Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 42.3
Staring at the person who either avoided her or brought up divorce every time they met, Shen Jueshu’s stormy emotions were about to collapse inward.
“Sui Yu, be honest with me. Do you already like someone else?” Shen Jueshu’s eyes were fixed on her. Is that why she’s so eager to get a divorce? Because she’s fallen for someone else?
Sui Yu was momentarily stunned. But thinking it over, Shen Jueshu’s behavior really was confusing. Maybe it would be better if she said she did like someone. In this situation, wouldn’t that help them part ways more cleanly?
She lowered her head. After a short silence, she replied, “Yes.”
It’s you.
Just saying that single word made Sui Yu feel like her heart was soaked in sourness. She had wanted to try chasing Shen Jueshu, but she hadn’t been able to take that step.
She didn’t know if Shen Jueshu was truly the right person for her. Staying single until twenty-five showed Sui Yu was someone who’d rather go without than settle. So she couldn’t decide—she was afraid.
But the moment Shen Jueshu heard her say “yes,” her expression darkened. Even her voice became hoarse and low, full of suppressed emotion. “Who is it?”
Who? Who had she fallen for behind her back?
Shen Jueshu mentally replayed every detail of Sui Yu’s recent behavior, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t pinpoint anyone special.
Sui Yu shook her head. “I can’t tell you. Nothing’s even started between us.”
Shen Jueshu’s gaze deepened. The snowy scent of her pheromones filled the entire office, wrapping around Sui Yu like shackles—just like an Alpha asserting dominance.
She stood and stepped toward Sui Yu, eyes locked onto hers. She leaned down, completely enclosing Sui Yu in her presence.
Her voice was low and close by her ear. “Who is it?”
Sui Yu was overwhelmed by the Alpha-like pressure from Shen Jueshu’s pheromones. Her body began to heat up. The warm breath against her ear made her skin tingle—so this is how Shen Jueshu must’ve felt before.
And now, she was reacting, too.
“Who is it?” Shen Jueshu asked again, voice so cold it seemed to splinter.
Sui Yu swallowed slowly, feeling trapped in Shen Jueshu’s presence. Her chest burned with heat and panic. Why is she reacting so strongly?
“I already told you—it’s private,” she managed to say, voice trembling. “None of your business.”
Shen Jueshu closed her eyes, as though restraining herself. I gave her a chance, she thought bitterly. She just doesn’t cherish it.
“The basement,” she said softly, voice deceptively light. “Should we give it a try?”
A cold chill rushed through Sui Yu’s spine. Her body stiffened like a board. Even breathing became difficult.
What kind of lunatic threatens to lock people up? Who would dare love someone like this?!
“Are you insane?! Who I like has nothing to do with you!” Sui Yu tried to steady her breathing, but Shen Jueshu’s rage-filled pheromones were overwhelming. Her heart felt both scorched and frantic. She’s going to drive me mad!
“Nothing to do with me?” Shen Jueshu murmured.
She placed one knee beside Sui Yu, then the other, completely boxing her in—no room left to retreat.
She reached out and touched Sui Yu’s face. Her obsidian eyes stared straight into Sui Yu’s furious ones as she leaned in. Her lips brushed past her cheek, stopping by her ear.
“Because you’re mine,” she whispered coldly. “Unless I give you permission, you’re not allowed to like anyone else.”
“You’ve been marked by me. That makes you mine.”
Her lips gently closed around Sui Yu’s earlobe. But the fury still laced in her tone made Sui Yu feel something terrifying:
If she said no, Shen Jueshu might just bite her ear clean off.
That terrifying thought sparked panic. Yet beneath it… fireworks lit up inside her chest.
Her throat bobbed as she swallowed. Her voice came out raspy: “Then tell me—why did you keep me by your side all this time? Are you saying these things out of Omega possessiveness, or is there something more?”
She looked up at Shen Jueshu. Their current position was intimate, ambiguous. Something in her heart stirred—she had guesses, but she needed a clear answer.
Shen Jueshu’s lips tightened around her earlobe before she pulled back. Rising to her full height again, her gaze turned cold, a smirk curling at her lips without warmth.
“Then you tell me,” she said. “Why do you think?”
If she had to spell it out now, would that still not be enough?
Staring at her cold expression and the contradiction between it and her actions, something ignited in Sui Yu’s chest. The fire swept through her bloodstream, making her thoughts blank for a moment.
Then, like a woman possessed, she reached up, grabbed Shen Jueshu’s face, and yanked her down—her lips crashing fiercely against hers.
To hell with “fated match”!
To hell with waiting for the right person.
She only wanted Shen Jueshu. Crazy, twisted, whatever it was—only Shen Jueshu could ignite her fire, and only she could fill that emptiness in her chest.
She only wanted her.
The scent of geraniums—Sui Yu’s pheromones—unfurled into the air, trying to blend with the icy snow in Shen Jueshu’s. Having already marked each other, their scents entwined with no resistance.
“Mm…” Shen Jueshu closed her eyes, feeling that clumsy, wild tongue break through her lips, crashing around inside her mouth with zero finesse.
It wasn’t a good kiss.
But her heart was overflowing.
She allowed Sui Yu’s recklessness and embraced all her inexperience. Surrounded by the scent of geraniums, she felt a sense of indescribable fulfillment.
