Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 44.3
She couldn’t accept that.
Sui Yu could only be hers.
When Sui Yu came out of the bathroom, she saw Shen Jueshu standing by the window, the breeze tousling her hair. The evening light spilled over her, wrapping her in a soft, almost divine glow.
Sui Yu’s heart skipped a beat—then began to pound with a force that made her chest ache.
She hurried over and shut the window, then wrapped her arms around Shen Jueshu. The chill on her skin confirmed what she’d feared. Frowning, she began to rub her hands and warm her cheeks.
“You can’t just rely on your strong constitution and stand there like that,” she muttered. “If you catch a cold, I’m not taking care of you. I’ll go have fun on my own!”
Shen Jueshu watched Sui Yu carefully warming her hands and cheeks, and her voice softened. “You really wouldn’t take care of me?”
Sui Yu gave a soft, huffy sound and turned her head away, not answering.
That little hum—equal parts pride and bashfulness—only made Shen Jueshu smile more. Her eyes sparkled as she teased, “Not even my wife? Then wouldn’t that make you a total scummy Alpha?”
The moment she heard wife—and worse, scummy Alpha—Sui Yu lifted her head to glare at her. What she saw was Shen Jueshu’s playful smirk, her eyes full of teasing mischief.
“I am not a scummy Alpha!” Sui Yu pouted slightly.
If she was still considered a scummy Alpha, then there wasn’t a single good Alpha left in this A/B/O world!
Hearing the quiet frustration in her voice, Shen Jueshu’s heart melted. She couldn’t help leaning in to kiss her lips softly, murmuring against them, “I know… you’re my best Alpha.”
Sui Yu’s cheeks flushed pink. Her toes curled slightly, and she instinctively pulled her hands closer to her chest. As sweet as Shen Jueshu’s words were, they were also deeply embarrassing. Her mind swirled with warmth and something she couldn’t quite name. It was so cheesy—yet she wanted more.
She was starting to feel ashamed of her own hopeless reactions—embarrassed but eager, shy but thrilled. She really was hopeless.
Seeing Sui Yu’s face redden, Shen Jueshu’s smile grew even deeper. She gently pulled her hands away and said, “Alright. I’ll go take a hot shower to warm up.”
Then, her tone shifted. Mischief returned to her lips as she leaned close to Sui Yu’s ear, lowering her voice until it was almost a whisper, sultry and ticklish, sending a rush of heat through half her body.
“Do me a favor, my Alpha. Go warm up the bed for me. I want a toasty blanket waiting when I get out.”
With that, she turned and walked toward the bathroom, leaving Sui Yu standing there like a frozen statue, dazed and completely stunned. Her ear—the one Shen Jueshu had whispered into—turned such a vivid red it looked like it might start bleeding.
She’s too seductive!
Sui Yu was completely speechless. She stared at the closed bathroom door, and when the sound of water running reached her ears, her heart began to race wildly. It was beating so hard it made her chest ache.
She staggered toward the bed on shaky legs, then leapt onto it, diving under the covers and curling herself up into a little cocoon. Her whole body felt like it was on fire.
A moment earlier, a faint wisp of Shen Jueshu’s pheromones had floated into the air. Just that subtle trace was enough to make Sui Yu feel like she was losing her mind.
She had the overwhelming urge to throw Shen Jueshu onto the bed and press her down right then and there!
“Ahhh!!”
Sui Yu screamed into the pillow in a whisper, trying not to yell out loud.
What the hell is wrong with me?!
How can I be this pervy?!
We just got together, and I’m already thinking about sleeping with her?! Am I some kind of hormonal monster?!
She thrashed around in frustration, furious at herself.
Imagining those kinds of thoughts… that’s just low. Really low!
Meanwhile, Shen Jueshu had no idea what kind of chaotic meltdown was happening outside the bathroom. She let the warm water wash over her, her skin turning soft and pink under the gentle spray.
She smiled quietly to herself.
Her Alpha was far too easy to tease. Just a few playful words, and her eyes would fill with panic and shyness. Shen Jueshu wanted to keep teasing her… and at the same time, wanted to hold her close and never let her go.
When she finally emerged from the bathroom in the hotel’s white bathrobe, she found Sui Yu—true to her word—seriously warming the bed.
She’d clearly been rolling from one side of the bed to the other, determined to make sure every inch was warm. It was clumsy and adorable.
Shen Jueshu felt her heart squeeze.
How could her Alpha be this cute?
She sat on the edge of the bed and looked down at Sui Yu with a smile. “Is it all warm now?”
Sui Yu glanced up. The steam from the bathroom had left Shen Jueshu’s skin rosy and dewy. Gone was her usual porcelain coolness—she now looked soft and glowing, as if she might melt under a single touch.
“I-it’s warm,” Sui Yu stammered. “You can come check…”
Shen Jueshu chuckled, reached up, and undid her bathrobe. Then she lifted the corner of the blanket and slipped under it.
The cozy warmth wrapped around her instantly. Beneath the covers, she could still smell the delicate, cool scent of geranium—Sui Yu’s pheromones—seeping into her skin, bringing with it a rare sense of comfort and peace.
But the moment Shen Jueshu started undressing, Sui Yu’s eyes widened in panic. The flush spread so fast it felt like her skin had been set on fire.
Especially when Shen Jueshu slid under the blanket and leaned close—Sui Yu reflexively backed away.
Unfortunately, she went too far and fell right off the bed with a loud thud.
