Mu Chen recognized the woman before him.

She was none other than the mistress Qin Xiaozhe doted on so dearly.

Mu Yichen thought it was something serious, but upon hearing this, he nodded. “I know.”

Xia Dan grew even more concerned. “Yichen, you can’t be with her. A woman like her is too ruthless. She tried to ruin the Qin family after her divorce. Who’s to say she won’t try to destroy our Mu family if you ever break her heart?”

Mu Yichen chuckled lightly. “I won’t let her get hurt.”

Seeing his mother’s stunned expression, he continued, “I was the one who had Qin Xiaozhe’s company’s finances frozen. He hurt Nan Xi, and this is the price he has to pay.”

Xia Dan looked at her son in disbelief. “Why?”

“Because I love Nan Xi, and I trust her.” After saying this, Mu Yichen told his mother about the situation between Qin Xiaozhe and Nan Xi.

After hearing the reason for Nan Xi’s divorce and everything she had endured over the years, Xia Dan fell silent for a moment.

Xia Dan nodded. “I was too hasty and didn’t get the full story. I won’t interfere with you and Nan Xi anymore.”

Mu Yichen had known his mother would understand. “Thank you, Mom.”