So… she really does like me, doesn’t she?
Sui Yu finally released Shen Jueshu’s face. Her head turned slightly to the side, gasping for breath, but her cheek still pressed against Shen Jueshu’s. She wrapped her arms tightly around Shen Jueshu’s waist and, between breaths, muttered, “You’re mine. Stay away from Ding Qisi from now on!”
I don’t care if you eventually fall for her in this life. Just the thought of the two of you being together in that damn novel makes me want to tear her apart.
She wanted Shen Jueshu. She wanted to monopolize her. She wasn’t so generous as to step aside and watch someone else take her place.
Shen Jueshu, still held tightly in Sui Yu’s arms—so tightly that her waist actually ached—didn’t say a word. Instead of resisting, she simply leaned closer and rested her head on Sui Yu’s shoulder.
“I’ve only met her three times, including just now. We’ve barely even spoken. What exactly do I need to ‘stay away’ from?” Her voice was soft, but there was a clear trace of amusement in her tone. She closed her eyes. If she’d known things would come to light between them this easily… she should’ve done this a long time ago.
“She’s barely been here any time and you’ve already met three times. Of course you should stay away!” Sui Yu didn’t care if she sounded jealous or petty. Let it be said she was jealous to death of Ding Qisi—especially if that girl was supposed to be Shen Jueshu’s so-called “fated match.”
Shen Jueshu closed her eyes, inhaling the familiar scent of Sui Yu’s pheromones mingled with her own, her voice growing even lazier.
“So… is there something else you’ve been hiding from me?”
“You once asked if I liked younger, wolfish Alphas,” she added, her tone slow and pointed. “She fits that image pretty well. So—was the person you mentioned… her?”
Sui Yu: “…”
This woman is too clever. If they were really together, wouldn’t she be wrapped around Shen Jueshu’s little finger all the time?
She started to regret things a little.
But her hands—still firmly wrapped around Shen Jueshu’s waist—tightened again, honestly betraying her reluctance to let go.
Even though she didn’t answer directly, her silence was answer enough.
So, Ding Qisi really is the “official match” arranged for me in that story, Shen Jueshu thought.
She rubbed her cheek against Sui Yu’s shoulder and said lazily, “I’m not going to fall for her.”
If Sui Yu hadn’t appeared, maybe she would’ve developed feelings. But now that Sui Yu was here, she only had eyes for her. Sui Yu was her ideal type—and no one else would receive even a fraction of her affection.
If Ding Qisi had been the designated “match,” it made sense why she’d felt an odd familiarity when first seeing her. So it was the plot messing with me.
Sui Yu felt both relieved and… warmed. Her chest burned softly, and her cheeks turned pink.
Shen Jueshu’s voice just now—it was too seductive.
The two of them were still wrapped around each other. Just a short while ago, they’d been at odds. Who would’ve imagined they’d be hugging like this so soon?
“Don’t scare me with that basement talk anymore!” Sui Yu grumbled. All I did was bring up divorce—and she wanted to lock me up?!
Deep down, a small concern lingered: What if Shen Jueshu stays like this… forever?
Shen Jueshu didn’t answer right away. Instead, she said softly, “As long as you don’t think about leaving me… then the basement will never need to be used.”
Sui Yu: “…”
Am I in a relationship where breaking up is no longer an option?
“…Sui Yu,” Shen Jueshu suddenly said.
“Yeah?” Sui Yu responded, a little weakly.
“That person you said you liked… who is it?”
She wanted Sui Yu to say it—clearly, out loud. To eliminate even the possibility of anyone else.
Sui Yu: “…Aren’t you just asking something you already know?” She bumped her forehead gently against Shen Jueshu’s.
“I want to hear you say it,” Shen Jueshu insisted, stubborn as ever.
Heat rose to Sui Yu’s face. She’d been blushing way too much today.
“You haven’t even told me why you want me to stay. If you won’t say it, then I’m not saying it either!” Sui Yu bit her lip, her eyes shimmering with shame and vulnerability.
Shen Jueshu lowered her head and gently bit down on her shoulder. Her teeth grazed Sui Yu’s skin, not too hard, but enough to leave two neat rows of imprints.
“Hiss—! What was that for?!” Sui Yu yelped, a little aggrieved. “You don’t want to say it, fine—but why bite me?!”
After the bite, Shen Jueshu softly licked the mark, then lifted her head and looked at Sui Yu with serious eyes.
“Because I want you to stay,” she said quietly. “I want you to be truly mine. I want to give you everything I have.”
She took one of Sui Yu’s hands from around her waist and gently placed it over her chest.
“Even this,” she whispered, “is yours.”
Sui Yu stared at her in a daze. Her eyes slowly drifted down to her hand, now resting over Shen Jueshu’s heart. She could feel the warmth beneath her palm… the clear, strong rhythm of her heartbeat.
She said she’d give me everything she has…
Even her heart.
Sui Yu’s heart thundered in her chest. Her throat suddenly felt dry. Her eyes stung and her nose burned.
No one had ever said anything like that to her before.
No one had ever told her they wanted to give her their everything.
She hugged Shen Jueshu tightly once more. Tears slid silently down her cheeks and landed on Shen Jueshu’s shoulder. Her voice trembled with emotion.
“The person I like… is you.”
Before I even realized it, you had already taken up residence in my heart.