“Ugh!” she groaned, landing with a pained grunt.
But she barely felt the impact—her head was still spinning with the image of Shen Jueshu untying her robe.
That skin… that glow… like a blooming pink rose… so soft, so beautiful…
She—she’s not even wearing pajamas underneath!!!
Sui Yu buried her face in the crook of her arm, overwhelmed with shame.
Why was I so bold?!
Shen Jueshu was stunned by her sudden fall, but the soft thud followed by a muffled groan brought her back. She leaned halfway out of the bed, peering down—only to find Sui Yu curled up on the carpet, her ears burning so red they looked like freshly boiled crab.
Shen Jueshu: “…”
She knew Sui Yu got shy easily, but not to this extent.
She glanced at the thick carpet and figured the fall probably didn’t hurt that much. Still, she didn’t know whether to laugh or scold her.
Any other Alpha in that situation might have pounced without hesitation—yet her bashful Alpha acted like she’d just seen a monster and ran for her life.
Sighing softly, Shen Jueshu got up, pulled on a sleep dress, and said with a helpless tone, “Come back up. I’m dressed now.”
At the sound of her voice, Sui Yu’s ears twitched. After what felt like some intense internal debate, she slowly peeked up, cheeks still flushed. When she saw Shen Jueshu had indeed put on a nightgown, she finally exhaled in relief and cautiously climbed back into bed, lying down properly and stiffly like a soldier reporting for duty.
Watching her, Shen Jueshu felt like she was beginning a very long journey.
“You’re really that scared?” Shen Jueshu turned on her side, propped her head up with one hand, and looked at Sui Yu with amusement. “You’re acting shyer than an Omega.”
Sui Yu opened her eyes and glanced at her, clearly flustered. Her lips trembled as she whispered, “It’s not that I’m scared… I’m just… not used to it yet.”
She’d only ever seen her own body growing up, and suddenly facing Shen Jueshu’s had completely short-circuited her brain.
Seeing her so genuinely flustered, Shen Jueshu reached out and gently brushed her fingers over Sui Yu’s brow. Her voice was soft and comforting.
“It’s alright. You’ll get used to it—with time.”
The moment those words left her lips, Sui Yu felt a strange chill run down her spine.
Why… did it sound like she’d just been marked by fate?
So cold… so final.
Neither of them said much after that. Maybe the exhaustion from traveling had caught up with them, because Shen Jueshu soon wrapped her arms around Sui Yu’s waist and the two fell asleep, snuggled close together.
They had arrived in Nancheng around two in the afternoon, and by the time they woke up again, it was already seven in the evening. Both of their stomachs were growling with hunger.
“Let’s go out and explore a little,” Shen Jueshu said as she changed clothes. “See what local food they have around here.”
Sui Yu avoided looking at her entirely, turning her back to change. Her hands fumbled at the clasp of her bra, her fingers sweaty and clumsy. Just thinking about the glimpse she’d caught of Shen Jueshu’s back earlier made her ears burn.
Before long, she felt a cool, soft pair of hands cover her own. They gently took over, fastening the clasp with practiced ease. Shen Jueshu’s voice, smooth and gentle, drifted over her shoulder.
“There. All done. If it feels uncomfortable, try adjusting it a bit.”
Sui Yu’s entire body went warm again. She quickly threw her shirt over her head, biting her lip in embarrassment.
“I—it’s fine. It’s comfortable.”
There was no way she was going to adjust anything in front of Shen Jueshu!
Shen Jueshu looked at her for a moment, then said nothing. She simply grabbed their phones and handed Sui Yu hers before heading toward the door.
The two of them walked together down the busy evening street. With their striking appearances, they naturally drew attention. People passing by couldn’t help but glance back at them again and again.
Sui Yu couldn’t shake a rising sense of unease.
Someone like Shen Jueshu… how could she ever like someone like me?
She turned to look at her. Shen Jueshu’s features were elegant, serene, and impossibly refined. But there was also a certain distance to her beauty, like she was forever wrapped in an unmelting layer of frost.
Someone so ethereal, so untouchable… and yet one day, she had looked at Sui Yu and said she would give her everything.
At that moment, Sui Yu couldn’t help wondering—what had she ever done to deserve someone like Shen Jueshu?
Suddenly, she felt her hand being taken.
Fingers slipped between hers and gently intertwined. Warm, soft. A steady grip.
Sui Yu looked down at their hands, now tightly clasped together in public, and smiled—finally at ease.
If someone like Shen Jueshu could fall in love with her, then maybe she wasn’t so bad after all. Maybe she had something worth loving.
As long as Shen Jueshu still liked her, did it really matter how others saw her?
No.
Only she mattered.
But what neither of them knew… was that behind them, not far off, a pair of burning eyes had been following their every move.
When those eyes fell on their interlocked fingers, fury flared.
“Thief!” Ding Qisi growled under her breath, her voice thick with rage. Her gaze locked on Sui Yu, as if she wanted to pierce holes straight through her.
She had stolen what was supposed to be hers.
Ding Qisi’s gaze shifted, falling on Shen Jueshu with twisted adoration. The very first time she’d seen her, she had fallen.
This woman was too beautiful—unfairly so. More stunning than any celebrity she had ever laid eyes on.
Just one glance, and she had been branded into her heart.
She began walking, slowly, step by step, following them.
Her expression was no longer just one of longing. It had shifted into something darker—something obsessive.
She wasn’t stealing.
She was just… taking back what already belonged to her.
