Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 56.1
Back at home, before heading upstairs, Jiang Siyue said, “By the way, I’ve made plans to go shopping tomorrow. Is there anything you or my sister-in-law need? I can help pick it up for you.”
“Shopping?” Sui Yu was momentarily surprised. Her eyes lit up slightly. “No need! I’ll go with you tomorrow! I want to shop for things myself!”
Thinking back, she realized she hadn’t really bought anything for Shen Jueshu. Since Jiang Siyue was going shopping anyway, she could take the opportunity to get something for Jueshu—and Siyue could help her choose too.
“You want to come too?” Jiang Siyue scratched her head. “I mean, sure, but just so you know, the other person coming is also an Omega. I’m worried you might feel a little uncomfortable.”
“Uncomfortable? You’re all women,” Sui Yu said, completely unfazed. “Whether someone’s an Alpha or Omega, in the end, you’re still women. I’d only feel awkward going out with a guy.”
“Oh… okay then, I’ll let her know,” Jiang Siyue replied, still finding it a bit odd. This homebody actually wanted to go out—especially to go shopping?
After Jiang Siyue went to her room, Sui Yu returned to the one she shared with Shen Jueshu. She took a shower first. In the middle of winter, she put on a V-neck camisole nightdress and happily dialed a video call to Shen Jueshu.
On the other end, Shen Jueshu, whose work was winding down and no longer as hectic, had returned early to her hotel room that evening. Seeing Sui Yu’s video call, she immediately answered.
Unprepared, Shen Jueshu looked at Sui Yu on the screen and froze. “…”
If she wasn’t mistaken, wasn’t that her own nightdress?
“Why are you dressed like that?” she asked. She’d expected Sui Yu to be in a bad mood after staying with her parents.
Sui Yu smiled sheepishly, a little embarrassed. But she winked and said playfully, “I’m seducing you… so we can have a baby~”
Shen Jueshu: “…”
Covering her forehead, she couldn’t bear to look. Truthfully, the camisole didn’t quite suit Sui Yu’s usual style, but seeing how much effort she was putting into trying to seduce her, Jueshu couldn’t help but feel a kind of indescribable cuteness.
“Do you even know how we’d have a baby?” Shen Jueshu asked, suppressing her amusement so as not to discourage the other girl, who was clearly gearing up to act all seductive.
At that, Sui Yu immediately froze. Oh no! She had been so focused on calling Shen Jueshu that she’d forgotten to look it up first!
Just as she was quietly about to exit the call and open a search engine, Shen Jueshu’s soft, slow voice came through, “You don’t need to look it up. I’ll tell you.”
Sui Yu: “…”
“Truly, you know me best, my dear wife,” Sui Yu said with an awkward laugh.
Shen Jueshu chuckled and gave her a sidelong glance. This girl was wearing her guilt all over her face—did she really think no one could see through her?
The thought amused her. Her Alpha had been in this world for months already, yet she didn’t even understand such basic AO knowledge.
“I don’t think I need to explain how pregnancy works between a man and a woman, right?” Shen Jueshu asked, smiling at the girl obediently listening on the screen.
Sui Yu shook her head. That much, at least, she understood—after all, she was in her twenties.
Seeing her response, Shen Jueshu continued, “But it’s different for female AOs. For two women—one Alpha, one Omega—to conceive naturally, the Omega has to be marked during intercourse. Only then is pregnancy possible.”
In contrast, for two Omegas, since they can’t mark each other, conception requires medical assistance through artificial means.
After hearing her explanation, Sui Yu thought about it. Could someone really stay focused enough to perform a marking in the middle of something like that? Her cheeks flushed. Well, she could always try it and find out…
Watching Sui Yu’s reddening face, Shen Jueshu could guess exactly what kinds of thoughts were running through her head. Her smile deepened.
“So… if I want to have a baby, what should I do?” Sui Yu asked sincerely.
Shen Jueshu stared. “…You seriously want to carry the baby yourself?”
Her tone carried a trace of helplessness.
Sui Yu let out a small “Ah,” then added, “Dad said so too.”
Shen Jueshu rubbed her forehead. “Don’t listen to his nonsense.” There was no way she’d let Sui Yu be the one to carry the child. With that jittery, impulsive personality, if she got pregnant, Jueshu would constantly be on edge. It was far more practical for her to handle it herself.
