Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 50.1
Even someone as composed as Shen Jueshu was stunned for a brief moment when she heard what the front desk had said.
Women… trying to become mistresses? What was that supposed to mean?
When she and Sui Yu made their way down to the first-floor lobby, they immediately saw the company entrance—normally bright and open—now blocked by an excessive display of flowers. Red and pink roses were arranged into a massive heart. A voluptuous, glamorous Omega was holding a framed photo of Sui Yu. A delicate-looking Omega clutched a black suit jacket in her arms. A Beta woman stood nearby, sobbing uncontrollably. All three were clearly here for Sui Yu.
Sui Yu: “…”
“What… what are they doing?” she asked in bewilderment. If she weren’t still struggling with mobility, she would’ve stepped back on instinct to keep her distance. At the same time, a deep sense of dread surged through her.
Shen Jueshu frowned as she saw the scene, the air around her gradually turning colder and heavier.
“President Sui, you haven’t contacted us in so long. Have you… forgotten about us?” the Omega with the jacket looked at her with tearful eyes, drops falling steadily onto the black suit jacket she held. She choked out, “You don’t know how I’ve survived without you. This jacket you left behind is the only thing I’ve had to cling to.”
Her words were so filled with emotion that even the sultry Omega who hadn’t been crying began tearing up. She gently stroked Sui Yu’s face in the photo and said, “You promised… that after marrying Miss Shen, you’d explain everything to her and bring us home. Why haven’t you kept that promise?”
“President Sui, were you just stringing us along?” Her reddened eyes shimmered with grief, and her fragile beauty was enough to move the crowd. Many people watching felt their hearts ache, wishing they could go up and comfort her.
But Sui Yu felt none of that. Only sheer panic.
She stared at the three women, then turned to Shen Jueshu’s icy expression. Grabbing Shen Jueshu’s hand in desperation, she opened her mouth to explain—but the Beta woman cut her off.
Her eyes were so swollen from crying she could barely see. “I know I’m just an ordinary Beta,” she choked out, “but you once told me that I was your one and only Xiao Lan, that no matter what I was, you’d cherish me forever. Is this what all Alphas do—take and discard without a second thought?”
“President Sui, we came here today for just one thing. Are you really done with us?”
The crowd around them had grown, and with it, the number of people listening. Although the situation was shocking, it wasn’t entirely unbelievable. Sui Yu had always had a bit of a scandalous reputation. Was it really so strange for some ghosts from her past to come knocking?
Now, all eyes shifted to Shen Jueshu. Some were sympathetic, others curious, and many simply eager to watch the drama unfold.
Sui Yu’s heart dropped halfway into her stomach. She clutched Shen Jueshu’s hand, her face flushed with urgency. “I don’t know them! I swear!”
“President Sui! How can you say that?” The delicate Omega burst into even greater sobs. She held up the jacket. “This is the one you left at my place last time you visited! The scent is fading, but it’s still there. Just smell it! Smell it yourself!”
She began moving forward to prove it to them.
“Stop! Don’t move!” Sui Yu shouted, her mind reeling like she’d just taken a bullet to the head.
Who came up with this insidious plan?! This wasn’t a prank—this was a full-blown ambush!
Shen Jueshu’s expression grew increasingly cold. She looked at the three women, then turned to the wide-eyed, horrified Sui Yu. She lowered her gaze slightly, concealing the thoughts behind her eyes.
“Not just anyone can claim ties to her. If you keep twisting the truth like this, aren’t you afraid we’ll call the police?”
“Miss Shen! What we’re saying is true!” the fiery Omega snapped. Her voice trembled, but she tried to maintain composure as she pointed at Sui Yu. “We’re only here for a clear answer. If you really don’t want us, we’ll leave right away. But if there’s still any love left, then please, stop making us wait in vain.”
As she spoke, her voice softened, filled with longing. She reached back and touched the gland on her neck, tears in her eyes. “It’s been so long… even the temporary marks you left on us are gone.”
