1122 - Chapter 10
After leaving the apartment, Jiang Yi went straight to another hospital without a second thought. He would never set foot in Galaxy Hospital again.
“Doctor, can the baby be aborted?”
“I sincerely recommend keeping it. If you care about your health, you must keep this child.”
“Why?”
“I glanced at your medical records. You just underwent secondary differentiation into an Omega two months ago, correct? Right now, your birth cavity was developed through surgical assistance, but if you become pregnant, it will need to rely on surgery again to stimulate further development. Allowing it to develop naturally would be much better. Another issue is that your birth cavity currently cannot withstand the risks of an abortion. If you terminate the pregnancy, there’s a 90% chance your birth cavity will have to be removed. Do you understand what that means? Your gender is Omega, but your body would become effectively genderless. This would cause pheromone disorders, endangering your life.”
“Fine, I can keep the baby. But what about the glandular marking? Can it be removed?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“The alpha pheromones in your glandular marking are crucial for protecting you, and the alpha pheromones in your birth cavity are essential for safeguarding the fetus and ensuring its healthy development. This is why children born to AO partners have the highest survival rates and the lowest disease rates gender compatibility is a critical factor in a child’s health.”
“But I’m a Secondary Differentiation Omega. I’m not a complete Omega.”
“Child, you shouldn’t think of yourself that way. A Secondary Differentiation Omega is still an Omega. You can consider yourself an Omega who developed a little later.”
“I don’t want to be an Omega. I don’t want this baby, and I don’t want this marking.”
“But you need to live. Your parents gave you life, they wouldn’t want to see you treat yourself like this. Some things, once they happen, can’t be undone. When you can’t give up, you must learn to choose the best solution for yourself. Acting impulsively isn’t the only way. Have you discussed this with your Alpha?”
“We’ve already separated, so there’s no need to consult him. The right to choose is mine.”
“I can see you’re a very strong-willed young man. Alright, if you truly don’t want this child and are willing to accept the risks to your health, I’ll discuss with a few senior doctors about performing the surgery for you.”
“…Surgery?”
“Yes. If you decide to abort, your birth cavity will have to be removed simultaneously because there’s a 90% chance of infection. This surgery carries significant risks, so I strongly advise you to reconsider.”
“How big are the risks?”
“Death from excessive blood loss.”
“…”
Jiang Yi didn’t know how he walked out of the hospital. He only knew he was facing a critical decision whether to keep the child and raise it alone or abort it, lose his birth cavity, and slowly die.
But the answer was obvious. Of course, living was the most important thing.
Yan Nanchen was just one man. Who hadn’t encountered a scumbag in their youth? Consider it a lesson learned like being bitten by a dog. It wasn’t like he was broke, right? Worst case, he could sell the apartment, liquidate his stocks, leave this place, and find somewhere to raise the child.
Being a single dad was pretty cool too.
Jiang Yi stood by the bus stop, watching car after car pass by. His vision gradually blurred as if veiled by a thin mist. Lowering his head, he tugged at his lips with a bitter smile:
“…Cool my ass.”
Getting tricked out of his body and heart, how was that cool? He really was an idiot.
Soon, the ride-hailing car he’d called pulled up in front of him. As he reached to open the door and climb in ready to return to Galaxy Group to proffer a humble apology three black Mercedes suddenly parked beside his ride. Several tall Alphas in black suits and sunglasses stepped out.
Jiang Yi’s hand paused on the door handle. He glanced at them suspiciously. Why did it feel like… they were here for him?
The bus stop was crowded at this hour, and curious onlookers turned to watch the scene unfold.
“Are you Mr. Jiang Yi?”
When one of the black-suited men approached him, Jiang Yi’s earlier suspicion was confirmed. But as the man drew nearer, he spotted the Galaxy Group logo engraved on the suit’s nameplate and his expression darkened instantly.
Coldly, he replied, “No, I’m not.”
With that, he moved to get into the car.
It had to be that bastard Yan Nanchen. If he dared pull some forced abduction bullshit, Jiang Yi wouldn’t hesitate to storm Galaxy Group tomorrow and wreck the place.
Just as the door was about to close, a strong hand blocked it.
“Jiang Yi.”
Already seated in the back, Jiang Yi froze. Slowly, he lifted his gaze to meet a face both familiar and unfamiliar, the real Chu Beiheng, with the mole on the tip of his nose.
The man blocking the door was none other than Chu Beiheng himself.