Her expression turned slightly complicated as she pictured Sui Yu pregnant. The thought alone gave her goosebumps. It felt far too risky—Sui Yu might end up stressing the baby away before it was even born.
Sui Yu blinked at her and asked, “But if you’re the one to carry… wouldn’t it hurt a lot?”
She’d never experienced it herself, but she knew pregnancy was difficult—and that childbirth was painful.
Hearing that, Shen Jueshu’s heart softened. In a gentle voice, she replied, “It won’t. Medical technology is very advanced these days—it’s designed to minimize pain.”
With the state promoting childbirth, it made sense that they would provide comprehensive medical support and social benefits, going to great lengths to protect the health of pregnant people and reduce the discomfort of pregnancy and delivery, making the idea of having children less daunting.
Hearing that reassurance, Sui Yu felt a bit better. Still, after thinking for a moment, she said, “Actually, it’s fine if we don’t have children.”
She rubbed her chin thoughtfully. If they didn’t have a child, it would just be the two of them forever! No one else would compete for Shen Jueshu’s love and attention!
Watching her thoughtful expression, Shen Jueshu chuckled softly. “Don’t overthink it. Let nature take its course.”
After all, there were Alpha-Omega couples who couldn’t conceive even if they wanted to.
“Oh, that’s fine too!” Sui Yu nodded cheerfully.
Neither of them—who had only ever kissed—felt that talking about children at this stage was overly premature.
Looking at Sui Yu on the screen, Shen Jueshu spoke softly, “My flight is tomorrow afternoon.”
Thanks to the intense overtime work she’d done recently, she managed to shorten her schedule a bit.
Sui Yu’s eyes lit up. “What time’s the flight? Send me the flight number later!”
Seeing her that excited, Shen Jueshu laughed quietly and agreed with a soft “okay.”
After they hung up, Sui Yu immediately received Shen Jueshu’s flight information. The arrival time was around 8 PM in Linhai. That gave her enough time to shop with Jiang Siyue, then go pick her up afterward.
Just thinking about Shen Jueshu coming home soon made Sui Yu feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Sleeping alone no longer felt so hard—probably because she had something to look forward to now.
The next morning, she was woken by Jiang Siyue knocking at her door. She could hear her calling from outside, telling her to get up so they could go have breakfast together.
“Got it~” Sui Yu drawled lazily, yawning as she sat up and rubbed her pounding head. Although she hadn’t felt lonely last night, she had dreamt a string of strange, exhausting dreams.
After washing up and changing, she headed downstairs to find Jiang Siyue already dressed to the nines and waiting. Sui Yu glanced at her and said, “Aren’t you worried someone might take your photo dressed like that?”
She was still technically an idol, wasn’t she?
Jiang Siyue looked down at her outfit and replied, “I’m just going shopping, not committing a crime. If someone takes a photo, so be it.”
Sui Yu shrugged. “As long as we don’t get mobbed, I don’t care.”
She drove them to the address Jiang Siyue provided and was surprised to find they’d arrived at a dim sum restaurant. She paused—she didn’t remember Siyue being into dim sum.
“Come on, my friend said this place is great. Thought we could try it together,” Jiang Siyue said as she got out of the car and adjusted her hair against the cold wind.
“This friend… it’s not Mo Yu or Tang Wan, is it?” Sui Yu asked curiously.
“Nope! She’s a senior I met during filming. She’s really nice—taught me a lot on set!” Jiang Siyue replied with a bright smile. In the entertainment industry, genuine kindness was rare and precious.
“Oh,” Sui Yu nodded and followed her inside.
Perhaps because they were both celebrities, the friend had booked a private room. Jiang Siyue opened the door and cheerfully greeted the woman inside, while Sui Yu trailed behind. The moment she saw the woman clearly, her steps froze.
Her eyes fixed on the woman sitting inside, and her body stiffened. A trace of disbelief flickered across her face.
The woman looked up and met Sui Yu’s gaze, a bit confused by her reaction. Still, she smiled graciously. “You must be President Sui. I’ve heard Siyue mention you and President Shen quite a lot. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
“Let me introduce myself. I’m Fu Xin, a friend of Siyue’s.”
Sui Yu stared at the composed, graceful woman in front of her, unable to shake the daze. She couldn’t stop staring at her face.