That set off the fragile Omega again, who collapsed sobbing into the Beta’s arms.
Sui Yu was completely dumbfounded. If she didn’t know that the original Sui Yu’s playboy image was entirely fabricated, even she might have believed them!
Who the hell sent these three actresses to sabotage her?
And now people were filming with their phones! If this got out, Shen Jueshu would become a laughingstock!
“Enough!”
Sui Yu suddenly released a wave of top-tier Alpha pheromones, so intense that everyone in the vicinity felt crushed under the weight of it. Cold sweat trickled down their foreheads. Only Shen Jueshu, standing beside her, remained unaffected.
Sui Yu’s icy eyes scanned the crowd. Even though most of them were Betas with limited pheromone sensitivity, they could still feel the suffocating pressure—like a mountain bearing down on them. Combined with her chilling glare, no one dared move a muscle.
She finally turned her attention to the three women. One by one, she looked them over and said coldly, “Aside from Shen Jueshu, I have never been romantically involved with anyone—let alone physically intimate. Keep slandering me, and don’t blame me for what happens next.”
A sneer tugged at the corner of her lips. “I’ve loved Shen Jueshu since I was a teenager. After falling for someone like her, do you really think I’d even look at the likes of you?”
“You’ve overestimated your own appeal.”
How could she possibly care for anyone else when her world had long been filled by a gem like Shen Jueshu?
Gasps rippled through the crowd. If what she said was true, then what about her past behavior? Was it all a lie? Why?
Their understanding of reality began to feel… surreal.
The infamous playgirl Alpha, suddenly revealed to be a loyal homebody?
Sui Yu glanced disdainfully at the heart-shaped rose display. “With taste like that, I’d never fall for you. Next time you try this crap, bring some aesthetic sense—and maybe some brains.”
She waved to the security guards. “Throw this eyesore into the trash. Don’t let it block the entrance.”
The three women, insulted to their faces: “…”
Sui Yu gave them one last cold look, then turned to Shen Jueshu—and her entire demeanor changed. She clung to her pitifully and whined, “Wife~ my leg hurts. I can’t stand anymore~”
Shen Jueshu: “…”
In front of such a large crowd, she couldn’t just leave Sui Yu hanging. She reached out to support her and gave Qin Qing a subtle look. Qin Qing immediately nodded, understanding her instructions.
As the couple left, the three women at the center of the chaos exchanged glances. Realizing the performance was no longer sustainable, they slipped away through the crowd, heads low.
Back in the office, Sui Yu clung to Shen Jueshu the entire way like both her legs had given out, completely ignoring the image she was wrecking in front of their subordinates.
“Wife, you have to believe me! I’ve never done anything to betray you! If I have, may I be struck by lightning, doomed for eternity!” she said dramatically as they entered, practically swearing on her life. The earlier encounter had nearly scared her to death.
What kind of absurd melodrama was that? Mistresses showing up to demand accountability?!
“Hm,” Shen Jueshu replied flatly as she locked the door behind them.
The click of the lock made Sui Yu shiver. Why lock the door? What was she planning?
Once seated on the couch, Sui Yu curled into the cushions like a nervous puppy. Still, she forced a smile and said, “Siyue should’ve seen that just now. Would’ve been great practice for her acting career.”
Those three women cried on cue, full of passion and sincerity. She almost applauded their commitment.
“Hm,” Shen Jueshu responded again as she straightened the wrinkles in her clothes from supporting Sui Yu earlier.
Watching her calm expression, Sui Yu grew even more anxious. She clung to the edge of the couch and stammered, “S-say something, please. You’re scaring me.”
That unreadable face, that quiet voice—it was like the calm before a storm. Utterly nerve-wracking.
At last, Shen Jueshu looked directly at her. “Are you really telling me you had nothing to do with those three?”
