry about getting interrupted!
Sui Yu: “……”
She genuinely hadn’t expected Jiang Siyue to think things through this thoroughly.
“You don’t need to try and talk me out of it! I’ve already made up my mind. I’m going back to pack my things this afternoon!”
“Where are you moving to?” Sui Yu asked, clearly a bit worried.
“I’m moving into the company dormitory. I’ll be staying with Wanwan.”
Hearing that, Sui Yu finally felt somewhat reassured. She reluctantly agreed.
Shen Jueshu came out dressed and noticed the complicated expression on Sui Yu’s face. “What’s wrong?” she asked.
Sui Yu looked up and saw Shen Jueshu wearing the outfit she had picked out for her. Her eyes instantly lit up. As she answered, she walked over and pulled Shen Jueshu into her arms.
“Siyue said she wants to give us some privacy, so she’s planning to move into the company dorm and live with Tang Wan.”
Shen Jueshu paused at that. Ignoring the arm wrapped around her waist, she asked, “She doesn’t feel like she’s in the way anymore?”
Sui Yu sighed with a touch of melancholy. “She’s grown up… she’s ready to fly on her own.”
Maybe Jiang Siyue thought moving out would give her more freedom and comfort.
Shen Jueshu: “……”
She thought for a moment about the conditions in the company dorms. They were all suites, with good facilities and security. Jiang Siyue wouldn’t be uncomfortable there, so she didn’t say anything more.
“I’ll arrange for a couple of extra assistants to help her out,” she said. “Just to take care of her daily needs—so you won’t have to worry.”
The moment Sui Yu heard that, she gave Shen Jueshu a loud kiss on the cheek and said excitedly, “Wife, you’re the best!”
Shen Jueshu’s expression tightened, her irritation starting to bubble up. “Sui Yu!”
Did this woman not realize she just messed up her makeup?
The tone of her voice was enough for Sui Yu to immediately realize she had done something wrong. She lowered her head and apologized obediently, “Sorry, I was wrong.”
Even though, truth be told, she still wasn’t quite sure what she did wrong.
A vein throbbed on Shen Jueshu’s forehead. But seeing how pitiful and well-behaved Sui Yu looked, she eventually just let out a long breath, squished her face, and resigned herself to reapplying her makeup.
Watching her like that, Sui Yu quickly followed behind like a puppy, assisting however she could. Even if she couldn’t actually help, she at least made herself look busy.
When the two finally headed out together, Sui Yu wore a tailored blue suit, while Shen Jueshu was dressed in a matching deep wine-red one—fierce and commanding.
Every time Sui Yu saw Shen Jueshu like this, she couldn’t help but feel like her wife was the definition of a powerful, dominant top. This must be what people in the queer community mean when they talk about “ideal type.”
They arrived together at the Suihe Building. As soon as she got there, Shen Jueshu threw herself into work, while Sui Yu dove straight into the lab and stayed there until noon before finally taking a breath.
She originally wanted to go downstairs and have lunch with Shen Jueshu, but when she pulled out her phone, she saw a message from earlier in the day—Shen Jueshu had already told her she was having lunch with a business partner.
Seeing that, Sui Yu gave up on going downstairs. She casually grabbed a few bites in her office. During that time, she received a message from Jiang Siyue saying she had officially moved out and told her to enjoy the alone time with her “sister-in-law.”
Sui Yu: “……”
Somehow she had a feeling that Jiang Siyue’s imagination had gone wild, probably picturing her and Shen Jueshu setting off sparks all over the place.
She sighed, quietly counting the days on her fingers to figure out when the month would be over.
What she didn’t know was that, on the other side of town, Shen Jueshu had just arrived at her business lunch—and was now staring at her so-called “partner” with a frown.
“You?” Shen Jueshu’s voice was cold.
Qi Siyu smiled. “Didn’t expect President Shen to remember me. I wasn’t expecting to run into you today either.”
She looked cheerful, her eyes glinting as they lingered on Shen Jueshu.
Shen Jueshu’s expression didn’t change. “What a surprise.”
Qi Siyu’s smile deepened. “Since we’ve run into each other, can I have your contact info this time?”
For reasons she couldn’t quite explain, Shen Jueshu simply didn’t like this woman. “Let’s focus on the business discussion first.”
“Of course,” Qi Siyu softened her tone, speaking gently and accommodatingly toward Shen Jueshu.
But Shen Jueshu remained expressionless.
As everyone took their seats, the others in the room quickly sensed the strange dynamic between the two. No one dared to speak first, and the tension made the atmosphere feel stifling.
Qi Siyu rested her hands under her chin, smiling sweetly as she looked at Shen Jueshu. “The moment I saw you, President Shen, I knew choosing your company was the right decision. At first, there were a few terms in the contract we weren’t comfortable with—but now that I’ve seen you, they suddenly don’t seem like such a big deal anymore.”
Most importantly, trading one contract for a chance to get closer to Shen Jueshu? Totally worth it.
When the Suihe staff heard Qi Siyu say that, unease started bubbling up in their hearts. Was this woman trying to steal their President Sui’s partner?
That thought made them even more nervous. If Sui Yu found out, would it drag them down too? They really didn’t want to get fired over something like this!
Shen Jueshu, keeping her voice calm, said, “Well then, since the contract’s settled, let’s eat.”
She had expected this lunch to involve some tough back-and-forth, but unexpectedly, Qi Siyu had agreed far too easily.
“Alright. What kind of food do you like, President Shen?” Qi Siyu asked, picking up the menu and clearly trying to learn Shen Jueshu’s preferences under the pretense of being polite.