Jiang Siyue sensed something was off. She leaned in and whispered, “Why are you staring at her like that? Don’t forget you have a girlfriend!”
Sui Yu: “…” She was speechless, but Siyue’s words snapped her out of it.
Turning to Fu Xin, Sui Yu offered an apologetic smile. “Sorry, I lost my composure a bit. You look very much like someone I used to know. I was taken by surprise.”
Jiang Siyue blinked. She has an old friend who looks like Fu Xin? How come I never heard of this?
Fu Xin simply smiled politely, not taking it too seriously—likely assuming it was just some Alpha’s usual pickup line.
“Let’s eat before everything gets cold. I didn’t know what you two liked, so I just ordered a few things at random,” Fu Xin said.
Jiang Siyue brushed off her earlier doubts and smiled at Fu Xin. “We’re not picky at all. You have great taste—everything will be delicious.” She tugged Sui Yu into a seat.
But even after sitting, Sui Yu remained distracted, barely tasting her food as she kept sneaking glances at Fu Xin.
Of course, Fu Xin noticed, but since Sui Yu was Siyue’s friend, she said nothing and simply continued chatting comfortably with Jiang Siyue.
After the dim sum meal, the three of them headed to the mall. Technically, they could have everything delivered straight to their doorsteps—but sometimes, the act of shopping was just more satisfying.
Well… maybe not for Sui Yu. She didn’t care for shopping. She was too lazy.
Trailing behind the other two, Sui Yu pulled out her phone and began looking up information on Fu Xin. She found out that Fu Xin had already been in the industry for fifteen years. Most of her work was in serious dramas, and she was a highly recognizable actress with strong national presence.
If Jiang Siyue could maintain a good relationship with such a senior, it would definitely help her transition into a more serious acting career.
But…
Sui Yu took a deep breath.
This Fu Xin looked so much like her old friend from the orphanage. For a moment earlier, she’d even thought Fu Xin was that friend—just all grown up now…
“Ayu! Weren’t you here to shop? What are you doing back there?” Jiang Siyue’s voice called from up ahead.
Sui Yu snapped out of her thoughts and immediately met Fu Xin’s eyes—those calm yet slightly curious eyes. Following her gaze, she realized Fu Xin had seen what was on her phone screen.
Sui Yu: “…”
She quickly turned off the screen. Fu Xin’s photo disappeared into darkness. Trying to sound casual, she said, “Yeah, I’m looking now.”
Taking a deep breath, Sui Yu pushed down the embarrassment bubbling inside her from being caught searching someone up, and tried to focus on the shops around her.
Today’s goal was simple—she wanted to buy something she and Shen Jueshu could both wear. They had been together for a while now, but they still didn’t have any proper matching clothes.
She soon wandered into a sleepwear boutique. The moment she saw all the different styles of pajamas, her eyes lit up. She immediately told Jiang Siyue not to follow—she had to pick this out herself! Pajamas were personal. There was no way she’d let someone else choose those for her.
While Sui Yu browsed the sleepwear section alone, Jiang Siyue and Fu Xin were in another shop nearby.
Fu Xin glanced at her reflection in a mirror and asked casually, “I heard you and President Sui grew up together. I’m just curious—how come you never mentioned that I look like someone from your past?”
Jiang Siyue’s smile froze just for a second. Then, acting natural, she replied, “We did grow up together, but we had different social circles. There are people she knew that I didn’t.”
“Is that so?” Fu Xin replied with a soft chuckle, her expression calm but thoughtful.
Meanwhile, Sui Yu had chosen several sets of pajamas and asked a bodyguard to carry the bags. She planned to drop everything off later at the dry cleaner.
Tonight, she was going to wear matching pajamas with Shen Jueshu. No more waiting.
After regrouping with Jiang Siyue and Fu Xin, she found them trying on outfits. Fu Xin came out first in a soft flannel dress, belted at the waist. The dress highlighted her figure perfectly—slim and elegant, with a hint of distance in her posture that added to her charm.
“President Sui, what do you think of this?” Fu Xin asked with a slight smile.
Sui Yu gave her a once-over and answered seriously, “It suits you very well, Miss Fu.”
“Really?” Fu Xin looked down at herself, seemed pleased, and told the store assistant to pack it up.