Sui Yu immediately raised four fingers and vowed, “Absolutely not! If I did, then may I be hit by a car and—mmph!”
Before she could finish, a hand clamped over her mouth, forcing the rest of the words back down her throat.
Shen Jueshu’s expression remained flat as she looked at her. “Of course I believe you didn’t know them. After all, when you’re with me, you’re like a shy little rabbit. It’s hard to imagine you juggling three women on the side.”
But just because she didn’t do it… didn’t mean the original Sui Yu didn’t.
“How can you be so sure those women weren’t from her past?”
The original Sui Yu’s reputation didn’t come from nowhere, did it?
With her mouth finally freed, Sui Yu blinked rapidly, then blurted out, “I swear on her behalf too! The original never did anything inappropriate!”
She quickly launched into an explanation of the original Sui Yu’s behavior, especially the antics she pulled with Jiang Siyue. To make her case even stronger, she dialed Jiang Siyue directly—even though she was filming out of province—and handed the phone to Shen Jueshu.
Jiang Siyue was momentarily confused until she understood the situation. Clearly, Sister-in-Law had started digging into A-Yu’s past now that they were officially together!
“Sis-in-law, please don’t believe those rumors! It’s all fake. The truth is, we were just acting wild—we didn’t actually do anything!” She went on to list every bar and party they ever attended, naming all attendees in detail, terrified of seeming evasive.
After hanging up, Shen Jueshu looked at Sui Yu’s innocent expression and finally let out a quiet sigh.
Seeing no reaction from her, Sui Yu inched over and tugged at her sleeve. “So don’t believe anything they said, okay? Someone’s clearly trying to drive a wedge between us.”
The scheme was vicious. If Shen Jueshu didn’t know she wasn’t the original Sui Yu, and if the original had really been that reckless… this would’ve been a disaster.
Suddenly, just like the time they confirmed their relationship, Shen Jueshu straddled Sui Yu—careful not to press down on her injured leg. With her hands gently cupping Sui Yu’s face, she tilted her chin up.
Sui Yu gazed up at her. Their faces were inches apart, and she could feel the soft breath that passed between them, tickling her skin in a sweet, electric way.
The rest of Shen Jueshu’s words never left her lips—but the deep, meaningful look in her eyes said everything Sui Yu needed to know.
Basement.
Sui Yu felt wronged.
“I thought we agreed—no more threatening me with the basement?”
She was already in this state, and she still had to prove she was completely loyal? She glanced up at Shen Jueshu’s face and, in frustration, ground her teeth slightly. Then, annoyed, she leaned in and bit her on the cheek, mumbling, “Is your self-esteem really that low? You think anyone could compare to you?”
You’re the female lead, for crying out loud—brilliant and beautiful. Where on earth could she find another you?
The bite didn’t hurt. It was more like a nibble—a puppy-like attempt at rebellion. Sui Yu gently gnawed at the soft skin of her cheek as if testing boundaries.
Shen Jueshu’s lips curled into a faint smile. Sui Yu, in that moment, was like a cornered pup: baring its teeth, acting fierce, but in reality? Totally harmless.
She cupped Sui Yu’s face again and placed a kiss on her lips. “I’m not trying to scare you,” she said softly, smile still present. “I’m just reminding you.”
Reminding you of the consequences of betrayal.
Sui Yu: “…”
She pouted. Shen Jueshu had been acting normal for a few days now, and here came those three troublemakers—triggering her dark, possessive side all over again.
Sui Yu threw her arms around Shen Jueshu’s waist, burying her face into her chest without a hint of shame. “I get it, I get it,” she muttered. “I spend every day with you. Where would I even find the time for anyone else?”
And seriously, was she insane? Leaving a literal goddess at home just to mess around with cheap flowers and weeds? She wasn’t one of those scumbag men who didn’t know how to appreciate what they had!
She liked stability, not that whole “wildflower is more fragrant than garden flower” nonsense.