“You can just order whatever you like, President Qi.”
“Mmm, okay,” Qi Siyu replied, smiling more brightly than before. Her fingers tapped across the menu as she made her selections. Once she was done, she closed it without asking anyone else for their preferences.
When all the dishes arrived, Shen Jueshu scanned the table—it was entirely filled with her favorite foods. Although her expression didn’t change, her mood grew heavier.
This entire spread… even Sui Yu might not have been able to order it this precisely. But Qi Siyu had managed to.
Instead of feeling flattered, Shen Jueshu felt deeply unsettled—as if her privacy had been violated.
“President Shen, are these dishes all to your liking?” Qi Siyu asked, leaning forward slightly, trying to fish for praise.
Shen Jueshu looked at her and offered a cool, distant smile. “You’ve chosen well, President Qi. They suit my tastes.”
Qi Siyu’s face lit up, as if she had confirmed something she’d been hoping for. The way she looked at Shen Jueshu was now tinged with something deeper—almost possessive.
Shen Jueshu: “……”
This woman… better to keep her at a distance.
The lunch finally ended, though it took some effort. As they were leaving, Qi Siyu reached out and stopped her. “President Shen, you still haven’t given me your contact information.”
Shen Jueshu paused and met Qi Siyu’s persistent gaze. Just as she was about to speak, one of the department directors by her side stepped forward with a professional smile and said, “President Qi, President Shen isn’t directly handling this project. If you need anything, you’re welcome to contact me.”
At that, Shen Jueshu’s expression eased slightly.
But Qi Siyu’s smile vanished. She turned to the director with a sharp look and said coldly, “And who do you think you are? You think you’re qualified to talk to me?”
Her tone was completely different from how she spoke to Shen Jueshu—like night and day.
The director’s face went pale, then flushed. He stood frozen, unable to respond.
Shen Jueshu stepped forward and placed a hand in front of the director, silently signaling for him not to respond. Then she looked at Qi Siyu, lips curled into a faint, icy smile.
“Well then, it looks like there’s no need for this partnership. I don’t work with anyone who disrespects my team.”
Without another word, she gave the signal to leave.
Qi Siyu’s face darkened instantly. She was stunned—completely caught off guard. She actually… turned me down?
Even after Shen Jueshu and her team left the restaurant, Qi Siyu stood there frozen, unable to shake off the humiliation.
“P-President Qi…” one of her subordinates called out timidly.
Qi Siyu turned her head and shot him a cold look. He immediately shut his mouth and said no more.
Staring in the direction Shen Jueshu had left, Qi Siyu’s eyes darkened. One day, she’ll understand how good I could be for her.
By the time Shen Jueshu returned to the company, she had already calmed her emotions. When it came to people who didn’t matter, she never let herself be affected for long.
She arrived just as the lunch break ended. Qin Qing came in to report on work. After going through the updates, she added, “President Shen, the Jiang family’s been unusually quiet lately.”
Too quiet, considering Jiang Bosheng’s usual behavior.
Shen Jueshu’s face remained unreadable. “Keep a close eye. Also pay attention to who he’s been meeting.”
“Understood,” Qin Qing nodded.
After she left, Shen Jueshu twirled the pen in her fingers, thinking through what Jiang Bosheng might be planning. Based on his personality, he wouldn’t go down alone. If he were truly desperate, he’d try to drag others down with him. That meant people he had connections with in the past might feel pressured to protect him.
Looks like I’ll need to take steps to rein them in too.
By the end of the workday, Shen Jueshu still hadn’t seen Sui Yu come downstairs to pick her up. She figured Sui Yu might have reached a critical stage in her experiments and decided to wait in her office, working while she waited.
But time dragged on, and still no sign of Sui Yu.
By 8 PM, Shen Jueshu finally decided to head up herself.
The lab was still brightly lit. When she walked in, she saw everyone hard at work. No one even noticed she was there.
Shen Jueshu stood quietly for a moment, then turned and left, choosing instead to return to her office and wait in silence for Sui Yu to finish.
No one knew what was up with Sui Yu tonight—she was so focused, she didn’t even realize how much time had passed.
Time slipped by. Shen Jueshu had even finished up work scheduled for the next few days, but still, there was no sign of Sui Yu. That was when she suddenly remembered how she once teased her for not spending much time in the lab.
She started regretting ever saying that.
It wasn’t until midnight that Sui Yu finally came rushing downstairs, face glowing with excitement. The moment she saw Shen Jueshu, she threw herself into her arms and hugged her tightly. “Ahhh, finally a breakthrough! I think we’re almost ready to move on to the clinical trial phase!”
As soon as the work wrapped up, she couldn’t wait to share the good news with Shen Jueshu.
Looking at her bright, exhilarated expression, Shen Jueshu sighed softly but didn’t dampen her joy. She ruffled her hair and praised gently, “Not bad. I’m looking forward to the day your results go public.”
This woman always complained about how Shen Jueshu overworked herself, but wasn’t she the same?
Sui Yu blushed and smiled at the praise. Only then did she notice how late it was. Scratching her head sheepishly, she asked, “Wife, have you been waiting long? Are you hungry?”
Now that the excitement was wearing off, her stomach growled in agreement.
“Come on. To celebrate your breakthrough, I’ll take you out for a midnight snack,” Shen Jueshu said, taking her hand.
“Yes!” Sui Yu’s face lit up. As long as she was with Shen Jueshu, even the simplest things felt joyful.