Chu Beiheng pulled the rear door open, bracing one hand against the roof as he leaned down to address the driver. “Sorry, sir. We won’t be needing this ride anymore. For your trouble, you can pick any car you like from all the 4S stores under Galaxy Group. My bodyguards will take you there.”
The ride-hailing driver, momentarily stunned by this windfall, hadn’t even processed what was happening.
Frowning, Jiang Yi tried to shut the door again. “I still need the ride, don’t listen to him.” But the door wouldn’t budge. Frustrated, he shot Chu Beiheng a glare.
Using his physical advantage, Chu Beiheng kept the door open. He looked down at Jiang Yi. “I’m not here because of my dog of a brother. Our family is now at odds with Yan Nanchen. I know this approach might scare you, but it was Director Duan who suggested it said you’re too stubborn to come otherwise.”
Jiang Yi: “…” Well, that explained it. So, Director Duan knew everything.
After apologizing to the driver, he stepped out of the car.
Chu Beiheng, who’d been holding the car roof, finally withdrew his hand once Jiang Yi was out. He then glanced at his bodyguards.
They nodded, and two black umbrellas were promptly opened above Jiang Yi’s head.
Jiang Yi: “…” God, this was so awkward. Thank goodness he hadn’t been waiting right in the middle of the bus stop. He shot Chu Beiheng a sidelong glance and muttered under his breath, “There’s no sun.”
They were standing under tree shade, where was the sun? Umbrellas with no sun in sight was just embarrassing, especially with so many people watching.
Chu Beiheng smirked. “My brother’s a dog, but I’m a gentleman.” He walked to his own car and opened the rear door for Jiang Yi, gesturing politely. “After you, Mr. Jiang.”
Under the shade of the trees, sunlight filtered through the gaps and fell upon the tall Alpha, exuding the youthful handsomeness characteristic of his age. His eyebrows lifted slightly, and his handsome face bore a radiant smile, as bright as the blazing sun, making the mole on the tip of his nose seem brimming with innate confidence and vitality.
That smile left Jiang Yi momentarily dazed.
Jiang Yi stared blankly at Chu Beiheng. The Alpha’s face and figure before him seemed to overlap with that unforgettable person, yet upon closer inspection, they were entirely different.
Puppy wasn’t this sunny.
No matter how much that person could act spoiled, how gentle or doting he was, he never had the transparent cheerfulness of Chu Beiheng. Instead, he was mature and steady beyond his years, always weighed down by worries.
Hah, of course. How could he not be burdened after deceiving him for five months?
By day, he was Yan Nanchen at work, and by night, he was Puppy. Such a disguise must have been exhausting.
If it were him, he’d have gone mad.
“Hey, don’t look at me like that. I just got back to the country clean slate, no wife or kids, really.” Chu Beiheng felt uneasy under Jiang Yi’s gaze, inevitably thinking of his younger brother, who had just been sent to the hospital for treatment. This situation was even more absurd than he’d imagined. “You’re pregnant, don’t just stand here like a fool. Get in the car.”
“Where are we going?”
“To my place to meet my fathers. They want to see you and talk about Nanchen.”
The car ride was silent the entire way.
Chu Beiheng drove, occasionally glancing at Jiang Yi in the rearview mirror. He couldn’t quite wrap his head around the fact that Yan Nanchen liked this type, though then again, he thought of Uncle Gu.
Well, hard to say.
“What, do you think I’m not good enough for Yan Nanchen? Planning to pull some rich-family drama and pay me off to leave him?” Jiang Yi noticed Chu Beiheng’s gaze and laughed, looking out the window. “No need for that. I don’t want Yan Nanchen anyway.”
It was all over.
“We think he’s not good enough for you.” Chu Beiheng steered the car into Jiangtian Yisu, heading toward his home while taking a different route to avoid being seen by others. After all, today was the day Ranran was meeting his Alpha’s family.
Jiang Yi rested his hand against the car window, propping his cheek, and let out a self-deprecating laugh at Chu Beiheng’s words. “Yeah, where does he even measure up to me? Let alone mark me and get me pregnant.”
“So, do you want to leave?”
The car slowly pulled into the garage.
“I do.”
Once the car stopped, Chu Beiheng got out and opened the door for Jiang Yi. Leaning against the car roof, he noticed the redness around Jiang Yi’s eyes and said, “I can take you away.”
“…What?”
Standing by the car door, Jiang Yi stared at Chu Beiheng in shock.
Chu Beiheng closed the door, smiling nonchalantly as he locked the car. “I said, I’ll take you to M Country.”
